sorry your day didn't go to plan jammy. how is DH today? have you got a TENS machine?

Ohforfoxsake · 02/11/2009 14:10

Aww, happy birthday Bumble!

Hi everyone

Hi Bumper - what news?

I am on a mission to de-clutter and tidy. I'm failing. Its not for sitting on my arse, I am doing it - but its a constant battle and looks like a dump the whole time.

Fuckityfuckfuck.

Onwards and upwards - off to finish filling the cracks in the bathroom before painting.

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/11/2009 14:11

DH went in to work (his "day off") for a staff meeting at 10.45, and said he would be an hour. I expect it will turn in to a huffy row.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 02/11/2009 14:46

Hiya

I've got a funny tummy today....so on a beautiful day like this, we can't get out

Hello Bumper.....not totally abandoned us then?

I bought a lot of rugs & IKEA pictures when I was selling my house Foxy....and just chucked all the clutter into storage....

Ohforfoxsake · 02/11/2009 15:25

Storage is soooo expensive.

Am waiting for council to get back to me about a garage. But it makes me think of The Bill. Gruesome things always happen in local authority garages and lock-ups!

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 02/11/2009 17:34

or you could find something valuable a la Trotter family .

Have you not got a loft to shove it in? I hate the tarting up phase before going on the market - but it is worth it.

Sputnik · 02/11/2009 20:12

Hi Bumper and Foxy, welcome back Daisy.
Sorry, not been around much as my parents were here last week. We had fantastic weather but now it's raining.
Foxy I seem to have been decluttering for the last year. Have you got anywhere with looking for a house yet?

Sputnik · 02/11/2009 20:14

Sorry, that was rude! Hello everyone else too, just wanted to say a special hello to people who haven't been around for a while.
And Happy Birthday Bumble!

LatinDAISYcal · 02/11/2009 21:17

thanks for all the birthday wishes for bumble

We are all partied out after having too many toddlers to count here this afternoon.....and bumble still a bit under the weather so wouldn't let me out of his sight and screamed if I so much as turned my back on him. I wasn't exactly the hostess with the mostest as I spent the whole time not managing to furnish my guests with food and drinks.

ah, the endless clutter....we have a clutter monster here; I cleared all the living room shelves yesterday and there are bits and pieces all over than again after only one day. Where the fook does it all come from???

and don't get me started on socks

OP posts:
Sputnik · 02/11/2009 21:37

Oh yes we have a serious sock problem here too. DD had 5 pairs of matching white socks at beginning of tern, now only 2 and 1/2

JammyOLantern · 02/11/2009 21:44

I have a glove problem - have lost countless gloves (well mittens) of Jamlet's.

Sputnik · 02/11/2009 22:12

Have you tried the string through coat sleeves trick?

ameRIAcansmooth · 02/11/2009 22:26

I have appearing clutter and disappearing useful stuff too.

LatinDAISYcal · 02/11/2009 22:28

I buy several pairs of self coloured stretchy mittens at the start of winter Jammy (poundstretcher or equivalent is good for this). As they can go on either hand, if one gets lost, I have several back ups, and they usually see us through.

Tis especially important where school is concerned as lost gloves never get returned, even if names are in. Although saying that, one year we ended up with 2.5 pairs of the same glove, when we only started off with one ....i think the feckers must have reproduced

I've given up on socks; as long as they have a sock on each foot, I'm prepared to let it go.

what is Cbeebies coming to? Ben and Small have a row and Jess going solo after all these years!

LatinDAISYcal · 03/11/2009 10:41

lol Ria, it's a blinking soap opera in cbeebie land.

OP posts:
JammyOLantern · 03/11/2009 12:01

We don't lose them when she's wearing them - we lose them when we take them off and put them somewhere in the house, never to be found again!

Years ago when I was a student, we used to take MASSIVE bags of washing to the launderette and get a service wash (bless those lovely ladies for sorting out our smalls etc!). And one time a blue sock came back that didn't belong to us. Then the following week it's friend came back with our washing too!

LatinDAISYcal · 03/11/2009 12:36

ah, so having lots of pairs the same would just mean lots of lost pairs of gloves?

I am on my knees today. I drank too much wine last night, went to bed at 1.30, then bumble up and screaming at 2.30 and in bed with us until he woke again at half four, during which time I only dozed as he was on the outside and I was worried about him falling out of bed and woke up every five minutes. At five we gave up trying to sleep and came downstairs where he fell asleep on the sofa and slept until eight and I was awake. So I managed one full hours sleep all night and can hardly see today. I'm keeping myself going with a combination of sugar (halloween treats), stodge (bowls of stovies) and caffeine.

YAAAAWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN

Have a glass of wine, or a wee nip. It'll set you right Daisy

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 03/11/2009 15:42

Ohhh sounds rough Daisy....it's be Toy Story 2 all the way here

The 3 of us went to the outlet this morning and had lunch at MacDonalds and it was a fucking nightmare! Finally we were all dressed and ready to go, DS threw up everywhere and DD - in her haste to "help" - stood in it - and knocked the potty (full of piss) over whilst she was at it!! Got to the outlet(half an hour later than planned - all of us in clean clothes), got them in the double buggy......2 whinging children in tow....could only go in some shops cos their Xmas displays are out and aisles therefore too narrow for buggy . DD needs a wee.....got her to the loo having to leave DS and buggy just outside the loo (in sight obviously). Went to go out and some middle aged old cow opened the doors to come in the loos, saw me attempting to manoeuvre ourselves out of the loo and....promptly pushed past and let the door close - fucking old bag!! . I said to her "Oh I'm sorry if I was in your way, I rather thought you were going to help me and hold the door open so I could get out more easily" and she pissed off into a toilet asap . Finally after shopping, got them both in highchairs (DD would just bugger off if on a normal chair) with food in front of them (having balanced it on the buggy back to the table - why does no-one help you these days??!!), DS grabbed for whatever he could get, and unfortunately, it was a pot of tomato ketchup which he squeezed and it went EVERYWHERE! He then smacked it all over his face and painted the table with it! DD meantime was sitting there, arms crossed giving me the lip "don't want it" AAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH.....If you don't laugh you'd cry! I could so easily take up smoking again! And all top of all that, Van Heusen didn't have any fucking shirts in the right size and Clarkes have discontinued my favourite shoes that broke last week

My god I can't wait to get back to work!

Beat that for a shit day!!!

Is it too early to break open the wine?

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 03/11/2009 16:01

blimey that was a bit of a rant wasn't it

How on earth do you come with more than two?! I'd never go out of the house!

LatinDAISYcal · 03/11/2009 16:57

Rant on Norty.....I'm so glad that I have a really good playgroup and friends on my doorstep, otherwise I never would leave the house!

and pmsl foxy; if I had done that there's no way I could have stopped at one! and daytime drinking is the thin end of the wedge!!!

OP posts:
Ohforfoxsake · 03/11/2009 17:16

Don't fret Norty, you only go through that experience once a lifetime.

Then its only internet shopping and drive-thru's. I can still honestly mine have never been in a Macdonalds (but we have driven around the outside a few times)

Ohforfoxsake · 03/11/2009 17:17

Oh Daisy, the thick end of the wedge is over-rated in my opinion!

Sputnik · 03/11/2009 17:21

There speaks the voice of wisdom and experience.

I can honestly say I have never been shopping (other than supermarket) with my 2. DD has always been a nightmare. DS is fairly amenable if you keep passing him biscuits.

You are on the home straight now Daisy!
