Just popping in, we have a space dog sleeping bag too! Has done 2 children now.
On the subject of stair gate, do you all have one still? My parents are asking if they need to keep one for our next visit. DS is pretty god at stairs now but theirs are quite steep.

JammyOLantern · 27/10/2009 22:41

We have one at the top Sputnik. She's good going up but a little unsure going down sometimes still. So we close it if we're upstairs doing something while she's walking about/playing without being watched 100%. And now she's in the bed we are shutting it at night too, as her room is right at the top of the stairs and we don't want any middle of the night sleepy stumbling accidents! ILs think we should have one to stop her going downstairs in the night at theirs too, though her room is a little way from the stairs there, and I imagine my parents will feel the same.

ameRIAcansmooth · 27/10/2009 22:59

we still have one sputnik - top of stairs (don't think he can open that one), DS1s room, kitchen and bottom of stairs (though he can open that one)

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 28/10/2009 09:00

I have gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, one at the kitchen (no door) and a huge one across my patio doors so I can open the door and keep them in. But I do have a crawling inquisitive 9 month old!

My one at the top of the stairs stays shut at night so she can go to the toilet and she is a bit wobbly when tired so usually gets supervised coming downstairs first thing.

JammyOLantern · 28/10/2009 21:57

Where is everyone???

Went to see a friend and her 3 week old little girl. Was and . But hoorah! Jamlet wasn't when I gave the LO a lovely cuddle

Sputnik · 28/10/2009 22:34

Thanks for your answers everyone. Off to bed....

ameRIAcansmooth · 28/10/2009 23:36

what's up with MN tonight - my screen is odd.

just here, tiresome tired children and a new living room cabinet from freecycle to install and clean. It had a coin from 1918 in the drawer! One for DS1s collection

DS2 been to a baking activity today, he was worn out

and pumpkins delivered to the competition.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 29/10/2009 11:49

my screen is also a bit odd - have they changed it all again?

JammyOLantern · 29/10/2009 15:55

Seems a bit odd here too.

We went to the library this morning and ended up with some Christmas books amongst our pile of books . And I bought her a toy Dyson from the charity shop for £1,50

Jamlet had a friend round this afternoon for painting and gluing and glitter fun

ameRIAcansmooth · 30/10/2009 11:01

your dyson is a bargain. I got baggins a hoover for xmas from the M&S outlet for £9.50.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 30/10/2009 11:13

I'm never using glitter in this house again.....its still everywhere and I hoover every day! Its even on DSs bum!!!

Where is everyone? Have we all decamped to FB and no-one told me?

ameRIAcansmooth · 30/10/2009 11:22

LOL Norty. you will learn

I am just busy trying to make a dent in the housework, and sorting out the new cabinet. (why does one little job make a million other big ones?)

DS1 off at a golf activity day (we dropped him off at his school to get the taxi and all the other kids had full sets of clubs! Think he maybe won't enjoy it as he'll feel out of place). DS2 at an art day, so just me and poorly baggins (though at least he isn't quite the devil child he was yesterday)

my friends who said they couldn't come for a drink tonight have decided they can now after all (they thought I meant without any kids, so refused as the kids are back from their Dads, but I said I hadn't only meany without kids. IYSWM? Am a bit tempted to exaggerate baggins poorliness TBH, though I suppose it wouldn't be such short notice if I'd read the email yesterday. I just don't fancy it now and had started making other plans, plus haven't got any wine in and no time to go to the big supermarket....

argh, I am hopeless!

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 30/10/2009 11:39

Awww Ria.....I usually find that when I do something that I wasn't looking forward to, I usually end up enjoying myself. Go for it, have a few glasses and relax.

Hope Baggins improves.

I've just bought two tickets to see Jon Bon Jovi in London next year.....not entirely my cup of tea, but DH loves them and I think Jon is quite tasty! Cost a fucking fortune though.....obviously haven't been to a concert for a few years!

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 30/10/2009 11:57

Can anyone help me here? Pretty please?

Before I go loopy?

Thanks

ameRIAcansmooth · 30/10/2009 22:37

sorry I missed that Norty. looks like you got good advice though. Baggins is a complete nightmare ATM, yesterday was the worst, but one or maybe both of the others always used to be really naughty before they were poorly

Baggins had another nasty nappy so I cancelled, but not fair to start a D&V epidemic when they're due back at school! don't feel so great myself, but I think it's PMT and half-term-itis.

LatinDAISYcal · 31/10/2009 18:53

not a hope in hell of me catching up; been trying to post all day but my children are driving me potty.

they wake up screaming and carrying on, scream and carry on their way through the day and then go to bed screaming and carrying on. all bloody three of them. all the bloody time.

and to cap it all bumble has just bitten me and almost drawn blood

I resign.

did y'all miss me???

OP posts:
ameRIAcansmooth · 31/10/2009 22:05

course we did. D'ya have to ask now apart from the puke and the porpoises, how was it?

baggins has been doing the screaming thing. The others doing the fighting thing.

DS2 back to school Monday, DS1 Tuesday.

DH has fucked off decided to stay over at work tonight so I am feeling very sorry for myself. And wondering if he is really worth the effort. (am annoyed because he worked this week the night he promised to have the whole day off, and there is a staff meeting on Monday at the same time as my dance class.)

LatinDAISYcal · 31/10/2009 22:23

It was fine ; we got in some quality family time beachcombing and chilling with films as well as catching up with my sis and her two boys and my big, big sis and her DH. Never saw my older nephews though or my brother and his family . at feeling that way, but there is no love lost between us and they are an emotional drain best avoided.

DD is being a nightmare. she steals sweets at every opportunity (my fault for leaving things lying I know ) and is refusing to eat her meals and then screaming for pudding.

Can't believe the bumble is one tomorrow (well in about four hours!). He took a step the other day, but hasn't repeated it!!

arse for your DH staying over again Ria. Must be hard with three boys to deal with on your own.

I'm coming down with some sort of lurgy; hopefully not the sickness thing the kids have had. Feels more fluey...soo off to bed with some paracetomol and a hot toddy.

OP posts:
LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 31/10/2009 22:40

No need to catch up Daisy....only about 10 messages since you were last here!

Arse to DH Ria....hope the boys give you a quiet night.

We're having food issues here as well Daisy. Had some really good tips and advice on a thread I started about it!

Happy Birthday to Bumble for tomorrow - where has that year gone??!!

IKEA tomorrow for new bookcase and dining room table - oh joy!

ameRIAcansmooth · 31/10/2009 23:01

to give them credit they aren't too bad once they're asleep (bar a bit of tossing and turning and talking), it's just the getting them to sleep...

soumds good daisy, and [smile[ to get the best bits of your family too.

I know this is petty but, Dsis said something tonight on the phone that implied they'd passed through the village yesterday. It's the holidays so the DCs at home - why didn't they visit our parents? (they live 15-20 mins drive away, and if DF&DM aren't babysitting they don't see DN&DN from one week to the next as Dsis doesn't bring them out after tea etc) It's

ameRIAcansmooth · 31/10/2009 23:09

sorry daisy, meant to say take care, hope you just have a bit of post-holiday exhaustion and not some sinister lurgy type illness

A quick question for anyone techy - our PC, if the speakers are switched on, sometimes randomly plays something (seems to be american accented adverts, sometimes music etc.) I have no idea what it is or how to stop it, so any suggestions received with massive thanks (I was hoping to watch iplayer earlier, but whn I turned the speakers on this something was already on and I couldn't get rid)

Probably bedtime for me. Hoping for a quiet night, though I think the rumbling upstairs means I have 2 in my bed.

LittleMissNorticiaAdams · 01/11/2009 17:30

IKEA on a Sunday morning is shit at the best of times.....doing it relatively close to Xmas is double shit,

but IKEA in the pissing rain with 2 small whiny children is enough to turn anyone to drink!

What a fucking nightmare!

Hope DS has had a good birthday Daisy

Don't know about your PC problem Ria? Did it sort itself out on a re-boot?

Bumperlicioso · 01/11/2009 20:08

Hello

Long time no see, just popping in to see how you all are. Happy Birthday to Bumble. Big congrats to Foxy on the wedding news.

Hope you are all ok

LatinDAISYcal · 01/11/2009 22:24

helloo bumper; good to hear from you

Ria, is there some sort of adware playing in the background? maybe check your virus/spyware status?

am fooking knackered; up at seven and madly cleaning/tidying before the rellies arrived (and threw out two carrier bags full of crap from the living room and sorted out a huge box of stuff for the baby nearly new sale we are doing ion a few weeks) and only sat down at 7 after the DC were in bed......then bumble got up again and didn't settle until nearly 10. Not sure if teeth or sore ears or both but he was bloody miserable. He loved his birthday though and is very happy with all the wheeled things that he got, not that he was allowed to play with anything between DS1 and DD, and then his three older cousins!

DH is snipping his nosehairs in the living room mirror.....nice

glad you survived IKEA norty.

knackered and off to bed and doing the whole party thing again tomorrow
