Star - You and Aubergenie are fabulous & have made me feel justified in my . I spoke to some other mums this morning and had an interesting chat. One of the mum's ds is struggling but has been making steady improvement & the feedback about him was completely positive, which if progress is being made, it should be. I also spoke to a mum who's ds is in the top group like my ds. The teacher told her that her ds was too quiet, easily distracted and struggling with maths. That was it. This mum is less, um, assertive than I so she didn't say anything and the teacher ushered her out almost immediately. Grrrrrr! Another frustrating thing is that my ds and the other ds who is doing well are very good friends, and the other ds is very quiet. Yet the teacher is only concentrating on doing confidence building work with those who are in the bottom group. DS's mate could really do with some confidence building but won't get it as hs' not in the bottom group.

Sorry if this post doesn't make any sense!

Can I tell you all about M's recent progress? I don't want it to seem like I am boasting (I'm not, just relieved that she is finally 'getting' things) so wanted to check first.

Oh dear myjob. That was worse than my night, which was quite bad enough.

Am off to get my hair cut this afternoon, and leaving ds with dh (working from home), so I think that ds was being kind and making sure that he is tired enough for a big sleep whilst he's without me later.

tell us 50ft!

Q makes NO noises but does push cars/trucks around... he can turn pages, and loves books, but doesn't say anything. But hey... he can walk! lol

Awwww poor N. M managed to get rid of her horrible cold by sleeping all day. That's probably what both of you need, lots of sleep.

Pistachio - M does the same, only with her cushion tapping rather than actually saying milk. She gets so excited that sometimes she gives me a big kiss and cuddle when I pick her up.

Right, seeing as I have permission....... M has a book with a spider in it and it is her favourite page. She points to the page and says 'biber'. She finally pointed to her nose last night and this morning when I asked her "where's the tree?" she pointed to the trees. I said well done clever girl and she started clapping. She still won't walk though

50ftQueenie · 15/10/2009 09:51

CSWS - Enjoy your haircut. And I don't think you or I are ever going to be the type of people with clear kitchen worktops.

MamaG · 15/10/2009 09:58

No Star, what will go down in history is you asking me how old BabyG is.

On a post-natal thread.

Where not only do we all have babies roughly the same age, but DOBs are in OP

50ftQueenie · 15/10/2009 10:00

Myjob - Sounds horrendous. Poor N and poor you.

50ft - I'd forgotten until I read Star post that your ds was so young. Doh! Even worse, in my opinion.

star6 · 15/10/2009 10:05

go N! Q doesn't even clap yet loves phones, too, though.

That's GREAT from M! Very very clever!! WOW!!

If you posted more often, MamaG, I wouldn't have forgotten. I actually thought you were just visiting our thread to tell us about having 3 children for a few hours . Now that I put your MN to your RL name, I feel so . I read your status updates on my homepage all the time! I'm not sure WHO I thought you were on MN! LOL

CantSleepWontSleep · 15/10/2009 10:11

Well done M.
D doesn't clap yet either star (shall we change your name to 'AStarShortOfAConstellation'? )

OP posts:
star6 · 15/10/2009 10:14

so people could call me ASSOAC?

MamaG · 15/10/2009 10:37

Yeah yeah STar, you blame me if it makes you feel better

I don't know any of your RL names either, except perhaps CSWS and possibly 50ft who I think is scared of me as I have a similar name to MIL!

50ftQueenie · 15/10/2009 11:05

I'm not scared of you now MamaG, but Jesus Christ, when I first saw the request to join the group I thought "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Fucking hell it can't be, noooooooooooooo!" It would have been the end of my MNing that is for sure. There is NO way I could ever have her knowing things about me.

KSal · 15/10/2009 11:13

50ft, I'm so impressed with M's talking and understanding - she's clearly very bright

the only thing Emma has done that is comaparable is when i showed her a rubber duck and saad - what do ducks say, Emma? she replied quack quack, she's only done it twice (and not since i boasted to all her grandparents about it). I guess it reflect the hours of quacking at her in the bath!!

I've got parents evening at the nursery tonight - I missed the first one because of the trains. I'm really worried that Emma will want to sit with her keyworker rather than me...

myjob, sorry you've had such a hard night, fingers crossed N gets a bit of rest today and you can get some too if DS is out.

star6 · 15/10/2009 13:01

Ksal if that does happen re the key worker, then it is only because Emma is used to being with her in that environment and that will show you she is secure with her and happy there. Not to say she isn't happy if she doesn't do that. Just to say that some kids do that. In my parent teacher conferences even at this age, some kids prefer to sit next to me rather than their parents just because it is me they are used to in this situation and it's comfortable. Either way, it's totally normal

star6 · 15/10/2009 13:03

MamaG I just posted about awaiting my half term with Q on my fb status - that should tell you who I am

star6 · 15/10/2009 13:04
