Struggling to load pages these days and saw we were over the 900 so took the liberty of starting a new thread.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Yaaaay! Many congratulations to all.

Will now text Sponge - he weighed exactly the same as Iestyn did, and I have preemie babygros etc which I could lend! (6.1 is preemie as far as babyclothes go...although Iestyn was overdue!)

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 15/10/2009 11:05

Very excited for sponge. It really doesn't seem so long ago we had our babies.

Rolf · 15/10/2009 11:16

Well done Sponge and Matt . Two babies under 2 for the lady who couldn't have babies . So pleased for you.

Any more news from Sponge? All very exciting.

I've come home in a bad mood. Getting ready for Tiny Talk this morning I couldn't find J's raincoat anywhere, the last time I definitely remember him wearing it was to go to Tiny Talk last week. Mentioned it in passing to the girl who runs it, in case I had left it there, then at the end as we were getting ready to go, the woman I was sat next to proceeded to produce a raincoat exactly the same and put it on her kid. Okay so it could be a massive coincidence but I bought it from ebay so doubt it is still in the shops. Am now seething at the idea that this woman has nicked J's coat! Surely if you had picked up something like that at an organised group you would hand it in rather than dressing your kid up in it the next week? In fact I guess that is the argument against it being his coat. Do you think it is reasonable for me to ask next week if anyone has seen it? Not accusing her but giving her chance to own up, or feel guilty, or not care as it's a different coat? Right rant over, back to being very pleased for Sponge!

PiggyPenguin · 15/10/2009 11:43

Fantastic news Sponge!!!! So glad to hear that baby Michael is safe and well.

Blimey, I'm so relieved! He must be the most anticipated baby ever. Its a good job we all have a little time to rest before getting exhausted waiting for the next two!

Thanks for the technical analysis on Stephen Gately Viva, its all so much clearer now!

goingtohaveagoodnightssleep · 15/10/2009 12:26

ktpie It's very unlikely the woman would put her son in a jacket which she took from the group last week. I would however mention that yours is lost to the whole group and ask them to keep an eye out.

Lifeistooshort · 15/10/2009 12:37

Hi ladies

It is needahand here. I was just lurking (I don't do it too often these days...traditions die hard and you still talk too much for me to catch up!

I just saw sponge news and am so so glad for her.

Big huge congratulations Sponge

And a big hello to you all. I hope you are all well

pleasechange · 15/10/2009 13:20

hi lifeistooshort, good to hear from you

ktpie - I bet it is J's coat. Although you wouldn't dream of doing it yourself, some people really do have some brass nerve. Many moons ago, my mum left her top by mistake in a b&b shared bathroom after getting showered, and lo behold, the next morning, another woman was sitting wearing it at breakfast!

Amberc · 15/10/2009 13:53

Made up for Sponge! Cannot wait to see pics. I pray that Michael has latched on and she is breastfeeding away like a seasoned pro! I wonder when Sponge will start trying for number 3!!!!!

Got my package today and it ws great opening all the things I bought for Luke. thing is I forgot I ordered everything in 18-24 months so nowt will fit him - what a div! he's lost loads of weight since he discovered running and now 12-18 months are too big round the waist. ho hum.

Viva - I loved your SG death analysis. |Will you do Michael Jackson now?

Hello everyone else. Pretty sure we'll have nothing to talk about other than Sponge for the next few days God bless her

ktpie · 15/10/2009 13:55

Allnew - at the woman at the b&b!
I have calmed down a bit now, and searched the house and not found the coat. Goingto I would think you are probably right but I think the thing tainting my view is that I was sat next to the woman in question today and quite a few of the things she said made me a bit , she has what you might describe as a bit of a bad attitude, not terribly offensive but just a bit of a bad vibe coming from her, she also seems to have a problem with the group leader. If it had been anyone else from the group I would have assumed it was a coincidence but with her I'm not so sure.
It has really wound me up and the coat in question was really cheap and if I hadn't seen her with it I would have shrugged it off as just one of those things.

Lifeistooshort - hello!

ktpie · 15/10/2009 14:01

Amber - glad you got the package at last.

Can't wait for some pics and details from Sponge, I am guessing she is a tad busy right now!

neenz · 15/10/2009 14:03

Needahand, hello! What have you been up to - please tell. We missed you

I saw Ernest on another thread the other day too - told her to come back.

Wow Sponge, congrats, wonderful news, you are so clever! Love the name.

Lifeistooshort · 15/10/2009 14:23

Hi again everyone

Not much news really. Still working full time and in the process of buying a house. SJ is great (although a real danger to himself...he fell down the stair recently. It was awful) he climbs everywhere, runs and starts to speak a little which is really sweet. DD started reception in September and so far loves school. And we are trying to TTC number 3.

What about you all? I know Deb is still in Austria, PP (I bumped into her on another thread) is moving to NZ, sponge has had a baby. What about the others?

SpiderWilliam · 15/10/2009 14:31

So happy for Sponge. Can't believe that I didn't check internet or phone for 5 hours since the announcement. Looking forward to finding our how they decided on the name Michael.

SpiderWilliam · 15/10/2009 16:55

Bloody hell... P has just dropped the remote control down the back of the radiator, and, IT WONT COME OUT. DH is going to be seriously unimpressed when he gets back, as P isn't allowed the remotes....doh. I have tried the obvious and less obvious options for its removal. I think we might have take the radiator off the wall.

Amberc · 15/10/2009 19:30

Oh no Spider - what a mare!!! Luke loves to put things down the back of radiators too but nothing as earthshatteringly important as the remote. Our household would fall to pieces without it!!

ktpie · 15/10/2009 19:32

Blooming heck Spider, what a disaster! Hope you manage to get it out.

Anyone heard from Sponge? I'm guessing she will still be in hospital.

neenz · 15/10/2009 19:43

Lifes - me, Amber and Poppy are all TTC as well

I did a bit of a roundup a couple of days back for Rolf so have a look for it!

Rolf · 15/10/2009 20:07

Hello Needahand . Nice to see you.

Neenz did I thank you for your round-up? If not, thank you!

I have 2 children with awful hacking coughs. DS1 in particular is very miserable with it. Thea is getting seriously mischievous and actually flounced today when I took somthing from her.

abdnhiker · 15/10/2009 20:25

What great news to come back from holiday too! Yeah Sponge and welcome to Michael! I hope they're all doing well and that the rest of you will keep up the text updates. It does feel like the shortest pregnancy every but i know that it's just because I still consider Fraser my baby

spider long stick with duct tape? DH has always managed to fish out everything our two have hid back there.

am not even going to try to catch up with everyone...

We had a great holiday and I'm feeling happier and closer to DH. But I forgot to take my BC pill again and DS1 wanted to sleep in our room so our romantic fisherman's cottage was not fully utilized. DH and I are starting to wonder if our inability to take the pill (which we managed successfully for 7 years before this, he used to always remind me and I could totally count on him) is a sign from our subconscious - but I'm still not ready to have another yet...

SpiderWilliam · 15/10/2009 20:25

Ooh Rolf we had major flouncing today too. It was because I took the BBQ tongs away from P. (I was trying to get the remote back with them, but to no avail). So, the remote is still behind the radiator, but the good news is that I have told DH what has happened, and he took it very well (he was in the pub at the time). Luckily for us he works for Virgin Media, so he should be able to "acquire" a new remote from the office.

Essie3 · 15/10/2009 20:28

Hi lifeistooshort! Same old same old here, I'm afraid!

Spider I heard your distress call...I got Farmer Mark's quad bike from behind a radiator using a wire coat hanger which I adapted into an evil but long hook hand for myself. Is that too obvious?

DebInAustria · 15/10/2009 21:12

Spider - sounds like the pub's the best place to break bad news!

Life2short/Needahand - welcome back

Rolf - sorry to hear about the poorly children

We have tantrums here too!Ethan is getting very good at non verbal communication (words are limited)and there was no mistaking tonight that he wanted my sandwich on his plate , and he wanted it now. He is so funny miming actions, I don't remember the other 2 doing this, they seemed to grunt more. Our boys don't do early talking!

SpiderWilliam · 15/10/2009 21:18

Thanks essie. Alas, I have already tried the coathanger. It is just very wedged in there. Maybe DH with all his manly skills will have more success when he is back from the pub.

ifeistooshort nice to see you BTW. Should have said that earlier on. Goodluck with the TTC. I name changed recently, so you probably know me better as Ali

ktpie I have now watched the beardy bloke on "It's only a theory". Wow, what a beard. I found what he was saying about curing ageing very interesting though. I quite like the series as a concept. It is good and unusual for the academic community to get any air time other than getting DM type hysteria whenever anything controversial comes about. Maybe the June 08 resident academics should put their theories forward?

Lifeistooshort · 15/10/2009 21:58

NeeN wouldn't it be nice if we all fell pregnant at the same time! Although we would be too late for June 2010! Coming back feels like catching up with some long lost friends (which in a way it is I guess).

Spider (can't quite guess what you name used to be are you DQ?) I really hope you manage to get that remote out! If it was anything else I would suggest to try some oil but electrics + oil + heat would probably be a very bad mix. OOPs should have read the whole thread before typing. Of course you are ali!
