how about hair net and house coat?

Tummum · 28/09/2009 22:13

Oooh, lovely hair net there Jenn

FiByTheSea · 28/09/2009 22:13

jennster you're definitely on a roll now rofl!

Belgianchocolates · 28/09/2009 22:14

Jenn Lol at the picture. I'm your height and I've also got the short t-shirt problem. I'm currently wearing a 3/4 sleeved top that really is a 1/2 sleeved top on me I avoid most of the shops of the high street as sleeves tend to be too short, but I find Next and H&M not too bad.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/09/2009 22:14

Eeee Jen that's a right gradely photo o'thee.

JennsterFrogSaviour · 28/09/2009 22:17

belgian I went on the LTS website recently and was surprised at how less frumpy they look now. Quite expensive though.

Hehehe, I was just reading the Wikipedia entry on aprons in Dutch (still trying to find the Dutch word for housecoat) Anyway it had a helpful list of types of apron and the last on the list was latex apron: mainly used in the sex induxtry, lol. No mention of anything resembling a housecoat though, which IMO is probably more commonly used than a latex apron

I can sprawl with limbs artfully draped across beautifully folded, size and colour coordinated linen, in my shriekingly garish housecoat, laughing children gazing up adoringly.

Hmmmm.

ROFL at Belgian's latex aprons!!!!

I don't have an old skool feather duster, best quality lambswool duster in this house - same idea though. DD1 uses it more than I do atm.

SpangleMaker · 28/09/2009 22:27

Re photoshoot. The idea is there would be a group shot to head up the article and individual shots for each story. Grumpy, for example, would be pictured in the grounds of her chateau maison, surrounded by happily playing DDs, basket overflowing with plums, peaches etc - looking resplendently chic in pink gingham housecoat whilst nonchalantly folding linen.

Belgianchocolates · 28/09/2009 22:27

PMSL. What a lovely picture that would be. Mind you, a latex apron would be quite useful against baby vomit/wee/poo. Just wipe it off.

SpangleMaker · 28/09/2009 22:28

Grumpy cross posts, I see great minds think alike

Tummum · 28/09/2009 22:29

ROFL at latex aprons

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/09/2009 22:30

"nonchalantly folding linen"

Oh the shame. I am actually doing that right now - pillowcases.

spangle you're a genius to have come up with the photoshoot idea.

Re: the photoshoot. I've thought of a small technical problem, how can one capture the image of imaginary people? We are after all all imaginary phantom like beings. As per flippin's DH

JennsterFrogSaviour · 28/09/2009 22:33

baby apron When I said baby apron, I meant the flap of flab on my tummy at the front.

Belgianchocolates · 28/09/2009 22:35

jenn LTS is looking nicer. Just had a look. I wonder what their jeans are like. I always struggle to find jeans that fit me.

JennsterFrogSaviour · 28/09/2009 22:36

Belgian have you heard of the cottingley fairy photos They have just been on display in Preston. They're real photos of Fairies!

SpangleMaker · 28/09/2009 22:36

Dandy yes I could see this working! Hee hee. Do you think anyone would buy it as straight up? Perhaps one of us should start a thread in Style and see if any journos pick it up [hmm, might have to name change for that one].

Dandy I'd pictured you in your library, with artfully disarranged piles of books and interesting objet from your travels.

Belgian PMSL at latex apron. Now I had pictured you at the village fete, clad in Boden, C in posh sling, but perhaps we could work the apron in

Better go pay attention to DH, he is feeling like a mumsnet widow.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 28/09/2009 22:37

jennster I liked the thought of a combined apron/sling for the toting of baby whilst one gets on with kitchen-related activities in a brisk, apron-draped manner.

flippineck · 28/09/2009 22:42

Right, DH thinks I'm bonkers. My imaginary friends are making me laugh out loud and snort my tea everywhere.

Not sure what my artful pose could be. I seem to be amking bread a lot, is that wholesome enough?

Momino · 28/09/2009 22:43

sophietom, I believe what Jennster said that you're not fat and frumpy. after having a baby i think it is easy to feel that way. I hate my wardrobe. i love jeans but don't have a pair that fit me right. I'm also wearing a lot of my maternity t shirts which doesn't make me feel very attractive.

febes/grumpy, harper has been clingy baby as well. i'm not quite sure what her prob is but suspect teething as she's making funny mouth/lip shapes (and she's not hungry). i've not been able to put her down much either and it's maddening not being able to get much done.

can't wait to try the pasta jar tomorrow. it seems like a variation on the sticker chart but a little easier. we used to have a sticker chart to reward good behaviour giving a small treat when they got 8 stickers. however, when i ran out of space I couldn't be bothered to make a new chart.
