hi

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Gumps - pregnant surely you haven't had time to....

Sounds hard with S - my instinct says it's a bug. I don't think he would be vomiting 6 days later from the dairy. Has he always had silent reflux?

Nice to have you back Tree - although don't think I ever caught on that you had gone

MM/Tree - just a thought - culd it be the start of velcro baby that you are getting? Pat/MissJ and myself seem to be going through it at the moment. Is starting to drive me insane but that is another conversation...

Dog/MissJ - Pat has suggested the place where you and her met in the Forest MissJ - a farm I think for the 29th. Can you remember what it was called so I can link to it?

Moose - hope you get some advice from the consultant. Think I might have the op in your shoes, at least like Tree says you are giving yourself a chance of getting rid of the attacks.

MissJ - I think you would be able to get by with morning/night feeds and a bottle of ebm/formula at lunchtime. You would be able to survive a day or two without feeding or expressing and carry on bf afterwards. From my experiences with leaving DS for the odd couple of days I've found I cope best if he is feeding a lot before I leave him as my supply isn't so compromised and it is easier to express. Are you going to be living on/close to the site? If you are perhaps you could arrange to feed him during breaks whilst you aren't live and then you'd only have a few days at a time when you would have to be out of your normal bf routine. Be prepared for there to be a bit of a transitional couple of days after you have left him - DS was always very fussy for a while and most recently went on a little nursing strike for a day or so. He has always settled back to feeding though.

Great news Elkie, am really pleased for you.

Now did that rival Moose's post??? Surely not....

VeryHungryLennipillar · 14/10/2009 20:25

Dog - meant to mention I still haven't found any BBSS to replace my ittis. Haven't been checking the nappy sites religiously this week either so will be sods law I'll miss some but wanted you to know I haven't forgotten you!

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 20:35

I missed your post Elk. I'm really glad that is out of the way for you, and the fact the ss saw no issues.
Is there another partner you could see, or do they want you to see the same person?
It wasn't personal - that's the only way to deal with it. I've had to say/write/act on things before at work. I've felt totally crap for doing it, but it was never personal. I just had to make sure I could walk away knowing I had done the right thing, even when I was sure there was no real problem.

Easier said than done though I know, I don't know if I could follow my own advice and see the GP in this professional light.

Today is out of the way - YAY!!

VeryHungryLennipillar · 14/10/2009 20:47

Tree - do you have a thread on the egg donation? Can you link? Pretty please

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 20:51

eggy thread

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 20:52

Good grief H is one mardy madam tonight. She has had some Chamomilla. DGH said she was nouthing and sticking her tounge out as soon as she saw the tube

moosemama · 14/10/2009 21:00

Nope Lenni you'll have to do better than that to beat me!

moosemama · 14/10/2009 21:06

We've already been through a pretty major velcro baby stage, which was getting better, so I really hope we aren't in for a repeat performance.

I'm leaning towards thinking that she's probably coming down with one of our multitude of viruses.

She had actually cheered up slightly, but has just had a complete meltdown because Daddy stopped her sucking the hem of his jeans (which were a bit muddy after walking the dogs) apparently they were very tasty.

She should have been in bed an hour and a half ago, but no sign of her giving in yet and I'm too tired to fight tonight.

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 21:11

Our chamomilla dose has had its effect. I can't hear her roaring crying and screeching complaining.

Feeling better I think [as long as I don't stand up too long]. Getting hungry which is always a good sign. Also a very common one I must loose weight. Sometime or other.

My GP's practice is a father daughter practice, we're registered with the daughter. I still have to pick up that phone and try and get an appointment, I think we would be happy to see the practice nurse or to see a locum - I think they take on locums or salaried GPs - but I suspect that we'll end up seeing her so my idea is that dp should come with me. I would get dp to do it - the suggestion of the woman who runs the children's centre drop in I went to this afternoon who has been a wonderful source of sympathy and reassurance through all this and who thinks my boys are doing great - but it's probably better under the circumstances that we go in together.

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 22:01

Go together. It will be nicer for you, and you will have done it. Poor you having all this crap on.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 14/10/2009 22:03

Elkie - I am so sorry you have had to go through this. I hope you have some lovely things lined up to do for the rest of the week so you can get back to enjoying your maternity leave.

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 22:06

Good idea lenni.

Big treats for the Elkie household, especially mummy Elk.

moosemama · 14/10/2009 22:24

Elkie, good to hear that the ss thing wasn't so bad and is over and done with. As for the GP, I always take dh with me for moral support as I am hopeless at standing up for myself face-to-face. I have even been known to take my Mum if dh isn't available. It would also be useful as a way of showing a united front to your GP.

Hope you can still enjoy the rest of your maternity leave, you definitely deserve plenty of treats after everything you have had to deal with.

Hatts is lasting 20 mins tops in the cot. Sleeping deeply and peacefully on my chest

Could be a long night....

moosemama · 14/10/2009 23:05

Am with you Tree, dd just woke up screaming the place down - again! Aaagh! She has been Chammomilia'd up and is now sleeping in her swing, but I reeeally want/need to go to bed which means moving her upstairs.

I think I will get out my Wonder Weeks book for 10 minutes when I go upstairs and see whether it could be developmental.

Oh god. Just remembered ds2 is in our bed as we had to split the boys up for being naughty after they were put to bed this evening. (They were still awake and being naughty at 8.45 despite being put to bed at 7.30. ) That means transferring 2 dcs before I can crawl into bed. Oh what a pallaver!

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 23:10

Have deja vous.

Really badly! I'm sure you have said those things before

Have no suggestions either, sorry! Except sleep on couch? Crap I know.

moosemama · 14/10/2009 23:19

I reckon it must be Groundhog Day!

Tis OK, wasn't expecting suggestions, just whingeing as usual.

Right, am off to perform a double child transfer procedure.

Hope you manage to get some sleep soon.

Night!

treedelivery · 14/10/2009 23:22

Good luck old chap

elkiedee · 14/10/2009 23:51

C just woke up for a feed, hope we'll get a bit of peace now. He was in bed with me from 3.30 to 6 last night but I was asleep for a lot of that, have found a way to keep myself warm and covered up enough to sleep (I find it very hard to sleep not buried under a duvet even when it's warm).

elkiedee · 14/10/2009 23:51

Sleepy vibes to anyone who's still awake

treedelivery · 15/10/2009 00:07

Right back at ya baby! Hope he sleeps.......

VeryHungryLennipillar · 15/10/2009 00:24

No sleep here... boo hoo sob sob

treedelivery · 15/10/2009 00:25

Everyone asleep but me. I don't dare go to sleep incase I have to wake up....
