hi

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
moosemama · 08/10/2009 21:56

Excuse the double posting. The other one was all food related and it looked ridiculously huge (even for me) when I put everything in one post.

News sounds like a busy day. I had three school runs today, as ds1 does judo after school so I have to go back for him an hour after I collect ds2. BUT .... I snuck out and left dd with Mum and ds2 when I went to fetch ds1 and ...... she didn't cry!!!!! Result! Apparently she was so busy playing with her brother that she didn't notice I had gone. Unfortunately my parents are going on holiday for a fortnight tomorrow so we will have to start the whole process of settling her with Mum again when they come back.

I have nasty side effects from the erythromycin. I thought I was coming down with another bloomin' virus, but looked it up online and there is a whole forum dedicated to erythromcyin side effects. The gastro consultant said they would make me poorly and boy was he right. I've got bad stomach cramps, upset tum, weakness in my arms and legs a really foggy brain with that sort of not-quite-on-the-planet feeling. Bleugh. (Now you know why I can't get my brain in gear enough to shorted my posts.)

That porridge sounds amazing. Shame dd1 would have apoplexy if I made it I did make it with oat milk this week and she didn't notice

moosemama · 08/10/2009 22:02

Why would she have apoplexy? Does she like it made with just milk?

newspaperdelivery · 08/10/2009 22:20

...and with a swirl of golden srup......by her...in the dead centre.....

She has some control issues

moosemama · 08/10/2009 22:22

Don't blame her though. Porridge is definitely much nicer when its made with milk but I am a horrible mean mummy.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 08/10/2009 22:25

You lot have been busy

Have read almost all but in trying to remember all the fab food suggestions I've forgotten everything else.

Hello Elkie, Tea, Dog, EPPM and Stripey - nice to hear from all of you, was wondering how you were.

Velcro baby here too - he has started not liking me leaving his room at bedtime and wants to hold my hand while he falls asleep. If I leave his sight he sobs, but if I'm not there in the first place he doesn't mind a bit it does pass quickly with most - unfortunately DD is still a velcro baby at 2.9yo so I'm so used to it that I don't think I have any personal space anymore!

Sorry that lots still having crawling/teething/grumping babies. Lots of hugs and this too shall pass mantras.

Am feeling very inadequate in managing my DCs diets now I've heard all the wonderful meals you all make. OOI Moose, are the lentils cooked/soaked when you add them to lasagne etc. or not? And there was me thinking I could cook p'haps not.

VeryHungryLennipillar · 08/10/2009 22:45

Tree - I just looked at your photos of J's birthday on FB. Made me all warm and fuzzy, looked so lovely, and your family are all so gorgeous - yourself included. The party looked wonderful - who was the person doing it? (Also have to confess to being very of your kitchen!)

newspaperdelivery · 08/10/2009 22:47

moosemama · 08/10/2009 23:01

Oooh News that was naughty! I want one! I love Etsy, spent all day messing about on it when I was ill last week. Also like Misi.

Lenni I always pre-cook lentils before adding them to dishes, so that I can skim off the froth. I have read recipes where they said to just add them to the main mixture, but it doesn't feel right to me.

No lovely meals been made here for nearly three weeks now thanks to viruses and teeth. Poor dcs just get whatever is quickest/easiest (which is usually omelette/tortilla, pasta or risotto). In my defence the pasta sauce is home made though. Tonight ds1 had noodles and stir fry veg with dh and dd and ds2 had cheese on toast! (He won't eat noodles or spaghetti due to the frustration factor involved in getting them to stay on his fork. )

I love cooking, but just haven't felt up to it for ages now. Flippin' antibiotics have robbed me of my appetite as well now so I've only eaten 4 spoonfuls of bran flakes and half a cheese sandwich today.

newspaperdelivery · 08/10/2009 23:04

When you are better can my family eat at your family's house?
Those bags are fab Moose.

moosemama · 08/10/2009 23:16

I'd love you to News, but I fear tis a bit of a long way to come for tea.

Perhaps I could send you some food parcels instead.

Right, am off up the wooden hill to fall asleep over my incredibly lightweight Cecelia Ahern book. (I know, I know, but its romantic and easy to read and just about all my poor head can cope with at the moment.)

newspaperdelivery · 08/10/2009 23:20

God's speed up the mountain.

[will travel for food]

missjackson · 08/10/2009 23:31

MM all sounds so yummy. Fab lentil ideas. Must try harder!

tree GORGEOUS pics, and gorgeous gorgeous girls. Cake, table, presents - it all looked perfect. Lucky J. She looked happy too.

Off to bed now. Shhhh, sweet dreams, shhhhhh... those are my chosen 'key words' supposed to cue sleep... Am going to drag myself to his room and try to keep him in his cot (until 5am anyway) for TEN DAYS... if there is no improvement after that then we have agreed to buy massive 6 foot bed and happily co-sleep forever.

newspaperdelivery · 08/10/2009 23:35

I like that plan.

Good luck!
shhhhhh.............sweetdreams...........

Get the bed whatever happens, sounds fabby.

elkiedee · 09/10/2009 01:24

Thanks for advice. I'm not sure there's that much I can do before Tuesday, friends are coming to help clean up the house on Monday and if that works the house will feel nicer to be in regardless of SW.

LOL at idea of having another just to have another thread - though there were two other May 07 posters on this one.

newspaperdelivery · 09/10/2009 10:06

Thats lovely Elk, its always lovely having a shiny house. Seems easier to keep tidy then too.

dh new suit arrived. I dunno, its a bit 'office'. Rather than slick and dressy.

Waiting for binkbeds. They need to arrive by 11.50 as I then need to dash to manicure. I need H to sleep now too, as she can't later....

..I also need to do a table plan.

Lordy.

Hi all. dog spill the beans, what happened yesterday?

tea your bday the day after mine! And 3 years later, obviously . My OH not even here to cook for me as he is away doing his last big ride, but I have a nice friend and her 10 week old DS coming so that should be fun. Your veg sounds fab. Hate peeling butternut squash though. Irrational. Was just watching jamie at home and he adds vinegars to roast veg - will try next time.

elkie friends coming to help clean your house sounds fab! Wish I had friends like that.... I try to clean just one room each day, and stay on top of it that way. It's like a big weekly clean but spread out.

missjackson · 09/10/2009 20:20

tink yey for clothes. N is wearing all his 1 yr old boden clothes now. He looks so scrummy in his dungarees, I almost can't handle it .

newspaperdelivery · 09/10/2009 20:20

Evening all.

missjackson · 09/10/2009 20:24

tree I need this.
