Good grief, I am hanging today.
Committee meeting went on and on and on.......last night, got home at 10.30pm and fed Z till 11.15, then he awoke at 5.30 this morning and would NOT go back to sleep.
Also having second period since Z born, and it sucks.
Nice meet-up with gloucster MN girls this afternoon to make the most of the sunshine, but then DH not home till 7.15pm so dinner, bath and bed all a one-man show.
Hello to everyone, have read all I promise.
Freya is a lovely name, there are 2 at DD's playgroup and they are both pretty little things.
I also have velcro baby at the moment, so sympathise with stripey, tea and news. It's SO odd because he has never been like this and has always been very independent but it is the absolute end of the world if I walk away (or DH walks away or his keyworker at nursery goes to the toliet!!). It doesn't last long if I recall but it is soooooooo annoying.
Moose- Eeeek to gallstones! But so glad you have a diagnosis. My friend had hers out about 4mths ago and it has changed her life. She was in chronic pain for years and although the op wasn't pleasant and recovery took about a week, she saya its the best thing to have ever happened to her. Oh and my hair isstill falling out loads even after loads of trims, so you are not the only one.
Elkie- sending you some hugs, hope it all works out. I think news and moose had some very sound advice, as usual.
Tink- agree with tea that little pasta is the biggest rip-off going. I am not a great cook and don't have much time with working but have a few stock meals that work well with the kids. I don't worry about salt from cheese or bread but I don't add seasoning. I can make a good white sauce/cheese sauce/tomato sauce and these form the base for most of my meals. Lasagne/spag bol/veggie pasta/chilli/tortellini/meatballs with the tom sauce and fish pie/macaroni cheese/cheesy veg pasta with the white sauce. they also eat fahjitas, rissotto, roast dinner, omlette, curry, baked pots and salad, and my good old stand-by....mashed potato. Beans and cheese on toast is also good and Z loves stir-fry. DD likes cous-cous, rice and noodles but Z a bit little for them. At nursery Z eats EVERYTHING, they have had steak pie, cottage pie, pasta bake and pork fillet so far this week.
They both love salmon (in fish-fingers, fishcakes or flaked into pasta with philidelphia stirred in. Chicken or turkey goujons are another good stand-by as is homemade soup (from left-over veg blended). Frozen peas and frozen sweetcorn also a life-saver, chuck them in everything!
puddings are less varied: fresh fruit/fruit pots/ custard/ organic yoghurts/ rice pudding or little stars jelly every now and again.
Hope that helps.
