Boff - Eek, just read your update.

JJ - How was your night out?

Gui - I got my trust fund voucher back in July. Chase them.

Auld - I started reading pramgate on Sunday before Ellen was rushed to hospital. Must find out how it concluded.

Nutty - Good luck for 2.

Fei - Did you get an appointment? You really are having rotten luck.

Nutty - I will never forget T's birthday. She shares it with Ellen.
He's a spineless muppet.

Gui - In the hospital, the stronger doses were making her shake violently. And ramble like a nutter too. Most peculiar.

Off the top of my head Harold Shpman has the highest confirmed body count although Henry Lee Lucas and Ottis Toole claimed to have killed more people.

Ed Kemper was 6 feet 9.

PuzzleRocks · 01/10/2009 11:52

BB - I'm like that too. It makes you acutely aware of being their mother doesn't it. Suddenly the whole world could go to shit for all I cared, I just wanted my baby better.

BoffinMum · 01/10/2009 12:25

pumping so 1 handed

now have implant in

nutty he is an uber knob

have i won the award for first april mum to let her baby roll off the bed with a sickening thump? for that happened this morning. in my defence ds2 was right by him and supposed to be supervising while i put my lippy on, but he got distracted by his new pokemon cards.

BoffinMum · 01/10/2009 12:26

he is ok btw. just shocked and tearful.

Swaliswan · 01/10/2009 12:30

Boff, I'll never forget the time that DD1 did that. I screamed louder than she did

Yikes Boff, what are we to do with them now? Pad the walls and floors until they can be trusted not to do silly things like launching themselves off furniture? Maybe futons are the way forward after all...

JumeirahJane · 01/10/2009 12:33

And I have tiles floors throughout, I dread the day...

AuldAlliance · 01/10/2009 12:50

Beat ya, Boff. On Sat I dozed off during a dawn feed and awoke to a horrible thump and strange rustle, accompanied by screams. A had rolled all the way to the other side of the bed and fallen off onto a pile of newspapers DH is too lazy to tidy away thoughtfully stockpiling for just such an enventuality.

It's all gone tits up here, just popping in to say great news about your DD Puzzle. So glad.

Swaliswan · 01/10/2009 13:02

All gone tits up here too. B is getting up every couple of hours at night. Weaning is a joke. I tried some BLW with her yesterday as she loves proper food so much and dislikes the spoon. We won't be trying that again. You know what they say about noisy choking being OK, but silent choking is when you spring into action. Well, thank God I didn't just stare at B and make silly comments about her choking silently as DH did I have never removed B so quickly from her bumbo before and I've never had to properly slap a baby on the back to dislodge an obstruction before. Thankfully she seems to be accepting the spoon a bit better since the choking incident

beat, you too boff, K sis that about 6 weeks ago - (I didn't tell anyone in rl either as I was very ashamed about falling asleep!) thankfully it was more of a slip than fall and landed on his front and was mostly protected by his nappy - he was more shocked than hurt!

OK girls anyone know anyone in scotland, midlands or NE who could have time off at the beginning of November to do an week-long media experiment with us (you have to live on a state pension and nothing else for a week). Have to be over 26 - couples can do it (but would have to be without kids for a week as it's not fair on them!!) Any ideas - you get £500 per person for taking part!

BabyBolat · 01/10/2009 13:14

sorry for the many many mistakes in that post x

Swaliswan · 01/10/2009 13:15

I'd love to get my FIL to take part but I don't think he'd be up for it, BB. His comment when he saw the traditional Victorian terrace that we are buying was 'does it go back a long way, only you normally think of houses as having a room either side of the front door' Well if we lived up in Ayr, then we would be able to afford a nice four bed detached house but we live in Southampton where we can afford little more than a shoe box! (And yes, it does go back a long way and it has a bigger garden than his house, so there!)

BabyBolat · 01/10/2009 13:27

ha ha!!! brilliant! I wish he could do it too!!

oh forgot to say they have to be under 40 - my parents would have no chance!!! mind you i'm not sure i could either when you take away bills etc hmmm

Feierabend · 01/10/2009 13:40

Hello hello, just a quick one, took H to doc's again and she has another 5 days of ABx. Just to make sure the nasty streps are all dead. We'll also keep going with the antifungal cream, as well as some antiseptic moisturiser in case there IS a bit of eczema after all (I am getting so bored with this I can't tell you). Didn't take DD1 as her rash had got slightly better overnight, but I asked and he said I could use Canesten without seeing anyone but to come back if it got worse / didn't improve.

Off for a walk in the park with H now. Puzzle, if it was my dd1 I would keep her inside because outside she'd run around and make herself worse again. Maybe the garden for a little while though, if you want her to have fresh air? All fingers crossed she'll feel much better in the next few days.

BB, that trip to the hospital with Kara does sound terrifying.

Feierabend · 01/10/2009 13:43

Swali, Auld, sorry to hear about stressful times! I did a baby first aid course and was the only one in our group who absolutely couldn't dislodge the bit of plastic in the doll's throat when they made us practice first aid for choking.

DD1 fell off her highchair backwards onto the tiled kitchen floor a few months ago. See if anyone can beat that!

BabyBolat · 01/10/2009 13:59

Ouch Fei! Bless DD1 were there lots of tears???

I really want to do a baby first aid course - where did you do it?

AuldAlliance · 01/10/2009 14:05

BB, am scouring around for ideas.
Frekkles will know someone for sure.

I have bronchitis, as does DS1. Last night broke the records for hellish nights, as I woke A up with my hacking cough, had a terrible fever and drenched my bedding and PJs several times over, and had to keep getting up to see DS1 who had a similar fever and alternated between crying and wittering in febrile manner about how what he really likes is things that come out of the fridge (ice, ice cream, ice lollies, cold drinks. Poor thing was burning up. ) And of course every time I woke A up he thought a snack was a good plan.

I now have a truly French prescription the length of my arm, DS1 is on antibiotics and I am on sick leave till Mon. Accomplished one sodding class on Tuesday and am now off sick...great start to the academic year!

AuldAlliance · 01/10/2009 14:08

Have gingersarah and bebemoo gone on holiday or summat?

BabyBolat · 01/10/2009 14:11

Ouch Auld - get better soon x

PuzzleRocks · 01/10/2009 14:17

Poor you Auld. It must be very tough looking after an unwell toddler when you are feeling rotten yourself.

Ha. I decided not to take Ellen out and now my Mum has announced she is going for a walk. Cabin fever.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 01/10/2009 14:34

Ha Feier, I see your high chair tumble and raise you....one DS1 toppling forwards from a standing position in his Tripp Trapp (i.e. standing on the seat) onto a tiled floor on our first day in this house. He must have been about 18 months and I couldn't find his harness in the kitchen boxes, so thought 'he never stands up in his chair, I'll just pop him in and get his tea'....

Amazing all our children survive, isn't it!

Puzzle so so glad Ellen is on the mend, we were all thinking of you lots. Keep her wrapped up and spoiled with Cbeebies and snacks, plenty of time for going out another day if you ask me.

Auld you poor thing - hope you feel better soon.

Sorry no more time to catch up must pack must pack must PACK!

PuzzleRocks · 01/10/2009 14:41

Oh she is being thoroughly spoiled by Granny. I have to confess though, she has no idea what cbeebies is. She does like movies though. Her current faves are Dr Seuss' Horton Hears A Who, Project X, and erm.. Titanic (it has swearing, my Mum was not impressed). She loves Jack though, what can i do.

Forgive me WFH, where are you going?

BabyBolat · 01/10/2009 14:50

Oh Puzzle now I love Ellen even more!! I love all those films myself - room for another one to come and watch DVDs and be spoilt by granny???

It's funny how they (granny's) react isn't it - apparently my mum was horrendous waiting to hear news while we were away and K was in hospital and even now she is wanting to cancel her holiday tomorrow so she can stay with us (I wont let her) - I've even had to promise I will stay at her house for the entire two weeks because it is bigger and there are more neighbours etc around (never mind that DH will be back home at work!!) but I don't think she would have gone if I didn't promise to stay here. Although she may be regretting it now K's crap (and mine) is all over the place!!!
