I hope that this will do you all as the last thread ran out.

Let the fun and chocolate eating commence...

Nutts, even I am a bit bored of nookie at the moment. DH has still got the aftermath of the flu he had on holiday, and I have a prolapse like a third leg. Puts you off a bit. That having been said, we both got a nice seeing to at the weekend. Once I had stopped being cross with him.

Swaliswan · 30/09/2009 08:01

LOL you two! We've only had sex twice in the past six months Maybe I shouldn't get overambitious and should just offer sex twice a week for the year? I quite like the idea of sex everyday though but goodness only knows where I'm going to get the energy from with nights from hell causing sleep deprivation

Morning ladies,
Hope we get some good news from Puzzle soon.

DH has kindly passed on to me his foul, phlegmy, chesty cough, so I feel even grimmer than before. And A has decided that night time is party time: he woke me up at 1am to feed, but then woke up again around 3:30, fed on and off till 4, and then was really, really wide awake till about 6. It is now 9am, he's sleeping soundly and DS1 is playing cafés, bringing me plates of dead leaves from my neglected ficus plant.

Swali, the idea of sex every day for a year is just exhausting, frankly. Fortunately DH is feeling a bit crap with this cold: last night he vaguely muttered about how it would be a shame if we didn't have a sex life, and then yawned hugely and went to sleep in his study, where he has been sleeping since A began all this night time nonsense.

WFH, nice to have you back. Your weaning list is impressive. Sorry about your disastrous weekend in London.

Springy, what film(s) did you watch last night then?

mrsgboring · 30/09/2009 08:12

Morning all

Just checking in - still majorly behind with a crazy day ahead of me (it's Nearly New Sale season round here )

Sex every day for a year?

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 08:29

Morgen!

I have not had my Trust Fund vouchers. Is this normal?

Swali - how about offering sex 'every year, for a day' instead

WFH - at Angry Arm (which just makes me think of Mrs Potato Head packing Mr Potato Head's "Angry Eyes"). Does anyone watch House? Last episode of season 5 actually features a man who has Naughty Hand!

Though I Have Not Started weaning, H has had little tasters of: Banana (sometimes yummy, sometimes pulls a 'sucking lemon' face), apple (just a lick), tomato (sucked it like a dummy), plum (seemed to like, but nappy did not), cucumber (cried every time he dropped it) and broccoli (meh, more interested in chewing his bib). Had he been born on his due date, he would be 26 weeks today, so hopefully his gut is ready to go. Sitting up is still some way off though. At the moment he sits with us at the table in his pushchair, with the seat almost upright, but if I put it completely upright he leans forwards and can't get back again.

I don't think I'll ever be able to stop night feeds. He takes a fair bit of milk in the night, but he's still ready to eat again half to an hour after getting up. There's no way I could just cut out those extra calories. Ho hum. Perhaps I could wean him solely on avocado smeared with mascarpone? And maybe some porridge made with double cream?

AuldAlliance · 30/09/2009 08:42

Hello, Gui.
Lol at alternative gift suggestion.

If anyone has 15 mins to spare, this is a deeply and strangely fascinating thread. Read page 1 and flick to page 3 for the photo if you really don't have time. I love MN!

Bicnod · 30/09/2009 08:42

LOL at Gui 'sex every year, for a day' - sounds much more doable to me Swali, we've only done it twice in the past 6 months too - I think sleep deprivation and breastfeeding combine to make a potent passion killer.

I'm planning to start swapping breast feeds for formula feeds once O turns 6 months (that's less than 1 month away) and am hoping my energy levels/libido will increase as a result.

WFH - sorry about your nightmare weekend I am very very impressed with your weaning list. Oscar is still chomping his way through (now lumpy) purees at the rate of knots. I gave him a rice cake a couple of days ago which went straight in his mouth and he started sucking on it but DH made me take it off him in case he choked... was he being over cautious?

Gui - I got O's trust fund vouchers months ago. Maybe give them a call to find out what's going on? The helpline number is 0845 302 1470.

Anyone heard from Puzzle?

Feierabend · 30/09/2009 09:03

Well I DREAMT I had sex last night. Much better option really because you can do it in your sleep

Any news from Puzzle?

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 09:42

Auld - Which photo, where? The pushchairs? I don't understand!

Feierabend · 30/09/2009 09:43

Gui, look at the most recent posts. She did take a photo of pram in hallway and posted it.

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 09:50

Aha. Found picture! lol (and I don't often lol!)

Feierabend · 30/09/2009 09:53

It's not as bad as I first thought though - could have been one of those ridiculous old fashioned Silver Cross prams. Imagine a 2 year old in one of those!

Feierabend · 30/09/2009 09:54

H is eating the Toast catalogue... why won't she have baby rice instead?

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 09:58

That's not to say that I don't often actually laugh out loud in RL, like some kind of humourless puritan. Just not a virtual lol-er.

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 09:59

Maybe she'd heard about how yummy toast is, and wants to give it a go?

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 10:00

H enjoyed a nice chomp on my Jojo catalogue. Must be a stage!

Feierabend · 30/09/2009 10:01

Do you let him? I don't really want her to swallow any paper.

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 10:08

Well, he kind of chews on the corner for a while, but then I take it off him. Have you ever done that thing where you pop a letter or something between your lips for a moment, while you do something else with your hands, and then remove the item from your mouth, taking a layer of the skin off your lips? Worry about that happening with catalogue sucking! It really hurts!

Does that make me sound like a loon?

If she does swallow any paper, it will just go through. I do believe humans are unable to digest cellulose.

Guimauve · 30/09/2009 10:10

I also worry about being neurotic about not letting him chomp stuff, so generally try to relax and let him chomp on most things he can get his hands on!

AuldAlliance · 30/09/2009 10:29

Gui, I'm more worried about the nastiness of inks than the paper itself. Probably a bit neurotic...
Have just bought a teething ring to go in fridge, not convinced of its usefulness really.

The pram in hall thread was kind of fascinating as I was trying to work out if the OP was reasonable or slightly OTT about the pram. But the picture swung it for me. It's not a huge pram, but it's a mighty small hallway.

BoffinMum · 30/09/2009 10:36

Auld, be worried about the paper colour instead! We gave my colleague's daughter erd paper to chew on and it went straight through. Her dad had a heart attack when he did her nappy!

AuldAlliance · 30/09/2009 10:44

Yikes, Boff!

Bit of feedback from your parcel; teetha powder more popular with the young man than A&P; gum gel a definite hit. Rice stuff to be used next weekend when the great wean occurs.
Waiting to wean before trying bickiepegs, but am dying to do so. They are made in Aberdeen, so feel a patriotic urge to import them to Provence.
Thanks again for all the stuff! Do let me know if there's a make of olive that's nicer. Or maybe the supermarket has less perfectionist storage methods?
