I hope that this will do you all as the last thread ran out.

Let the fun and chocolate eating commence...

B is like that too, but I wouldn't expect anything more from her yet.

I'm off to try and unlatch a baby for five minutes to have a shower.

Swaliswan · 29/09/2009 11:24

BTW, thanks for the cadburys. I'm sure it will make excellent milk.

Is anybody else who expresses getting a huge fat layer like gold top milk atm?

OP posts:
AuldAlliance · 29/09/2009 11:26

I have just done my first expressing session in the nurse's office at work. A bit tricky at first, I think the folded stretcher and waiting wheelchair were not quite what was needed to stimulate milk, but have now a bottle of 125mls sealed in a plastic bag in the staff fridge.

I suppose even if the milk is useless, the expressing will help maintain production?

But there's a "help yourself to free condoms" display just by the room where I express; if I wasn't so concerned the students would see me, I'd fill my pockets...

Guimauve · 29/09/2009 11:29

Okay weaners (snigger) - talk to me about poo consistency in the early stages! H has only had a mump on a couple of bits of fruit - he sucked a bit of tomato on Sunday, of which I don't think any went down, and a piece of plum, some of which has passed through - yesterday's poo normal, today's poo very watery. Normal reaction to exciting new things entering the gut, do you think? He is otherwise absolutely fine and full of chatter and wiggles. Do you think plum was a bad idea?

Breastfeeding mother hardly a good advert for the free condoms Or you could sit there and say "I didn't help myself, and look what happened to me!" They'd all be gone by the end of the day!

NellyNoKnicks · 29/09/2009 11:43

Hello again all, not really had much to report, hence me not posting. (haven't read the whole thread so apologies)

J is 6 months on sunday, and has been having 3 meals a day for the past week. He hasn't slept through for weeks (aargh) but is now sitting really well, rolling over a lot more now, has discovered that shouting is the best way to communicate - whether he's happy or upset and if his teeth dont come through soon, i'm going to go in there and get them through myself.... all the dribbling and constant munching on stuff, must be murder.

I think plum has a really laxative effect on little uns which is probably why the nappy was quite loose.

Libido = non-existent (although glad to know I'm not alone in this).

Hope you're all well

Guimauve · 29/09/2009 11:45

You're probably right Nelly - plums/ prunes fabulous for adult bowels, but maybe a bit much for little ones'!

dawntigga · 29/09/2009 11:58

Swali you may recall I did ask if anyone else was having a growth spurt a few days ago. And it's still going on!!!!!!

Anyone else coping with head twisting with teeth whilst bf'ing? Any ideas on how to stop the little sod angel from doing it. Taking him off, saying no in a stern voice etc. aren't doing anything!

NellyNoKnicks · 29/09/2009 11:58

Maybe you could balance it up with banana which does the opposite

BoffinMum · 29/09/2009 12:38

Quick hello.

Ended up in A and E with menorrhagia, but hve tablets, so OK now. Did lose about a pint of blood though, and was white as a sheet. Feeling a bit drained and milk supply a bit low.

Now, where are those condoms?????

Guimauve · 29/09/2009 12:55

Crikey, Boff, not surprised you feel drained! Hope DH is looking after you and feeding you lots of cake iron-rich food.

Cripes Boff, I think you deserve all the chocolate today to restore your energy.

Tigga, though I don't have to contend with teeth just yet, I find the head pulling/twisting lessens if I lie down with M at my side, rather than sitting up with her the crook of my elbow. I fear it'll be a good while before the little sods darlings will understand the word 'no'.

Oh does banana really cause blockage? That explains the 6 days of wet-only nappies then, silly mummy .

Auld - thanks , I have added to my Amazon wishlist.

So, I'm going out tonight, out tonight, out tonight!!! Only to the sailing club for a bite to eat and to catch up with friends we haven't seen in a while, and I am designated driver, but out is out, right?

Ps Libido is fine but doesn't even figure in the equation, as lack of sleep rather dictates a bedtime preference for zzzzzzzzzzz over naughties.

BoffinMum · 29/09/2009 13:07

I actually went back to work (there now) but I am not at my most productive. I feel very odd indeed.

Nutty, I had it too - Trans-something acid and Mefenamic Acid.

I can't take my anti-inflammatories at the same time so my hips are hurting now.

I am scared about having period number 2 if this is going to keep happening. The women doctor is only there Mon/Tues/Wed and I am in work on those days so can't see her.
