Apollo 13? We started watching it on holiday and then the video broke! Just as it started to get hairy!

La Boum with Sophie Marceau - that was big big big in Germany, but probably not over here?

Puzzle, keep us posted. Hope your DD is doing OK.

Never heard of La Boum, Feier. Off to google.

OddEyes · 28/09/2009 14:50

hello, hello ladies!
so nice to come and catch up, like having a cup of tea at an old friends. what happened to those yummy days of getting into bed with mumsnet!
how is everyone, nice to see the same old crew around. some new faces, hello, and some name changes(?) can't work those out. sorry nutty for your troubles and bb for your foot. am sure i have missed loads. will keep skipping back through the pages.
Elle is 6 months on friday, 6 months ago I was being drowned in RLT and having too much sex! Anyone else had the breastfeeding effect on libido? Elle is now BLW and a happy little sitting girl.
I am recovering from having held of weaning so long - ds learnt the phrase 'grumpy mummy' and used it alot! Slowly starting to get an established playgroup and meetup routine going but finding hard as the other SAHM have been doing it for a lot longer and all feels a little cliquey - just want ds to have some regular playmates and to chat with an adult!
hope everyone else survived or is surviving the 1st six months.

Feierabend · 28/09/2009 15:19

Hello OddEyes, nice to see you and glad to hear things are going well! I know what you mean about the cliquy thing.

Hmmmmm. Just made some sweet potato and squash puree for the freezer. H looked very excited so I thought I'd let her try a bit. She didn't like it DD1 would have wolfed this down. Am getting a bit desperate to wean H now as she's waking up three times again to feed, and has been on the boob a LOT today. I am shattered!

Feierabend · 28/09/2009 15:23

Oh. Libido. Non existent!

JumeirahJane · 28/09/2009 15:25

hello oddeyes lovely to meet you

omg the big blue, makes me want to cry just thinking about it, especially as I couldn't find it on dvd after we got rid of the video . Probably better that it remains firmly in my hormone-riddled teenage memories. Likewise Breakfast Club.

SpringySponge · 28/09/2009 16:05

Oh Puzzle Everyone is in the wars at the moment, aren't they? I'm sending vibes as hard as I can.

Feier, I'll be here a bit more now, don't worry! I miss you all!

I've seen When Harry Met Sally, but again, a very long time ago & I barely remember it. I've seen Cruel Intentions so many times

Never seen The Sure Thing. Or even heard of it! Nor St Elmo's Fire, The Outsiders, Rumble Fish, Le Grand Bleu...

I saw Pulp Fiction the first (& only time) rather recently . Never seen The English Patient. I think I've seen Gosford Park, but have no memory of it. & somehow have never seen Thelma & Louise.

No to Breakfast Club, but I have seen Apollo 13. No to La Boum. I told you I've never seen anything anyone else has

OddEyes! Hello! I'm about to start a proper routine of my own now I have uni to base it around - it's the cliquey aspect that scares me though! Still, we're all fabulous Fanjo Warriors & can overcome such trivialities

My libido was never affected by BFing. I'm still mix feeding & in fact have less of a sex drive now than ever - as the BFing lessens slightly! I think that may be because of the ADs though.

I get to go & pick George up in 25 minutes! I've had a really good day of mostly sitting around reading horrendously trashy magazines (I bought Take a Break & Pick Me Up for the first time ever - so bad!) & window shopping, but I can't wait to have my baby back safely after his first day with a virtual stranger. I cried a little bit this morning, even though I know it's the overall best thing.

Despite that, it is good to be able to get things done / do absolutely nothing as the mood takes me.

AuldAlliance · 28/09/2009 16:48

JJ you know you want to...
And Springy put down those trashy mags and start watching some films! Am a bit that you have so much fun and tears yet to be experienced...

Feierabend · 28/09/2009 19:34

The movie that made me cry most was The House of Spirits. I cried pretty much from start to finish! Springy if you haven't seen those films, what exactly have you done with your life so far?

Now where is that husband of mine. Doing bedtime on my own always leaves me a nervous wreck and I want my pizza, and I want it NOW!

AuldAlliance · 28/09/2009 19:46

The House of Spirits? I've never heard of it.

Just remembered the Lost Boys, on this tripdown memory lane.

Feier, I hate doing bedtime alone. I love weekends as DH does DS1 while I do Alex.

Today it went OK, though. Off to wash up now...

OMG - 17 pages of new thread to wade through... that'll teach me to go on holiday for 2 weeks

Holiday was fab - lots of sun, long walk, pasties and cream teas fanjo-stylee...

Oscar update - we now have a tooth (ouch) and he slept through from 7pm to 7am last night for the first time EVER. Hurrah. I should imagine its a one off, and of course I didn't sleep through the night, but fingers crossed things are heading in the right direction.

Will do mammoth catch up over next few days - haven't read a word of thread as off to bed now...

Love to all - I've missed you girlies

Sorry - didn't mean to post twice

AuldAlliance · 29/09/2009 07:52

Hello, Bicnod, welcome back! Glad you had a good holiday. Hope you had another good night last night.

Ladies, can you rustle up all your convincing arguments so that I can defend myself (and A) against DH's attempts to convince me that I should do cc with A to get him to sleep through. Yes, I am knackered, but no, I don't think that is the solution. I need some tougher arguments than that, though, and am too tired to muster them.
First seminar today, after a very disturbed night! Should be 'interesting' .

Feierabend · 29/09/2009 08:41

Hi Auld. Sorry to hear about bad night. Same here - after 3 weeks of sleeping quite nicely H is back to feeding at 2am, 4.30 am, 6am. Bicnod:

I would LIKE to do controlled crying actually but not until she's on 3 meals a day / over 6 months old. I believe that she may genuinely need the feeds at the moment. I think once a baby is well over 6 months, and eating solids, the thinking is that they don't need those feeds any more and that's when it's okay to try and night wean them. I hope that she'll spare me (and herself) the CC by just starting to sleep longer in a few weeks time!

Secondly, I am worried that she'll wake DD1 up with her crying. And I really don't want to have two dcs to deal with in the middle of the night. BUT I will go down that route if all else fails, because frankly I have had it with those night feeds now!

dawntigga · 29/09/2009 09:07

Waves to all, the lurgy has passed

Can somebody catch me up?????

SmoochesTiggaxx

Guimauve · 29/09/2009 09:34

Hmmm, well....

Puzzle's DD1 is in hosp with a resp tract infection, so we are sending vibes

The prodigals have returned (Nutty, Springy, BB - who has a broken foot)

Bicnod is back from her hols

Oddeyes has popped in to say hi!

Springy has not watched any classic films

CC may or may not be on the agenda

We may or may not have the hots for the entire male cast of True Blood and/ or various James Bonds

What else...?

Guimauve · 29/09/2009 09:35

Today is my 2nd wedding anniversary! Also Michaelmas, though apparently we're okay picking blackberries until Old Michaelmas (phew).
