Scorps, I think if it were me I'd not make a big deal of it (which I'm sure you're not anyway) and not worry too much. I agree, she prob 'knows' that there are things changing, and just needs the extra reassurance. Maybe she's coming down with something? George is always extra clingy when he is.

I reckon a pile of books next to you on the sofa when you're feeding Maisie is the way to go, then Mimi can snuggle right in next to you and you can share a book or 2 while Maisie guzzles away. That way she won't feel 'pushed out' while you're feeding. Probably if you do that for a bit, she'll gradually just start to do her own thing at feeding times because she won't feel the need to attention seek.

Give R the meds, Sal!! George has been having lots of them for about a week now, teeth, horrid cold/cough , bit of a temp and who knows what else... I tend to alternate them so he has calpol then neurofen 4 hours after if he needs it, then calpol again the next time. So even if he needs something every 4 hours, he's only had each thing every 8 hours iyswim. The way I look at it, if I had toothache or anything else ache, I'd take painkillers to take it away so I could sleep. Nothing worse than not being able to sleep because of something hurting is there?

SuperSoph73 · 30/11/2009 16:35

Scorps - would you speak to me again if I told you that it's absolutely peeing down and has been like that on and off all day??? I can't even see the mountains opposite as the cloud's obscured them Don't think my washing's going to be dry by the time I get home, do you?

Scorps · 30/11/2009 16:58

I will commit to sporadic contact then, because it's raining alot here and the wind is so strong it blew over some telegraph poles!

I have bought strawberry fabric conditioner and it smells amazing. Dh will love me lol!

Ooh, so Chrismas trees are going up already, then? I'm going to copy Soph's husband and do the same then [big child emoticon]

It is absolutely freezing here. Don't think the heating makes much difference! (And I'm slouching around looking like a hobo in tracksuit pants and fleecy top already! R asleep, so perhaps a hot bath with warm me up.

Scorps · 01/12/2009 14:24

Sal it's the first, Xmas things are allowed now! I bought a new white tree amd jewel coloured decs yesterday, ready for tonoght

36+4 now, Yawn. Panicking that i could have an ACTUAL, yes a REAL ACTUAL baby in 2 weeks possibly!

MistergodthisisSal · 01/12/2009 14:31

not sure where to fit in a tree in the hellhouse that is also called my home , but will have to do it today, I love Christmas!

Scorps · 01/12/2009 14:32

B&Q do slimline ones, you could just get one of those and then you only have to make a little bit of room

OP posts:
MistergodthisisSal · 01/12/2009 14:35

Nonononono, it has to be a proper tree! (Ignoring the total impracticality thereof, the waste, the space, the cost...) I love the smell of Christmas trees, you see. Maybe I can just hide the mess under the tree. (Or pretend it's "ironic" decorations??)

Scorps · 01/12/2009 14:41

I love real ones too, just i think a little impractical maybe with the dcs. Mimi will probably eat the tree anyway and i don't want to have to hoover up the needles all the frigging time. Fake for the next few years then when dd2 is about 2 a real one!!

So miserable here but i have to go out and get boys and my friends dd, my friend is poorly

OP posts:
MistergodthisisSal · 01/12/2009 14:51

Yes, the needles prob the thing that puts me off most. Hmm, will see how I feel when we go shopping for one - prob this weekend, realistically. My balancing skills, good as they are lately, will prob not stretch as fas as to include a christmas tree on top of the buggy!

Scorp, good luck with the kids! Is there no-one that can help you? Especially with the additional girl? Is your friend ok?

My friend was due to have a baby in 2 weeks... and had her little boy on Sunday morning! I SO want to go and visit, but know how precious and busy those first couple of days are, so am instead sitting here dying to see the baby!

Scorps · 01/12/2009 16:18

Oh i can manage the kids fine My friend has been quite poorly with her head, had to have scans and lumbar puncture and shes just not really getting better(been about 10 days already), although they can't pinpoint anything. She is really bad and can't move very much, even.

OP posts:
MistergodthisisSal · 01/12/2009 16:26

Oh poor thing, hope they find out what it is soon. All these tests are really draining too, as if she's not feeling bad enough.

Soph, where are you today? Hope not completely washed away, we not that jealous!

And all you other ladies? Everything ok and well?

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 12:24

Christmas name

Morning, everybody. Where are you??

KnitterInTheNW · 02/12/2009 13:17

Hi Sal! I've been trying to put up christmas decs at the same time as looking after George. = not a good idea! He's in bed now and I've just managed to have a shower. I want a christmas name, but the only ones I can think of are far too lang and they won't let me have them! I want something to do with knitting a hideous xmas jumper or something...

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 13:45

Whoo hoooo, hello Knitter! Where did you disappear to? This RL thing is highly overrated, I got worried and everything!

Hmm, Christmas name, will try and think of something... I'm a bit rubbish with names, but quite like this one.

R at nursery today, so I have to do proper cleaning today - def not working so well when he's "helping", haha.

Funniest thing (really bad mom for laughing at this, I know) happening at the moment: Dh left a box of Lindor chocolates on the ground the other day, and R took a couple, stashing them somewhere!!! So for the last couple of days, every now and again he'll appear half covered in chocolate, trying to suck it through the paper! I've given him a little piece yesterday and ate binned the rest, didn't tell dh, and apparently he came marching up to dh this morning for one to be opened! I suspect it's in his lego box - off to go investigate now!

SuperSoph73 · 02/12/2009 15:02

Afternoon all.

Love that name Sal. As you can see I didn't get washed away, was actually quite busy at work .... BTW, you can real Christmas trees that don't shed don't ya know, you should get one of those. LOL at the chocolate thief

My friend's baby is due today. I've promised that I won't phone her until at least a week after due date if I haven't had a message saying she's had her. Don't know whether I've got the patience though. I used to hate it when people used to ask me "nothing happening yet??" Only got this with DS1 though as Sam was born on his due date

Have hideous bruises on my left buttock now that I've had the second treatment on my ligament. He still wants me to keep going but am going to see how I go first!

I can never think of Christmas names either, will have to put serious thought into it!

SuperSoph73 · 02/12/2009 15:03

get real Christmas trees .... doh!

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 15:49

Soph, I dare you - go for a massage, but don't explain the buttock bruises - just laugh, mumble something about randy dh, and ask to massage around that area instead.

On a serious note: I know it's painful, but perhaps try and complete the treatment. Having broken both my legs when I was small, I had to go to physio 3 times a week whilst they "stretched" my muscles again after not walking for months, so I sympathise with the pain! It'll be worth it in the end though, you don't want to still struggle with this injury for years to come.

Peachy · 02/12/2009 15:55

Dunno what it is with Ebay but after Scorps ahd problems Dh is getting them a plenty, incluidng someone who let her ex use it to sell DH a unit beyond salvation (AKA had obviously been given a good kicking before sending), and another who got us to return the item and won't refund. Effing gits!.

Grrr.

Scorps, don'tworry about Mimi, they do cope honest- and you will find ways. Remember Mimi will be yough for a bit but also will befascinated by baby & also by general Christmassy stuff.

Haven't done decs yet but we have a B&Q pop up tree so will tkae ooooh ten minutes if we go slow LOL. Its ds1's 1oth birthday tomorrow though so concentrating on that fist.

Peachy · 02/12/2009 15:57

Oh and physio- I have scar tissue on my spine and after lots of issues had physi (including 3 months unable to walk more than 50 yards when I was 23). She found my legs were different lengths (just call me freak ) and the treatment basically invovled stretching my legs weekly whilst i screamed but touch wood no recurrences yet.

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 16:03

Hi Peachy, lovely to see you again, missed you.

The leg thing is weird, isn't it - until then I never knew you could actually stretch limbs. For years (after I got past the fact that I cried for 45 minutes every other day..) I wanted to be a physio, thought they're the best people in the world.

Good luck on the birthday preparations.

SuperSoph73 · 02/12/2009 16:11

RouchOouchFouchLouch

It's more about money at the moment though. I'll just take it easy & I can always go in the hols if need be.

Peachy - lovely to see you again. Wow, a pop-up Christmas tree, is it as easy to use as it sounds though?

The Headmaster has just come into the Library and asked if I could smell burning paper (WTF!) I then realised that what he could smell was my cappuccino ... we're not supposed to have hot drinks anywhere other than the Staffroom. Fortunately it was out of his line of vision so think I got away with that one

SuperSoph73 · 02/12/2009 16:12

Bugger ... that didn't work now did it

MisSalToeKisses · 02/12/2009 16:19

Hahahaha Soph, you really should drink your cappuccino's a little weaker if they smell like burning paper!

Ah fair enough, if it costs you money (sorry, didn't think there), then you could see if it heals on it's own - just try and do any exercises that / if you've been given. And yes, you're right, if it doesn't improve, you can always go back. For the bruising, try arnica oil / ointment if you can get it. Really good.

SuperSoph73 · 02/12/2009 16:22

Good God no ... weaker ... I've got 30 kids in here for an hour

I'll try the arnica, thanks. I did the stomach exercises last night & this morning and I've rediscovered muscles I thought had left long long ago
