Good morning and a good week for everyone.

Good weekends all around?

I'm lazy, and wish I could do the pre-child thing of just staying in bed until 12 under warm, fluffy duvet... Hmm, it's possibly only me that often did that when on leave/weekend/holiday, but still.

SuperSoph73 · 16/11/2009 15:09

Hi all. Sal - no, that's what I used to do pre-babies and every now and then I think what I wouldn't give to be able to do it every now and then. Hey ho, such is life.

Had nice weekend. Took the boys out for a walk on Sat & Sun our friend came round for lunch. She's 38 weeks pregnant & looking like it too She looks well though & is all ready for the off, LOL.

The physio told me to cut out all dairy products last week & I was rooting through our cupboards this morning to try and find something to take to work for my lunch and it was practically impossible. I'd never really considered how many things contain dairy. Bloody nightmare Am off for my 2nd course of acupuncture tomorrow so I'm going to ask him how strict I have to be. Surely a little bit of dairy once a week can't hurt ... can it?

MMTM - hey there, nice to see you back. Pleased about you and DHs' jobs & Gigi just sounds adorable. Sam can administer a fairly healthy whack as well sometimes. We're trying to do the same as you - hugging not hitting and also stroking the face rather than delivering a left hook to it

Ellie - good news about the house

MistergodthisisSal · 16/11/2009 16:32

Hey Soph. Why the no dairy? (Just nosy.)

I took R to Boppin Bunnies today... twice. Got my times wrong, and went to the 1:30 class by mistake first, so had to hang around a coffee shop for an hour for our actual class to start. Not that I don't like coffees, obv, but was strange all unprepared (don't like being on my own without a book) whilst R was playing with his toys and ignored me straight out!

KnitterInTheNW · 16/11/2009 18:06

You get to read a book in a coffee shop Sal? G would be either off out the door or climbing onto my lap to be read to...

MistergodthisisSal · 16/11/2009 18:10

Ah no Knitter, most of the time same, but on the odd occasion that he's happily playing along on his own, he gets irritated if I "interrupt" (pushes my hands off his book/car etc). Hence the book. So as I weren't allowed to play with, I kind of ended up staring at my coffee, lol! Such a missed magazine / newspaper opportunity!

KnitterInTheNW · 16/11/2009 18:24

That's alright then! And just typical, huh?

EllieG · 16/11/2009 19:59

Hey ladies!
Thanks for friendly words scorps and knitter, was weirdly over-worrying about slightly less friendly advice received and that was terrible mummy etc but am reassured now!

scorps - both bags nice

I went on a diet today which lasted until I saw the pile of chocolate biscuits available on the course am on this week. And the cake at lunchtime. And the pile of sausage and mash I ate for tea. And the glass of wine am drinking now.

But I am very contented, if rather full, so that's OK.

No advice re India trips, though am feeling somewhat envious of you having the predicament, what with the expense of the house thing, the furthest I am going to be going is a walk down the road and back!

Denny - did you wear the kids out eventually?
I love muddy walks - Mol has new wellies and waterproof trousers and loves puddle-jumping

Am still chuckling a bit to myself about Mimi in the toilet whenever I think about it, in fact it made snort a bit today when my mind wandered on course, and had to pretend I coughed

Scorps · 16/11/2009 20:03

Ellie you should have seen her face she was delighted!!

KnitterInTheNW · 16/11/2009 20:16

Ellie!

Scorps, I was in John Lewis in the trafford centre this morning, and had a quick look at your bags... Flowery one is even nicer in real life, and def has a shoulder strap.

EllieG · 16/11/2009 20:16

Bless! I bet she was - they always look so very pleased with themselves when they do something like that that you can't possibly be cross either can you?

I looked at that thread again, and it has made me determined never, ever to start another thread unless I have completely checked all words I use, and never to say anything in a facetious way because people don't read between the lines and get weirdly cross with you. Most people are fine, and gave me honest but polite opinions (which is what I asked for) but some people are oddly angry, and find it hard to make points without being aggressive, which I don't understand. Plus people don't read your responses and so just keep carrying on being cross with you whatever you say!

Am going to hide it now so don't have to see it again [wussy-pants emoticon]

MistergodthisisSal · 16/11/2009 20:49

Yay, welcome back, Ellie! Got worried that some of the crazy other ladies scared you off completely! Hell, even I got scared of your tread, so stopped looking too! [2-for-1-on-wussy-pants]

The thing is, I think some people completely miss tongue-in-cheek comments. And then, you explain, which kind of defies the point of the funny take on something, and then the next 40 people come along and ask/accuse the same thing!

Denny185 · 16/11/2009 21:02

Ellie there are some strange folk on MN who just seem to like a hoo haa, I dont think its that they cant read between the lines they just choose not too. Tis nice and safe on here

Scorpio, did think after i wrote that message that you can get side bag things for the P+T so if there wasn't a shoulder strap you may have squeezed it in there, but there is so yeah. Def the second one.

Dont know if kids were sufficiently worn out but by the time we got home, ate dinner and had baths it was bed time, so no time to argue/throw toys all over the house. The walk we did was called the himalayan walk, hehehe I was quite determined to wear them out (unfortunately i had DD2 in a back pack for most of it, so wore myself out in the process)

Stumbled on an accidental piece of genius tonight, friends over to play after school, after 2 and half hours most toys were strewn across various rooms. The kids starting playing tig but the little ones got bored quickly, so I suggested hide and seek. Yeah lets play it in the dark was the response from the older kids. I pointed out that it was a great idea but they would get really hurt trying to hide with toys all over the floor - the house has not been tidied so quickly without sweets for blackmail. I think hide and seek in the dark may be on the agenda more often.

EllieG · 16/11/2009 21:11

Brilliant! You are a sneaky but extremely clever lady

SuperSoph73 · 17/11/2009 14:56

Afternoon all.

Had 2nd round of acupuncture and am hurting BIGLY! However, he's pleased with the progress I'm making & it definitely is working. However, I'm probably going to go down with double pneumonia as it was raining so hard while I was walking to physio that you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. I got absolutely drowned and my trousers and shoes are still damp 6 hours later I got all nice and snuggly warm underneath the heat blanket thingy he puts on my back after my treatment and then had to put on cold wet clothes!! When I get home I'm attacking the medicine cabinet and taking all the cold remedies I can & cross my fingers.

Sal - I think the no dairy is mainly due to how overweight I am but I think it also has something to do with blood flow!

Ellie - good grief what was your thread about? You poor sausage. I've read some threads in the past where people have just asked for advice and have ended up being hung, drawn and quartered just for asking. Ignore them they're not worth it. Stick with us kid, we know what we're about on here

Scorps - funnily enough I was thinking about Millie in the toilet again today, couldn't help but chuckle

Scorps · 17/11/2009 16:52

I'm so big and soo otired, have walked about 3 miles today, back and forth, dental appointments for dc, toddlers, everything! DH is cooking in a bit and im going to rest in the bath. I suppose i should do a bit less now im 35 weeks this week...but what shall i do less of?? It all needs to happen still! DH is looking after me v well though [so he bloody should emoticon]

Love Denny's tidy-up scheme game! Wonder how low before I'd be able to sucker R in to do the same... At the moment my master plan to make him put his balls at back in the bag doesn't work too well, as as soon as it's done, he throws it all over the floor again! Sigh.

Soph, never knew that re dairy (blood flow, am sure it's got nothing to do with overweight). I'm so glad for you that accupuncture seems to be working so well and so (relatively, am sure doesn't feel like it) quickly. Drink a glass of red wine to ward off the cold. Not sure it'll actually work, but it might make you care less.

Scorps, no advice for you, but huge admiration! Hope you're currently being spoilt absolutely rotten.

Snigger warning: We're going to Sandy Balls this weekend. Was looking at places to go that's not too far, and love the New Forest. Am slightly worried that it might not really be our kind of thing (like our privacy and don't do "resorts" anyway), but I think R will love seeing the ponies. Oh, and got it on special - £99 for the 3 nights (Fri to Sun) for a 2-bedroom Pine Lodge.

EllieG · 17/11/2009 20:27

[gives scorps and soph big virtual slices of cake for having hard days of pg and pins being stuck in]

Rest of you lot just get a hello

MistergodthisisSal · 17/11/2009 20:46

and me, i'm a sensitive soul!!! (who likes cake!)

KnitterInTheNW · 17/11/2009 21:13

A-hem... CAKE....CAKE....CAKE....CAKE....

MistergodthisisSal · 17/11/2009 21:18

Knitter, I've got cheese & quince paste if you fancy now that Ms Cake-stashing is ignoring us...

KnitterInTheNW · 17/11/2009 21:50

WTF is quince paste? (sorry if that sounds rude, just never heard of it!)

LadyBee · 17/11/2009 22:45

Whose baby likes to do things by him/herself? Can s/he give B lessons?? I can not be in the same house room with BabyB without him bringing me something to play with, or dragging me by the hand to the blocks/crayons/drums etc. He doesn't want to play, he wants to tell ME how to play. It's sweet, but omg I long to be able to sit and read while he busies himself.

MistergodthisisSal · 17/11/2009 23:04

Knitter. It's this. Absolutely lovely - cracker with some cheese on it, then topped with a very thin slice of quince paste. Great contrast between the saltiness of the cheese and the sweetness of the quince paste. Yum.

Ladybee, R used to be perfectly happy playing with his Lego for up to half an hour, but lately he seems to gone off that too, so sorry! He also gets annoyed if I try to use my laptop when he's playing at my feet, and gets up and close my laptop!

Scorps · 18/11/2009 11:32

LadyBee, Mimi plays with her siblings alot, when theyre not here she is a bit more by my side but quite happy to sit next to me, or play in the same room. Just think of new toys for Xmas and how he will love them and not you anymore

I heart cake. I have coffee cake in the cupboard that DH got me. Yum.
