Whoo hooo, you're all back! :D :D :D

Peachy, they sound like complete idiots! Ignore, some people are so thick there's no point arguing with them.

I want to see pics too, Scorps. Come on, before it's too late! Not long now, hey.

Re play groups - I have to go really, as except for my one friend down the road, all the other people with same-age children that I know have gone back to work full-time. I chatted to a couple of people at Boppin Bunnies on Monday, but would need to make an effort to meet others.

Denny, we're taking R to the big one on Blackheath. I have wondered whether it would be too much for him, but as it's only about 10 mins walk from here, we can always come back if wheather's awful or he finds it too loud.

LadyBee · 03/11/2009 21:21

Hi ladies! am back - been back for a week but it's been a bit mad trying to settle back to work, big deadlines, BabyBee ill blahdeblahblah. Anyway, am posting some photos here of the wedding, we had a lovely day and holiday after was also wonderful.
Now going to read and catch up - see what I've missed out on.

MistergodthisisSal · 03/11/2009 21:34

Hello Ladybee! You looked absolutely amazing!!! And so happy, it's just so beautiful. I'm all soppy now.

Sorry to hear BabyBee's ill though. The dreaded stomach bug that everyone seems to be catching at the moment?

LadyBee · 03/11/2009 22:00

Thanks. No, it's a coughing bug that just laid him low for a bit - nothing too bad but in combination with his jetlag and general tiredness from travelling I think it hit him a bit harder than normal.

Really sorry to hear about your mum's op, but hoping that things go a bit smoother from now.

And to hear about trying for no.2, we are too and I'm trying to keep my head on a slightly sensible way and not get expectations up that it will happen quickly.

BR - have your arms recovered??

and Scorpio, I saw that thing about homebirth too, is that your plan? I asked DH what he thought about the idea, just sounding him out (not sure what I think about it seeing I want VBAC), and was pleasantly surprised that he wasn't completely aghast at it after talking it through a bit.

Ellie, congratulations on the house! it is horribly stressful, but somehow it does happen even when it feels like it never will.

hello peachy and soph and denny (peachy, your life sounds soooooooooooo busy. I hope you get a small time to do a little bit of nothing occasionally, take care of you, ok?)

MistergodthisisSal · 03/11/2009 22:16

Poor thing. Jetlag must hit them terribly, because I feel sorry for myself, and that's not even time difference and I'm an adult. I'm a little ashamed to admit, but I got something from docs at home (it's supposed to be for colic, but makes them sleepy) and gave that to R for the first 2 nights after we got back. Meant he slept almost through, so got some proper rest and he's back to normal now. I wouldn't have bothered if he slept through normally, but I found that every time we flew far, he didn't sleep properly for a couple of days, falling apart (and us ready to crack up) by day 3.

Ooh, and whooo hooo re no 2 trying. Had to laugh at myself as I considered testing earlier when I saw the stick in the cupboard. Then I remembered I had my period 2 or so weeks ago! I'm so impatient once I know what I want. Well, not impatient enough to do it by calendar, but still.

The doctors thought I might struggle getting pregnant first time (PCOS), but I was lucky then. Hope it's ok this time. Did you struggle before?

LadyBee · 03/11/2009 22:29

No, we were pretty average I think, I actually got pregnant the first month I was off birthcontrol but sadly miscarried quite early on, then it took another 3 months. I came off birthcontrol for investigations - also into PCOS, and was sitting there pregnant as the consultant told me I might find it difficult but to give it a go and come back in 6 months if no luck.
I'll give it 6 months this time too and if nothing happens go for a referral back, as I'm pretty conscious of time ticking by.

BabyBee was not too bad sleepwise - but then he's generally a good sleeper anyway. 1st day he wakes at 4AM wanting to play, 2nd day he wakes about 5 but will go back to sleep when told it's still sleeping time, 3rd day he's back in the rhythm but really tired and mopey.
I think TBH we found it more difficult because we weren't having naps, and also didn't have great flights so were exhausted from that.

BTW, apparently there's a new place with softplay sessions opening locally - called the 10 centre I think, you might want to try there for new drop in groups?

MistergodthisisSal · 03/11/2009 22:58

Oh yes, now I remember you saying re pregnant whilst they say it might be difficult - I thought that was really funny, not sure why I forgot, sorry.

Hmm, 10 centre, you say? I didn't know that, but sounds great, thanks for the tip. I've just searched, but can't find a website for them. If no luck by this weekend, I'll just go there myself and see what is on when.

Scorps · 04/11/2009 13:02

I have put a pic of bump on fb, can someone else public link it cos my laptop not done yet

Afternoon all. Ladybee those piccies are great. I love wedding pics Good luck ttc no 2.

Denny - yep our weather is still brilliantly sunny although it has cooled down to around 22/23 degrees. Sam actually wore a long sleeved top this morning & dungaree shorts so it must be getting colder. Sam is also big on tantrums at the moment. I think it has a lot to do with him not speaking & getting frustrated at not being albe to voice his opinions.

MistergodthisisSal · 04/11/2009 15:17

Wow Scorps, you look great. Not that I'm surprised or anything, just a tiny little bit jealous. here is the 33 week pic.

Hi Soph. You lucky thing! Don't know quite how dh and I got talking about you the other day (promise I'm not some crazed stalker), and how you still have great weather. Then thought of an option to visit at some stage (the place, not you, don't be scared!) - but meant to ask you as I'm too lazy to search: How long are the flights from London? And how is weather normally around Christmas?

Thanks. Probably won't be able to afford going away over Christmas anyway, but I feel happy pretending I'm looking for places.

Scorps · 04/11/2009 16:00

Thanks I feel ginormous

Soph I refuse to symapthise over your weather!! DH has been rained off alot here, and it's sodding freezig with the Cornish sea air!!

OP posts:
SuperSoph73 · 04/11/2009 16:42

Sal - weather is usually still nice and warm at Christmas, obviously we do get the odd overcast day, but if you did come you'd probably stay in the South of the island which tends to have better weather. Flights from LGW take just over 4 hours. Speak to Denny if you're interested in coming as she was here in May (if I remember correctly) & we got to meet up ... although I'm not sure whether I'd want to meet up with a crazed stalker

Can't see 33 wk piccie

SuperSoph73 · 04/11/2009 16:44

Sorry Scorps

MistergodthisisSal · 04/11/2009 17:22

Crazed perhaps, but I'm nice, honestly. Ooh good, will see how much flights etc cost, and then drive Denny crazy speak to Denny.

I've been on a "diet" of sorts for the last two days. Trying to go low-carb. So far so good. Am making turnip gratin (it'll be nicer than in sounds, I'm sure ) and grilled lamb chops for dinner, with a mixed salad for colour. Really hungry already!

Denny185 · 04/11/2009 21:47

I cant see bump pics either but may be this puter will try looking again tom.

But I did see gorgeous wedding pics, you look like u had a fab day Mrs Bee. Sorry to hear baby bee is under the weather now though.

Sal I used to go to Blackheath fireworks - v nostalgic moment, last time I went up there was on a date when I was about 19 a few moons ago. Hope R likes it. The weather is pants here at the mo, quite drizzly so am still considering having a small party at home instead and the kids can all stay in the conservatory.

I knew I shouldnt have asked about your weather Soph, very envious now. Sal we flew from Manchester and took just under 4 1/2 hours, the only problem we had was trying to find 2 day flights, whichever way we did it we had to do 1 as a night flight. Dont know about cost of flights as we did a package deal, lazy gits that we be

KnitterInTheNW · 04/11/2009 22:02

Hello, laydeez!

I HAVE A JOB!!!!

To start in Jan.

WOOHOO!!!

MistergodthisisSal · 04/11/2009 22:18

It's prob just me and my rubbish comp skills with the photo, sorry!

Denny, small world, hey. Did you grow up here or work here/nearby?

Thanks for the flight info. I'm not too fussed about night flights, so will have a look at times etc. Well, saying that - I prob won't like arriving anywhere at 3am if I can help it... I really fancy going away for Christmas, as we both grew up with big family Christmases, so end up feeling rather sorry for ourselves when we're without anyone at home over the actual date. Guess with R being older this year it would be fine here too - we can start our own little family celebration, even if only tiny!

MistergodthisisSal · 04/11/2009 22:19

Knitter, CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just saw your update on FB, I'm so excited for you! Tell more!

MistergodthisisSal · 04/11/2009 22:22

Sorry, just saw - it sounds perfect, Knitter. G will have so much fun too with his two new friends!

KnitterInTheNW · 04/11/2009 22:32

Thanks Sal!

MistergodthisisSal · 05/11/2009 09:56

Good morning to all you lovely ladies.

Today I feel good. I've had a long bath (the joys of R's morning nap whilst dh working from home), am wearing denim pencil skirt that didn't fit me last time I tried it on and that I completely forgot about, red soft knitted top, long, big brown beads that I bought in the Amazon and suede knee-high, comfortable boots. Oh, and my hair is clean and straightened. Whilst I'm sure you're supposed to look decent every day, I'm more of a slob "keep it for an important day", so am terribly chuffed with myself.

Sooo, to stop my pointless rambles... How are you all?

R was moved from Baby Room to Little Learners at nursery yesterday. So officially not a little baby anymore. Will always be mine though.

SuperSoph73 · 05/11/2009 14:57

Afternoon all. Blimey Sal it's all I can do to make sure I've got matching shoes on in the morning Sweet that R's been moved up a class. Don't worry too much, no matter how old they get they're still our babies

I know you'll all be devastated (not) but we had rain last night & it definitely feels chillier! Am most definitely getting even softer in me old age

MistergodthisisSal · 05/11/2009 17:47

Oh Soph, it's only because thinking about clothes is more fun than tidying up, the other thing I really should have done!

BUT... And here comes my embarrassing revelation of the day (and something which dh only pointed out 20 mins ago!!! ) - R and I look like Tweedledum and Tweedledee today!!! Both dark denim bottom, red tops! I didn't realise - not trying to colour co-ordinate my child and myself, honestly. Now I look like some nutcase chavvy mum! So much for my day of looking good. Back to whatever keeps my bum from freezing off tomorrow...

Denny185 · 05/11/2009 19:14

Hehehe its raining in sophland

Congratulations knitter, tell us more.....

Sal my early years were in Thornton Heath before we moved to Surrey but then as a teenager spent more time in streatham ice skating. Otherwise sporadich mooching generally South of the water.

Weather made our minds up, its peeing it down so we are having a fireworks party at home on Sat - have invited lots of friends with hoards of kids but plan on feeding them, doing fireworks and then encouraging kicking them out home again before the house gets too trashed.

MistergodthisisSal · 05/11/2009 21:07

Denny - you should come and visit again! Soph gets visits and everything and she lives far. >

Had a lovely catch-up with one of my neighbours today, who spent most of the time chasing R around the park, with him giggling uncontrollably. Do you think it would be frowned upon if I ask her whether she wants to do time-share?
