dd2 - rolling everywhere - lots of chatting, started weaning and she loves her food although hates jar food - cannot get her to eat any of it. Have been pureeing foods. Dd2 has a touch of excema so have been careful with what I give her. Loves pureed pear and mashed banana, she had sweet potato last night - loved that. Has had pumpkin, gave her a millk arrowroot biscuit one day when her gums seemed to be bothering her - gnawed her way through that.

She adores dd1 and is so amused by her - no matter what she is doing. We visited friends a couple of weeks ago and she loved their little bnoy - he is about 4 - he kept singing to her which she loved.

can sit with support but seems to just loll sideways if you do not support her.

i have ds1 (dec 2003) and ds2 (nov 2004)

Mum2Ela · 14/06/2005 21:07

Hiya!

Noooooooo not the same as mum2max!

DD (2.8 yrs) and DS (Luca - 7.5 mths, born 2nd Nov 04)

Wellwellwell its all been happenning a bit quick on the mum2ela front.

DS rolled over at 4 months, sat at nearly 6 mt hs and is now crawling (I know, too soon!) at 7 mths.

Its a nightmare I was not ready for. Didn't expect it for quite some time. Can't put him anywhere unattended for even the shortest time. Only saving grace is that DD is now very interested in DS and they are playing together, mostly nicely. And he can manouver from sitting position to crawling easily and without too many bumped noses now, in fact he is such a wriggle-bum he does not stop from 6am til 7pm, apart from his 2x one-hour naps.

All good fun tho! And he is such the smiliest thing which I need atm as his sister is going through early puberty(constant whinging) I think!

What is everyone else's DS / DD up to?

Mum2Ela · 14/06/2005 21:21

Phew! Glad that last message posted. Computer crashed as I pressed the post message button.

BTW, are mum2max and Twinkie the same person (I think she was calling her DS max, might be wrong). If they aren't the same person, whatever happened to Twinkie?

Ooh, remembered I have more to write.

I hadn't posted for a while as we have been away to Cyprus which was lovely, not exactly relaxing but then holidays are a bit different when you have children, aren't they? Stpped breatfeeding when I got back, he more or less decided he didn't want it anymore and screamed until I gave him a bottle , tho its nice I can wear normal bras again

eidsvold · 15/06/2005 12:09

dd2 is still loving her breastfeeding - to the point of being embarrassing. Today at dd1's playgroup she was ready for a feed - tried to stick her head down my shirt and help herself. If at night when I feed her in bed I am not quick enough laying down again ( having got her from the cot ) she latches on anyway

She is loving exploring all the different tastes of solids that we try.

rolling everywhere - no inclination to crawl as yet. Having said that - it seems every time I decide she is not ready to do something she is doing within a couple of days.

Mum2Ela, we must have the same baby! We've talked before about similarities haven't we? DS's been crawling for a few weeks now, can't say much more as he's just made his way to my foot and is trying to put my toe in his mouth.....

webmum · 15/06/2005 13:48

dd2 has rolled over for the first time on monday!!

SHe is absolutely lovely, babblinga nd gurgling all the time, but not putting on weight again....and she's eating a lot! At least I think!!I weighed her last week and she was exactly the same as 2 weeks before....don't know what to do anymore....am still battling whether to ahve her weighted today or leave another week......oh the joys of motherhood

Mum2Ela · 15/06/2005 15:59

webmum, how much does your DD weigh? My DS is putting on about a pound a month, he is about 18lbs now (following the25th centile). I only take him to be weighed for something to do, and DD likes the bead table at the doctors. Is your DD happy? I wouldn't worry too much about weight then.

Flossam I think we do have the same baby . I really didn't expect mine to crawl this early as DD cruised for a good 2 mths before deciding to crawl. It is funny listening to DD speak to DS: 'Luca, oh Luca, no, don't touch my toys, no Luca, no, you are too small, they are my things', like he really must understand what she is going on about!

Eidsvold, I am reaaly jealous that you are still bf . I would still be now (well, for at least part of the day) if DS wanted to. My boobs are still producing milk and this morning I wondered if I should try to get him to feed (is that sick?) but I know he stopped bacuse he lost interest

I put DS's name on a list today for a local gymnastics class so hopefully come September he will have a place there, and should be walking by then at this rate, which will give us some together time doing something whilst DDis in nursery.

Flossam · 15/06/2005 19:22

Well DS is in bed so life is more peaceful I can post properly! I think DS has a squint, so he is off to have 'vision screening' tomorrow. I hope its not too bad. I also think he has tongue tie, I did think so when he was born, but only seems to be slowing him down now. He dosen't blow raspberries, and I don't think he really babbles. He ummmms and screams in varying pitches and tones, but no goo goos etc. I took him to the docs, but he didn't even want to look in his mouth, so nothing will be done untill it becomes definately apparent he is having problems talking. I think I'm going to get him wieghed tomorrow so I might just try and chat to the HV about it.

He is getting about very well now though, crawls (what I think is quite far a good 6-8metres in one go) all round the place, enjoys chasing all that he shouldn't have! Is just starting to seem to follow us too. Dosen't seem to realise that his head comes first though! Bangs it into everything.

Have just started trying the larger jars of things, thought I would experiment with those before I make up a load of food he won't eat! Lumpy spag bol has gone down a storm! So I might start trying to make extra portions for DS when appropriate. He still generally eats very well, even seems to open his mouth even if he hates it, over and over again, screwing his face right up!

Still is a lovely little personality, smiling and giggling and is usually easy to please. Even the dreadful Aunty is very taken with him, and couldn't stop cooing over him when she came to visit! Still slips in every so often that she hates children, but I'm not sure I believe her! I've won tickets to the Live8 concert and am now umming and ahhing what to do with DS. Need to see if DP can get the day off work, but, what with the concert being on it is unlikely. Desperate to go though!

And I will be going back to work in a couple of weeks. I think I feel ready for it. DP and me are having a few probs, but hopefully life will alter again when I go back and we'll be able to see where we stand. And I think thats us! Sorry for the book!

webmum · 16/06/2005 00:29

Thank you Mum2Ela

I did go today and she had put on 60gr in a week, (she is 15 7 now) which is something I suppose, and she had quite a lot of milk as well today, which she hasn't ahd in ages so I'm feeling a lot happier and the HV was very reassuring...I suppose my babies are just not big (dd1 has always been petite), thanks for trying to reassure me!!

mum2max · 16/06/2005 18:17

hi all, No I am not anybody else. I'm just mum2max. Had to take him to dr yesterday with suspected hand, foot and mouth!!! then someone explained that it's no relation to bovine foot and mouth

typical though, made appt on monday when rash was red and angry, when i took him yesterday the rash had gone bar one spot!!!! Can go back to nursery though so (unfortunately) back to work today

max rolling over quite happily now with no cat needed for leverage. (meiow)

p.s. are we on this new thread now????? or are some still going to use old one (seems a shame to let it go! )

mum2max · 16/06/2005 18:19

also, and i know you're porb not motorheads or anything, but I'M GOING TO THE BRITISH GRAND PRIX !!!!! with VIP tickets

bunny2 · 19/06/2005 16:45

found ya!!

I must post a pic of dd, she is so so sweet with her toothy grin. she is the easiest baby in the world even when constantly tormented by ds. She is off her food right now, prob due to hot weather, and she absolutely refuses any meat at all (have made a couple of Annabel Carmel recipes with chicken and lamb) so I shall look out for other sources of protein for her.

Mum2E, cant believe your ds is crawling!!! Wow! I am enjoying dd still being relatively immobile - so much easier like that for a alzy wench like me! But when she gets moving I am sure my baby-weight will drop off!

Im still broody, I want another one

collision · 21/06/2005 12:50

Hi all.

Am still BFing too and we both love it. Havent had to use bottles at all and DS2 uses a cup now for water and a little cows milk.

He eats sooooo much and I havent found anything he doesnt like. All food is homemade and he wolfs it down. He sits up and rolls around and everything goes in his mouth. He and ds1 adore each other and whenever ds2 cries ds1 launches into 'Bear Necessities' which is so cute it brings tears to my eyes every time he does it.

Looks like we are moving back to the UK at the beginning of Aug. We have sold the restaurant and we need to get back to open somewhere else. Am freaked out at the amount of work I will have to do, look after 2 kids and still work in the restaurant. Without help. Gulp.

Still, life could be alot worse.

Mum2Ela · 22/06/2005 10:40

Blimy Collision! You've got a lot on your plate atm. Have you found somewhere to move back to in the UK yet? Am jealous you are still BF, wish I was too, but then I wouldn't be able to wear the strapless summer dress I have on today, so I guess not bf has its benefits too!

Have recently realised that DS doesn't cry, apart from whe I put him to bed at night. Thats the only time he cries. He seems to be very content, apart from bedtime. Even for his daytime naps he is happy to be put down wide awake and will go off on his own, but night time is a whole new ball game. He'll cry, crawl around his cot til he gets his head / leg / arm stuck, cry some more, take his dummy out and cry, put it back in and cry.... its tiresome. Any suggestions? CC doesn't work with him, it was perfect for DD but DS doesn't respond at all to it.

collision · 22/06/2005 21:51

Mum2Ela......we have put ds2 in the kitchen to sleep in his travel cot. It is much cooler there and the cot is so much bigger so he doesnt bang his head.

DS2 cries for a while but I am usually busy with ds1 and so I just leave him and he falls asleep.

He was swimming today so exhausted himself.

We also played with bricks. I built a tower and he knocked it over and had a fit of giggling hysterical laughter. I tried to video it but the batteries had gone in the camera!!

Mum2Ela · 23/06/2005 17:12

Sounds like our camnera collision, never ever seems to be any batteries in it when you need it!

Flossam · 23/06/2005 22:29

Life is getting more and more hectic!! DS is now pulling himself up on any potentially sturdy item, first on his knees but more and more today on both feet! Started to look like he was going to shuffle along the sofa seat too earlier! Hasn't figured out how to get back down again yet and despite 4 vigilant adults about atm he has had lots of banged heads! Had no idea this would happen so quickly following his crawling. Now I can never relax and am feeling more anxious about going back to work as DP thinks I fuss too much and always thinks he will be fine when he's not....

Flossam · 23/06/2005 22:35

Wow, my computer went very strange there, keeps turning off. Meant to say to you Collision as well, poor you!! Are you pleased to be moving back home though? Where do you think you will be moving too? If you need any help don't be afraid to ask! Hope things go smoothly for you.

eidsvold · 23/06/2005 23:22

dd2 is sitting up all the time now - hates laying down especially when out and about!! She is trying to get up into the crawling position but no movement yet - however as dd1 has jsut started walking and getting everywhere - a gap between to the two being mobile is fine by me. We have lots of babbling from dd2 BUT her absolute favourite thing is to blow bubbles or raspberries.... in the middle of the night after her feed she will just lay there blowing raspberries. She loves her solids although is unsure about pumpkin......

still breastfeeding as well - and that seems to still be her absolute favourite!!

Have posted a recent pic of her under the most serious baby in the world topic in members profiles... she really does a good serious face.... like she has the worries of the world going round her head!!

Hello
for the roll call ds3 born 28th oct ( due 3rd Nov which is why I'm still on this thread not Oct one)

Just thought I would pop in for a post as ds3 has gone out for 1/2hr with his daddy.

Well whats going on with me.... still getting no sleep ds3 wakes up every two hours most night, in fact this weekend we have decided to get a grip and try some controlled crying while my other two are at their dad, I can't say I am relishing the idea as it just breaks my heart to hear him cry but something has got to give and I fear it might be my sanity if we don't do some thing.

Ds3 is just a great big chubbster, he was topping the scales at 24lbs last week...the average size of a 12mth, he doesn't exactly look fat just big all over, but he is sporting a good pair of man boobs . I am hoping getting his sleeping sorted is going to put him in a better mood as he has been very whingy of late and I am sure it's because he's not getting enough sleep. No sign of any movement here, I know he can roll over and he does a sort of bouncing thing when sat up but I think his hefty thighs are anchoring him down!
I'm still b/f early morning, mid afternoon, bedtime and unfortunately the odd time during the night which I know he shouldn't be doing but sometimes it makes for an easier life. one thing ds3 is great at is eating anything I make him especially fish which he wolfes down but does make him pong a bit. He will not touch jar food which in one sense is good but a bit of a pain when you are out and about. I have become one woman and her cool bag.... ooh very trendy slung over your shoulder.
Hows everyone doing with lumpy food? ds3 seems ok he managed a couple of chopped raisins today and chomped half a banana himself. pasta lumps seem to go down quite nicely too.

So is anyone attempting a flight with their little ones?, we did forida in Feb but ds3 was quite small so it was easy, we are thinking about a city break to barcelona or somewhere similar in a few weeks time as the flying time is not too long. I am really looking forward to getting away and I'm hoping that ds will be sleeping through by then.

Sounds like everyone is doing ok. I will try to post a piccy soon so everyone can see chubbster boy

Riebee · 24/06/2005 18:22

corr sorry about the essay!

Bronze · 25/06/2005 15:44

hope youre all well
