Hi everyone,

it's very quiet here lately!
hgas anyone had their first birthdays yet? dd2 was one the other day and we had a little party at home, she was enjoing the attention but did not leave me for a second, so we don't have any nices photos, as dh wasn't there and no one else could use our camera properly....never mind, she enjoyed her cake though and the balloons!

Hope you're all having a good time, and Collision hope you're getting out of your chicken pox ourbreak"!!

collision · 13/11/2005 11:18

Chicken pox are now over with, as is the croup.

But.....ds1 now has a viral infection and so we are back on the Calpol! We havent been out together as a family for nearly 5 weeks!!

DS2 is one on Wednesday! Where has the year gone?

eidsvold · 15/11/2005 04:35

Can you believe it - dd2 is one today. Have been having a quiet day - some friends coming over later for afternoon tea and birthday cake.... dd1 was very cute - I taught her how to sign happy birthday in makaton and she keeps going around doing day and saying DAY DAY!!

dd1 also figures the toys are for her and she thoroughly approves of our selection for dd2

Hi everyone! I've only just noticed this thread. Can't believe my baby was one on Saturday! I'm so amazed at what he can do now compared to that helpless little bundle of last year.
We've been trying for #2 since the summer so hoping to do it all again soon.

homemama · 15/11/2005 09:25

Can I ask, is my DS the only one who still doesn't sleep?
Please lie if you have to!

eidsvold · 15/11/2005 09:51

my dd2 has just started sleeping through the night.... has one/two sleeps during the day.

Thanks Eidsvold. Happy birthday to your DD2 BTW.

webmum · 15/11/2005 17:15

No Homemama

dd1 sleeps alrightish, but wakes up for milk every night, and most of the time she'll go back to sleep easily, but sometimes, she's really up for a party and it's really hard putting her down again

eidsvold · 17/11/2005 05:43

have posted a pic of dd2 on her birthday

Ds was one yesterday and had a haircut so he looks like a proper little boy. He is so sweet but we do call him the destroyer as he destroys everything in his path and is SO strong!!

collision · 17/11/2005 22:57

Sorry Homemama.......both my boys sleep from 7pm-8am-ish!!!!!!!!

Mum2Ela · 28/11/2005 12:44

Hi everyone!

Well its been a while since I posted on here, July I think was the last time. Had a crazy Summer (lots of picnics) and have recently moved house (into our dream home), got a part-time job (for my sanity) and been to Cuba (for a wedding).

DS was 1 while we were in Cuba (2nd Nov) and he has been walking for just over a month now, but in the last couple of weeks just wants to be running which is slightly nitemarish! Like others on here, he has had a couple of bouts of croup the most recently the weekend before last which was awful, but they say it'll be bad this winter. He seems to talk a lot more than I remember DD talking, he says mum, dad, there (and point), tickletickle (with tickling motion - soooo cute!), Ela (DD), no (shake head), yes (sounds more like 'yeah' with quite violent head nodding).

Anyone else's DD / DS a bit of a headbanger? Tends to do it a bit when in a strop.

Its so sweet when DD and DS play together (tho often they argue and fight). It gives a a lie-in when they play 'hairdressers' (poor DS!) together at the request of DD.

Will try to get on here more often now I have access to a comp again.

Hey you lot! Where are you all?

How are all your babies?

harrogatemum · 20/02/2006 19:43

I'm here!!! DTs are now 15 months old - one has taken first steps - other not bothered yet!!

gingernut · 20/02/2006 19:47

Hi there! I'm here too. ds2 is doing well. He's very inquisitive (just like his brother) and just gorgeous (biased, moi?). He's been walking properly for about a month now. No words as yet and I think he's getting a bit frustrated at not being able to communicate at times, but he's pretty good at making himself understood (pointing to the biscuit barrel, TV remote etc etc).

How are you doing collision?

collision · 23/02/2006 00:24

We are all great and sooooooo happy to be back in the UK.

ds2 goes to nursery a few days a week and loves it. He says Mama Dadda MAX! (ds1) and uh-oh! which is really cute. he is a lovely baby but I glad he is the last and I have no plans for anymore.

You all OK?

Bronze · 23/02/2006 14:19

Hi people I dont know if any of you remember me it has been about a year after all but I thought I would come on and catch up on all your news.
Any of you on a antenatal thread as well yet? :D

Hi everyone!!

Well DS seems to be doing quite well. He started walking just in time for his birthday. Now is running around about the house! He says a few words, Duck, hiya, pooh bear and 'where' as in where pooh bear? He is quite good with saying 'Ta' for his food toys etc. Only problem is, if helping himself to food, thanks himself.

We're hoping to move in the next few weeks, we have found a two bedroomed house we are in the process of buying (fingers crossed for us please!). Going back to Bristol, the part of the world where we come from. Going back to old job, full time. SLightly worried but need the money. DS will be going to a C/M three days a week, which as hopefully there will be other children there, I think he will very much enjoy.

Certainly not pregnant ATM!! Far too much going on as it it! Am hoping to sometime in the future though, perhaps when we are all settled in and sorted out. Nice to hear from all of you! Smile

collision · 06/03/2006 22:24

Definitely no more for me. I am 35 and very happy with my 2 boys and we just couldnt cope with another!

Ds2 is a dream and soooooooo funny. Much chirpier than his brother was and more independant. Likes to feed himself and is obsessed with lids! Lids on bottles, jars, boxes! Speaks well and if he is naughty he says 'Uh-oh!' which makes us laugh!

Bronze · 07/03/2006 08:54

Well I lied I'm now on the october due thread....what fun
good to hear all the tales of your little ones

collision · 07/03/2006 17:06

Congrats Bronze...you must be mad but congratulations!!!!!! Grin

eidsvold · 15/03/2006 12:17

congrats Bronze... had a pic of dd2 up - will put it up again.. in case anyone is interested.

Not walking but cruising and standing unaided and happy to walk holding our fingers or one handed.

Had her MMR last week - did not cry or even whine... just scratched her leg like she would a mozzie bite.

Lots of talking and makaton signing. I sign with dd1 and I taught dd2 three signs and she now has quite a repetoire just from watching dd1 and dh and I sign.

She is developing a very cheeky personality - adores dd1 - always wants to hug and kiss her. Becoming a real daddy's girl - so that makes two. We now have two and a half days with just us - dd1 is in kindy/sn kindy and so dd2 is loving the extra attention. I am going to start taking her along to a music playgroup just for her to have some interaction other than her sister and her sister's friends.

Glad to read all is well with you all!!
