Is that it? No other messages the whole time i've been away? What's going on? Had settled in with a full glass of vino expecting to be reading for ages!!
Annie - those pix of Joey are totally adorable. I love the way you got the "journey" of him from tie tying all the way to his walk in with his book bag. Bless.
H is loving school, has got a girlfriend already although I think the affection is totally one way (her to him) as he wants nothing at all to do with Lilibeth ( I know, surrey dahling) and she is stuck like glue to him. We had a teachers visit today, which was lovely actually, just a chat and a get to know you thing, Mrs Smith and Mrs Jones (Smith and Jones ) and they said how composed he was, and how well he seemed to have settled. He is a very level chap my H, takes alot to phase or upset him [proud]. He seems to making friends with Year 1 boys by playing footie with them...
Speaking of which he started fottie training last Saturday, got some great pix of him in full Liverpool strip, god what a sight it was to walk into the fields and see the 100s of people all there watching their boys, a complete community I never knew existed that it seems we will now be part of. Really feel like we are moving into a new era with the boys, like Annie said, babyhood is truly over.
So - I have been in India for a week, leaving DH to do the boys completely solo. He coped amazingly, as I knew he would, and I think he is rather proud of himself TBH! The things he was telling me on the phone, I had to smother my sniggers - "Jen it's just unbeleivable, I have to get them both up, dressed, fed, teeth brushed, respective bags packed, do dishwasher, get myself dressed, clear up brekkie, get them both to nursery/school, and then me to work, it's such hard work and totally exhausting!" Really! You don't say! How revelatory! At least he had the grace to confess he didn't realise how hard it was to do all that and work and not live in a shit hole, and that he would no longer sit and eat his toast and watch GMTV in the mornings while I whirlwind around the place, he would help more. Yes well, I'll beleive it when I see it but it was balm to my ears.
India was amazing. I have holidayed there a couple of times but had never been to the inner city and it's slumdog millionaire for sure. The heat, the smells, the tiny filthy kids in rags standing outside their hovels that are insulated with plstic bag after plastic bag to keep the monsoon out, right in front of luxury brand new high rise office blocks. I had a driver for my entire stay whose sole responsibility was to wait outside wherever he dropped me and take me wherever I wanted to go. Everyone was so friendly, courteous, deferential, I think compounded by their tangible curiosity for a lone female business woman. I had a lovely time, learnt a huge amount about our offshore operations, and the visit from Mr M&S (the real purpose for my trip) went very well, and he was very complimentary about his experience. The acid test is the presentation to his management next Wednesday so fingers crossed we get the business....
Got back this morning, so very tired, but happy to see my men. Popping off now, sausage and mash served, more later, hope you are ok HC.
Love to all,
Bloss
