Thought I'd start a new thread as as soon as evie pops we're bound to fill it hugely and some of us have phones to work with!

Oh yes, me please! DD and I can make it for around 2:30ish.

MM congrats on the house and potential LO!
Get on with it & let us know the result of the stick test unless you're avoiding it due to wanting to ski in Feb...
Hah, you could be doing the Arctic Challenge with us instead of skiing!

having the same probs with work stuff though, have been away from home for a couple of nights at a time last 2 weeks, then on course all day Sat & teaching Sun mornings, so Gran & dad are getting all the new words

Think E may have had swine flu, but can't be bothered phoning up as that's all they'll say it is. He's been miserable since Nursery sent him home on Friday, not usually the clingy sort but he wants lots of hugs at the moment.

FfFf, are we on for Friday then? I've lost your mobile number, can you text me so I've got it in the phone again? Have fun all of you meeting up, with your wacky mid-week hijinx

merryberry · 26/10/2009 18:05

2.30 sounds perfect for me, what do you htink littleducks and ewe? allows me a lazy post-lunch amble down.

littleducks · 26/10/2009 18:46

should be fine for me, have sent out fb invites in the hope of drumming up more attendees

i dont however know the place so dont know where to suggest meeting

merryberry · 26/10/2009 22:43

it's pretty small. if you stand in the middle you can everything almost. there's no real 'this is just for toddlers part'. their fave is usually the sand pits. oh yeah, be prepapred for that. shall we say by the swings if we're there at 2.30? the littler ones are turn right when you get in? msg me on fb, if you're going, swap mobile numbers. i'm franky

monthlymayhem · 26/10/2009 23:43

Sorry for the suspense! I did a test last Thursday and got a negative but with the very faintest shadow of a cross (if you held it up to the light in a paranoid type way). Tested again at the weekend and lo and behold got a BFP So, here we go again... very early days of course, but all being well will be due around end of June.

Evie - glad to hear you're turning a corner - a couple of my friends have recently had no.2 and I was dizzy just watching them juggle a baby with toddler in tow...

I'm going to a toddlers halloween party tomorrow, with a Night garden outfit for ds which he hasn't seen yet (the sensible thing would have been to try it on beforehand of course, but I've forgotten) so can't wait to see his reaction.

Enjoy your meet-up!

turtle23 · 27/10/2009 05:18

MM-Congrats! I wonder who will be next....

OP posts:
merryberry · 27/10/2009 06:53

congratulations MM! 2 at a time can be easier, i swear - at least there's another to do and you don't go off your trolley with just having one anchoring you in place but not giving enough to do.

littleducks · 27/10/2009 06:56

Congrats MM

merry will fb, need to chase Ewe to check she can come too

and turtle i think the time stamp on your post says it all ((un mumsnetty hugs))

We ended up in a pumpkin grotto yesterday i just wanted to buy a pumpkin and butternut squash from the farm shop to try out in some recipes, well when they said there was a huge selection of pumpkins on the big barn i didnt realise that it would be surrounded by moving mannequines/huge spiders/knives and cleavers/ghosts/headless horsemen in a pretty dark barn kids didnt seem too bothered, we dont do halloween as such so i dont think they realise the full horror potentioal of it all, but dd appeared in my bed and spent half the night screaming in her sleep, apparently a large spider kept coming in her dreams

Oh and dd just asked if we could return to the beach we went to two weeks ago to check her sandcastle village is still ok What do you say to that?

merryberry · 27/10/2009 09:25

tell her she can build another one tomorrow at coram's fields! the weather is set to be 20 degrees tomorrow m in London. WOW!

FfreckleFface · 27/10/2009 09:31

Gah! Can't do Wednesdays. Such a shame - Ff loves sand, she thinks it's delicious... Have fun.

Dontpanic - I'm really sorry, can I be a pain and cancel Friday? Ff has been invited to her first Hallowe'en party on Friday afternoon. I know I'm crap. Are you free at all for the rest of the weekend?

crashfistfight · 27/10/2009 12:16

Ok, will see everyone who can make it at the sand pit then. Good news about the weather. I'm the one with the little girl who looks possibly like a little boy in wellies and dungarees probably armed with spade.

MB - I put my mobile number on my profile as I'm not on fb. Let me know when you get it and I can delete it. Thanks

ilovegreenbeans · 27/10/2009 12:54

oooh- congrats MM!

I am going to have to see about tomorrow. We have a scan in the morning, and getting to Coram Fields by 2:30 might be a push with a nap in there too. Have fun though! I work nearby and have never been, as never have a child with me while I'm working!

xx

turtle23 · 27/10/2009 13:27

Goodness, ilgb...are you 20 weeks already? How exciting! Are you going to find out?

Have fun all...I will be seeing MW and making sure that my kit is dropped off for homebirth...I'm allowed to have baby at home as long as it waits just 5 more days!!!!!

HolidaysQueen · 27/10/2009 13:29

oooh mm! congratulations! wow, there are lots of younger siblings on their way now!

evie - so sorry to hear about your tough first 6 weeks but i do hope it all settles down now. i seem to remember 6 and 12 weeks being the two big turning points with DS and lots of my friends say the same.

turtle - i'm a bit nervous that it could be me next. i discovered a hole in my diaphragm on sunday and have absolutely no idea how long it has been there. ooops. i know i'm supposed to check every time, but who has time for that when DS is having a nap and DH suggests a, ahem, lie down and you know DS will wake up in about 15 mins so you have a very limited window of opportunity? i'm really not ready to deal with morning sickness until after our house move has gone through, so i'm really hoping i get a nice visit from aunty flo in a week or two.

sigh.

turtle23 · 28/10/2009 05:22

Why does my child have to get up at 5? Is not fair.

OP posts:
ilovegreenbeans · 28/10/2009 13:32

HQ!! Oooohh... waiting with fingers crossed!

I'm 21 weeks now, so over halfway- hooray! Finally have some energy back too

Well, baby was wiggly and gorgeous! It looks exactly like H! I just got her scan photos out to check and their profiles are so similar.

DH is off to Berlin tonight for work. My parents have gone to Phoenix for a conference and my DB and SIL are in California for a wedding. Thank goodness it's not raining here today!

merryberry · 28/10/2009 21:20

oh good news! lovely to meet crashfistfight, ewe and littleducks at coram's today. my dh crashed the party, he was supposed to have a day off this week and play all day, but work butted in. we made the most of an extra couple of hours with him. went to giraffe in brunswick square as they are so well trained to accept kids, and we had a a drink while they had tea. Never tried that before. Its frighteningly tempting way through the late day slump...there was singing and very bad joke telling (all mine) on the way home, but at least i actually made both ds1 and the cabbie laugh as well as myself

littleducks · 29/10/2009 03:42

yawn, ds thinks it is morning snd has been up since 2am, seriously wtf? he is going to crash at 6 isnt he about 30 min before dd gets up i bet

Lovely to meet up with everyone today and i really like coram field even the pungent goat house

ilgb i am overcome with a feeling of 'ooh, i want another lo to watch one the scanner' feelings nut then i suddenly remembering why am typing at this hour can't believe you are half way through already, not that long left now!

turtle23 · 29/10/2009 05:21

LD- I don't know and I feel your pain. DS has been up since 445 (not nearly as bad,but still) and I am going to have a breakdown quite soon. He has done this all week since the clocks changed and NOTHING HELPS.
Looking forward to seeing Jfly and any others who are pumpkin painting today...
I have forgotten what else I was going to say. No brain.

OP posts:
littleducks · 29/10/2009 06:15

turtle that was a bit thoughtless of me (i promise it was due to redicolous time) i know P is a true 'lark' up before the dawn whereas this was a one off

wheres the pumpkin painting? i want to come! my monster children however.........

littleducks · 29/10/2009 06:24

btw what is the pumpkin painting?

dear lord i need some sleep! now its taking forever to get it out im guessing it is a more toddler friendly form of pumpkin decorating than large sharp knife carving, so have prob answered my own question and should be ignored!!

in fact today i should attend all halloween dress up comps, i just caught a glimpse in the mirror, i look the perfect zombie no effort required

turtle23 · 29/10/2009 06:26

LD- Not thoughtless at all. I am just struggling to come to terms with the fact that I have a "morning person" for a son. It wouldn't be that bad at all if I didn't have pg-related insomnia. I was up from 12-3 unable to sleep. I am truly a stunning shade of pale grey this morning.

Xpost....
Jfly is trying to raise some cash for her very cold adventure by inviting a few monsters kids round to paint pumpkins...safer than knives for toddlers.
(Have we all given to DP and Jfly yet? Slaps self on wrist for forgetting DP herself...)
