Thought I'd start a new thread as as soon as evie pops we're bound to fill it hugely and some of us have phones to work with!

MB- Hope LO is on the mend.

If it makes you feel better, ladies, I weigh A LOT more than last winter!

Ewe- Do give me a shout if you need anything. I'm only 20 minutes away, have a double buggy if you want me to take T out, and I owe you anyway!!

Anybody know anything about mortgages? Disaster has struck in that they have banned self-cert mortgages JUST wen I really need one.
(that reminds me...congrats on house HQ!)

Ewe · 21/10/2009 09:28

You have an excuse! Thank you - think I am going to try and leave the house today, cough is a bit better just lacking on energy front, quick trip to the park maybe as T is going mad being cooped up inside.

I don't know much about mortgages but my step-Mum works for a fab IFA in Banstead who will come to your house, I can get her details for you if you like?

Hope the boys are on the mend mb.

Is anyone else having a problem with nappies at the moment? Not quite sure what to do, I'm not ready for potty training!!

turtle23 · 21/10/2009 13:25

Congrats. She is ready for potty training. I have no life and have potty trained 11 children. so if you need a hand give me a shout. Longest it's ever taken was 5 days so just be thrilled that you are on your way to having a small handbag again!!
IFA may be necessary soon...have no brain yet, nor control over my own money...so will shout when the money is in my account.

Potty training? Already? Get the impression this is way in the future for us (and hope it is too). Ff is very happy in her own filth, and the only sign she gives that she is aware is the little dance of joy she gives when she pees in the bath.

For those tiring of cbeebies - Meercat Manor is a firm fave here. Ff stands and barks at the screen when it's on, and generally attacks Boydog if they start scrapping. Great fun for babies and grown-ups alike.

Ewe · 22/10/2009 09:53

Well she seems to like the potty! Just going to have it around the house for her to get used to and try to explain that if she wants to run around with her nappy off the poo and wee needs to go in there. We'll see what happens!

XP (erghh, don't like that) put an offer in on a house on Monday and it was accepted yesterday afternoon. This has all moved very quickly, gone from being totally fine to terrified of being on my own. I know I will be ok and he has probably moved so quickly to shock me into saying I will move with him. Which is tempting. But I need some head space and physical space (we BOTH do actually) to work out what we want from life/love etc.

Relationships are hard and confusing.

Still feeling pretty shitty from the flu but definitely on the mend. Going back to bed for some more rest shortly after being up quite early getting clothes sorted for T as it nursery picture day! Bless.

FfreckleFface · 22/10/2009 16:25

Littleducks - tomorrow? I sent you a message on FB, but I'm not sure how often you check. Are you free to meet in Henley?

Unmumsnetty hugs for Ewe. It must be really difficult.

littleducks · 22/10/2009 16:32

should be ok, where shall we meet? somewhere easy to find pls! discuss through fb

turtle23 · 22/10/2009 17:14

Ewe- Scary indeed. You ok? Lunch this weekend and we can compare notes on fear of being alone?

Hello all, apologies that any posts recently have been one liners totally out of sync with the rest of the thread

Thankfully ds is asleep in his cot haveing a proper nap, after being thoroughly exhausted by little Ff (who is an absolute delight btw). So i can finally type all the things i have been wanting to say.

Ewe- it sounds sad for you atm and like there are loads of big changes afoot, but im sure you realise that you are the one being sensible and mature for once

Turtle- the only thing that i can say is about the whole saga is that 'MR TURTLE for example is a twat' and i really hope P stays well and cheerful so you can get some rest

merry- that sounds like a nightmare, no wonder you are exhausted

I truely i have the THANK GOD ITS FRIDAY feeling today, and am so glad this week is over as i have been on my knees desperate for half term to start. I am loving my course but need the break so so much. My kids are tired and need the break too. October half term is a monumnetally seaason change for me, all summer clothes will now be packed away (wardobes are a missmash of shorts and fleeces atm) i will now start winter activities (returning to soft play centre which i only visited once this summer [smug emoticon]) and menu is now totally shifted to soup, pies and stuff with custard over salad (though i must buy some smaller plates as that prob wont do my already bulging at the seams waistline much good)

We should arrange London meet up, i know there have been murmurings but if we are going to do this pre xmas i think a date and venue should be decided. Ewe what days are you off now, as i always think of you off on Wed but i suppose with uni its been all change?

merryberry · 23/10/2009 15:22

not to self do not eat at littleducks she serves custard-over-salad.

HolidaysQueen · 23/10/2009 19:11

LOL isn't heinz salad cream just custard with salt added anyway?

CricketsMum · 23/10/2009 19:42

hello hello
work has suddenly gotten busy again (teach me to whinge about being bored to my boss, seriously, how stupid am i?!) so have been lurking but too tired to think of anything interesting to say.

not that i have anything interesting to say now but thought i'd say hi anyway!!!

Turtle and Ewe - so sorry to read your news. hope you are surviving it all ok. thinking of you both.

LOL at the custard over salad!

have been reading about pottys with interest. we have had one kicking around for a few weeks and are slowly getting her to understand the concept and this week the CM took the same approach. she is getting increasingly good at asking for potty when she needs to (to our amazement - going much more smoothly than we anticipated... in fact it is less traumatic that introducing a duvet was (ooohhh the tantrums about the duvet!!)) and has pooed on it 3 days in a row (back on the potty now, not the duvet!)which we are over the moon about. (must be said that she is fairly predictable on that front so we watch her like a hawk at the alloted time which makes it easy to intervene!) But for those that have been through this before i have a question... how on earth do you know when to stop using nappies - especially out of the house?! don't think we are anywhere near that stage yet but am not sure how we know when we reach it. all suggestions greatly appreciated.

not sure there is much else exciting to say chez cricket... except am starting to panic about how close Christmas is... where did the last 6 months go?

(oh, and I'm going to be an auntie again - ds is preggers )

CricketsMum · 23/10/2009 19:43

obv ds in that instance is sister...

that'll teach me to break free from lurking!

FfreckleFface · 23/10/2009 19:49

We had a great time this morning, Littleducks. Your little boy is lovely, and it was good to finally meet you both.

HQ, house all sounds v exciting. Hope it continues to run smoothly.

Should not be on tinternet now...have much reading to do, a freelance project to finish, and an essay to write. I am queen of procrastination, so am turning off the iPhone. Have a nice weekend all, I will return when I emerge on the otherside of the pile of work.

monthlymayhem · 23/10/2009 23:58

I've been lurking, but just not had time to actually post...
Sorry to hear husbands/partners/ratbags are causing misery

Developments here are we've finally sold our house , we've put an offer in on a house which is completely over our budget , booked a skiing holiday for February a few weeks ago, and it's entirely possible I might be pg again .

Apart from that, work is completely manic, and quality time with DS is suffering which is given he is at such a fun stage, and I have to hear from other people what his new word of the day is

Ds had a nasty bout of croup a few weeks ago, and hand foot and mouth disease last week (which he kindly passed on to me), but [touches wood] we seem to be cold/illness/teething free for the moment!

merryberry · 24/10/2009 08:41

so much news! wow at pg again monthly

ds1 and potty - i went past him being ready in a haze of late pg weariness (he was a late one anyway). then when i had the chance i simply took his nappies off and had potties EVERYWHERE, in a couple days of chaos he got it, with a few accidents for about 3 more days. he was so pleased with himself. but a LOT older, turned 3.

evie2000 · 24/10/2009 20:05

am so out of touch but flying by to say hello - sorry to read of sad/bad news on partners front and all that trouble. Horrible.
Shocked to read about potty training stuff - surely not yet...really should I be thinking about that - ds is 19 months - have no idea of timings.
DD is doing well, now 6 weeks and finally feel like the fog is lifting. It's been a very tough time to be honest for many reasons, I won't go into them here but suffice to say a birth in our family and a death immediately afterwards has brought some vey sad times for everyone. She is a joy of course but I'm only really able to say that now after 6 weeks....I am now feeling the love which I also hate to say. Anyway - to those of you having your second/third soon I say don't be surprised by the strange emotions - it all seems to come right in the end...or at least I hpe it does.
Anyway -sorry for long post having been off line so much but hugs to you all and do hope the various troubles are resolved or at least some peace in all your lives.

littleducks · 25/10/2009 00:32

woohooo on the house selling monthly and on the poss pg

evie it does get easier with time, dd was 22mo when ds was born and there were some hard slog times but when they finally learnt to play together it was soo rewarding

i potty trained at 26 mo ish last time round and am planning on doing it next summer (much easier in summer tbh) with ds, though i may start sitting him on the potty before baths though

Anyone fancy a trip to Coram fields with a cream tea at the cafe i suppose we could move into foundling museum if it rains, this week?

littleducks · 25/10/2009 00:33

oops and good to see you cm

merryberry · 25/10/2009 09:21

littleducks i would love to coram fields. not tuesday. how's the weather shaping for half term i wonder...toddles off to see.

Ewe · 25/10/2009 17:48

I could do Coram Fields on Wednesday, I am in town anyway seeing a friend for a late-ish lunch.

Lovely to hear from you evie and sorry to hear it's been a tricky six weeks, good that it sounds like things are getting better though.

DD seems less bothered about the potty this weekend, the other babies (yes, she is still a baby!) in her room at nursery are all potty training which is I think what has sparked her interest.

monthly - entirely possible, have you not peed on a stick yet?! Let us know when you do! All these new babies.

merryberry · 25/10/2009 21:41

i'm still up for it, from 2pm on i can do. suppose it closes quite early now the clocks have changed?

littleducks · 25/10/2009 21:42

is that on wed merry?

merryberry · 26/10/2009 06:30

yes, wednesday for me

littleducks · 26/10/2009 07:23
