hello hello how are yous, i'm ok! going back to work has been liberating and i think i'm ahead in this campaign in the battle of sleep. I was victorious in last night's battle anyway.

bit sad today though as the little boy has lost weight this last fourtnight. He's nighteen weeks and has dropped to the 9th centile. I can see his ribs I feed him every two hours or more and he's active happy and doesn't seem hungry. I'm trying not to worry, but I am feeling a bit sad....

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 15/09/2009 20:36

hellooooo - i have been floored by Orbit starting another tooth, DS1 going through a devil phase, primary school visits for DS1's application, DP being away ALL THE BLOODY TIME and complete exhaustion from feeding the hungriest boy in the world.

Plus the nightly nappy leaks are starting to get me down. Had a moment today when Orbit was screaming in the buggy because he really needed a sleep but his teeth were hurting, and I stood in the middle of the living room and shouted 'I just want a bloody cup of tea and a sit down, is that too much to bloody ÁSK!' at the top of my voice.

Think I may be close to the end of my tether.

frekkles sorry to hear about H's weight loss - has he actually lost weight or just not gained enough to follow his centile? Did the HV make any comment?

Boff am very impressed at your quick thinking - but why on earth was being stranded at work while pg a possibility? Do you work on an island?

Thankfully DP is picking up takeaway on his way home for one of his rare visits. Am feeling a bit hard done by, can you tell?

Guimauve · 15/09/2009 20:55

Kaz - why the heck not! Let me know when and I'll put some clothes on

So, is someone going to come up with a new thread title?

kazkiss · 15/09/2009 21:46

Goodie. You will need to FB your address or somethign to me (inc postcode please for satnav. ) i shall probably arrive late morning. But i will text you before i leave so that you can be suitable attired...

lol. (dont worry too much you cant look worse than i did at haven!)

kazkiss · 15/09/2009 21:47

Sorry that wasnt very inclusive to everyone else. Hi Girlies hope all is well. I intend to do proper catch up very soon........

frekkles · 15/09/2009 21:55

he's lost weight, gone from 6.12kg to 6.06 kg in the last two weeks. The fourtnight before that he was 5.99. so in the last month he's only put on .07kg :-(. And he feeds every 2 hours atleast, and twice over night.

the hv was great really, just said not to worry, he looked happy and alert, and could see that he was healthy and very active and looked like he'd taken a stretch in length. She said come back in a fortnight again and I'd probably find he'd put some on by then

I'm thinking of offering him the boob every hour for the next fourtnight to see if that makes a difference. Also have been thinking of giving him a bottle of formula occasionally, as I need to anyway since I can't express enough to go back to work and will need to supplement. Maybe these things will make a difference.

i know i shouldn't worry, but i feel a bit sad really. och well

you sound frazzled my lady! my my, how do you cope? i have so much respect for anyone with more than one!

bronze · 15/09/2009 22:22

sorry not been a round much. Its chaos here. We're having carpets fitted so some rooms are empty and others are chock full of stuff and well it s just madness as you can probably imagine. Oh to be like the Mum at school who explained the reason they couldn't find the reading book was 'oh you know when you pack up your house... to move to another part of it!'

dawntigga · 16/09/2009 08:51

frekkles your hv isn't worried, he's eating well - why are you so concerned? This is why I don't weigh Sam anymore those bloody graphs do my head in!

frekkles · 16/09/2009 09:31

i'm not really worried, just bit sad. i suppose it's me experiencing a touch of maternal guilt. i'm not fussed about the chart, but i don't like him losing weight. i feel like my only job at the moment is to feed him and if he's losing weight i'm failing him somehow. I can see his ribs :-(

AuldAlliance · 16/09/2009 09:42

Is it just me, or has the font gone all bold and dramatic on everyone's screen?

Bad day yesterday: Alex has a cold and didn't sleep, so I was knackered. Got him and DS1 out the house and down the road to the car, unclipped the seat from the pushchair base and put A in the car, before driving off leaving the pushchair on the pavement. Didn't realise till I got to the CM's. Luckily DH hadn't left for work so I rang and he legged it down the road to retrieve the pushchair.

After another bad night am feeling really rough and wondering when I am going to get my marking done.

Have just had an e-mail from 2 new incoming Erasmus students whom I have never met/heard from before. It begins 'Bonjour Auld' (well, my RL first name). Is this first-name-terms business the norm in the UK? Think I've asked this before but it gets me every time!

AuldAlliance · 16/09/2009 09:43

Frekkles, don't worry, he'll be fine. If he's growing lenthwise he may just be not laying down so much fat for the moment.
Hang in there!

AuldAlliance · 16/09/2009 09:44

lengthwise

AuldAlliance · 16/09/2009 09:44

Can't see bold with this weird new font I have. the 'g' was bold there....

bronze · 16/09/2009 10:07

yes its bold for me. Just this thread

We called our tutors by their first name at college

Guimauve · 16/09/2009 10:21

frekkles i totally hear you. feel the same way as you know we have same problem e goiung beserk so cant post properly

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 16/09/2009 12:19

mrsgboring, quick quick question - am going to buy a ring sling - Storchenwiege or Maya Wrap?

Swaliswan · 16/09/2009 12:53

WFH, I have a ring sling that I've never used and am looking to sell if you're interested. Have to go now to pick up DD1 but can post more details later if you like.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 16/09/2009 14:09

Thanks Swali, what kind is it? And most importantly, what colour? [grin}

Swaliswan · 16/09/2009 14:18

WFH, it's a Rumba Lucia sling that was made for me but because of B's harness it's never been used. It's blue/aqua/turquoise stripes with turqoise rings. E-mail me on [email protected] if you're interested and I can give you more details.

WhatFreshHellIsThis · 16/09/2009 14:25

Are you sure you don't want to keep it? Ring Slings can be used for bigger babies and toddlers too, can't they?

Swaliswan · 16/09/2009 14:25

How about...

Chapter 6 - The one where Nutty reappears

or

Chapter 6 - Bring on the food!

That's the extent of my sleep deprived contribution to thread titles.

Swaliswan · 16/09/2009 14:27

I know, WFH but it reminds me of B's harness so I'd rather someone got some use out of it as it's just going to sit in my wardrobe otherwise.

Swaliswan · 16/09/2009 14:28

Or how about a thread title...

The one where Nutty reappears and the babies find out what their teeth are REALLY for
