Hi Nelly, lovely to meet you . Hooray, does that mean I'm not the new girl any more? Anyhow I wish you a lovely girlie night out, but take my word for it, after a year or so of not drinking (much ), your limit will be reached long before it has a chance to affect your LO, haha. Thus speaks one who fondly remembers (or not)the days when a bottle a night was even possible.

Oh I'm so glad we don't have to feel guilty about anything any more. Other MN pages would have us quivering in corners otherwise.

Permission to expand on my holiday - well you did kindly ask Gui, thanks - Provence was great - long late dinners on the terrace, good food, wine (see above), a variety of greenery for M to enjoy sitting under.

Had a major scare when we went to the beach though, took her in a couple of times, she loved it, really loved it!, then I decided to wash the salt off her skin rather than her lick it off, so held her under the beach showers without checking the temperature first OMG how stupid you are saying, but you don't think about it in the moment. Anyway she just went all still, and white, and agghhhh non-responsive, I went into major fluster mode, luckily my sister who is a pre-school teacher was on hand with the right kind of first aid and a few minutes later M was pink again and feeding. Needless to say I felt DREADFUL, thank goodness my sis was there.

It was also the first time M had been around other kids for any time, and her big cousins (7 and 5) kept her entertained for hours with their cricket and football games. Now we're back home it's a big shock to her and pressure on us that we are the only entertainment she's going to get for a while. I can almost (gasp) see that having another child would be a good idea. At least I learnt a few new songs and rhymes from my mum whilst away, anyone who has family close by, I am truly envious.

Isn't it fab that some April babies are sitting and crawling! Mine really hasn't a clue, but will happily pull up to standing and wobble around on tiptoes grasping our fingers. Can't she learn independent locomotion first?!?!?! Please!! My arms are gonna drop off.

We are just back from PYO with more strawberries than I know what to do with. Jam anyone?

JJ - Sounds idyllic.

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 15:03

JJ- holiday sounds lovely I too am envious of people with families near.

Nelly enjoy your night and I can say that from my own experiences of drink that JJ is right you'll be off your rocker way before you realise and so like WFH says, the likelihood is you'll have metabolised it before the next feed anyhow

Hello PHD welcome back to the chocolate eating frenzy Sorry to hear about the extra feeds, so many of us are going through that right now.

What is PYO? A farmstore? I do love fresh strawberry jam. mmmmm

So I need your help MN Angels...
I'm going to a wedding next weekend and for all my looking I cannot find a dress (or even a top) which is semi-dressy and bf friendly. I'm getting horribly nervous (and I'll admit rather depressed and emotional) about the whole thing. The problem is that I'm still lovely and busty and curvacious (SP?)...and finding something that doesn't make me look like a hippo in a colored potato sack seems too tall an order. So any ideas? I've gone to all the normal shops (Next, Monsoon,Topshop, etc.) is there some place that does clothes (not apple shaped) for the curvey woman? I was thinking something with an empire waist (i.e. nice big area for the boobs yet a bit form fitting to the waist)... but I just can't find anything...I'm so thinking I refusing to go because I have to admit I'm rather embarrassed about my shape even though I know that it's only been abt 5 months...but still...you know what I mean...
So I'm in Cardiff now, but I'll be in the Reading area mid week again...

bronze · 29/08/2009 15:22

I just wore a wrap dress to nephews christening. Its a bit big for me so wore a stretchy vest under. A lot of tops and dresses have a bit of stretch to them. All tops are bf friendly if you wear a wrap or cardi

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 16:01

I have to say that I've been having trouble finding even 'regular' clothes which fit my breasts and still give me a figure. I don't need a bf specific dress/top, just something with access which yes, means with tops most will do as long as it can pull up....
I've tried many wrap around dresses and have decided they're no good for me. The knit fabric they always seem to be made out of either needs to stretch too far over my boobs and hips making me look a bit trampy or if I get a bigger size to fit those bits is way to loose around the waist and makes me look saggy

JumeirahJane · 29/08/2009 16:01

Wrap dress all the way, bebe. Flaunt those beautiful curves and, whoops, easy access when needed. Trinny and Susannah are sometimes right, damn them.

JumeirahJane · 29/08/2009 16:02

sorry, bebe, crossposts...

PuzzleRocks · 29/08/2009 16:17

Bebe - Pick Your Own. They have assorted fruits, vegetables and flowers.
I may go back next week and get some blackberries and apples to make crumble. Yum.

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 16:39

Oh! I love picking apples I've never heard of picking berries Cool I miss doing such things (we used to go apple picking every year as a family) Maybe I can find a place near by and do it with Moo!

bronze · 29/08/2009 17:53

oh right my wrap dress was cotton but Ive just found one I want on boden which I want but I could never have not having a mn wallet

Guimauve · 29/08/2009 18:05

Hi hi! I PYO'd elderberries today, but I think that's more foraging than PYO as they're wild!

Bebe - Bravissimo have expanded into clothes for the nicely-norked lady, try their website. Haven't looked so not sure if there's anything bf-friendly, or even wedding-y.

OP posts:
bronze · 29/08/2009 18:11

we did blackberries going back out tomorrow to scrump apples at playgroup, more blackberries and I spotted some elderberries too.

I'm hating it though cos I'm just running out of time and energy

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 18:14

I just came across Bravissimo...and they have a shop in town. But being it's most a catalogue they may not have anything actually in store...but I'm going to have a look tomorrow. Even if I can find a shirt, I can wear one of my skirts...as long as it's not a t-shirt I can dress it up with some beads and whatnot.
Fingerscrossed.

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 18:27

I'm so jealous of all this berry picking...I think I may just need to go 'foraging' this evening or something as I imagine all the PYO are closed...
What am I to do...I feel like I've missed out on all the fun today.

kazkiss · 29/08/2009 18:36

I have been looking at bravissimo and feel i now love them!!! (even though i have not actually brought anything yet.) But i have struggled for as long as i can remember with my norky norks!!

might actually be able to by a white shirt without looking like a cheap barmaid!!! will let you know how it goes!!

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 18:41

I like the look of them too.
It sounds like just what I need... I'm really hoping they have something in the shop...I'm afraid won't be able to get anything in time otherwise...

kazkiss · 29/08/2009 18:50

I think that one looks really nice if they have it in your size/ in budget?

lovely dress

kazkiss · 29/08/2009 18:52

they do next day delivery but you have to ring them for it before 1.30pm on the day before.

Yeah I like love that too kaz
It depends a lot on the fabric too. If it hugs my legs too much it might not work... I really hope they have stuff like that in the shop that I can try on...
I do vaguely remember the store, but I just remember there being undies in it... I'm hoping that it's got the clothes too. I may get a fitting too as I'm thinking my bras aren't fitting quite right any more...Is it possible that breasts can still grow after pregnancy? I mean I haven't gained any more weight...but the bra's I have, which fit me a couple months after Moo was born, don't really fit any longer... Dunno.
Fingers crossed there's something. Even a better fitting bra might make me feel better about the whole occasion.

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 19:04

I've never had much luck with catalogue shopping...never manage to get the right size...which is why I'm worried if there's nothing in the shop... but maybe if I go in and get an idea about sizes I could order too... Then there'll be lovely choice

bronze · 29/08/2009 19:04

Just been looking at the pics of the twins. Everyone elses babies seem so grown up compared to Izy. Not going complain because ds1 was very advanced and a horror whereas Izy is delightful but of course as mums do I am slightly worried

bebemoo · 29/08/2009 19:05

I do forget about ebay... good to remind me

kazkiss · 29/08/2009 19:07

I think boobs are an ever changing commodity! They are like stocks and shares and your investments can go down as well as up!

I dont think my boobs are the same from one day to the next! I think you are right to get them measured.

I want to go to the rigby and peller store to get fitted. (but can't afford to buy from there at the moment. ) Although i have been given bras as gifts from DH from there in the past! Do you think I can wear one of my old rigby and peller bras in there so when i am measured they don't do a 'pretty woman' on me and think that i am not worthy?

or i could just go to m and s!

I do think i proper fitting bra makes ALLLLL the difference.

It would be good if they did have the clothes in the shop too. would make sense wouldnt it.
