Charley, how did your visit go?

I have been reading the thread just dont seem to get much time to post (or to anything) at the moment. House is just about ok but the clothes/washing/ironing fun is a different matter. Actually i had better go sort that as dh has taken the kids to school/nursery and also taken bubs so i have about half an hour of 'free' time.

Big hello to MrsJB, TMAM, Pink, Tills, Sky etc etc xx

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 13:39

DH took me to see Les Mis on my 21st.

I'm hiding on this thread. The Friday bumsexers are out in force on active convos and I Almost Posted.

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 13:42

Myself and 8 of my friends hired a limo for my 21st. I had just got engaged (first of three engagements), and thought I was quite the grown up.

We went to a club, then got the limo driver to take us through the Golden Arches drive thru.

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 13:45

I saw a limo in Sainsbo's carpark last Friday, one girl hanging out and shouting to another girl who was tottering towards the entrance on enormous heels 'get a couple of sausage rolls too, I'm starving'.

Were you wearing a glittery tracksuit?

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 13:49

Ha ha, no actually. I lost absolutely shedloads of weight before my 21st birthday and was wearing a gorgeous backless dress. And resembling a lollipop. I had lost so much weight I was able to go braless.

I know, I know, inconceivable.

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 13:57

No bra? Never. You lie.

We went through photos at the ILs' last weekend and there were several of DH and me at our 'leaving for uni' party. I was sooooo thin (size 6/8) and I felt utterly grim for the rest of the weekend. I don't want to be a 6/8 again, I was a child but I do feel a bit depressed about it all atm.

We will need to see a photo of your 21st now. And your wedding day too please.

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 13:59

Aah, my wedding day. My finest hour.

I have no scanning equipment, unfortunately. We will have to have another meet up. Bring along pics of your 21st and wedding day.

I know, and I thought I was huuuuuuuuuuge. Embarrassing. My mum dug out pics of me on holiday when I was about 16, saying, "Look how thin you were there." Yes, mother, I was a child!

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 14:02

Your Mum sounds a bit passive aggressive PJ. Lord knows how you bite your tongue.

No photos of my 21st. I stopped appearing in photos when I turned 20. There's a pic of my wedding on my profile, which is hidden atm. Hang on...

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 14:04

My mum has an image of a perfect daughter that I currently do not fit. It's one of those things. All the women in my family are obsessed with weight.

After my aunt had just given birth to my cousin, my nan said to her in the hospital, "For God's sake Jane, you could have put a bit of lippy on."

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 14:12

Oh God my family are the same. I can't bear being in the same room as my grandmother and aunts as it's constant Fat Watch. And tbh, they aren't walking oil paintings, not that I would deign to criticise as I'm a Nice Person but gawd, how their children aren't riddled with eating disorders. Actually, my Mum is very weird about food which comes from her Mum and sisters I suppose.

Family photo viewing isn't 'oh look there's us in Rome', it's 2hrs of 'and Aunty Pat looks fat there but then she's in blue and blue always bloats her', 'and look at Sue in this one, she's alright in the face, but there's no disguising a tummy like that'. Feckers.

Surely you've seen this??

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 14:16

I can't view it at work. Clearly I am just checking in with MN whilst otherwise being Very Important.

My family are the same. And then when you lose weight they behave as if you are suddenly in line for the Nobel Peace Prize, and it bothers you how happy they are about it. Er, I'm still the same person, you know.

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 14:18

Profile visible for a limited time if you want to see me in a silly dress.

Yes, 'Caroline has lost 3 stones', 'fabulous, I hear Uncle Ray has cured cancer', 'yes, yes, but look at Caroline's slimline waist'.

Pinkjenny · 23/10/2009 14:22

I have seen that picture. You looked so beautiful. I love the shade of your dress. And get you, in strapless!! Shoulders out and everything!

I love looking at my wedding pictures, I look so, well, hopeful. Was a fantastic day. 5 years on 6th November.

Where does the time go?

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 14:31

Risque wasn't it?? Later in the evening I had on a massive, rainbow-striped, knitted cardigan over the top, Dr Martens on my feet and a massive mug of tea. But people were only looking at my flat stomach so who cares?

5 years here too. 11 years together. The time was snatched cruelly from us. I feel rather bitter.

charleymouse · 23/10/2009 14:36

Love the video SOH, you glamour puss you.

Visit okay AM, just made me think should stop at home. Have to wrestle negotiate with MW next Wednesday and get risk assessment done. Get your feet up.

Looking forward to spa day PJ and TSM on countdown now. Three fat ladies, will be hilarious.

LG&T Cheers will call you next week (if it is not your half term that is) Brill news on the reports although also

Take care everyone, just a flying visit as off to do school run. How do people hold down a job with DCs in school. Phew.

Have packed hospital bag just in case. Ready to go here

charleymouse · 23/10/2009 14:43

Okay we need to put wedding pics up on facebook or profiles so I can have a nosey.

We have been married for nine years on Wednesday. Where is my life going? It is wizzing past at a great of knots. Only been with DH since 1987 though. Started fooling around together at school and we kind of stuck it out through Uni and then ever since.

charleymouse · 23/10/2009 14:49

TMAM good luck with the run. It is this weekend isn't it?

Jam knickerbockerglory was my preferred swearing as a child. HTH

Themasterandmargaritas · 23/10/2009 17:21

You young feckers the lot of you.

Of course I have only just turned 21, again.

I'm still at the beach. It's getting boring now . Home tomorrow.

Great news Lgandt.

April, get your mum in to help, I'm sure she would be delighted.

Goto go - more Mojitos to drink.

largeginandtonic · 23/10/2009 17:34

Oh yes wedding pics great. Only pics there are of me. I swore a lot

I have read the report and it is sould destroying I feel a complete failure as a mother for letting him do this to them. He was beyond evil. Classic child abuse tactics, the poor things.

I just want to wrap them up. Such a horrid, horrid man.

At least he won't get to see them ever again.

Court will be great on Monday, he will be livid and shouty and mean

The dc are away next week as it is half term so if he storm over to the house they won't have to see him. I am a bit scared tbh.

Have to pack now but will be puring a HUGE glass of vino later.

SOH whois Dailymailnamechanger or somesuch. I do not like her.

Gin, stop it. People like that, classic abusers succeed in their despicable machinations because they are secretive, manipulative, deceptive. He tried to turn the DTs against you. It did not work. They came to you. It's testament to your parenting, how bloody wonderful you are that they came to you. And you've done everything you can to undo what he has done. And it's working. They're doing marvellously aren't they? They're coming through it. He has lost in every conceivable way. Don't waste energy and emotion on misplaced guilt. You did nothing wrong. He's ill. You didn't cause that but in everything you could control you did just right. C'mon lovely, chin up, the end is in sight. Not scaremongering at all but door locked, mobile to hand at all times for the next few weeks if only because he's going to drop himself completely in it and J's colleagues will enjoy issuing him with the restraining order he'll inevitably earn.

I have my suspicions who that is btw. Ignore.

Tillyscoutsmum · 23/10/2009 18:00

SOH - you are famous !

ShowOfHands · 23/10/2009 18:18

Oh God. Bloody Cod.

Tillyscoutsmum · 23/10/2009 19:59

It is genius SOH - I love it

Hi to everyone else. CM - I too am really looking forward to our spa day next week. I'd just suggest that the three of us perhaps do not jump into the pool simultaneously otherwise we could cause the first UK Tsunami

Gin - glad it sounds like Ex is getting what is coming to him. I don't know the details but I know you are not to blame in any way. Enjoy your vino later

SOH/PJ - my mother is also obsessed by my weight. She came to visit me (and her first grandchild) in hospital the day after I gave birth. She walked straight in, prodded by tummy and exclaimed very loudly "Bloody hell, are you sure there's not another one in there ?. You're still huge". How my hormonal, emotional self didn't tell her to fuck right off there and then, I'll never know

I've missed so much - have been having a rough few weeks and haven't wanted to bring everyone down with my whinging, so I've kept away. I feel better today than I have in months though - long may it continue

Big hello to everyone. I'm loving the Lucy pics on FB AM

largeginandtonic · 23/10/2009 20:19

Oh that is so funny SOH

Tills glad you feel better How is Tills at nursery now?
