That'll be me in Newbury on mat leave next year Lunavix.
I'll be begging you for tips.

lunavix · 17/08/2005 16:50

You may have to join our group MrsD, unfortunately not a lot to do around here. We were going to the Lakes for a picnic and to feed the ducks one day a week, and to Bumpers (soft play) at Northcroft Leisure Centre one day, and three of our houses on the other three days, but the kids are sick of Bumpers and the Lakes....

MrsDoolittle · 17/08/2005 16:51

Don't say that Lunavix. You'll upset me terribly.

Dh and I can't agree on whether to look for a house in town or in a village with one car.

Still want my house with chickens....

dolbear · 17/08/2005 17:58

handlemecarefully · 17/08/2005 21:20

Only just checked out that link Mrs D (missed it before)- the hotel looks just lovely

TracyK · 18/08/2005 10:12

Not much to say today - just wanted to keep the thread on my active list.
ds waking early again. 5.30am yesterday and 5am today. I think he feels it chilly as the windows are open - but its too hot to close them during the night. Roll on autumn!

Fennel · 18/08/2005 13:17

Happy Birthday Mrs D!
is your dd still away and missing your birthday?

MrsDoolittle · 18/08/2005 13:34

Thank you Fennel,
I've got to the point now where my birthday doesn't mean much. I'm snowed under with marking before my A/L starting tomorrow !!! Yipeeee

Fennel · 18/08/2005 13:35

where are you going on AL? anywhere nice? should I already know if i'd read the thread properly? just the weekend in Malmesbury or somewhere else as well? New Zealand or is that some other time?

MrsDoolittle · 18/08/2005 13:41

NZ next Friday - I'm off for a month.
Our weekend away is this weekend but dh says he doesn't like surprises - miserable git!!

Fennel · 18/08/2005 13:44

for NZ, look out for jobs for me there won't you?

my dp would love a surprise that had any hint of sex attached, such as a weekend away.

MrsDoolittle · 18/08/2005 13:52

Well I'd have thought so too. I love surprises!

He just can't deal with uncertainty.

Virgos! Grrrrr...

Fennel · 18/08/2005 13:57

talking of dp and sex, his vasectomy hasn't worked! he had it in April and so far no result, as it were. he's rather chuffed he thinks it's cos he's such a stud

dd1ss teacher is unexpectedly pregant with her 4th, after her dh avoided the snip. i hear far too many "accidental 4th child" stories.

dot1 · 18/08/2005 14:41

Hi all
ds2's on the mend - thank god - way too many horrible poos for my liking! So nice to have him back being his usual happy, chatty self again (could do without the 5.30am wake ups though...).

Funny all this talk about 3rd and 4th (eeeeek! ) babies. Was just thinking yesterday how happy I feel - that our family's complete! Never really had this kind of feeling before - was always desperate for babies. But having 2 boys just feels completely right!! (can you tell I'm all hormonal just before my period's due..!!)

MrsDoolittle · 18/08/2005 15:28

What kind of result are you expecting?

I thought you still produced 'fluid' even with a vasectomy!

LucyJones · 18/08/2005 21:26

Just to let you know that I probably rather foolishly started
this thread
and wanted to apologise to Hunkermunker for missing one of her posts:
"He's not been well again - think he's had another UTI He's taking trimethoprim for it after a dash to the hospital yesterday after his temp was stubbornly 40.5 "
I think the thread had gone a bit quiet at this point but wanted to apologise anyway

hunkermunker · 18/08/2005 21:28

Aw, LJ

I wasn't cross, just felt like I didn't really know you lot very well as was an infrequent poster on this thread - don't worry!

(He's not been well again, btw - temp of 40.8 - teething, I think - as it can't be anything else! Better now though - fingers crossed... Is getting horrible canines and the last of his top right molar's coming through too. And I'm getting fat again...and feeling lots of kicks!)

LucyJones · 18/08/2005 21:30

ooh when are you due? Poor ds being so bad with his teeth. My ds seems to have most of his now, most be some more to come at the back but he won't let me look!

hunkermunker · 18/08/2005 21:31

I'm due in January, the 14th - seems quite close now it's getting darker earlier in the evenings! Am halfway through a week on Saturday! Hardly seems possible! Have my 20-week scan next Wed.

LucyJones · 18/08/2005 21:33

ooh, are you going to find out the sex?
I'm sort of hoping no one else will post on that thread as I'm regretting starting it now. I was just having a nostalgic wander and felt a bit sad at that comment was all!!

hunkermunker · 18/08/2005 21:35

Sorry for bumping your thread! No, not finding out the sex - like surprises

I was due in March, so if I see the due March 06 or born March 05 thread, I feel nostalgic (DS was ten days late!).

LucyJones · 18/08/2005 21:36

don't worry, I've just added to it!!! I should really go to bed but I'm waiting for dh to get back from badminton on the off chance he might want to watch Lost tonight as we reorded E4's episode from last night

dot1 · 18/08/2005 22:17

HM - Hi, and sorry aswell... I'm another one with a ds whose temperature rockets when he's teething or ill. He's reached the heady figure of 104 (at which point we phoned NHS Direct and various GP friends we know - of course it was the weekend...!) but it doesn't seem to be of much concern to doctors unless it's over 104, which even ds couldn't manage.

Anyway, sorry - and I know what you mean re: keeping up with the post natal thread. I often feel guilty that I rarely respond directly to what others have written and more often than not use it as a kind of diary.

Good luck with the scan next week - doesn't feel 5 minutes since we were all going through the last lot of 20 week scans..!

hewlettsdaughter · 18/08/2005 23:00

HM - sorry you felt ignored before. But I don't think it was because you 'joined' the thread later than some of us. I think these things just happen sometimes. I look at this thread fairly regularly but often don't post because there're usually a number of posts that I could respond to and it's rather overwhelming! (same with the rest of mn really, for me).

Think my dd's canines are troubling her a bit at the mo. Hope your ds feels better soon (and anyone else's ds/dd that's not well at the moment! )

TracyK · 19/08/2005 08:14

nice and cool here today - blooming heat has been driving me daft the past few days. ds can get to wear his nice new White Company 'big boy' PJ's tonight.
Hope you all have a nice weekend!
