I'm actually going to bed. Bloody MOTD - had forgotten how football rules our lives. Bring on next summer - oh, no, don't, world cup.

moosemama · 22/08/2009 22:28

Definitely, I've only just mastered expressing one-handed.

Not sure really, everyone I speak to about it says its fantastic, but I've really struggled to get into it. I thought it was because I had much less time to read on holiday than usual, but maybe its not just me then.

furrymonster · 22/08/2009 22:30

thats quite an achievement!

furrymonster · 22/08/2009 22:36

I have rediscovered reading since DD in own room. My fave place to read is in bed and couldn't when she was sleeping there. I love it love it love it!!!!

moosemama · 22/08/2009 22:37

I gadn't heard of them either. Just looked them up on amazon, they get good reviews. Who am I to judge anyway, I just finished reading my third Cecelia Ahern (although it was crap, which was a shame because I enjoyed the others) and am about to buy another. I read different types of books for different reasons, some to tax my brain and work the old grey matter, some to relax and others just for fun. I like Cecelia Ahern cos she writes with an Irish accent!

moosemama · 22/08/2009 22:38

hadn't not gadn't still one handed here.

Just had a squizz at Robin Hobb's books. They get some good reviews too, but am a bit confused by all the different trilogies. Where would be the best place to start with them?

Haven't read PS I love you as someone told me the plot. Am about to read 'If You Could See Me Now'.

moosemama · 22/08/2009 22:49

No Dog it was 'Where Rainbows End' and yes, it was abject bollocks! I thought 'A Place Called Here' - the one about the lost things, started out ok but lost the plot (no pun intended) I enjoyed 'Thanks for the Memories' though, as the main character's dad sounded just like my grandad and made me chuckle out loud while I was reading it much to dh's annoyance.

I usually pick them up for pence at charity shops and car boots though, so I don't mind if they're not too good and at least you can get through them quickly without having to summon up much brainpower.

furrymonster · 22/08/2009 22:49

It is a tricky one. The trilogies do actually follow on from each other. You need to start with the far seer trilogy, then liveship, then tawny man, then soldier son. I'm on the soldier son at the mo, I don't know yet if this one connects to the others, but the other ones all did. She has just bought out a new book!
