OOI - does anyone have any of the old threads saved? I keep meaning to do it just in case MN collapsed and lost them all - they are a journal of my last few years between these ones and my other PN thread. Must get round to doing it - any clue how?

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 21:24

Evening all

Lenni - no, but realy want to print off our threads and keep them as a diary of life. When looking for posts with location in to delete it wa so odd reading about our aches and pains and our counting down. Iknow you can't go back but really wish you could all the same.

dd2 lyin gon floor [in it's self a rare thing] eating one of dd1's shoes. Her temp was 39 again tonight but calpol and a sleep seem to have done her good.

I fell asleep putting dd1 to bed [blush..........again. DH just woke me up, he's just in from cycling. He did really well despite no training and 4 hours sleep all week.

Still nearly but not rolling.

I don't mind about the lists I don't think - so I'll go with majority view.

So so so so so wish that qoute wasn't in. Or I was qouted making a more profound and generally pleasant remark. It is so out of context Bastards.

Alright Dog????

good point lenni, I did with DD (printed off the first three months) but with ours, I'd love those count down labour threads as I really haven't managed much of the newborn stuff this time round.

LenniAgain · 20/08/2009 22:36

I think I may be being overly paranoid about the lists Tree - I have no reason to worry right now. I've always been pretty careful on here and if I give any advice in a professional capacity I don't do it with this name and tbh haven't bothered at all lately as don't have time. Am hoping H is better in the morning - sounds like she might be over the worst perhaps?

rrrayray · 20/08/2009 22:36

Flying visit & super selfish post/update as don't have time to read... Hope you are all well!

Esme finally kicked cold & back to 13 hours a night of sleep......... Tickled pink, was beginning to think the waking was habit rather than being a bit poorly!!!! Zzzzzzzzz!!!

Been an emotional mess about being a single momma until move to OH. OH hit hard too- living in hotel away from your baby not easy. Thank goodness my mother and sister are here, else would be having a melt down i think!!

Took mind of it by bridesmaid dress shopping today. Lovely. But my goodness, i thought dresses would be 80 maybe 100 pounds, but they are £150 per dress, and i have 4 bridesmaids. OH well, only doing it once. For any of you who fancy a nose, second from left, bottom row, pink although this isn't the pink i'd like. The pink i'd like is more dusty, called 'vintage rose'.

Think decided on dress, not the one i linked you all before, that was TOO big. Gone for a Susane Neville (sp) one instead!!! Well, havent ordered yet, but think decided.

Re: Move- OH looking at house tomorrow that JUST came on market. Planning to rent, as in the past 3 yrs we have lived in 3 houses (all MILES from eachother) so based on that its hardly worth the effort, and stamp duty to buy if we're going to be off again in time to come! Grrrroannn. Thank goodness we don't have School aged children, only our own world's to turn upside down.

Got to run....

Hope you are all well.

Quickly, Tree, Hope Hatt Temp down & generally better.

Hug to you all. Hope enjoying lovely weather. x-x-x-x

LenniAgain · 20/08/2009 22:45

Printing - yes that's the answer - well done Dog/FLF* I'd never of thought of that . Also I think if you log out of MN the whole thread appears rather than page by page so could just hit print rather than have to go through every page.

Sorry to betray you Dog but also on Dec 2006 - have been since April 2006 I'm very old! (Well compared to you anyhow!) Think you might find there are other betrayels being committed... Elkie, EPPM, FLF, Books maybe??

hongkongzoe · 20/08/2009 22:46

Evening all...got back from lovely jersey holiday this evening...had very rough ferry journey full of seasick children (luckily not mine!) Have come back to find upstairs's boiler has leaked through Dc's bedroom ceiling and ruined the whole room...beds...carpet...arghhh! At least the insurance will cover a much needed paint job
Hope all is well in the world of Mn, have just read thorugh about 5 pages and remember...very little.
Dog You had me on the edge of my seat there!
FLF Cool website
Newspaper Grr at DM. How is Hat's temp now?
Weiged DS yesterday and he's a 20 pounder...my arms are aching...still not having much luck with the weaning, he's not interested...any tips anyone...DD bit my arm off at the first offering of food.
Ray Good luck with the move, sorry you are missing DP, gld you have your family about though and enjoy the shopping. m still on a complete wedding high!
lenni Good idea about threads...no idea how to do it...would love to read the labour ones again though...I remember posting between contractions and DP thinking I was a loon.
Right...off to sort out the mess upstairs. Sweet dreams everyone.

Like dress Ray - would look dreadful on my ahem 'childbearing' hips. Am sure it'll look gorgeous on your yummy bridesmaids though. I also like the paler pink one further up (with the empire line jewels) - next time I'm asked somewhere posh I might come back to that site.

Sorry you and OH aren't coping so well - hope house turns out to be 'the one' and you can move in quickly.

Bless you for still being on a high from wedding HKZ - I remember that feeling but not so good news about the boiler. Although maybe a silver lining with the decor!

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 23:40

HKZ - at wedding vibe, but big pile of watery poo at boiler. Still, they might pay for decorators. Fab! No help here on weaning as my little one is totally unimpresed by food. She is happy holding a rice cake or biscuits [I got those rabbit ones Moose linked to] but will have aspoon full of mush then turn her head.

Ray - hold in there girl! Just go into bonkers wedding planning mode. Time will fly adn you'll be married and moving into a shiny new house.

Lenni - don't ! It's a good point! Prob doesn't matter to me as I know no one locally to any great extent, so am happy either way. Are you TikTok??!!

Dog - thank you for sympathy, at least you all know I am not a judgey pants [blush

I've decided I'm never going to comment or give advice again. Especially work related. I might wander into a thread and give a yay or nay, but I'm not going to pass any remarks or give opinions. It's just not worth it. Shame though Will be sticking to here and nappies Yay!

H just asleep hopefully, dh just daring to put her down...........37.6 after calpol so she is still crook.
Do I tamiflu or not?

newspaperdelivery · 20/08/2009 23:43

Putting Hatts down a resounding flop. DH has taken her downstairs.

I feel a bit overstimulated and covered in babies and children. If that makes sense. Guess it's been a pretty intense week.

chefswife · 21/08/2009 04:14

rayrray Just remember that a Footballers life can be very short.

be back... DD a hand full now that she is moving around.

chefswife · 21/08/2009 06:33

Ok. I'm back but simply too tired to MN

Have a great Friday, ladies.

rray bridesmaids dresses are gorgeous
good luck with house

missjackson · 21/08/2009 09:57

hi all. Dog that's a shame about negative result but I know what you mean about being both and - for us I think really another few months before number 2 springs into being would be good. Still bf-ing every 3-4 hrs here so no danger of period returning any time soon I wouldn't think.

Had a really fun few days in London catching up with people. Yesterday I visited my friend with a brand new 2 week old baby - he slept most of the time but was soooo teeny weeny and gorgeous. N was a delight and we had a great time.

ray I agree with hkz, just throw yourself into wedding prep. I hope you find a really nice house and I am sure you will make lots of friends with the LO to break the ice - I can't believe that 6 months ago I didn't know anyone here and now I feel like I have some really lovely friends.

Oh N awake, sorry for meaningless post.

missjackson · 21/08/2009 10:02

dog I love the ergo, would be good for family outings etc and grows with her, would last for 2-3 years. Long fabric slings (moby wrap etc) not much good for out and about I find, as they drag on the floor while you are trying to put them on. But lovely at home for long snuggly holds. Ring sling (I have a didy sling) is useful too as you can just keep it on all day and slip them in and out as needed - great for popping into shops, visiting people etc as it saves your back on those short trips.

Ergo is much better than baby bjorn as the weight is distributed over your hips and waist, not just your shoulders.

Hope that is vaguely helpful, sure Lenni will be along with some properly good advice - tree is a baby-wearer too.

Ergo is my all time favourite as dead comfortable and they are really close to you like in a wrap. DD still goes in the Ergo at 2.8yo and 34lbs. I think there is definately 3 years life in it for her so probably 4 years for your little petite babies Dog!

Otherwise you would need a woven wrap now rather than a stretchy one. Storchies are my favourite and I used that for DD until I was pg with DS - she must have been around 15/16mo maybe??

The Ergo has one flaw I've noticed in that once they get to about 15mo a tall baby will start to grow out of the 'seat' and won't get too much back support anymore. At that age they are too young to have the core strength to keep their balance for long walks so can topple which is a bit dangerous on back carry. I used to keep my arms behind my back underneath DD's bottom for a while around then or use the storchie instead. Then I got too pg to carry her and by the time DS arrived she had stabilised herself and went back in the Ergo.

One final thing on the Ergo is that I'm a size 14/16 and DH has a 34" waist (or 36" on a bad day!) and we both only just fit the waist strap. If anyone has a DP bigger than that you would need to buy the waist extension - unless they have changed the design since I bought mine.

Books I have been meaning to get back to you about Ergo models - tbh I don't know if there are more than one. I bought mine when DD was about 6mo so can't remember where from, I know they are considerably more expensive now. For a time you couldn't buy them anywhere as there was some kind of legal dispute. I can't recall the details now.

Gumps - 20 mins - I'd take that, only if it was for me though

LenniAgain · 21/08/2009 15:33

Tree Not tiktok or indeed anyone even vaguely exciting or recognisable. I used to post in education/SEN related topics before and after I had DD, I do occasionally still but very rarely now. I never used to use my usual identity though as I had severe paranoia about being traced by a work colleague. Especially since sometimes you have to give out a fair amount of information to help someone with some of those kinds of topics and it would have been relatively easy for a colleague to recognise me. I would have dreaded going to work and finding the staffroom discussing my piles, rows with DH or alcohol consumption.
