Hello all

I am back from France. Had a lovely time but was so glad to see DD and to get home to DH.

I am home alone for 4 hours as DH has taken DD, DSD and DS to see his Mum so thought I would check in on you all before I lie on the sofa and read my GoodFood Magazine .

How's everyone?

MOS- well done to DS on his GCSE results- how's the house hunting going?

And Dinky- you poor thing- it must have been terrifying to see poor little Danny like that

Is everyone else having a meet-up today?

PinkTulips · 28/08/2009 13:28

[blows raspberry at PSL when MS isn't looking]

[sulks more]

[starts to pick holes in stairs carpet]

PolkSaladLucie · 28/08/2009 13:54

MS - PT blew a raspberry at me, sob sob.

yummyspottyblueberry · 28/08/2009 14:10

and dont even think about colouring the walls young lady

Glad you had a great time MS Do you fly into Dinard btw? I find Ryan Air particularly shitty there

I would be MORE than happy to come over for an Irish meet up Pink!!!!! Haven't been over in nearly 5 years (as long as your not near a RA only airport that is )

PinkTulips · 28/08/2009 14:17

[throws self to ground and begins massive screaming tantrum... estimated duration: 30 minutes hysterical crying + 15 minutes mournful hiccuping]

(PSL... 25 years of being an only child, i gets what i wants beeyatch )

welcome back MS, glad you had a good time... enjoy your quiet afternoon

yummyspottyblueberry · 28/08/2009 14:18

Where abouts are you again Pink?

yummyspottyblueberry · 28/08/2009 14:18

PMSL @ mournful hiccupping

PinkTulips · 28/08/2009 15:51

Roscommon/Mayo border.... the west of ireland.

Much as I'd want to meet you though i have to warn you your dh would possibly divorce you if you came here on your family holiday... it's been storming for days and we haven't had a single day of sunshine since may... it's rained constantly since then

If he's the type who like visiting sites of archeological interest, fishing and looking at interestingly coloured landscape he'd love it but if his idea of a holiday is relaxation in the sun and lots of organised activities he'd probably not be as keen.

Would be great to meet you if you did fancy it though

MarkStretch · 28/08/2009 16:49

Glad you've calmed down children.

Well I had a blast of an afternoon- cleaned the bathroom, hoovered, did a load of washing, straightened my hair (my GOD it's suddenly got long) and gazed at the ironing pile for a while.

I'm sure I used to have an exciting life... I haven't actually left my house today...

MarkStretch · 28/08/2009 16:52

DD had a small breakdown last night, I think fuelled by the fact she's really missing her Dad after spending a week with him, but she said (through tears)

'I really really love Frank and I love having a brother and I would never wish he wasn't here but sometimes I wish it was just me and you again because we used to have lots of fun and do things and I miss it- waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh'

I was really surprised, it's the first time she has ever mentioned it and she genuinely adores the baby. So I think tomorrow I will let her choose what we do for the day, we can go wherever and do whatever she likes.

yummyspottyblueberry · 28/08/2009 16:59

Of course - I remember talking about it last year as my family are from Mayo! DH does like fishing!......

yummyspottyblueberry · 28/08/2009 17:08

Awww your poor DD

dinkystinky · 28/08/2009 18:59

Evening all. Pink, PSL - hope you've stopped sulking in opposite corners of MN

Had a lovely mini-meet up with STW, KBN and Elkiedee and their gorgeous little men today though suspect will now be banned for life from the Royal Festival Hall after the ungodly mess Danny made with his meal

Spotty - its actually my parents who are in Worksop, so of course I would be up for a midlands meet up. We're actually up there next weekend - visiting friends in Stoke on Friday to see their tiny little baby then heading over to my parents for the weekend. Am sure there must be flights from Pink's bit of Ireland to the midlands so maybe we can adopt her as an honorary midlander

Markstretch - glad you had a good time in France. How's your nan doing? Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow with DD - here's hoping she doesnt pick a high school musical-athon....

hello all,
sorry didn't make meet up, had a pretty bad day and ended up crying for most of it. Think its finally sinking in about mum. Went to garden centre to buy some bulbs to plant at her grave and a little windmill for DC to put there and ended up sobbing in the car park. Really struggling without DH and counting the days til he comes and rescues me.
Hope you all had a nice time though.

dinky how scary about Danny.

H is crawling now, discovered it a few days ago and there is no stopping the little man now.

MS welcome back. I'm up your neck of the woods a week Monday. DH has arranged for us to see friends of his in Essex on the Sunday and has apparently booked a hotel near Diss for the Sunday night and think we will be looking at the area/houses on the Monday and possibly the Tuesday.

PT I'm definitely going to Ireland next summer to see where my mum was born, lived etc. Had hoped to go next week but run out of time.

bumpsnowjustplump · 28/08/2009 22:10

Well for all of you that are not on FB I had a right old day today...

I went into town today to buy some birthday cards. Owen needed feeding and so we went to BHS cafe for a drink and for me to feed Owen... In the middle of feeding Owen Jesssica gets off her seat and does a runner straight out of cafe and into the shop where I cant see her.... I am running around frantically, worried that I will not find her and that I will get back to cafe and my bag and buggy will have gone.... Finally find her and drag her back to the cafe only to realise that my boob is still hanging out of my top!!
DD is constantly running off now if not pinned down... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

swampster · 28/08/2009 23:12

Hello lovelies!

Scary, dinky, hope Danny is fine now. I had the nosebleed experience with DS2 when he was about seven months old - cot and baby covered. NHS Direct were pretty blase - seem to remember it was a pinch the bridge of the nose to stop it job. And not to worry unless it happened lots of times.

PMSL @ bump's boob [I've done that one too].

elkiedee · 29/08/2009 00:48

MOS, sorry you had such a rough day.

Bump, eek at your cafe trip adventures.

Should be packing but can't quite get my head round it, plus C just woke up for a feed, always a good excuse for sitting at the computer. But I have made a list of what I need to remember in the morning and piled up various clothing that's clean and dry - may need to take more to dry or wash up there. I should change over C's clothes but I'm not quite ready to put away his 3-6 month stuff and a lot of D's old 6-9 month clothes are rather wintry.

yummyspottyblueberry · 29/08/2009 07:39

I have been up since 11pm

I have not watched an all night movie-thon

I have not been travelling

I have not been clubbing

I do not like children

bumpsnowjustplump · 29/08/2009 08:05

Oh yummy I know how you feel.... I dont know when I am going to sleep again!!!! hope you have a restful day!! I had two hours sleep last night from 11 til 1 but have been up the rest of the night... I feel your pain....

mumoverseas · 29/08/2009 08:26

another one with very little sleep here. H was a little monkey last night, teeth really bothering him. Got him to sleep around 11.30pm and then DD2 came in at around 4am and decided she was going to join us and then I couldn't go back to sleep.

Am frantically running around tidying up (and paying eldest two DC to do it) and trying to find my bible to leave lying around as my mum's sister, who is a nun, is coming to stay today until Monday.

dinkystinky · 29/08/2009 12:18

Morning all from MIL's in Brighton and welcome back hugs to Swampfire - have missed you lady, hope you had a fab holiday and good to know that someone else had a similarly scary experience and all was fine in the end - and sympathy hugs Bumps (along with reins to tether DD to the spot next time you're feeding O), Spotty (along with lots of cans of red bull and some of MIL's yummy chocolate brownies to get you through today) and MoS (along with some rosaries and a well thumbed bible for your aunt and a lear jet to get your DH over to you ASAP).

MoS - sorry you didnt make the meet up and you had such a down day yesterday, lack of sleep cant help when you're feeling tired and emotional and missing your mum - hope things are better this weekend with your aunt around and that you have some nice reminiscing times.

swampster · 29/08/2009 15:51

Still on holiday, dinky, just can't keep away from MN.

MOS, your wanting to phone your mum touches a really raw spot for me. I want to tell my dad loads. And DS1 is obsessed by the fact he never got to meet him. It is the thing that makes me saddest, that my father never met my sons.

yummyspottyblueberry · 30/08/2009 07:33

Morning all! Well a much better night had by all in the spotty household, got 8 hrs so feel a bit more human again, although Swampy's post did make me wibble a bit

MOS & Bumps, hope you had better nights? MOS hope you get everything sorted/bible in top drawer etc for you aunt, and she is suitably impressed and your face is fading from bright scarlet after your shopping trip bumps it's 90% old ladies in our BHS and i'm sure they wouldn't mind

Dinky, hope you have a good time in Brighton. You doing the family rounds before back at work?

Day2 of DH cricketting extravaganza. (He is leaving me with the kids 11-9 everyday of the BH weekend to play) Hope it is easier than yesterday was
