{{{{Hugs}}}} Caddy that totally sucks, your dh's work is pants, but I'm seriously hoping that he can get the post he wants in another year and you can all settle where you want to permanently! that way bubba no5 may not have to move about as much? I like the sound of that box of chocs Uni's offering round

LL, come on woman we want photos!

Uni, fingers x'd they go and get that insurance....I thought we wouldn't be able to move in the next year, but nice lady at the bank is setting up on her own after xmas and is looking to see what she can do for us (with the new regs, being self employed and getting a mortgage is a right laugh...)

Astro OMG! I don't think I've ever been anywhere that hot sounds lovely though we're all good here, on top of a hill, so although it rained cats n dogs the other day and Littleover, Derby got a tornado that took down a garage, a few fences and a lot of roof tiles, we're still dry, if a little blown about.....(looks like the lattice on my fence with the jasmine holding onto it, is keeping my fence in place at the moment ) Your Xmas shopping sounds mad Dh and I have done the girls stuff, ss is part done and I got my prezzie to dh last Sunday when I was in Brum for my girls weekend Just my parents to get for? and great gran, but I haven't a clue what to get any of them?

So we're off to Bournemouth this weekend, for a quick bit of work Sat morning, as have to meet a distributor and do some stuff and then after that its playtime! kids in tow, but lots of fun to be had, attempting to see Flame on Sunday too Hope you all have great weekends!

UniS · 26/11/2009 23:14

say hi to flame.

Sorry, I kept the armbands and the lasso in my last post but you can have those back too. I am clearly not Wonder Woman.

I will thoroughly enjoy the virtual box of chocolates and I will hand it back when I have replaced it with a real one! Thanks Uni. I have one child jut 4 times over.

I have been up since 5:30 on the phone blubbing to my mum. I managed to tell her that I am pregnant which might account for some of the tears? She was about to go off on one repeating,"You're not... You're NOT... You're not REALLY" when my dad grabbed the phone and said that he was the happiest man in the world. He went on to say that we are great parents and that he adores all of his grandchildren. Good save! My mum took a page from his book when she managed to wrestle the phone back from him and added that she was happy if I am happy. Thanks for that. Her support is overwhelming!

I have a scan on Monday at 3:30 (2:30 there) and I doubt that I will sleep much on Sunday dreading the whole thing. ACK!

Sorry for the novel of self-pity. I am off to Ikea for some retail therapy. I should come back with some particle board; a belly full of meatballs and a big smile.

Astrophe · 29/11/2009 12:57

Caddy, thinking of you and the scan - praying it goes well. Sorry to hear your mum wasn't very supportive, that hurts doesn't it? x

Frizbe · 30/11/2009 17:16

Caddy hope the scan has gone well? {{{hugs}}} but well done to your dad on the save hopefully your mum will come round a bit more soon. Hope you had fun at Ikea, what the hell is particle board?

We had a lovely weekend in Bournemouth, got back this avo, in time to send dh off into work so I'm just working my way through a mountain of washing now (well the machine is) with me doing the ferrying to dryer etc. Could of happily stayed longer, but then that's always the case when you're having fun isn't it!

Cadmum · 30/11/2009 19:05

Thanks for thinking of me today.

I was stressed out for nothing. Everything went brilliantly. Just the one bean (PHEW!) S/he was too active and generally uncooperative to allow the Dr. to get the measurements required so assuming that all goes well for the next 28 week then this baby will fit right in with the rest of this clan.
Sorry for the brief update but I am off to bed--exhausted!

Frizbe · 30/11/2009 20:05

wow Caddy that's great news, get some good sleep, you sure need it

UniS · 01/12/2009 12:54

fingers Xed for you Caddy. good news so far about not twins eh.

OP posts:
laundrylover · 01/12/2009 16:45

Ahhh Caddy, the bean is real!!! Erk. REally feel for you with DH being away....I feel it was unnecessary to hand back the uniform although after all Uni's chocs and your increasing bump you probably wouldn't fit in it now.

Friz, your break sounded super - did you catch up with Flame?

We are muddling along here...had a bit of a wobble last week and thought about going back on ADs but back on track now. My sis is pressing for photos too so maybe we'll actually upload soon!!!

Talking of sis she has potty trained DS1 at 16 months - even earlier than my girls. Think the practicalities of washing 2 lots of nappies in winter kept her motivated! They are moving into their new house in Jan but like here work is slow and frustrating. Might get up to see them over Xmas....

Better go and feed kids (have an extra today) am thinking Alphabetty Spaghetty and make a risotto for me and DP out of some sad looking leek and butternut residing in the veg drawer.

Astrophe · 02/12/2009 03:02

Hope you are feeling a bit better LL.

Caddy, congratulations! How are you feeling about everything now? It's all on huh!?

Wow at SIL training at 16monoths LL! DS was on the way then, but only at home...and even now he is still wet at night grrrrrrr.

Good news here is that SIL is preggers - their first! Due June! Bad news is that I may be ...probably not, but feeling really sick and light headed as I do in early pregnancy, and DH and I were a little careless about 10 days ago...

Astrophe · 02/12/2009 12:14

Off to Queensland for the weekend - just me and the little one, to visit some friends. We have spare frequent flyers points from when we flew back here, so I am flying business class (first time!) yay! back on Monday, hope you all have a lovely weekend.
x

Frizbe · 04/12/2009 01:57

Astro Astro well time will tell, have a great time in Queensland and yay for sil being preggers too

LL, glad your doing ok n are back on track, 16 mths is quite early, but I recall dd2 being dry very early on, then she lost it when we went on hols n never got it back at night

Have a great weekend everyone, I'm up right now, as someone has tripped the alarm at our new store/attempted to break in, dh and the mgr are down there now, hopefully not been broken into? tba

Frizbe · 04/12/2009 02:18

hurrah, for the alarm, door had been tried, but no one got in/was scared off by alarm! now where's my bed....

Cadmum · 04/12/2009 19:41

Thank goodness for the alarm friz. It would have been awful to endure a second break-in. I hope you managed to get back to sleep.

Astro have a great time! Business class sound decadent--enjoy!

ll Sorry about the wobble. Depression is such a bear! I am glad that you pulled through this time on your own but take it easy on yourself! You are doing way, way, way too much. Relax, drink a cup of tea and know that everything will sort itself out in time.

Thanks Uni for the kind thoughts. I ought to be more grateful about having a singleton but I don't think that I can bear the thought of doing this again so I am getting used to the idea of having 5 dcs.

Well, dh got the phone call from NYC that he has been anticipating/dreading. He has been offered a job there too.

I am sure that he is feeling conflicted. It will be interesting to see how this all turns out. I am starting to think that if my life was a soap opera that people would stop watching because the script is no longer believable. Only 15 more sleeps until he is home to try and discuss it...

Astrophe · 07/12/2009 10:03

Friz, so glad the break in didn't happen. All sorted now?

LL, how you feeling?
caddy - crazy times for you guys huh? Are you not keen on NY? Must be hard if you have already got your head around Cambodia. Did you have your heart set on 6 then?

QLD was great - friends have 4 kids so in one way not very relaxing, but in another way it was, because they are lovely kids and not my kids, so I was not bothered if they were naughty! Was nice to spend time with them all, and nice to have some day sleeps and some time with DD2 as well. Business class food was much nicer !

Uni, hope you had a nice weekend.

Cadmum · 07/12/2009 10:36

Astro: I am glad that you had a good time. It sounds fabulous to have a few naps with dd2. Any word on potential db#4?

I am not too sure how I feel about NYC... Cambodia was highly recommended by the Canadian that held the post before dh. He and his family found it a relaxing and fabulous post and that is a complete 180 from New York where the hours are long and the work is endless.

At the end of the day, dh will have to give it some serious thought. The New York job is practically a dream come true as it is a research position and he longs to use his brain... Oh I don't know. I just wish that we had a plan.

I also hated having dd2 in New York. It was the worst of my four deliveries and I can barely handle the thought of reliving the experience. Fabulous outcome and we were both fine so I ought to keep it in perspective but still.

As for the 5 or 6 children: I just prefer the idea of even numbers. Very silly, I know.

Frizbe · 07/12/2009 20:10

Hmmmm tricky one Caddy, if you did end up back in NYC, could you go home to your parents in Canada for the birth? that way avoiding horrible experience again? my friend who gave birth in thailand had the very odd experience of being made to labour strapped down followed by three nurses/midwives pushing down on her belly really hard to get the baby out (unsurprisingly she tore and had bruising for weeks on tummy) they then took the baby away for the 1st 24 hours, bringing it back for feeds only, then she had two days of lessons in re shaping her body and dealing with a baby, before they let her and baby go home Not what we are used to over here, she had some of it on video, our mutual friend who is a midwife was horrified So wondering if giving birth in Cambodia would be a similar experience?? if it is, might not be any better than NYC....
Hope you can make a mutual decision on what is good for you all anyway, with out any major fighting!

LL and Uni, hope your doing good? do either of you know a good place to stay in Chester for 5 people?? (2 adults 3 kids) as we've been invited to a wedding at the zoo there next year we get to play with the monkeys after it closes how cool is that!

Astro, business class very swah! sounds like you had a lovely time, hope the rest of your mob have been behaving themselves since you got back?

laundrylover · 07/12/2009 22:04

I'm here....just catching up with all the news. How can so much happen in such a short time??? What exciting lives you ladies lead.

Break ins, global job dilemmas, busines class trips, weddings at zoos and of course possible new Ozzie additions!!!

My trips to London, Birmingham and York pale in comparison. Just saying hello really as I meant to be starting a Xmas list to see just how much DP and I have to do.....

UniS · 09/12/2009 19:19

I got to drive to teh other side of the moor.... was a busy weekend.

Preschool Bazaar on saturday, working on sunday. early start late finish, working dynamic between two colleagues was dreadful, so spent much of day smiling and ignoring.

get to work with one of them tomorrow. suspect he will be the cheerier one of the two.

good news about teh not a break in Friz.

Business class IS decadent, and rather nice. Good on you for enjoying it.

OP posts:
Frizbe · 10/12/2009 21:31

Hello girls, Sounds like you've all been getting about a bit (even the otherside of the moor which did make me giggle Uni )
I so want to get upto Chatsworth before Xmas to get the the farm shop and grab some goodies, but I have the horrible feeling I've run out of time, as busy with school concerts, xmas fairs, work xmas dinner, panto then dh has arranged a bloomin important meeting on our day off on monday, so we've got to go to that instead and the following monday we're open at the stores as its the school holidays (girls in xmas club).....gah!

UniS · 11/12/2009 14:16

boy currently screaming and sobbing in his bed, because mean mummy is insisting on his having a rest BEFORE we decorate Christmas tree. AND I've threatened to get back in car and return tree to shop if he comes down stairs.

OP posts:
Cadmum · 11/12/2009 21:28

Uni: You are a bully! How did it all turn out in the end? Happy well rested boy and a lovely tree, I hope?

UniS · 12/12/2009 20:01

well not exactly a calm and restfull time in his bed, but he did calm down and start singing christmas songs. So I left him to it for a while, then we decorated tree, then he sucomed to tummy big, 2 hours and 4 pairs of pants later he went to bed. fell asleep. baby sitter arrived, DH and I went out, had V nice evening, returned and boy had been asleep all evening so no probs. He's fine today but still TIRED. after failed rest today we have had < WORDS > He is taking a rest tomorrow like it or not and if he doesn't stay quiet the timer will be re-set, and re-set untill he has had a quiet 30 mins.

Bully? I prefer to think of it as tough love.

OP posts:
Cadmum · 13/12/2009 07:30

I was only teasing... ( I hope that was obvious.) I think that you are absolutely right to enforce the quiet time. They still need it at this age and so do the mums!

Astrophe · 13/12/2009 10:19

oh dear, maybe tha fact that DS hasn't rested since he was 18 months is the source of my troubles!?

Glad tree decorating went ok in the end Uni - we did our yesterday too - it looks so nice, smells so nice

Well I tested yesterday and was negative...so massive sigh of relief that I wont have two 13 months apart...but still not 100% convinced as I still feel sick, tired, emotional and am having migraines. Hopefully (and most likely) just tiredness and a bit of a cold.

Madly busy weekend here too (like everyone it seems!), although DH did take the kids out on Sat arvo and Clemmie and I slept 4 hours! I really needed it! Today we went straight from church, to church lunch, to the zoo, to my mums christmas party and just got back home at 8pm with very tired children (and tired parents). Going to have tea, box of chockies and an episode of house before bed.
