boo for cheeky offer. Hope you have some look on Friday. You seem to have lots of viewings at the moment though, thats good?

Moving on Fri and Sat. Not a moment too soon :) DD2 has fevers so we are a bit housebound today. Yesterday we just HAD to get out, so caught bus into the city, walked through Hyde Park and up to the Museum, was there an hour and it started to pour (lots of big summer storms in the afternoons at the moment, but was I prepared? NO!), so we got extremely wet as we walked down to the quay and caught the ferry home...kids though it was hilarious, but don't think it was the best thing for poor DD2 with fevers. She's no worse today though, thankfully!

DD1 is doing school visits every Friday morning until Christmas and enjoying it ok so far. Now that we have a house and know we will be staying in the area I'm off to buy her school uniform today :) :(

Borisismyhousespider · 12/11/2010 20:29

Well that's another viewing down! please send me some lovely buying offer vibes my way (keep those fingers x'd for me Uni!) tonights couple we're again lovely and deciding what rooms they'd use for what etc, they're just on the market as well Hmm but were debating about rental of theirs as well, so who knows...... I'm at the stage where I just wanna get moved now, I can't be arsed to clean the house for one more viewing Hmm

How you all anyway?

Uni got anything going on this weekend? did you get as battered as the north by the wind?? or a light escape?

Astro, good luck with your move, thinking of you, hope it goes smoothly and dd2 is feeling better Smile

LL, how windy was it up your way last night then?

Caddy, are you out there?

laundrylover · 13/11/2010 11:15

Morning all,

Astro, so pleased you've got a house and can move out of the parentals!! Hurrah, hurrah. Jolly movingHmm.

Boris - hang on in there missus...with all these viewings someone is bound to bite soon!! If you research buy to let mortgages let me know if you find any half decent offers - ours is out of fixed period and now on a fairly high variable. Not so good. Trouble is that we are mortgaged for nearly the house price (esp with price slump) so mortgages are few and far between. Ah well.

Uni, I always think of you at weekends and what fantastic plans you'll have!

Winds - by golly they were strong...and the rain!! On Weds I had to drive to Burnley in the morning and Bradford in the afternoon...it was wild I tell you.

Good thing is that all the leaves are now off the trees so we are heading out the back for a brown bin filling game in the sun!! Best get out of my PJsGrin and make some robot hands (cardboard boxes) for the kids to scoop leaves up!

UniS · 13/11/2010 17:17

fairly busy weekend at chez uni. fixed tehgutter netting back on , our only wind casulty I think. Swept up lots of leaves, met friends for pub lunch and yarning. more gardening, off to carnival in nearby town shortly.
Tomorrow we have 1st choir practise for christmas service, eeeekkk. I havn;t sung in a choir for 20 yrs, hope I don;t disgrace myself.

Still got fingers Xed for you boris.
HI LL, not blown a away then?
Wotcha Caddy.

Borisismyhousespider · 13/11/2010 21:17

{grin] all sounds lovely Uni and choir practice too, do we get video? Wink

LL I'll use the new mnet mail thing to send you the mortgage co I've found who maybe able to help you, they work on a credit check basis, rather than an income basis!!! (ways n means acts for landlords!)

Leaves! well thankfully all the viewings so far have been in the dark Hmm glares at the heap from next doors tree that have landed in my back garden!

UniS · 18/11/2010 15:58

wish me luck ladies. Boy has a friend over to play after school RIGHT NOW. Tis first time this particular child has been here with out his family ( he has lots of siblings). So far so good, they have walked back from school chatting about how much of your body can drop off before you are dead [hgrin] . Had a drink and biscuit, now bouncing about in boys room. I think boy is being a bit bossy, but am inclined to let them get on with it unless volume level gets too high or too low.

laundrylover · 18/11/2010 23:05

Hope those boys had fun UniGrin.

Girls made buns for Children in Need tomorrow and watched OK Go videos on YouTube with my parents - fun for all!!!

Bed!

Astrophe · 19/11/2010 10:43

hey guys, we're not back online yet, just borrowing. Move went pretty well, we are about 70% unpacked, just loads of books and odds and ends and some laundry and shed stuff to do now. We've planted a few fast growing trees and hedges, as the garden is pretty bare and ugly. Loving my big kitchen! Loving the space! Doesn't feel like home yet, but it will soon. Very, very happy and thankful to be here :)

Borisismyhousespider · 19/11/2010 22:13

Astro that's fantastic news Grin very happy for you in your new home, you sound very happy Smile

LL, you sound very rushed! hope you're ok? did you get the msg I sent you?

Uni, how did it go with the boys then?

ARGH.....that's all I'm saying about this house moving business at the moment....I have a house to move to a week on monday, which is good and I have the keys to it now, which is good.....now I have multiple options on what happens to the one I'm in now and I/we have to decide what the hell to do before monday morning when dh was supposed to be at the solicitors doing house movey things, but now we have other offers and options 'facepalm' I think I'm thankful that nothing is signed yet....
dd1 is also not happy because she has to be an animal in the xmas play Hmm and all the girls, bar two others (mary and another animal) are getting to be angels....I hope I'm not expected to make costume for a stroppy girl Hmm or do I broach the teacher! (excuse me, my stroppy 7 year old doesn't want to be in your play as a random animal - she can't even name what it is!)

UniS · 20/11/2010 20:44

Good news Astro, hope you settle in fast and love it for a long time.

Boris- you move sound even more complex than ours or Astros. let us know how things pan out in the end.

2x Boys was fine , they bounced up stairs for a bit, then came down and played a game in the living room , which I need to adjudicate a bit as my boy wasn't very good at explaining it to his mate, then they rolled about on the floor for a bit till one banged his knee on the hearth, then I suggested they both watch green balloon club, which they were happy to do, then it was time to take borrowed boy home. A good time was had I think. return match is tomorrow afternoon while DH and I are at Choir practise.

Borisismyhousespider · 22/11/2010 13:14

Right, morning all Smile I am/we are moving house next monday (gibber) movers are booked, dh has been doing solicitory things this morning, we are sticking with the original buyers/plan. sigh of huge relief!! or will be once I've packed......more boxes arriving tomorrow Confused

Uni, that sounds like a great play date Smile glad all went well, was the return visit a good one too?

Astro, have you unpacked yet?

UniS · 22/11/2010 21:50

Return visit went fine, boy has picked up impetigo tho. Possibly from that child, or from some other child in the class at school. Play date child and his brother both came out with it friday/ sat, boy erupted on Sun.

Oh Joy. HOPEFULLY, he will be back to preschool on Thursday after full week off for one sickness reason or another. I'm getting cabin fever. Thank the lord for the pub and friends willing to meet for a drink after bedtime.

OP posts:
Astrophe · 23/11/2010 11:16

Great news Boris!!!!!! Hope your going ok with the packing!

We are 90% unpacked - worried the last 10% will sit there forever if we don't shift it this weekend!

Sorry to hearv about ill boy Uni :( DD2 is ill again - after being on anti bs last week for ear infetction, she has been miserable and vomiting all day today :(

Borisismyhousespider · 23/11/2010 12:00

Oh no poorly children Sad hope they're all better soon. {{{Big Hugs}}} for the vomiting all day Astro, that's the worst bit (well that and the other end if that kicks off) which I sincerely hope it doesn't!

Packing ground to a halt, as I'm awaiting boxes to be delivered....twiddles thumbs, I was stupidly hoping for an am delivery, so I could at least get into work for some of the day today Hmm on the other hand I have made some cakes and done some bits n bobs of home paperwork....really hope they arrive soon.....

Borisismyhousespider · 23/11/2010 21:57

Hmm wasn't planning on moving house in the snow was I Hmm odds on the removal van making it up our little road in the snow, nil points......

UniS · 23/11/2010 22:14

Is it snowing??

OP posts:
UniS · 23/11/2010 22:15

OP posts:
Borisismyhousespider · 24/11/2010 22:47

Grin apparently it will be shortly Uni!!
boxes everywhere, nothing done tonight, as had to work late, and then two lovely friends came round to say bye to me (not that I'm going that far mind, but you'd think I was eh!) and brought me curry, hurrah Grin

laundrylover · 25/11/2010 10:30

A few days off and I've totally lost touch!

Uni - hope impetigo goes soon - have you got some Bactroban? It's the biz. We all have colds here so just grumpy all round Sad.

Astro - yippee for you you all!! The house sounds great -I can just see you in your big kitchen baking cakes and watching the trees 'fast growing' in the gardenGrin. You'll be all settled in by Xmas....and hopefully everyone will be well again!

...as will you Boris it seems! Missed a whole chunk of your house saga I think. Who have you sold your house to?? Did you get the asking price?? Confused Confused....happy packing though!

I've been away for a couple of days to a very posh spa hotel with my 2 southern friends. Was lovely. Back to mayhem - costumes for the girls, Xmas fair and town lights switch on tonight (good planning eh??) and everyone coughing and blowing their noses!

Luckily work was cancelled today as my line manager is snowed in (in Hexham) so I was very glad to cancel an allotments tour (brrrr) and do some work at the computer insteadSmile.

UniS · 25/11/2010 18:58

bactoban, we have indeed got, and it working a treat. Boy was back at preschool today ( hurrah) and has another school settle in session tomorrow, all morning this time.

OP posts:
Borisismyhousespider · 25/11/2010 21:38

Xmas lights switch on already Grin your councils not saving on lighting then Wink ours don't go on for another week!
Allotments would be very cold today! have you got snow yet, I heard it had hit Manchester earlier? (so someone in warrington told me!)
Still clear down here, damn well better snow though, as I got two new sledges today!! (it's the girlguide in me 'be prepared')

House sold to a developer, didn't get what we wanted for it, but has enabled a quick move before Xmas, so hopefully I'll be able to get girls into a new school after Xmas hols??? TBA....new local ed authority have sent out applications to our new address and have promised me an answer before Xmas hols as to a yay or nay for the local primary...

UniS · 26/11/2010 11:04

Fingered Xed for yay on school?? is that teh school you would chose in new location?

Boy is at school this morning. He will be having a great time, he waltzed in with not a backwards glance and inside 5 mins had been ( gently)asked not to kneel on a table by the head teacher :-)

OP posts:
Borisismyhousespider · 26/11/2010 22:18

Uni, yes school is one we would like (not sure if guranteed to get or not, bit of a trek to next village one way or edge of city the other if we don't!) boxes all over! have thrown the towel in for tonight.

Astrophe · 26/11/2010 23:40

argh, moving in snow not fun! Hope things are coming together for you, and the school works out without any troubles.

Still settling here - put some pics up on walls the other night, its starting to look like home :)

Finished Christmas shopping (hooray!!!) so no need to brave the heat and crowds closer to Christmas day....have booked kids swimming classes for next session, and holidays lessons for end of summer, and DD1 in to netball team for next year...feel like life is finally coming together (sigh).

Borisismyhousespider · 27/11/2010 21:20

Ah now that could be a plan Astro, I need to get the girls listed for new swim lessons in new pool! wonder how long the wait it? Hmm

I got the form for the schools from the new place today, was waiting on the doormat for me! have been scrubbing and cleaning out Smile dreading emptying our loft tomorrow, not sure how much will be coming with us, v's going to the tip/charity shop!

We had a good 6 inches of snow outside this am, see my facebook for photos! really hoping we don't get any more before monday...
