That's a bit of a leap CC! None of that going on here, anyway. I am still quizzing every parent-of-two I meet in the hope of determining the perfect age gap (hubristically assuming I have the luxury of choice ) Interestingly no-one yet has said 'they're far too close together, we were mad not to wait a bit' nor 'they're a bit too spaced out, wish we'd managed it sooner' but perhaps that would be a bit like suggesting there was something wrong with one's children - like saying 'I wish she'd been a boy'? - which of course I can understand why no-one does. Or perhaps the moral is that it'll be fine whatever happens and I should relax?!

Waffle waffle...

ALBS I'm with you on the camping shudders. Shall you and I book into a fabulous hotel down the road?! (Here I'm assuming I'll somehow come into fabulous wealth between now and then.)

Thanks to all for the good wishes re return to work. It was fine, of course, rather enjoyable in many ways. Of course it helped a LOT that DD was at home with DH - I don't think she even noticed I was gone. She napped for him, even! When I'm here it's boob or nothing

Miamla · 03/08/2009 21:42

hi pertelote i'm so pleased you had a good day

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/08/2009 21:43

Thanks for camping advice.
sazzles I like the look of that ready bed, but as dh is not coming dd can share an air bed with me.

hadn't thought of pegs and dustpan etc... so thanks for that.(my dsis probably has though)

buckets glad you had a good day, bless Kurt frightened of the door.
That festival looks ace I could be up for that.
dizzy that one also looks good.
I think it would be great to meet up like this.
albs couldnt we sway you.

cc me and dh also seem to do shifts on laptop.
off to check out holiday snaps.

dizzydixies · 03/08/2009 21:51

pertelote delighted it went so well, was thinking about you

I have no experience of the perfect age gap other than my girls obv

DD1 was just

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/08/2009 22:04

x post
pertelote glad today went well.

re age gap I don't think there is any right or wrong.
dd was 9 months when conceived ds. I knew I wanted them close together.
I have often thought should I have waited and given dd more time?
Or should I have waited so I could give ds the same things/time I gave to dd
Lots of things i feel guilty about (sibling rivalry) is my main one at the moment.
I know hope it will all be worth it in the long run though and I am sure they will get on eventually.
I have to say though dd was great baby slept well etc...
ds is mardy as hell, clingy and cries alot.
This may sound harsh, but I don't mean it nastily. Its just the way it is at the moment.
Clingy I don't mind but the crying/whinging constantly, takes its toll with a toddler aswell.
i wouls still do the same age gap again, although now dizzy has mentioned her age gap, that sounds perfect as like she says one is funded for preschool.
Hope I havn't put a dampner on things just wanting to be honest.

also meant didn't need double buggy or same category car seats or two cots- a small concern but eased the expense

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/08/2009 22:09

sazzles come back

god arnt I the doom and gloom of the thread, I should have stayed away bit longer.

I am very hormonal atm

dizzydixies · 03/08/2009 22:11

oh fgs don't you dare stay away No1 - hormones of all kind are welcome and coped well with on here

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/08/2009 22:12

One of my friends got preganant when her ds was 2 months. After a c section too.
She was planning on being a sahm but said she couldnt wait to go back to work as she found it all boring and stressful and couldnt wait till they were both older to get her life back.
What life would that be then.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 03/08/2009 22:14

Thanks dizzy
Have you booked anything else today?

dizzydixies · 03/08/2009 22:14

2 months?!?!?!

no more booking No1 - just looking and pricing things up

Hi sazzles forgot to reply to that sorry. No results back yet. Poo not as frequent but still nasty.
His milk intake has cut down last few nights but still having around 14 oz before bed and at least one more 7oz in the night.
I have noticed past few mornings he does one just after breakfast. Now this could be because he has had lots of milk in night and then breakfast. Or it could be because he has had cows milk on his cereal.
If allergic to cow milk, wouldnt he be allergic to formula??

Thank you for indulging my obsession Dizzy and No1! Dizzy what you say about DDs 1&2 makes a lot of sense to me and I am inclined to wait. Might just drive DH mad on the subject meanwhile though Actually I was struck how grown-up MiddleDixie and the elder Poppette seemed, I suppose I had (bizarrely) forgotten that even if DD were quite little when no2 arrived she would continue to grow up at her current speed! IYSWIM...

Oh Dizzy that reminds me - you said something the other day about inhaling your girls and when I had a cuddle with Dylan on Saturday I did notice that she is even more delicious-smelling than most babies! Must be the shampoo you use on her or something - either that or as the natural heir to your FBG crown she smells of good things from hanging out in your kitchen Yummy...

Anyway this has been a very long day so off to bed with me. Good night to you all, thanks again for another day's much valued support. Sleep well.

poppysocks · 03/08/2009 22:27

Happy Birthday Kurt. Hope he's relaxed into his second year now, accepting his bedroom door.

I too can confirm the fabness of the Larmer Tree, although last time I went I remember being intrigued by all the children there, and their parents just getting on with having a great time while they ran amok. Suspect I will fit in perfectly now .

So pleased all went well for you today pertelote. You already have my thoughts on a 2.5 yrs age gap.

Hi to everyone else

Sazzles hope you got some sleep. I too don't sleep well when DH is not around.

This 5.30 business is wearing a bit thin with me tbh.

Have to take the cat to the vet this afternoon as she's been throwing up all her food.

NezLiquide · 04/08/2009 03:40

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Edward & Lewis

sarahnh · 04/08/2009 06:27

Happy Birthday Edward and Lewis!!!

Think i may have beaten Sazzle to it this am...

DD2 was awake screaming from 12.30am - til 3.30am.. teeth?, tummy? who knows.. then dd1 comes into me at 6am.. 10 mins later a very grumpy dh brings down dd2 sayind didn't you hear me banging on the floor to come and get her???

So tired and dd1 has already had an accident with her fairy toy... going to be a long long day!!!!

oopsacoconut · 04/08/2009 07:28

Morning everyone

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EDWARD and LEWIS

Not a bad night here DD is a stuffy so can't suck her muzz and breathe which resulted in much frustration. She is now sitting in her travelcot reading 'Dear Zoo'.

Pertelote - pleased yesterday went well. About age gaps - I would love another yesterday! but there is part of me that wants to huggle DD closer and keep her as my only baby forever she is so loving, bright, happy and cheeky that I want to do like Dizzy says and inhale her with every breath. I am more inlove with her everyday and can't believe she is almost 1!

No1 - have they tested M for coeliac disease? His symptoms sound very similar to a friends DDs.

We have the kids from exwork coming to visit for lunch today with their new nanny. I will just smile and nod when she discusses work things. (they were supposed to be coming with their mother!)

NezLiquide · 04/08/2009 08:05

Oops - DS loves Dear Zoo. He can do sounds/actions for some of the animals (some of the time ) but DH and I are stumped on the camel !
