Better go and get ready- due at doctors at 10am.

runningmonkey · 05/08/2009 09:36

runningmonkey · 05/08/2009 09:40

really must preview posts/type less excitedly should read 'excused by those feeling poorly'

daizydoo · 05/08/2009 10:10

Hi there, hope everyone whose feeling grotty gets better soon.

I've had abit of a nightmare week so I'm taking a name check amnesty plse!? Ds2 had his 1st jabs last week and turned into the child from hell for the following 3/4 days. His screaming was horrific and sounded like he was being tortured Ds1 has been coughing for ages so I finally took him to the dr's and he has 'abit of a chest infection' so is on antibiotics and now ds2 has started coughing again [sigh]. All this and ds1 and ds2 were clingy and ds1 can't stand it when I have ds2 on my knee, so absolutely nothing got done in the house last week.

Fi I put all my appointments on my phone with an alarm on, otherwise I'd forget everything.

Dandy thank you for your kind words re friend making.

Running seems like you've turned a corner - that's great, makes everything seem so much better.

Momino I too have that feeling in the pit of my stomach. I can't define why I have it, it just appears. I do wish I could stop thinking sometimes. I just have this thought in my mind that I want another baby, not now but in the future. DH doesn't want any more and its getting to me. Everyone around me seems to be having baby girls. I just want to stop thinking about it for now and enjoy what I've got. Okay I'm rambling now - I need to go wash the dishes whilst ds2 is sleeping and ds1 is watching Peppa Pig!

ReeBee · 05/08/2009 10:14

pula, hope the doctor's went okay and bless your DD, how sweet.

running, yay for you and your great night! Thanks for the encouragement about Felix's jabs too.

Well, the jabs were fine. He did a big waily scream on each side and then stopped straight away, but gave me and the nurse a proper telling off afterwards when I was putting him back in his car seat. He really can be the crossest little boy! The nurse gave me some Calpol but I'll wait and see how he is in a bit. We've been to the supermarket and done some recycling as well since his jabs so he's tired out and asleep now.

Better go, DH in London today and I have copious amounts of housework, paperwork and laundry to do. Oh, the glamour...

ReeBee · 05/08/2009 10:21

daizy, crossed posts. Am sorry to hear about your nightmare week especially with DS2's reaction to his jabs, it sounds awful.

ReeBee · 05/08/2009 11:18

bugger.

there seems to be a mouse / equivalent behind the sideboard. I hate cats.

just me on here today then?

sophietom · 05/08/2009 11:38

daizy sorry to hear your boys are ill
Hope all those feeling rotten will be feeling better soon
Am watching T4 and am at Lady gagas outfit- does that mean I'm getting old!?
J woke for 2 night feeds after sleeping through the past few nights- he is snuffly though so I think he is prob not feeding as effectively as usual- plus he had a very long sleep in his bouncy chair in the afternoon

Momino · 05/08/2009 12:49

Hi all.

reeBee, was it a mouse then? glad jabs went ok. you sound very productive for 11am: jabs, supermarket, recycling then paperwork, laundry... I've got similar to do this afternoon so will turn off computer when I'm not BF.

all feeling poorly - hope you feel better. i 2nd the hot lemon/honey tonic. drink lots of it !

Daizy, sorry about ds2's jabs, hope he's better and the sniffly thing goes away too. I know what you mean about wanting a girl. I really wanted a boy and ended up with 3 girls. I do love my DDs and wouldn't change them but a little part of me always wonders what it would have been like to have a boy. anyway, hope your week gets better.

pula, lovely thing for your DD to say, made me melt .

runningmonkey, glad you had a good night and use all the emoticons you want!

My visit to the counsellor was helpful in that I got my worries off my chest, got affirmation from her, and talked about how to manage my anxiety. she's chasing my referral (from March!) for CBT which seems to have got lost. but, i still haven't made up my mind about antideps. I guess I'll see how I feel in the next few weeks . Harper was with me and had a feed, a massive explosion then a cuddle with the counsellor.

oooh, gotta go, someone at the door...

pulapula · 05/08/2009 14:27

Well Sam was not impressed with the jabs- I tried to give him a bottle straight after but he wanted to make his point first before he would accept it a couple of minutes later.

BUT he has been much more settled today which could be because he's getting older (now 12.1 weeks), or because I have been giving him dentinox colic drops (thought i'd give them a go) or because he has been having better feeds - probably a combination of all 3. He even had an hour sleep this morning (usually only 30 mins) and would have had more but i had to wake him to get to the docs.

ReeBee · 05/08/2009 15:33

momino, think it's a mouse but I can't find it although I've heard it from time to time. The cat is too interested for his own good. Might leave the unknown animal for DH to sort out - am sure he'd enjoy that after spending the day travelling to and from London and having an all day meeting...

pula, good news re Sam being more settled.

Went to HV clinic this afternoon to add to my productive day (also went to the tip, more glamour!), and F is now 13lbs 2oz at 9 weeks 2 days so gaining steadily and sticking to the charts perfectly. Not that they matter, of course... I do feel pleased that it's all my own work so to speak, makes me feel less tied down BFing all the time. Hope that makes sense!

Right, better go and walk the dogs. Am also still trying to find anniversary presents for my mum and dad - it's their 40th next weekend and I have some ideas (engraved crystal decanter, meal out at v lovely Overwater Hall Hotel which is near their house, plants etc called 'ruby', ruby port) but nothing has really jumped out at me, sigh. More internet browsing later... Any suggestions would be very welcome.

pulapula · 05/08/2009 15:41

Ree- I'm also interested in any good suggestions as it's my mum and dad's 40th anniversary in October, so want to get them something nice too!

Momino · 05/08/2009 16:31

pula/reebee, i'll join in your brainstorming for ideas - PIL 40th in sep. meal out and something to plant are good ideas...

reggie hope your day hasn't been too bad.. I'm dosed up with paracetamol and tons of drinks tea, hot lemon, cold water and hungry for all the bad calorie food.. not many of yesterdays biscuits left now! still feel rubbish but kept busy .. ds had fun at local playgroup and lunch out. he doesn't sleep during the day since he was 2 saying that I have worn him out so much he's just conked out on the floor.. will let him nap a bit before waking him. too long and he won't go to bed at 7pm.

pula that was so cute of your dd :-)

febes glad the hen survived her adventure.. saw your fb post and thought she might not make it..

FiKelly · 05/08/2009 16:46

runningm great progress with the sleeping and glad jabs went ok.

daisy sorry your two are not well.. fingers crossed your next few days are much better. I too put everything in the calendar in my phone.. but hadn't set an alarm for the appointment.. I have this time though!

I got a lovely set of ruby coloured cut crystal glasses for my mum and dad's 40th.. they have clear stems and coloured goblets.

FiKelly · 05/08/2009 16:58

reebee you'll have to let us know what your dh finds ;)

momino glad your talk with the counsellor went well.

FiKelly · 05/08/2009 18:14

well seems ds was shattered as tried to wake him for his dinner without success.. he barely noticed his bum change and getting his pj's on. he's been asleep in his bed now since before 6pm! maybe he's getting my cold too?

llareggub · 05/08/2009 18:43

Hello! We're back from our weekend away and had a lovely time. We're planning to do it again soon, as it was lovely to be away as a family without the pressures of working life! Very much looking forward to our holiday to Cornwall next month, I just hope the weather improves although we did spend some time on the beach last weekend.

I bought my first pair of size 14 jeans too, and feel a lot better about wearing them rather than my old jeans. I now have a collection of jeans in size 16, 18 and 20 and this time I am going to give them away rather than keep them. Am thrilled!

Sorry to everyone who is feeling under the weather.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 05/08/2009 20:41

Bonjour mes amies!!!!!!

I am sitting on the verandah of the gite, watching the sun set over the Dordogne. It's been 41 degrees today, ouch!

Anyway, we are returning on Monday but.......it looks like we are moving back to France in September. Permanently. We're looking at running a B&B (Chambres d'Hote) near Limoges.

DH and I have talked about this for about 6 years but we're finally doing it. God, I'm excited.

Hello to all, 'mwah mwah' kisses all round, Pastis, Pernod, Cointreau and Eua de Vie for all. Hugs for those that need.

Namecheck amnesty as t'interweb keeps dropping out, trying to catch up and failing.

S is a big, fat bundle of gorgeousness and I want to sink my teeth into her fat, creased with chub legs.

xxxxxxxxxx

sophietom · 05/08/2009 20:41

Evening all
J is downstairs with us at the moment as he doesn't seem remotely sleepy - I will try giving him a feed soon and putting him in his crib. He seems happy enough though after being a bit of a grouch this afternoon.
We have abandoned the bedtime routine for now- it just wasn't happening for us although I have noticed J is gradually developing a more regular sleep pattern.

Happy new jeans llaregub !

ps. I have sent friend requests to those on FB I wasn't friends with.

Grumpyoldcaaaaaaaa · 05/08/2009 20:43

You sound very happy- great news about moving to France

llareggub · 05/08/2009 21:14

grumpy We'll be guests if you like! Will you be family-friendly?

Tummum · 05/08/2009 21:40

Evening ladies, from a ever so slightly less glamorous French setting than Grumps ... the awning of our caravan ! It is well plenished with stocks of vin, badois and yummy snacky food though, and all DC are sleeping

Had a bit of an eventful trip down here. DH's bright idea was to book a very very late ferry, turn up early, pop onto an early one and drive through the night to reach the campsite at lunchtime-ish. What actually happened was all the previous ferries were full, so we sailed at 2.30am (yes, 2.30am ) landing at 5am french time. DH then drove for an hour while we were all sleeping, but fell asleep at the wheel and bumped a crash barrier. Car and caravan a little smashed, but thank God no-one else hurt and we were all OK too. I've spent the first couple of days of the hols freaking out about the could-have-beens, and can only conclude that someone was watching out for us because it could have been a million times worse. DH is in a bit of a state about it too. Just not worth thinking about what could have happened. Anyway, it's lovely here and DC are having a fab time so all is well.

Llare at jeans.

Hot-toddies to all feeling rubbish

Monimo glad you got some support from your counsellor.

Gonna go now as being bitten to death. Will catch up on my return as the wireless here is a bit haphazard. Toodle-pip

FiKelly · 05/08/2009 21:47

hiya grumpy.. but sad about you're guinea pig though..

I think grace has my sore throat.. she's fed on and off all evening quite happily.. until.. have just had to do a major mopping up operation after a major projectile vomit fest.. after which she's a giggly smiley chatty girl I reckon she'll have one final but small feed and conk out for the night..
