runningm, glad you're venting about mil. otherwise you'll explode. dandy, can't stand passive/aggressive types as well.

speaking of MIL's, mine is coming up tomorrow to take care of dd1&2 so I can take Harper for her 2nd jabs on my own. she's very, very, very, very, very nice and sweet. to a fault. she will say nice things just because she thinks you want to hear them - nice at first but gets on my nerves after 10+ years. i think she does say things to rub as well. anyway, I will just focus on appreciating her for coming to babysit.

has everyone had a good day? quiet on here so I'm hoping the answer is yes. we had a lovely day out in the park for a friend's 2 year old's birthday. can't imagine we'll be as lucky with the weather tomorrow.

HI ladies. Sooooooooo sorry to have abandoned you all but never have time to read never mind post. Still, I feel included a little bit as I pop onto FB quite a lot (for about 30 seconds at a time!) and do a quick scan of everyones antics and cute pics. So HI to everyone, I do miss you all. Hope you're all ok - baby H is now a giant and is off the charts for his length. He is 11.5 wks old now and tonight is wearing a 6-9 month baby grow (and it fits him alarmingly). Apparently he's going to be Tall or so the HV tells me...... (I'd never have worked that out!) Night all. Take care of yourselves and your gorgeous little babies. x

frazzledoldbag · 02/08/2009 22:25

Hey momino lovely to 'see' you. You ok?

frazzledoldbag · 02/08/2009 22:26

and dandy hope your little baby H is coming along well. My DH still calls our H by your H name sometimes.

frazzledoldbag · 02/08/2009 22:34

see nothing changes. Here I am talking to myself again. Boo.

frazzledoldbag · 02/08/2009 22:36

except now I'm typing with one hand whilst feeding giant boy in the other arm,

Just a quick one before I go to bed after a long day. It wasn't pretty at times, but we survived our first DH-less bed time! I know there are people out there who do this all the time, but I'm a wimp and was terrified. Not really looking forward to five more like this, but hey, at least DH has still got a job.

Catch up properly tomorrow, got to go as at least one of the girls will be awake before 6 and with no DH to get up I need my sleep...

FiKelly · 03/08/2009 07:10

frazzle i too feel a little bit more in touch with everyone on fb if things get manic and i don't have enough time to MN

dandy glad the temp has gone and that you are getting over your cold.

flippin hope you got a good sleep & i'm with you on 'surviving bedtime' when dh isn't around.

Momino · 03/08/2009 07:15

frazzled, sorry I missed you. things ok but really feeling anxious lately. luckily seeing counsellor Wed. just don't think an hour with her is going to be sufficient .

sounds like H is doing so well. do come back soon. otherwise see you on fb.

flippin, hope you got sleep. well done for surviving bed time. i know what you mean by 'not pretty' - we've had many of those even when dh is around weekend eves to help. and i certainly don't think you're a wimp .

dandy, so glad H is feeling better. it's scary when LO gets a temp.

bf session nearly over. haven't heard peep from DD1&2 but better close laptop before dd1 comes to hop onto the bed. hope everyone had a good night.

morning momino had to dash.. g filled her nappy in spectacular style.. i heard it all the way from across the room while in our en suite! lol then ds was demanding his lego.. more food.. different channel on tv.. at least now i'm dressed n settled with hot cup of green/mango tea.. just to pin catch ds to get him out of his pj's before g wakes up for her next feed..

flippineck · 03/08/2009 09:26

Morning all!

Thanks for all the wishes for good sleep, it was ok but could have been better. A was really windy in the night but didn't wake up, she just fidgeted, grunted and farted all night! Woke properly at 3 for a feed, then again at 5:30, and DD1 woke up at 6:15. I don't like being up that early really (who does?! ) but on the plus side I have got two loads of washing on the line and made some bread. A is still asleep, but DD1 and I are washed dressed and ready to go out later.

frazzled - good to see you again! And wow, what a whopper.

FiKelly · 03/08/2009 09:32

morning flippin glad your night wasn't too bad. i get the early shift too.. dh leaves for work just before 6am so i always have to get up with ds.. usually not much later 6.30am at the latest. g usually wants fed at 5.30am so very often my day starts then..

FiKelly · 03/08/2009 10:07

I've only managed one load of washing so far though ;-)

Momino · 03/08/2009 12:48

flippin, 2 loads of washing AND some bread? all by 9.26am? am in awe...

flippin and Fi you two put me to shame when J wakes for a feed at 6 I feed him then put him back in his crib and we all go back to sleep till 9.30ish
This is prob why he won't sleep until 8.30 at night!

Febes · 03/08/2009 13:36

Sophietom Believe me when I had just 1 DC I did exactly the same. Feed in bed watch a bit of GMTV together and then both go back to sleep for a few hours. Ohhhh the good ol' days. Enjoy it while you can.

I'm lucky that DD rarely wakes up before 7 and her normal time seems to be 7.30 which is quite respectable. DS is STILL waking 3 times a night 11ish, 2ish and 4ish. Then up for the day (well a couple of hours anyway) at 7ish. DD was sleeping 8-12 hours a night by 10 weeks I was sooooo lucky with her. He is sleeping better in the day now though so I can't complain. He is still really snuffly so I put Karvol on his sleepsuit last night but it didn't seem to help much.

Oh no someone is waking up upstairs not sure if its DD or DS so I better dash.

Oh the good old days with only 1 DC- I would do the same- in bed feeding/cuddling in the morning til 9.30 or 10am.

Febes- DS2 is still feeding regularly in the night too- last night 11pm, 2.30am, and 5.15am but at least he slept til 8.30. Sometimes its just 11pm, 3 or 4am then up at 7am. And sometimes if we don't dreamfeed he can go from 7pm til 2.30am .

runningmonkey · 03/08/2009 15:01

Hi Folks, you'll be pleased to know I've calmed down now

Well done on bedtime and the morning activities flippin

Hey Frazz glad all is well

Dandy glad H is getting better and you are too

pula, febes and others, DD is still waking regularly at night but its more like every 3 hours now rather than every 2.

I have to say that DD is sleeping v well in our bed, mainly because we both fall asleep while she is feeding and then I usually wake up when she comes off with no idea of how long she's been feeding for Our mission this week is to try her in her cot in our room, we're concerned about our hol in a few weeks as at the moment it will be me and DD in the bed in the campervan and DH sleeping on his own in the bedroom in the awning If we can get her in the cot, we'll be able to get her asleep in the travel one in the camper so at least me and DH might get a bit of a cuddle

Got first jabs tomorrow am, have calpol at the ready. Am hoping that she'll be ok tho as we've been offered 3 free baby massage sessions starting tomorrow afternoon.

pulapula · 03/08/2009 15:45

Just wondering if anyone else is still swaddling? We are, but i do worry as DS2 won't settle on his back, so he sleeps on his side, with a "positioner". However, he will usually end up on his front. Not ideal when his arms are tightly by his side (although he does have a strong neck).

FiKelly · 03/08/2009 16:15

sophiet i would love to go back to bed thankfully g sleeps 7hrs over night or i'd be a zombie

dh had done for his back.. nothing to do with me but playing with ds on the floor yesterday. he's hobbling like an old geezer and had to go to the doc's.. now has kick ass pain killers & anti inflams and off for a week to get in the way better.

swaddling we gave up within 2wks.. g kept objecting.. likes her grobag though

Jennster · 03/08/2009 20:58

sophietom I used to do the same. I was also still having an afternoon nap when I went back to work. On the days I wasn't working I would still nap in the afternoon and then suddenly I was pregnant again so it carried on. In my defence though, I got meningitis 2 weeks before I was due to go back to work, and stupidly still went back. I don't think I fully recovered from it until I was 6 months pregnant with ds.

frazzled dd2 is also in 6-9 month vests. The small supermarket/mothercare/MandS 3-6 sleep suits are absolutely on the limit, but Next ones are fine. Dd2 is also 11 1/2 weeks old. Not particularly heavy, just LONG. She's wearing a 3-6 winter dress (hasn't it been cold the last few days?) I bought for dd1 who was born in January and was tiny, so she must have worn it at about 9 months. It's just decent on her now. It's meant to be a long one.

Blottedcopybook · 03/08/2009 22:01

Aloha! Sorry I've not been around lately, went away with the kids on holiday last week and I'm just getting organised.

How are we all? x
