looby Looks like Mothercare stopped selling them, couldn't find it on their site. ELC do this though.

llare I might have worn a bikini, but I still have a wobbly tummy. I just was determined to wear one and not to hide my body.

Our caravan was a bargain from eBay last year. It was in really good condition, 15yo and it had the awning and everything included. It's been worth every penny really as it's our 2nd holiday + we've had loads of weekends away in it too. There's this little site in Kent where we go for £5 a night. It doesn't really have any facilities, except for water, but the beauty of a caravan is that you don't need that. We've got a shower and toilet built in and the fridge runs on gas. Because it's so small we can sit back and watch the dcs run around without worrying where they are. TBH, we missed that on our holiday because the sites we stayed at were bigger and noisier than what we have become used to.

Belgianchocolates · 08/08/2009 21:58

looby She'll still need a swim nappy in the wetsuit, because they're not designed to keep poo in and swim nappies are. C wore a little swimsuit with a built in nappy, but if you can find the type of swim nappy that you can tie on rather than pull on it's better really. I remember dd1 doing a poo in her built in nappy and it wasn't very nice to pull the suit off as you can imagine. Much easier to be able to just open it like a proper nappy. The disposable ones are good too, because you can tear them open, but they do work out more expensive in the long run.

Belgianchocolates · 08/08/2009 22:03

llare I just had a look at your fb pics. Where did you get ds1's wooden bike from? I saw one of those in France and thought it was brilliant.

llareggub · 08/08/2009 22:21

We bought it from these people but I can't see it online. We bought it from their real shop in Alcester. It is a great shop. DS loves his balance bike, and he freewheels down hills scaring us to death. I think he'll learn to ride a real bike very easily, as he already has the balance he needs. I can highly recommend it!

runningmonkey · 09/08/2009 16:18

Hi all
had a lovely quiet weekend with dh and A getting stuff ready for hols, hope everyone else has too.

Thanks for the swim nappy chat am off to buy one for our hol just in case although given ourcampsites pool is outdoor I don't think we'll be using it unless we go somewhere indoors or there is a freak heatwave (ooh yes please)

right off to look at hol pics and admire this hat everyone's talking about

LoobyLou36 · 09/08/2009 18:59

thanks for the swim nappy advice belgian

Belgianchocolates · 09/08/2009 20:02

No probs looby.

Thanks for the site llare. I think I've already found C's 2nd b'day present

C hasn't done a poo yet since coming home from our hols. That's 3 days now. Oh it'll be a big one when it comes

I've been v. busy today. More ironing and laundry. Lawn mowing too.

The cat had left bits of bird in the bathroom today. Not very nice to get up in the morning and find a bird leg, wing and some sort of birdy organ on the bathroom floor.

Febes · 09/08/2009 20:24

Gorgeous weekend, hope everyone enjoyed the sun.
All this talk of swim nappies is making me excited about out holiday in 5 weeks time. I can't wait!! I am lucky enough to have been given a packet of disposible swim nappies to use and they should fit both DD and DS.

DS has had a few days where he has not slept much during the day. 3 short naps of 30-50 mins. I keep telling myself that it is only a phase and he will nap better soon but for the time being its a bit knackering.

LoobyLou36 · 09/08/2009 20:56

M has done a really strange poo tonight - quite solid and very green - is this normal? Also it smelt more like a grown up poo - weird.

Momino · 09/08/2009 21:04

Hi all.
belgian,I love your holiday photos. looks like you had a fabulous time. has C had her poo yet?

had a lovely weekend with the weather the DD's, inlaws, etc. FIL and DH even managed to get a little work done in our never-to-be-finished kitchen. seems like it just needs a couple of coats of paint, the ceiling done, new lights. then, there's the dining room, newly plastered after dampwork. ours is the type of house that will never be 'finished'.

all this talk of holiday... wish we were going somewhere, sigh.

hope everyone has had a good weekend. I suspect you did .

just popping on to say hi & sorry for being awol.. name check amnesty needed please.

have been manic since wed as ds was having a joint 3rd birthday party yesterday with my friends little boy ds's pal Will who was 3 last mon. Lucy and I decided it made sense as they have so many cross over friends. Lucy took care of the pass the parcel & I volunteered to do the cakes.. so all my spare time thursday and friday was taken up creating a peppa pig george cake for Will and a dragon cake for ds! The party was yesterday and they all had a blast. Today was another 3rd birthday party and we've another on 3rd bday on wednesday too!! I'll post pics of the cakes when I'm next on the laptop..

It's ds's actual birthday tomorrow so dh & I are taking him to bristol zoo with nanny, grandpa, my auntie and uncle.. hope weather holds ds & dh have never been so really looking forward to it.

love all the new photos on fb everyone's been uploading.. weddings, holidays, our gorgeous not so new arrivals.. happy days indeed

FiKelly · 10/08/2009 07:10

morning

can't believe I'm the only one awake in our household atm.. dh is snoring away.. g is still asleep but making a racket as she's full of snot.. I did hear ds put his mobile on earlier but he must have gone back to bed as even he's gone quiet again ! Typical.. I could be asleep but I'm wide awake.. with rock hard boobs as g last fed at 9.45 last night.. nine and a half hours ago!!!

ReeBee · 10/08/2009 08:45

Morning!

Felix slept through

hurrah hurrah hurrah

Needless to say I woke up at 4am anyway wondering if I could hear him (I couldn't) and then again at 6am - like Fi, was suffering from rock hard boobs. I kind of woke him up [bad mummy emoticon] at 6.30am just so I could feed him.

DH has gone to Nottingham this morning but because F had gone back to sleep and I was up and about I walked the dogs without F while DH got ready and kept an eye on F - meaning it's not 8.30 and everything and everyone is ready for the day. I've even washed my hair!

Pleased to hear about everyone's lovely weekends. Fi, hope DS has a great birthday.

Momino, your house is fab, so much character. I know what you mean though, it feels like painting the Forth Road Bridge sometimes...

Belgian, eugh about the bits of bird, poor you - and poor little thing. It really upsets me when that happens. We have just started locking our catflap one way at night so the cats can get out but not back in. I feel bad about doing it but we were getting an animal / bird every morning and I couldn't cope with it. We have 2 cat flaps, in and out of our utility room but only the external one locks at the moment: I want to swap them at some point so in winter they can come into the utility room in bad weather, but no further.

pulapula · 10/08/2009 08:51

I am of these sleeping through babies. On Sat night S did really well as he fed at 11pm then 4.45am then 7.45am. But last night it was 11.15pm, 2.15am, 4.15am, 6.30am. I don't feel too tired as I got that good solid sleep on Sat so here's hoping for a good night tonight.

pulapula · 10/08/2009 08:52

But well done Felix anyway

ReeBee · 10/08/2009 08:56

oh, pula, I'm sorry - if it helps, am sure F's sleep is a freak one off!

Febes · 10/08/2009 09:20

Reebee Me too me too!!! R slept from 7.30 till 7.30. I can't believe it as until 2 nights ago he was regularily waking 3 times 11, 2, 4. Then out of the blue the night before last he went from 7.30 till 4.30am and last night 12 HOURS. Pula there is hope for you as our DS's have been similiar so maybe your turn is soon. I have to completely cahnge my bedding though as I completely flooded breast pads, bra, sheets, duvet- gross!

Not much planned for today. I'm going to post a baby gate that I sold on ebay. I was given it and its sold for 12.50 so that was a bonus. I have another one the same so am going to list that too. We found 3 pairs of brand new wellington boots in the shed so sold them last week but only made a pound as I under estimated the postage but at least we decluttered and didn't make a loss. Its a bit addictive .

LoobyLou36 · 10/08/2009 09:30

morning all..

bad start to the day, I'm currently drinking black coffee and eating biscuits for breakfast milk is off so no cereal and my DH has thrown the crumpets away

so not a good start to my diet holiday is 6wks today and I really need to get some more weight off. Would love to wear a bikini like belgian did on her hol

have got Davina's workout dvd out - perhaps today I will take it out of the cellophane

Jael · 10/08/2009 09:31

Hi all.
Hopefully I'm going to be able to get on MN abit more soon, the most I can do atm is update my FB status when I can lol I'm getting better, slowly, starting to feel abit more like me I've managed to get out the last few days, had a couple of picnics in the park and made use of the beautiful sunshine. Baby J has been in a baby swing in the park for the first time and his sister pushed him, slowly, was really cute. We've had a few little bedtime troubles in our house, with DD, she's 3 1/2, ad normally goes down and gets up perfectly, but with me in and out of hospital and having a little brother everythings got on top of her and she's started being a monkey at bedtimes. We've tried everything...when we take her up she cries and uses every excuse she can, "I need a wee" even though she's just been, "when are you coming to bed?" etc. She doesn't like the face that J sleeps in our room, and however much we explain, I know she's only only little so she doesn't really understand. And then in the morning, very early morning! We get banging on the bedroom door "Is it time to get up yet, MOMMY!!!" We've tried taking stars off her chart, taking toys away. Nothing seems to be working. And normally she's so so good, so for her to do this it's really strange. J on the other hand is still going from around 7-8pm till 7-8am, so it's like they've swopped places!
My operation has had it's positive effect on me, I'm now a stone lighter than I was before I got pregnant with J so I'm ver about that lol as I get stronger in the next 2 weeks i'll be able to do more around the house, finally take the children out by myself, and actually have time to catch up with you guys again, even though, I don't have time to post, I do read the thread all the time XX

pulapula · 10/08/2009 09:32

febes- Well done R, and i hope S will follow soon. On Sat he woke at 11 for a feed, then last night we woke him for a feed and he took 5oz of EBM - still not sure whether to or not as it obviously didn't help him go longer last night

LoobyLou36 · 10/08/2009 09:35

the weathers turned bad again here - currently raining

might go to a bounce & rhymme session today, it's only for half an hour and we haven't been before but I think M might be old to enjoy it now

flippineck · 10/08/2009 09:51

Morning all.

Sorry, might have to give namechecking a miss - just jael - lovely to hear from you and glad things are improving.

Quiet day here, A has gone back to sleep and DD1 is at the CM all day. A has been sleeping through fairly regularly now, this week she's been sleeping from 9:30ish to some time between 6 and 8. Day time sleeps have gone back to being random though. She was grumpy and unsettled all weekend but she had a huge poo this morning and went back to sleep. Really I need to get dressed and do the ironing!

Very mixed weekend for us. DH got home Saturday which was great, went to a birthday tea in the afternoon. But Sunday morning my phoned to tell me that my uncle (her brother) had died very suddenly in the night, we don't know why yet. She and my grandmother were with him, he lived with my grandmother as he had severe learning difficulties and she was his carer. Don't know when the funeral will be as there's got to be investigations first.

Belgianchocolates · 10/08/2009 10:38

Morning all,

Jael How great to hear from you. Glad you feel better now you've had your op. Also great news about your weight loss. At least there was 1 good thing about feeling poorly

sleep C is turning into a v. sleepy baby. DH said that apparently he slept a lot as a baby too. Lately she tends to go to bed at 7, I give her an 11 o'clock dream feed, then she carries on sleeping until 7-7.30. Then in the day she is awake for 2 2h bits and 1 1h bit, more or less. So all in all she sleeps for about 19h a day! Today I must have slept through her waking up at 7, because I woke at 8.30 from her rooting and thumb sucking. So I thought that she must be waking. I fed her and she promptly went back to sleep and still is . I keep going upstairs to check on her and every time she's still asleep.

reebee That's actually not a bad idea to lock the cat flap at night so she can go out and not in. It would also prevent her from waking me every night at stupid o'clock meowing because she wants to show of another little "present". Honestly I'm so tired and it's because my cat wakes me in the night, not the baby

The weather is rubbish here too. I think I'll spend some time today taking pics of stuff to put on eBay.

Still no poo here...
