I wasn't fussed by the cosmetics and stuff, and certainly wouldn't pay full-price for anything, but for token gifts (and brightening up my afternoon) and some of the jewellry, it's OK.

yay for jamlet!

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2009 22:15

jammy, for the reason of not being arsed going upstairs is why I change my DC on my lap!

sounds like a nice afternoon and yay on the potty success. DD said she needed a wee when I was bathing bumble so I took her nappy off and plonked her on the loo and she did one (yay for a white toilet so I can now actually SEE whether she has done one or not ). Bad mummy though for leaving bumble momentarily to pop next door to the loo , but I could hear him giggling and splashing.

actually on that note, we have had a full glorious technicolour description of every wee that DS1 has had since the unveiling of the new loo.......it was cute for, oh, about a day, I'm getting bored with it now and I hope that he does soon as well!

Still feeling horrible here with no lessening of the frequency or violence of my expulsions . Am going to call the docs in the morning, although there isn't anything they can do. But, the scales say I've lost 5lbs since yesterday morning!

Ria I have some unopened Virgin Vie Mascara is you want it. I got it free, but I don't actually wear mascara as it makes my eyelashes come out in clumps.

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2009 22:17

and I had an email from the MB lady; some of my tester questionnaires have gone awol in the system so I'm going to have to do them again

OP posts:
RIAlityBites · 19/08/2009 22:23

thanks daisy, but I don't often wear mascara either as I'm an eye-rubber!

you are still ill.

I am waiting for DS2 to go to sleep on his own. It's not happening. But DH isn't jumping out of his chair offering to put him to bed

LittleMissNorty · 19/08/2009 22:33

blimey I never take my two upstairs for a nappy change. I do it on the floor or my lap or on a changing mat on the floor if its a disgusting one! DD now sits on the potty quite a lot for wees in order to get a ITNG sticker to stick on the side of her potty.

Took DS to doctors tonight as he hasn't kept anything down today....milk or solids and have only had dry nappies. He's ok but have got some medicine for motion sickness that you don't give to under 2's 9I do wish I hadn't googled it )....but he (and the pharmacist) said it would be fine. It's also a bit of a sedative so here's hoping for a nights sleep!

I never used to be seen out of the house without a made-up face. When I went to work last week, DD stared at me for ages when I was putting my make-up on like I was an alien

LackaDAISYcal · 19/08/2009 22:34

ah, well, if anyone fancies some virgin vie mascara let me know......better someone using it than it going the way of the bin.

LittleMissNorty · 19/08/2009 22:34

get yourself to doctors Daisy (with a sample). That is not a normal D&V bug.

RIAlityBites · 19/08/2009 22:36

trousers daisy and norty - I think they are 6-9 and 9-12 (brand new mini mode jeans I got from freecycle in a bundle, daisy). FB me and I will post them to you!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 14:54

ooh, thanks Ria, 9-12 fits Finlay lovely at the minute :0)

How is DS today Norty? I hope he's OK.

Seen the doctor, who was very scathing when I told her why I was there, her exact words being "and what is it that you want from me?" . Anyhoo she says it sounds like food poisoning, but as I couldn't think of anything obvious that I've eaten that no-one else has had, it might well be a bug and to come back next week if I still have issues. she said take paracetomol for the cramping and keep up my fluids. I can't even take a sip of water without being doubled up in pain which is as bad as my gallbladder pain at times . She's also referred me to the CMH team as I just sat there and sobbed about how angry and irritable I feel all the time and how I can't seem to cope with everyday stuff.

I have shouted at the children all morning as well (see aboove about being irritable), as I was so sick of the fighting and shouting and especially sick of DH who asked me to look after them so he could go out and have a bloody cigar and then got antsy with ME when he came back in to bumble shouting, DD screeching and carrying on and DS1 pulling her hair and me AWOL (er I was on the loo, did he expect me to shit myself?). They pee'd off out for a couple of hours though so I managed to get some kip and feel a bit better.

Still I've lost half a stone

AwDaisy, sorry you've had a shit time of it (pardon the pun) today. And about your GP's reaction! When I had those symptoms, my GP was ringing me at home to check I was OK, bless him!

Had an up and down day (see here) myself, but not too bad.

RIAlityBites · 20/08/2009 17:13

do you know, I think there's something in the water ATM. DH and I keep sparking off each other, which isn't usual. The young couple (of the police incidents - latest being 2 cars arriving last week with full sirens!) have been rowing in the garden loudy for a few days (including this morning, so I was expecting more police this afternoon, but instead came an ambulance, they seemed to take the baby in first, then the couple got in too, but he was upright and being carried on the ambulance persons hip, so hopefully not serious), and my mums dodgy neighbours were having a shouting match last night when I left, that went on into the night. (obviously our DH troubles are not comparable to that)

sorry you still feel grim, and that your GP was not helpful. and good that you have a referral too. Only 2 weeks left...

RIAlityBites · 20/08/2009 17:15

have posted on your thread jammy to bump it for you. hope you are OK

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/08/2009 17:48

Thanks Ria

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/08/2009 20:45

Hi everyone

at GP's bedside manner, Daisy

Jammy - I think you are doing the right thing. I too have a phone number, and need to actually phone it ....

LittleMissNorty · 20/08/2009 20:58

Hello ladies

DS seemed a bit better today although I have concentrated on formula feeds and not so much on the solids. A welcome side effect of the medicine is its a sedative so we all got a decent night's sleep last night! He went 7pm till 5.30am minus a few minutes when he got his leg stuck in the bars of the cot! Does anyone know what the current thinking on cot bumpers is?

We have been here today and it was a bit windy! However, walked a few miles which isn't bad for someone who had surgery on Monday . Dog and DS loved it, and DD was a total whingebag!

Blimey Daisy, I thought my GP was crap.....salmonella and a couple of others are notifiable diseases and you have been like this too long. Have you had any takwaways recently? My dad got salmonella once from a fish and chip shop and it nearly put him in hospital.

Jammy, good for you! I find it really works for me.....and I hope it does for you too. Your turn now Fairy!

Crapping myself about DHs job situation....who knows what's going to happen....very difficult to be positive though. I don't do stress very well!

Thanks for trousers Ria

Taking DD here tomorrow. Lets hope she's in a better mood! Poor DH hasn't had much of a week off has he?!

FrazzledFairyFay · 20/08/2009 21:17

Looks like fun Norty. I can't believe you are able to do so much so soon after your op - well done. When can you have your curry?

LackaDAISYcal · 20/08/2009 22:14

Norty, I'm conmvinced it's campylobacter and could have been contracted anywhere as we ate out loads on holiday and I ate some sliced chicken that was a bit dubious looking but smelled Ok (perhpas my nose isn't as reliable as it once was ) and worse, I put it in some warm pasta to have as a pasta salad lunch (damn not being able to do sandwiches!) and then it sat in the boot of the car on a pretty hot day (it was actually still warm when I ate it ......I forgto all this at the GPs this morning. It ws last Wednesday so fits with the gestation period as well.

DH has made me some lovely oral rehydration fluid with a huge glug of ribena in to make it more palatable; it's actually quite nice.

paracetomol has doen diddly squat for the stomach pain.

days out look nice norty, but just watch you aren't overdoing things . Glad DS is better todays.

My GPs are usually pretty good actually; there are one or two to avoid but for the most part they are fab. One in particaular who has a very amusing name, is fantastic, as is his wife who works there too. they both have the same initial as well, so get called Dr Mr AmusingNAme and Dr Mrs AmusingName by all and sundry.

sorry rambling....need slepp.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 20/08/2009 22:40

Daisy, from what you've described it sounds exactly like when I had campylobacter some years ago. I think I got mine from a Mongolian Wok restaurant - thinking about it ideal conditions: raw food out on display under bright lights, then cooked v quickly. It was in the run up to Xmas I went and the place was heaving so I bet the chef was trying to get through the queue asap.

I'm done with work for the week, hoorah! I'm finally getting a break from sewers and instead am looking at dealing with fatalities in the event of an explosion or similar. I get all the nice jobs!

RIAlityBites · 20/08/2009 23:40

sounds fab jammy I saw a job advert the other day for investigting fly-tipped waste. Oh what I couldn't do with an environmantal science degrre...

Have done my final TMA tonight and actually quite enjoyed it when I got into it, and am maybe slightly regretting cancelling my reserved place on the first science module

sounds nasty daisy, take care.

FrazzledFairyFay · 21/08/2009 10:18

Oooo Jammy, they give you all the good jobs .

Daisy, it sounds like you've got to the bottom of the problem. Hope you feel better soon, just think of the weight loss......

I have a child and DH-free weekend . Dh has taken them to Legoland today while I go to the wedding of a childhood family friend and then I'm staying 2 nights at a friend's with my 'NCT group' for a girls weekend

MakkaPakkasWilly · 21/08/2009 10:55

I am due to give birth today.

I am glad I am not, since he was 8.3lbs at 3 weeks early.

When do they start sleeping better? Meant to be 6 weeks isn't it?

I am bored and lonely.

LittleMissNorty · 21/08/2009 11:45

Are you driving again yet Fury? It was at about 3 weeks I started again. The 6 weeks is bollocks I think.

6 weeks sleeping better ....I'm still waiting 6 and a half months later!

Weekend sounds fab Fairy....have a lovely time.

Our day out has changed till tomorrow (think I might have overdone it yesterday

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 21/08/2009 12:19

Afternoon

Fury, sorry you're all fed up. And sorry but I wouldn't holding my breath for him to start sleeping better just yet!

And Norty, you take it easy young lady!

Ria, well done on finishing that final TMA - great feeling isn't it! You can always reapply for the next course soon

We went to Rhyme Time this morning. I wanted to walk with Jamlet instead of taking the push chair, so off we went, and she wanted to take Dolly in her pram, so I said yes. (A friend said it had really encouraged her DD to walk further). Big mistake on the way there!! She messed about so much and then refused to walk at all, so I ended up carrying her AND the pram a good half way . I'm afriad I did let her know I was cross (but only by being grumpy, I wasn't really mean or anything). But coming home it was great! She walked along nicely, showing Dolly the flowers and stuff. We did get wet when there was a sudden downpour, but even that was OK, we just had a dry off and some warm milk when we got home

MakkaPakkasWilly · 21/08/2009 12:58

Norty I called my insurance co who said I will not be insured til 6 weeks after the op, or on medical advice, so I called my GP who said 6 weeks

I live in london - not risking uninsured motoring!

LackaDAISYcal · 21/08/2009 13:55

that's a shame about the driving fury. My insurers said that as long as I was able to do an emergency stop confidently then I was OK and that for me was at 3.5 weeks. With DS1 I waited six wegeks, and when I asked the GP he said I could have been driving much sooner.

Can you get a seciond opinion from another GP?

I was feeling much better this morning, so I made some chicken broth and strained out all the solids so just the liquid. Then I had a shower and put some clothes on and was actually downstairs joinging in the conversation with the ILs......when I had to rush to the loo and never made it in time . Now the cramping stomach is back and I'm all sweaty and clammy again . I fucking hate this and just want it to stop.
