evening ladies, nice thread MM!
Just to make you all gasp, one of the mums at the pre-school had her lovely new baby this week, her DD2 is aprox 7 weeks older than J . I have never quite asked if DD2 was late August or early sept - cos she could well have 2 in the same school year now! her mother drops off and doesn't speak English so details are sketchy......
I cannot cannot imagine having a newborn now as well as 2 older kids, just the thought makes me panic!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2009 21:34

Oh, and I discovered the absolute best teether today. A corn on the cob! Well, a half one. Ds had an absolute ball with one today!

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2009 21:35

Pepper - one of my NCT ante-natal group from when I had dd had her second child 4 days before her first's first birthday, and her third child when her first was 26 months!

pepperrabbit · 23/07/2009 21:39

I do not know how people cope with those tiny gaps.. I've been on my knees with 3 under 4 1/2, now we've reached 3 under 5 it's not much better!

Pepper & CSWS . And I thought a 16 month gap was being brave....

Please could someone remind me when the Godstone meet up was supposed to be, I didn't write it down and now can't remember ? I can do 10.30 CSWS, and won't want to be staying too late either as it will supposedly take me 1 hour to get back and ds is decidedly not good at waiting for food.

We've had a great day here - out to feed the ducks and walk round Fleet pond this morning, then baking bread with dd and painting with both of them this afternoon. I've also finally got round to cleaning the dining room floor as it was revolting. Unfortunately the only time I get to do any housework, except loading the washing, seems to be after the kids are in bed. I must try and find some time in the day to manage stuff. How does anyone else manage????

ronshar · 23/07/2009 21:46

OMG. Shopping, lunch, meet up with October ladies. Heaven. Can I join you. Please.

RachieW · 23/07/2009 22:07

CSWS- I did post a while back to see if we could do 11am as a compromise but it probably got lost in my ramblings I'm not sure I'll make 10.30 with the greatest will in the world but can give it a good try. What do you think? Ekka glad you can come too, it's next Thurs which is the 30th.

Off to bed now. Night all.

Marthasmama · 23/07/2009 22:12

Pistachio - I only bfed ds for 7 months as he was an absolute nightmare for looking away. No matter what I did, he just wouldn't turn to face me. I wanted to carry on but it was too stressful. My mum was not very supportive when I was battling to get M time with me in hospital to bfed, she thought I was over-reacting. Oh well, it worked out anyway. Alas, my mum only bfed me and my brother for 5 months so she doesn't really get the idea of feeding them for longer. I was chatting to my old school friend's mum and she bfed her son until her was 4 and a half!

Pepper & CSWS - Bloody hell! That's amazing. I think my poor body would have fallen apart. Plus with no time to lose the weight in between babies I would have ended up the size of a small country.

Ronshar - Do you the visit to BW? Of course you're welcome! Though Brighton might be a better destination for shopping. I haven't been to Brighton for ages, I love the Sealife Centre!

Ekka - Manage? Um, we barely manage to get things done in our house. Strangely, when DH was away our house was spotless but ever since it has reverted it's usual chaotic sty-like state. It is more difficult now that M is on the move. She is very destructive!

OP posts:
ronshar · 23/07/2009 22:13

Ekka, I dont, my house is a pig sty. Although saying that I did do loads of ironing today.

CSWS, can babies decide to drop feeds on their own? W really doesnt seem interested in his bedtime feed. 4.30 in the morning no probs. 6.30 at night a right pain!!

Stop shopping you lot. Leave some stuff for the rest of us.

Jenwa love. Just because your hearing isnt 100% doesnt mean that you are not 100% good at your job. No one thinks you are stupid. You are beautiful. P will be fine, she just has to adapt to you being at work.

Pepper, I am on my knees most days and my eldest is 9 1/2. I can not imagine the misery of three under three

Pistchio, what do you do in the gym? Is it a class or just machines?

CantSleepWontSleep · 23/07/2009 22:35

Yes they can ronshar. In fact that's the ideal scenario . Unusual for them to drop the bedtime feed first though! You can have nights out again .

Another one living in a pigsty here, even (or because of ) with dh at home all the time! I blame having such a tempting computer big house .

I could perhaps be persuade to do Godstone then, and aim to meet Ekka around 10:30 (adding the 'traffic permitting' caveat after today), and then rachie at 11 and star when she can manage to drag her arse out of bed . Then I'll aim to leave around 2:30, which surely must be early enough to skip rush hours!

ronshar · 23/07/2009 22:53

Pistachio, I too do body pump but I have to add I am a weakling. I have been going for 5 months and I have just this week put my weights up to 4 1/2kg each side at its heaviest. Some ladies lift about 20kgs all together. Are you one of the hard core.

CSWS so if I stop trying to give that last feed is it likely to signal the end of my BF? I was hopeing to make it to at least a year

MM I havent been to BW for ages but I am happy to travel for shopping to meet you guys.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/07/2009 07:14

No ronshar - if he's still happy to have it in the mornings/other times of day then no reason why bf would end altogether.
If he starts to refuse lots of feeds then you might want to read some about nursing strikes and self weaning though, as they are much much more likely than actually self-weaning at this age.

CantSleepWontSleep · 24/07/2009 07:15

sorry, end of that sentence doesn't make sense now as I edited what I was linking!

Marthasmama · 24/07/2009 09:02

I am sooooooo bored! I'm not used to be in the house all day for this length of time. I want to go out. Especially as DH is going to Bluewater to get ds's birthday presents. He told me that if I come and then set myself back recovery wise he'll have no sympathy. Hrumph!

Hi, I've got you tube playing a baby for Poppy on one side of the screen and MN on the other because she's about to kick off so can't be long!

Doc put me on double dose sertraline, 100mg now, see how that goes. Hope it wont make my insomnia and daytime tiredness worse...

I am hurting EVERYWHERE from the Davina DVD the other day, but it's usual exercise aching so that's fine

Waiting for my new fridge freezer to get to the 24 hour mark so I can turn it on and get some goodies!! Do u know how long it takes to cool, the destructions don't say?

Poppy's kicking off, laters!

Knickers0nMaHead · 24/07/2009 09:19

is anyone expecting again then yet? I couldnt cope with a smaller gap than 14mo, i struggle now. Is anyone in the yorkshire area for a meet? Ds is still bf. He has cut down any feeds at all. Im starting to feel worn down by him feeding all the time but dont want to stop yet. Will try and start posting more on here. Its just hard replying to every post using my phone and dont want anyone thinking im being rude!

Knickers0nMaHead · 24/07/2009 09:22

he hasnt cut down feeds i meant.

RachieW · 24/07/2009 09:58

CSWS- Glad you are persuaded to come, it would be great to meet you. Shall we exchange mob numbers through fb as you will no doubt get there first

Ds is being so demanding today, continuing from yesterday. He wants me to hold him, then he wants to get down, then he wants me to pick him up again. My patience is wearing thin. I'm taking him to a toddler gym thing later, he's probably too young to access it but he needs a change of scenery. As do I!!

He's just gone to sleep so am rushing off to have a shower in peace..hopefully.

Toddler gym thing was a big hit. However J has now been asleep for over an hour and not had any lunch Bad timing on my part.

Having read Pistachio's posts about the gym I've eaten the rest of a box of chocolate fingers Oh well there's always tomorrow. Hope the fresh air worked Pistachio!

MM- Hope you aren't too bored... you are very quiet have you gone to BW after all?

Just to join the gang- I also got my period today. Am quite relieved as it explains why I have been very tearful and hopefully why my patience is so stretched. Don't have to worry that my baby is turning into a monster now, it's me, a PMT monster.

Oh well off to visit my Nan later as she is going on her hols tomorrow...that's if J ever wakes up?

Honeymoonmummy · 24/07/2009 14:29

Rachie I've not forgotten about the DVD, waiting for DH to do it!!

I'm having a low day today, I'm off to bed

Rachie - I'm still here but I've requested a piece of Leon chocolate brownie to make up for the lack of shopping.

Myjob - It is too far for you isn't it? Maybe we could do a Brighton meet up at some point. I love the seaside in the Autumn, plus the shopping in Brighton is good!

Awww Hmm - Have a sleep and hope you feel better later.
