Who are these rainbow babies??? I would like to get W out of green and brown. And cars or trucks.

ronshar · 06/08/2009 22:57

off to bed as we are going to London tomorrow. Doing the museums. Should be fun. Last time i went to london with DD2 in a pushchair she decided to wonder off in the Science museum. I was about to fall apart when she walked back from upstairs telling me that she had gone to wash her dolly's hands!!!!!WTF.

KIDS.

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/08/2009 23:06

can't do links on phone, but rainbowbabies.co.uk. Brilliant. But let me recommend you as a friend before you order, as you'll get 10% off first order.

Enjoy your day at the museum.

CantSleepWontSleep · 06/08/2009 23:11

do any of your babies have a 6th sense? I swear that ds just knows when I'm coming to bed and decides to wake up. I thought I'd got him off again but after 5 mins of quiet he's now started up again. Grr. Have had wine and need sleep. Maybe I should just get blotto one night and sleep through all his whinging .

Honeymoonmummy · 07/08/2009 00:33

CSWS, it wasn't forward-facing, we have rear-facing seat. Has anyone else bought FF yet and what did they get? I'm looking at the no. 1 recommended on Which, can't remember name off top of head but it's German and doesn't have a 5 point harness, just a pad thing that goes over their torso.

MM, I had a similar situation when a close work colleague said she'd come to my wedding do, then backed out cos a closer friend of hers was having her wedding do on the same day!! I didn't really get mad tho TBH, like CSWS says it is hard when you're torn between 2 groups of friends and I'm sure M will have a brilliant party whether she's there at all or for a short while or not. Be magnaminous .

Night all! x

CantSleepWontSleep · 07/08/2009 09:42

Oh yes hmm, just looked at pic again that I thought was ff and see now that it isn't - doh! We have Britax Duo Plus Isofix, and have been very happy with it (ds has inherited dd's old one).

Took an hour to get ds off to sleep last night - he must have still been bothered by cold, as we had to give in and give medised in the end.

Marthasmama · 07/08/2009 10:41

Damn you're a reasonable lot! Except you Ronshar, you fabulous woman!

Hmm - Part of reason I am so annoyed about it that I have known her for 3 years and she will have known the other woman for 9/10 months max. So you would have hoped that it would be the other way round. I was thinking of saying 'Don't worry if you have more important commitments. At least this puts our friendship into context.' Plus the party was going to be small, just four of them including M. I know it's ridiculous but I feel sorry for my baby girl. Can't remember what seat we went for but I know it's ISOFIX!

CSWS - M used to have a 'Mummy is lying down' alarm that would wake her every time my head hit the pillow.

Arghh...here she comes now. She won't leave the laptop alone....

Marthasmama · 07/08/2009 12:05

Right she is asleep.

CSWS - Cake sounds very yummy indeed. I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. MMmmmmmmm Do you know when Gap are going on-line in the UK? I have heard a rumour that it is this month but not sure.......

Pistachio - You don't not look chubby, you look lovely.

Oh bloody hell! I was trying to type with M asleep on my lap and she kept wiggling & nearly falling off. I wasn't concentrating.

Pistachio - You do not look chubby. I just looked at the link. They don't appear to be doing Baby Gap on ASOS.

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to say hello. I've been lurking in the background for a few days after getting my laptop fixed. Glad to see you all chat as much as ever and can still fill a thread so fast.

Seen a few comments suggesting that some of you are expecting again.. if you are congratulations!!

Glad to hear that all the little ones are growing so fast and getting into so much mischief.

Amelia is gorgeous but some days a badly behaved puppy would be easier to deal with.. it would still follow me everywhere drowling. Eat everything within reach and make a mess but it wouldn't fall over and hurt itself everyevery few mins. Can't put her in the baby walker for safety as her feet don't touch the ground (sigh) She's still in 3-6 months clothes and looks freakly small when she's trying to walk but at least that limits her climbing opportunities and she can't reach to pull stuff off shelves..

Off to read and catch up a bit more..

star6 · 07/08/2009 19:36

oh ajm, don't worry - Myjob's N is teeny tiny, too She's gorgeous as I'm sure Amelia is, too.

Pistachio you really do look cute in that dress. I'm actually of how you look in it as I look pregnant in it!!

star6 · 07/08/2009 19:41

oh gap online!! sweet! I can stay in the UK a bit longer, after all... I don't care if they don't have baby or kids clothes... as long as they have women's clothes and sales!

You'll be glad to hear that I was a good girl and decided to be nice to my friend. I re-read her message and I was being a bit harsh. Sooooo.... I changed the day from the Saturday to the Sunday and everything is sorted. Yay for diplomacy.

Sorry Myjob - I am the last person to ask. I have just spent an hour trying to get M to sleep. I have no idea what has got into her. Well, actually I do. Daddy normally comes in a plays when she won't settle and then takes her downstairs. I have laid down the law and said no more coming downstairs, no more playing. It hasn't worked so far.......

Star - I am planning on getting my sister-in-law to bring a load of clothes back from the States when she comes home in November. Plus I am going over to Michigan for New Year so I will probably leave half a suitcase empty...

I am on my new Mac Book tonight. It is taking some getting used to but it looks so pretty....

Just popping into say hi. Mum and Dad still here, it's really good to have them stay- lots of help with J and really nice to all spend time enjoying him. Took them to Leeds Castle yesterday (my second home it seems ) and then shopping in Bromley today. J has started clapping as well, much to my Mum's devotion to getting him to do it! He started yesterday but can now make a small sound too

HMM- Sorry to hear about your brother but try not to let it ruin your excitement about what will be a really special day and the day of course

for teething and colds too. I've a feeling ds might be getting his backteeth as there's been a lot of shoving his fingers right to the back and chewing them.

Are you from the Leeds area Rachie? I didn't realise. I was in Bolton yesterday

Marthasmama · 07/08/2009 22:29

Hmm - Leeds Castle is in Leeds village in Maidstone. Confusing eh?!

OP posts:
RachieW · 07/08/2009 22:31

Oh no HMM- it's the Kent Leeds Castle which is very misleading Are you near Leeds then? My brother used to live there, very good shopping!

ajm200 · 07/08/2009 22:46

Sorry to hear that some of you are having problems with teething and colds. Awful isn't it. Both of mine have colds.

My Brother turned up unannounced last week to see if we had a thermometer. Had a cold so mild that we didn't know he was ill until he told us he'd been onto NHS and was supposed to be quarantined checking his temp in case of swine flu. Turn out to be 'man flu'. DS has a nasty case of it, can't move, eat or drink without groaning unless he is offered cake or milkshake. God help whoever he marrys in 20 years or so

Amelia started playing hidey boo today. She covers one eye with her and stares intently with the other eye until we say hidey. When she moves her and away she laughs so hard that if she is sitting unsupported she falls over..

The leeds castle thing is confusing.. if it confuses us Brits, I feel sorry for tourists

Honeymoonmummy · 07/08/2009 23:11

Doh! I'm 1-1.5 hours from Leeds by car so not that close. I live in cheshire, but I was visiting a friend in Bolton yesterday.

Poppy's only just started to "get" peekaboo.

I'm off to bed anyway, night all!

Marthasmama · 07/08/2009 23:15

ajm - Ha! About the swine man flu! I had a cold the other week and I did think, hmmm.... better check the symptoms...

Hello AJM, good to see you back. Yipee for another tiny baby. A is in good company

MM you have taken the moral high ground, well done.

Myjob, sometimes you just have to give in and do the pick up and cuddle for 5 mins until they calm down. I hope you had a better rest of the night.

We had a great day yesterday. W loved the dinosaurs. Poor thing was a sleep got woken by the big T Rex and cryed the rest of the way round the exhibition. He did cheer up at the massive whale. The science museum was a hit. He loved the litle dance room where the light makes your shadow go all funny. We all made it back in one piece, even H!
