Pistachio- wow for 10 teeth. I know what you mean about the biting! J seems to bite out of frustration, like if I've moved him away from something again and again and sometimes when he is being cuddly he gives a little nip. I'm starting to worry that he has elements of Nick Cotton in him

MM- Your ds sounds so lovely, what a great day he's planned. I take it he's been a good boy recently and got his presents today?

CSWS- for the lack of birthday plans, unless there is a big surprise being planned. Hope that you do get to enjoy your day, maybe you'll get the gift of a lie in

Well I nearly burnt the house down today, well that's a bit dramatic but I was very stupid. Went upstairs to dress J forgetting that I was boiling an egg to take with us for his lunch. Anyway 20mins later can smell bburning so rush downstairs thinking the washing machine is dying and realise it's the pan which has boiled all the water away. Run over to take it off the gas with J in my arms (duuuuuhhhh) and the egg explodes. Thankfully we jumped back in time so weren't got by exploding egg. Felt very foolish afterwards and then had to do another egg for lunch. Took J to the soft play session which he loved, he got so excited about being bounced on a crash mat that he puked everywhere .

Marthasmama · 31/07/2009 16:05

for exploding egg Rachie! I boiled pasta dry a couple of months ago. I was playing with M in the front room and thought.....what's that smell...Oh God I was cooking pasta!!!!! It smelled like burnt hair. Yuck! Glad you didn't get hit with hot egg. Oh and I also boiled apricots dry when ds was a baby. It was so bad the bottom of the pan fell out! Oh dear for the sick too.

DS did tidy his playroom. He had been getting up in the morning and doing some tidying before coming in to see us in the morning. He did a really good job bless him. He is having a lovely day.

Hi all, I had a bit of spotting today (TMI sorry) so I'm doing a PG test in the morning (I had an implantation bleed last time).

I think I'll keep the results to myself and tell you if I'm pregnant at 12 weeks though [sadistic emoticon]

Don't hold your breath guys, it's extremely unlikely....

That discovery dome is cool, myjob.

Rachie - exploding egg sounds frightening! I did that with green beans a fw days ago. The water all boiled down and I was left with charred black beans instead. very smelly.

HMM you must tell us.

MM happy birthday to DS

Pistachio good you got some sleep and DH took DC out. Cry b/c of fed up with routine...etc.?

I can see how it would get very tedious... I think I'm so happy to have the 9 weeks at home in between working and the holidays... but I can see how if I didn't work (at this point) that I would yearn to get back to work at least part time. . I just love my job so much. When Q was really tiny, I really resented it, but now I feel ok (though a little sad, too) about returning to teaching after our summer holidays.

CantSleepWontSleep · 31/07/2009 20:33

Did I recommend the discovery dome myjob? Dd had one for her 1st birthday, and got lots of use out of it. Ds has it to play with now, but he has managed to break one of the plastic bars on it trying to pull himself up after dd had removed the top!

Not sure if I said already that we moved ds into his forward facing seat this week, but we did, as he was starting to get a bit squished and unhappy in the other one.

hmm - save yourself a test. If it's an implantation bleed then you will only just have started producing hcg, so won't have enough to test yet, and if it's not an implantation bleed then obv you won't get a result anyway. When is your period due?

Yay for Naomi's fab weight gain!

Eek for exploding egg. Dh made something explode when he got it out of the microwave last week. He had to climb up and clean it all off the ceiling!

Thanks for all the advance birthday wishes . Children didn't go to bed til 8pm tonight, so hoping for (though not expecting) a lie in tomorrow (anything after 7 is a lie in).

Honeymoonmummy · 31/07/2009 20:46

CSWS - on a 4 week basis it's due on Sunday. I had a positive result last time (albeit faint) before the implantation bleed. I bought a 2 pack so I'll give one a try tmrw and then I'll have a spare one. It could well be my period.

Have put new pics on FB. She looks really ginger in the photos! Not that there's anything wrong with ginger, but she's not in a normal light.

Marthasmama · 31/07/2009 20:47

Happy Birthday for tomorrow CSWS, just in case you're too busy having a lovely birthday to pop on here.

Myjob - Yay for N the eating machine! That's excellent news about her weight gain. Good girl. It's funny when you can feel that they've put on weight isn't it?

Pistachio - Is the studying helping to keep you sane at all? I hated being at home with ds, but I am finding being at home with M much more fun. I think if I had two I would lose the will to live though. I was a better mummy to ds once I was back at work and being me again. Are you planning to go back to work?

Hmm - I agree with CSWS. Wait until your period is due and if you're late then test. And tell us, on pain of death, tell us woman.

M has a taste of chocolate cake and wasn't that fussed. She preferred the bit of yellow chicken curry she swiped off my plate. Good girl. DS has had a lovely day, thanks for the birthday wishes. He is very sleepy now.

OP posts:
Honeymoonmummy · 31/07/2009 20:52

Oh no, tell a lie, I did the test after the bleed cos I thought it was my period at first and subsequently drank wine and ate blue cheese and went in a sauna while away on a job I was actually away from home in a hotel when I did my first test!! Went home and did another test the next day.

I've got one of the tests which tells you 6 days before a period and I don't normally get spotting between periods so i'm gonna give it a go anyway [stubborn emoticon]

This is probably a stupid question [again] but do any of your LO's have a vertical ridge down their forehead where it feels like the skull is sticking out just a bit??? I've only recently noticed it. Looked at photos of Poppy the other day and she's lost so much weight off her face I'm really worried that her slow head growth might be inhibiting her brain development [paranoid mum emoticon]

I'm off to watch the BB eviction now, laters!

RachieW · 31/07/2009 20:55

HMM- Good luck with the test....pleeeeease tell us Lovely pics of P on fb, she looks like she has similar colour hair to J. His also has ginger tinges in certain lights.

Pistachio- for you feeling so low and being bored. for an afternoon sleep though. I'm sure childless friends of mine think life with children is all rosey and nursery rhymey but in reality it's bloody hard isn't it. Is there any chance of you working again, part time maybe to do something for you? Glad exploding egg made you smile, when it happened J made an 'ooohhh' sound

Myjob- discovery dome looks lovely but I fear like CSWS mentioned with D that J would just end up destroying it somehow. Excellent weight gain for N too

Marthasmama · 31/07/2009 21:15

Hmm - Ok if you want to do the test but be warned I will find you and sit on you if you don't tell us. I'm sure P's head is absolutely fine, skulls are lumpy bumpy things. If you're worried mention it to the HV and get P's head measured. M is asleep so I can't poke her head at the moment. Is P's face looking more grown up already? Wow! M doesn't look quite so much like the Churchill Dog any more.

Rachie & Pistachio - DH found out just how hard it is to look after M and keep the house in some sort of order. While I have been unable to do household chores, M has been through pretty much all of her clothes. She has no PJs clean at all. It's a good job I feel loads better now so I can start sorting out the washing again!

OP posts:
RachieW · 31/07/2009 21:23

MM- Some things don't enter men's heads do they? It's like they think that the washing fairy does it all magically. When I am peed off with dh I have sadistic thoughts about not washing any of his boxers so he runs out and has none to wear to work. Then I would triumphantly say 'Yes seeeeee there is no washing fairy it's all me and as you never think to do it I've stopped as well'

jenwa · 31/07/2009 21:33

ah csws I hope you do have a nice day. Men dont seem as considerate as women I hope you get some cake otherwise we will bring you a slice when we meet at warwick castle with a hug big sparkler on it

pistachio poor ds with the tooth, P has none but plenty of stinky nappies that appear to go up her back

rachie I am hoping that less computer means better head, I will still pop on everyday but iwll limit my time sounds like things are better with DH and also that your MIL has put your thoughts before her decisions to take your DS out, agree though it will be nice to spend that time with your Dh and that it will be a well deserved break. Have a long sleep in and a nice brunch together Sorry also for your egg burning and and J being sick today! Def deserve a better day

hm your photos are fab, she is soooooooooooooooooooooooo cute none of you though! at you keeping your ??pregnancy secret!!! We want to know I hope its what you want though

mm hope your ds had a fab birthday and liked his cake. I bet your glad M was not so interested in the cake

myjob I will stay around just wont log on all the time as my head starts pounding but not sure it is computer eyes so just need to eliminate stuff really! Glad N is doing well with the weight and love the pressie too although I saw a fold up tent for £5 in the works shop which I suppose you could fill with toys and would be cheaper but I do like te idea of that one, I just know that dd1 would want to be in it more that dd2 and also dd2 seems to want to move far too much to sit still in anything, unless off course you can zip them in it
oh and hm poppy looks fine on the pics, I am sure she is fine, she looks adorable.

Parents been round today and cleaned my garden up and got us sausage and chips for tea. was a nic day and did me good and been really nice out in the garden all day! Must do it more really.

Jenwa - Have I missed something? Have your headaches ben caused by using the computer too much? If so, me too. I've been getting headaches and I am convinced it's because I have been on here all the time while I've been recovering. When M first has a bit of the cake she did say 'mmmmmmm' and did an bit of a dance, but then she threw it on the floor.

OP posts:
CantSleepWontSleep · 31/07/2009 21:41

Well good luck then hmm, and I look forward to hearing the result about 5 minutes after you test please!

Lovely pics hmm and rachie. I see that ds isn't the only one in a forward facing seat. that there are none of you though hmm. You are prob like me and nearly always behind the camera instead.

jenwa · 31/07/2009 21:44

hehe, not sure it really is from the computer mm but dr said it may be my eyes, I am not wearing glasses too! I also said in a very stupid way that I dont really use my eyes I meant in the way I was not at work much and did not use the moputer much or read much etc but actually I do use the computer loads at home so not think maybe it could be a reason...still not wanting glasses though and still feel silly for saying I did not use my eyes much....doh. (I knew what I meant!!!)

I am sure M will make up for her chocolate addiction when she becomes a teenager although DD1 alreay has it at 3

Marthasmama · 31/07/2009 21:50

Jenwa - I've just started to use my glasses for 'working' on the laptop and it is helping me. But then I know that using the laptop makes my eyes ache. I apparently have a lazy eye which means they don't focus together very well.

CSWS - I think there is ONE of hmm there. It's not labelled but I think it's her. Am I right? It has DH's foot in it, which is labelled. I try not to be in pictures as I am way to hideous to be viewed by the general public so it helps my cause that I am the only one who can work the camera.
