Jenwa - how disturbing, that would really freak me out x

Ekka - it wasn't me.

So good to hear there are other people on this thread with boat-sized feet, I am also a 9. I'm not telling you my clothes size

I went to aerobics today, went to an over-50's class on the advice of my aerobics instructor . It was really good to be doing a class again but I'm already starting to ache a lot in my upper back and knees. See how crippled I am tomorrow.

MM I did see a dress in M & S but not in my size and I've gone off it a bit now. I'm gonna try Debenhams tomorrow.

jenwa · 29/07/2009 08:29

Morning all
Dropped kids at in laws and off to drs this am to sort headaches!
Have deleted loads of pics on fb and all on here as now freaked out by pervy men! It has really freaked me someone taking pics and being followed so I just want to protect the girls now. I will put more on FB and have lots of groups (MN too ) so will put more on again but just want to reduce any risks at the mo. I am not saying it is any of you lot but scared someone may access my accounts etc and need to keep them safe iuswim?
mm Will def be in touch with police if anything happens, feel as if I am checking over my shoulder all the time now

hm hope you are feeling ok after your class!

csws no I never walked all the way home, we went in to the shop were there were lots of people and he must have turned back or legged it as he completely vanished!

aubergenie · 29/07/2009 08:46

Ugh horrible Jenwa. That kind of thing makes you feel really uneasy doesn't it.
Good luck at the doctors.

Ekka - It was me who linked that thing. We have a children's centre near us that does heuristic play and sessions with treasure baskets.

Myjob - I was so grumpy and tired last night that I was thinking that I didn't even want to go on holiday - it all seemed like too much effort, but I feel a bit better after some sleep and I'm sure it'll be lovely once we actually get there. We may have to chase the sun though, as the forecast in Normandy, where we're starting off, is rubbish!

jenwa · 29/07/2009 10:20

Oh dear! I feel a bit silly I went to the drs and then balled my eyes out went in to detail about everything, work, hearing, houswork, stress, scared my children dont love me, scared that other people may think I dont look after them well and lack of confidence in me and my hearing and excluding myself from situations blah blah blah blah and now I am in the anti depression club too I think its been building up and I have lived in my little bubble whilst on maternity leave and now that I have gone back to work it has scared me and I have got myself all worked up and stupidly upset and panicking about losing my hearing all together and never being able to hear the children again and so on. I need to arrange to go speak to someone about it and take tablets for a month to see if they can perk me up and get me feeling happier!
Going to sit on the sofa and watch some crap telly whilst in laws have dds for me for a little while although can see me fiding something to clean somewhere! My trousers are soaked too as I walked to the drs and I have not yet taken them off and cant be bothered at the moment either.

ronshar · 29/07/2009 11:15

Oh Jenwa. Life is throwing it all at you at the moment. Take one day at a time and dont expect everything to be perfect straight away. It does sound like every thing has built up and your pervy man yesterday has been the catatlyst for you to let it all go. Do you think it is a control issue. Not that I am saying you are controlling but some times when things go wrong which we have no control over it can have a massively negative effect.
I am making HMM brownies as we speak, I shall send you some.

Hmm ooo how exciting. How long has it been since you had your little incident. Longer than 14 days and you can test. It should tell you!

MM stop shopping. NOW.

Hello to everyone. I have read through but far too much to remember and comment on. Myjob nice dress

I may make the trip to Bluewater next week. DD1 has swimming lessons early every day so could head out about 10ish. Should get there for about 11.30ish. I shall let you know when I make a decision. Either that or day out in London.

Off to Dublin tomorrow with W & lots of my family. Leaving the girls with DH. That should be funny to watch..

Bethoo's partner is a git. I second you MM.

Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 11:26

Jenwa - Don't feel silly for goodness sake! Ronshar is right (as always ). You have been dealing with a lot, especially your concerns about your hearing. Take some time for yourself, easier said than done, but very important. Get DH to pay for a spa afternoon or something. That would be a lovely relaxing treat.

Ronshar - They'll have DH wrapped round their little fingers and get away with murder. He'll have an easy time because he won't bother arguing about anything and will just let them do/have whatever they want. No proper parenting will go on....

Hmm - Test test test test test test test!!! If it's time that is.....!

Aubergenie - You'll still have a lovely time even if the weather is rubbish. Are you finishing in the South? It's bound to be good weather in the South of France in August.

OP posts:
ronshar · 29/07/2009 11:32

Dont count on it MM. We spend every summer holiday in South of France as MIL lives there. We have tried every week in August. Always bloody rains. We are off there on 20th of Aug. Trying end of the month this time.
Sorry Aubergenie.
MM you are right. The house will be a pigsty, more than normal, pizza for tea & television on constantly!!!

CSWS have you thought about getting you table reshaped to fit in to other room?? A carpenter could do it no probs!
Need more eggs. So off to the shop. Pesky lasdt week at nursery. I refuse to buy sweets so DD2 has insisted I make cakes!! Doesnt she realise the muck I serve to my owe family is one thing, but giving it to young children is a whole different thing

jenwa · 29/07/2009 11:50

ronshar haha, controlling, yes I probably am! I think it was all before this bloke yesterday though, my friend noticed a big change in me to be honest and I think that man freaked me out too. I have blubbered on afew people recently so it has been building up. lol re you making cakes, I am sure they will be lovely, is it brownies you are doing for them?
Have a lovely trip to Dublin and lol at your dh with the girls, go enjoy yourself.

mm will suggest spa day to my dh

Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 11:55

I've got to make a birthday cake tomorrow with the aid of my mum because it's DS's birthday on Friday. He has requested a home made cake rather than a hideously highly coloured shop cake. I am amazed as he normally loves that yucky icing.

OP posts:
ronshar · 29/07/2009 11:57

Oh no Jenwa the brownies are all mine.

Sorry, had to post quickly as M was on her way over to help me type!

M has learned to climb stairs too now. She was also doing some excellent standing up dancing and I am sure she shouted NO at ds when he picked her up to move her away from his drawings. I think the future is going to hold lots of screams of NO as they two of them fight.

OP posts:
ronshar · 29/07/2009 12:43

I forgot to say Pistachio. Do you wear gloves as well for pump. I am in awe of your lifting prowess. I ducked out last night because I am far too lazy busy.

MM welcome to my world. You would think that at 9 & very nearly 5 that the girls would get on better. Oh no. First words DD1 muttered this morning were "DD2 you are so annoying"!! W has already been shut out of their bedroom. He just sits there looking really hurt. Poor boy. He knows nothing yet of all the ways women will hurt him.
W has got 7 teeth all making an appearence along his top gum! No wonder he has been a bit grumpy miserable.

Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 12:51

Funnily enough Ronshar, I was thinking with such a big age gap surely they can't fight, but I think the age gap between my two is similar to the gap between your dds. Oh well! Poor W, still no teeth here..... He's probably best off away from those girls. They're bound to want to dress him up in something emotionally scarring hideous.

OP posts:
ronshar · 29/07/2009 12:55

Dont get me started. I picked DD2 up from gym yesterday. I hadnt even pulled out of the car park when they started. I mean how do you deal with that. It can be anything from she looked at me, she took my blanket, she is standing on my step, she has moved my book!!
Soul destroying.

Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 13:00

Hoooray! DS does a good job of destroying my soul on his own to be honest!

Pistachio - yes, have been v pleased with quality of rb stuff. It all says do not tumble dry, but it's 100% cotton so I prob will before long! He will be multicoloured most days once I start putting him in it full time (some is still on order, and the trousers in age 1-2 are a little long at the moment, so whilst he's got other stuff too I am using that rather than have to turn them up all the time). If I recommend you as a friend then you'll be sent a code to get 10% off your first order, so let me do that now .

ah myjob poor you you have every reason to feel like you do and you are no doubt shattered. YOur children are having distrubed sleep making them shattered so you are prob all getting grumpy at each other and with the holidays it is hard to enteratin kids all the time especially in the rain YOu are not making a shambles though, you have two lovely children and I bet your ds is not naughty all the time, if he is anything like dd1 it is sometimes and they seem to overide the good times and when youare tired it is harder to tolerate bad behaviour and we just except good behaviour without always praising it as we know they are happy and quiet. Its a shame you are not nearer or dont have a car to get out and about a bit more. Nice you had a friend over today though and got out for abit, that always helps.
I am thinking too that dd1 and dd2 will have a fighty hating each other stage, it is already happening, we get dd1 now saying "P is taking my toys" or "P is coming over to me" or "p is touching my things" so I can see it only getting worse with dd2 answering back ronshar give us some handy tips on what to do...or do you leave them in the car
oh and yes please to a brownie

Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 13:41

I can't believe she's going to be one in 7 and a half weeks! They really are growing so fast aren't they? Does ds actually watch a film when it's on or is it just background? If he actually watches (like my ds who is a real film fan) then I'd let him. It will give you a bit of a time out and he will be able to rest which is what he needs. It certainly won't hurt for him to have some chilling out time if he's had disturbed sleep. You need some time out, stick a film on, make yourself a cup of tea and put your feet up. If N will let you that is......

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 13:44

Jenwa - My response to ds when he moans about M touching his stuff is 'Tough'! I point out that M is much younger than him and so doesn't understand and also that if he doesn't want her to destroy touch his things then he should put them away when he's finished. Might be a bit harder to explain to a younger child though.

OP posts:
Marthasmama · 29/07/2009 13:45

Oh and M already makes her feelings known when ds removes things from her!

Jenwa, sorry to hear life has been getting on top of you recently and how awful about that strange man....

CSWS, I'd love a referral to rainbowbabies as I've been wanting to buy stuff from there for ages, but waiting till M was somewhere near the 12-24 month range.

So, is the Godstone Farm meet-up still on tomorrow? I checked the weather again and they now say it might be rather nice . I'm up for it, worst case scenario we spend a lot of time in the indoor area! We will have to see how long we can stay as M is horrendously itchy at the moment and prone to going into huge hysterical screaming fits over that (and possibly his teeth?!?!) - he didn't have any lunch today as he screamed for over an hour then fell asleep exhausted poor chap.

Got to dash out to the supermarket as I've realised that I have to make some packed lunches for tomorrow and Friday and have nothing really suitable, I'm so disorganised..... At least it will fill in the time till bedtime - another one counting down till 8pm here!
