rachie just realised I had not added you as a mumsnet friend on my FB list. Sorry really restrict lots of pics and have a MN list so I can show you lot
Should be sorted now!

Marthasmama · 27/07/2009 22:36

I'm not a man hater really. I just realised that I must come across as such a militant feminist on occasion!

Yes saw that for bethoo I hope he come back for her. What an arse!

rachie lol re your shopping trip!

Marthasmama · 27/07/2009 22:39

I think Bethoo is mainly on her antenatal group these days.

Honeymoonmummy · 27/07/2009 23:13

Oh poor Bethoo. I hope they work things out.

I still can't get over Size Eight-gate. Even my feet are bigger than size 8.

I still need to get an outfit for the christening, it's 2 weeks yesterday eek!

Marthasmama · 27/07/2009 23:35

I thought you'd got something from M&S Hmm!

KSal · 28/07/2009 08:38

I thought i'd just come and state for the record that I am a 16 just in case it would make anyone else feel any better!! Rachie, i have size 9 feet

just back from holiday which was knackering. Emma has started crawling... if anyone had told me it would come with a personality transplant i wouldn't have been so keen for her to do it. She has started screaming each time she is sat down (because she still wants to be walked around) and she basically doesn't like me any more. I am dreading picking her up from nursery tonight because the last few times i have picked her up she has screamed and reached for her dad... which is frankly very upsetting. I hope to god it is a very short phase because i'm not coping with it very well.

good to hear you are recovering well MM. Not sure i'm going to be able to catch up generally, though!!

Marthasmama · 28/07/2009 09:40

KSal - They know just how to torture us don't they? M's personality has changed since she has been on the move. She no longer tolerates any cuddling as she wants to be put down all the time so she can go exploring. She throws mini wobblers all the time when she can't do exactly what she wants and doesn't seem too keen on mummy any more either. She only wants to be with me when she wants milk otherwise I can f off as far as she is concerned. I have been sitting on the floor playing with her but she screams for her daddy so I just back off. It is a phase. Is Emma your first? When ds was little he would scream like he had been burned every time dh touched him. He hated and I mean really really hated dh when he was little. Emma does love you, she is just being a cheeky monkey. She doesn't know she's upsetting you, it will pass, although I agree it is heartbreaking when it happens. Stay in touch if you can, we're happy to listen to you is you're feeling down. ((((((hugs))))))

I meant 'if' not is. I seem to have a problem with 'if' at the moment! at self.

KSal · 28/07/2009 09:49

God thankyou MM, you really know to say the right thing and its really comforting to know its not unusual. Its really hard not to feel like i have done something to make it happen, even though DH has been very sweet and keeps telling me not to take it personally.

sounds like M is being quite similar to Emma in some ways actually, with the mini wobblers and wanting to be off exploring all the time. Its really thrown me as it happened so suddenly!

Yes she's my first... i should have known that she would change... and she will change again!

Marthasmama · 28/07/2009 10:18

Any time KSal. Even when you know it's a phase and you know it will change it still hurts when they want someone else. It's only natural that you would feel sad. You're the one who does everything for her, you carried her, you're probably the one who comes running every time she cries and still....... M has changed over night too. She was my cuddly, clingy little velcro baby. She wanted to sit with me at all times now she wants to be off adventuring! Or having a cuddle with Daddy. Enjoy the time you have to yourself. If she wants Daddy all the time then you get to put your feet up without a baby hanging off you!

That's not too bad Myjob. I'm only 7 cms taller than you at 5ft3. I am about a size 1,000,000 and my feet are a size 3 too. I have enormous, gigantic norks (34K) so how I manage to stay up-right with such tiny feet I'll never know.

My Mini Boden order has just arrived. The stuff for M is sooooooo gorgeous! The bits for DS are nice too but things for a 6 year old boy are never going to be as exciting as things for a tiny little girl. DS asked why I never buy anything for myself, bless him.

Myjob - Size 8 is fabulous! I meant that the height thing wasn't too bad nor the foot size! Size 8 does = !!! I didn't explain myself very well. And yes, small feet in super high heels are very painful, which is why I wear platforms as they are less difficult to wear. I love my tiny feet but getting shoes is a real pain, especially as mine are sometimes a size 2.

A very quick hello. Summer holiday fun fun fun in this house. Be back later.

Ekka · 28/07/2009 12:14

All this talk of sizes is depressing me, you're all so tiny - I need to lose 2 stone, but all that happens is I seem to lose a couple of pounds then put it straight back on again . I suppose that dairy & egg-free cakes/biscuits recipe book may not really have been the best thing to buy

KSal, dd was a real daddy's girl from about 3 months old until really recently. She has now done a total about-face and only wants mummy . Unfortunately M is also a mummy's boy, so dh is feeling a bit left out (& I'm rather smothered with attention). It does sometimes feel rather hard though, whichever side you are on!

Who was it who linked this heuristic play thing ages ago? Was it you HMM? I just got around to making one up for Matthew, he loves it but is currently sitting hitting himself over the head with my carefully selected wooden spoon and ceramic bowl

I've had a great last few days with loads of energy and been doing lots with the kids, but I'm now suffering burn-out. We sat on the sofa this morning watching tv and finally I dragged myself out to the park at dd's request. I'm shattered as M is really itchy at the moment and has gone back to waking 2-3 times a night, aaaaargh! Thank goodness we've been invited round to some friends this afternoon.....

Mine too Myjob! I have wide feet. I measured them properly when I used to work at a shoe shop and they were something like a 2H. I mostly wear Converse baseball boots or my crocks.

Hello,

Sorry I've not been on much, I've been trying to get the house a bit livable I'm still up and down like a yoyo but things are a little better. It wasn't helped by having my first period last week, I thought the implant had stopped them

DD is crawling everywhere and into everything. Not that long ago she was my sweet little angel but now she is crazy, all she seems to do is search out things she can't have and destroy everything she can get her hands on. She is also refusing to sleep during the day. She has been in her cot for the last 1/2 hour and is still awake, I can hear her chatting and jumping I won't get her out though until she starts crying.

DS is being so demanding it's unreal, I feel like he has superglued himself to me as everytime I turn round he is there.

I need to start thinking about DD and DS's birthday, being so close there is no doubt they will be having a joint one lol. I need to decide soon though as my 2 are in the middle of my nephews and my SIL will plan something for then Even though all four grandchildren are within 10 days my SIL doesn't want them to ever have joint partys.

My feet were size 7 by the time I was 11 I'm very of those with tiny feet. I'm 5ft7 and a size 12, size 8 makes me look ill.

I'm glad your recovery is going well MM.
