Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Moose - glad ds is no worse poor little man.

Am too still in shock at hairstraightening before school run. Its mascara at traffic lights for me!

moosemama · 15/07/2009 12:56

Tree dd always used to have a good hour and a half nap after falling asleep on the school run, half an hour at lunch time and another hour in the afternoon. Now she seems to have 20 minute cat naps and wants entertaining the rest of the time in between. I am getting literally nothing done.

She has just totally confuddled myself and ds1 as well. I put her down on her playmat in the living room and sat on the sofa to do some mnetting the food shop. Looked up and she was on the other side of the room. Ds1 was watching tv and didn't see how she did it and I was gossiping concentrating on the computer so I didn't see either, but she looked incredibly proud of herself. I'm thinking she used a combination of commando crawling (which she is getting scarily good at) and rolling to get there, but she has been up on her knees and hands a few times now. Nah! I'd've noticed her crawling, wouldn't I? Surely?

Oh no, mobile baby, already! My quiet life is over, baby chasing here I come.

treedelivery · 15/07/2009 13:01

Oh good grief baby chasing. Arrrgh!

Happily dd1 didn't crawl till 10 months or something. So have a little while yet.....maybe........

moosemama · 15/07/2009 13:01

Mascara!? I only wear that on special occasions! Strictly damage limitation make-up only here (concealer, tinted moisturiser and poly line filler! )

moosemama · 15/07/2009 13:04

Ds1 walked at 10 months and never looked back - but he was a good boy and didn't get into everything. (Although we had a brand new house with minimalist furniture, wooden floors and no ornaments at the time, which did help.)

Dd is far more cheeky and mischevious. I think we could be in for trouble here.

moosemama · 15/07/2009 13:07

By the way, Mum is going to buy some Udo's for dd and the childrens version for the boys tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation.

Right I really must go and make some lunch for my poorly boy.

Back soon.

(I'm quite enjoying him being on the sofa as he wants me to sit with him, but is watching tv, meaning I have freedom to roam th'tinternet.)

Udo's Choice probiotics for dd's stinky windy bum!

tinkisback · 15/07/2009 15:39

hi

going to go to gum clinic open later to hopefully sort out problem

treedelivery · 15/07/2009 15:43

Poor you tink

Hope they can help. Not what you need at all!

tinkisback · 15/07/2009 15:48

should i go to gum or get dh to buy thrush treatments

had implant fitted beginning of march
then had constant peiods for 3mnths then started pill a mnth ago which stopped bleeding now have this

treedelivery · 15/07/2009 15:52

Well, if you know thrush and have had it before, then some cannestan might save you the bother - but then GUM will be able to make sure of what it is and the treatment will be free which is always nice!

SparkleandShine · 15/07/2009 16:17

tree - J has 45 mins at about 9am and 2 hours at about 12pm. I'd say he manages the 45 mins every day and the 2 hours 4 or 5 days a week.

PS candidate good - I think he's hired!

we have an immanent crawler

PatTheHammer · 15/07/2009 16:40

Zach is crawling, not very fast or very far, but it is very disconcerting. Whats worse is I got home today and MIL and FIL have been encouraging him and trying to make hime go further.........noooooooooooooo!

oh no tink, hope the ladybits better soon.

dog I am the same without hair straighteners. When I had waterbirth with DS I tried not to het my hair wet as no straighteners allowed in hospital .

e back soon....

tink, if you don't know it's thrush, might be better to go to the clinic. no point in having lady bits bother for any longer than you have to...

we are still miles from crawling here, i'd say - c makes like a beached swimmer when on her tum and starts howling with frustration almost immediately. haven't even really got the hang of rolling, she can but doesn't seem to want to. getting quite stable with sitting and very keen to stand up whenever assistance is offered. am in no rush for her gross motor functions to take over my life, so all good

best go and do some baby feeding.

moosemama · 15/07/2009 18:04

Pants! Ds1 has probable Swine Flu. Temp 39.35 and going up despite ice pops and calpol! 15 min wait in call queue for gps, then telephone triage and he's been prescribed tamiflu.

He doesn't seem too bad in himself considering, a bit tearful. But think he's on the down slide at the moment so could be in for a long night.

We haven't told him, we just said its a virus as they've scared the life out of him about SF at school.

Am so worried about ds2 and dd getting it now though. I have put bottles of hand gel all over the house, have set up some milton solution for his calpol spoons and thermometer and given him his own personal bottle of hand gel. We have all the windows open and I am just about to use Milton spray on all the door handles.

Thanks dog feeling all panicky and need to calm down about it, its out of my hands pretty much now anyway, all I can do is maintain the hygiene aspect and look after ds1. I have a headache and really sore throat. At least dd will get some immunity from my bm if I get it first though.

Shit moose Hope ds1 better soon. I am feeling really unwell today and wonder if they diagnosed Dd's ear infection wrongly?? If so then she seems over the worse. Zach has runny nose but no temp so guessing it was just a cold.

Hope DS2 and DD stay fine. I think the hygiene measures may help but isn't it airbourne too? Thoughts are with you guys.

sparkle yay for finding a candidate!

tree before I went back to work Zach was having about 1hour in morning and hour and half in afternoon. Since left with MIL he is having about 3 half hour naps in day, mainly in car . Think it is having knock on effect with night-time sleeping so hoping to get him back into the swing of things in holidays.....only 1 day of work left....woo-hoo!

Today I helped out with book-making, where the y7,8,9 kids were writing, illustrating and producing their own little books aimed at a specific Y2 child. It was ok, bit boring at times as the kids just got on with it, but I did meet a nice children's author and illustrator. Hannah Shaw who has written 'Evil Weasel' and 'Errol' came in to talk to them. Her picture books are fab and she was really nice. Probably going to have a shopping accident on amazon later

Had to cancel swimming as I feel so rough, early night on the cards I reckon.

stripeywoollenhat · 15/07/2009 19:34

moose, i have fingers crossed that its path through your house will be swift and mild and that ds2 and dd don't get it. hygiene measures will hopefully contain it. take it as easy as you can.

napping here is 45 mins at 9am (ish), anything from half an hour to two hours at lunchtime and twenty minutes in the late afternoon. never been much of a one for routines myself (unless spending half your life on mumsnet/watching bad tv counts as a routine) but it would be really helpful if she would be more predictable with the later naps. am going to try to get some of the bird's nest overgrown mop of hair i've been growing cut off on friday and am leaving c with totally amateur sister, wish i could tell her to put her down for a nap at x time. but no. poor amateur sister will have to guess.

howling from the baby monitor. off i go again.

kittypink · 15/07/2009 19:47

Hi ladies!

oh moose I hope ds1 gets better soon. will be sending healing vibes.

tree DD has a 3 naps a day usually. all of 30 mins' apart from uber nap days where she sleeps for up to 1.5 hours. We have her napping in her cot now which is great as we can either do stuff of lie down and rest.

We put DD in her door bouncer, its great! She loves it! We kept her awake before bedtime in it for an extra half an hour. She wanted to go to bed early again but perked right up bouncing away!

dog I have just had fab new hair cut which does unfortunately mean extra styling. Looks great though so everyone will just have to wait for me!
