AnnVan · 09/07/2009 20:13

oh and Oops - I did remind him of our bargain last night. If I do so now, it will just reignite the argument.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 20:14

cc & ann very for you're experiences with horses, I am not suprised you are both scared of them.
I agree with ts a bit of healthy fear and respect goes well with them. Very unpredictable no matter how 'bomb proof'
cc the anky coat was for me

I managed to sneak off again yesterday for a few hours riding [bliss]

sazzles hope you have a lovely time.

dizzy you sound very busy, hope you are back soon.

lentil that meet up sounds just wonderful, sadly I didn't get to chat to vg and other's for very long, but you're description is just perfect.
miamla sounds like you are doing great with T.
sambo I recently bought a maclaren, don't like it at all, but it's only for occasional use. I don't really get on with umbrella strollers tbh. Just not for me.
I got my Kolcraft contours double and so far is great, Not selling my coach built silvercross yet though, but will no doubt be buying another single soon.
albs Hie [waves]
oops shame about sand/pool arriving in this weather, fingers crossed it will pick up.
pertelote hi, I agree re 'mousey' hair tis nice.
ts I hope that is a sign of things progressing with you'ree brother.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 20:22

Did I kill the thread this time with my constant drivel and pram talk

Miamla · 09/07/2009 20:26

hi no1 i'm here but i'm not here if you see what i mean! i'm actually cooking dinner and entertaining a friend of DP's...and this is despite them both coming upstairs with DP declaring "ooh, have you met our son before" just as DS was closing his eyes aRGGHHH hey ho, he's back to sleep now

OP posts:
sambo303 · 09/07/2009 20:34

evening all

miamla thanks for the offer, what is good about the luna?

albs its grey, has crushed my fingers when reclining seat on many occasions, jolts ds over every bump, horrible grey colour, tiny inaccessible shopping basket and did I mention it's a horrible grey colour?

no1 I'm not selling my silver cross either despite dp's hints, well more like" when are you getting rid of that hulking great pram, there's no room for it"
well done for getting a bit of riding in

ann mm eton mess. Hope Seb is a bit happier now?? Felix has been morose today (spent about 4 hours in the hideous maclaren due to major shopping spree which did not improve his mood) teeth I think

bought a load of work clothes from New Look today to cheer myself up re crap back to work interview. Even if I am at work 5 days per week, I will look good on each and every day! I've gone for natty smart jacket, casual linen type trousers and t shirts with cartoon characters on them for a subversive twist. No more suits. would converse plimsols look too dr who? blethering now

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 20:45

ooh love my converse
My silvercross has to live in the garage.
My first one which I had for dd nice and new lived in the Kitchen

alittlebitshy · 09/07/2009 20:53

no sambo i don't think you mentioned that it is gray . liking the sound of your new clothes. i have loved your style when i've seen you on meetups!

no1 i love abit of pram talk!!!!!!

sambo303 · 09/07/2009 20:55

just ordered some reins as ds has been wobbling rather dangerously around in the pram and trying to launch himself out.

do you know the baby jogger city? tried that out today and thought it was quite good oh oh, pram bore alert

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:00

I looked at one of them the other day, they are very very light. I think they are rated highly on the pram chat thread.

LoveBuckets · 09/07/2009 21:01

Sambo LOL at greyness of Mclaren. Tis true, they completely lack style but I still love the 2 I've had. And I don't give a toss how comfortable the ride is for the baby, it's all about having handles tall enough for me me me. And there's nothing wrong with dressing like Dr Who (although the new one will probably be all skull t-shirts and Emo gear.)

Hey Lentil and VG, sorry to be lazy but was it the Horrid Henry author doing the reading in bantry? My mum knows her, got her to sign a copy of the last book for my nephew as HH is the only fiction he likes. And VG thanks for recommending The London Eye Mystery, am finally reading it now, will pass it on to said nephew as he might actually enjoy it.

MIamla You're doing really well with the milk/cuddle ban, he'll give up trying soon I'm sure.

Ann You are a saint, I would have had the Calpol out by 1.10!! But you should really leave him a note each time listing all the different names he calls you, he probably either forgets or assumes you've moved on straightaway like he has, men don't realise how much we stew, do they?

Kurt: 25lb-ish, pulls himself up but not walking, crawls upstairs, says Daddy, Dyra (Lyra), Duh (Noah) and Boof (fave game of 'boofing' his face on the lampshade tassle,) Sleeps 6.45 til 5, 6 or 7am, generally sweetness and light but getting annoying now with compulsion to throw books and dvd's from shelf over his shoulder. Loves to watch me do 'ballet' and I've just discovered a mum&toddler dance club locally that we'll be joining as soon as he's walking.

Got friend and her LO coming for a sleepover tomorrow to watch Captain Corelli on dvd.
I am planning a fabulous baked sandwich where you slice a loaf widthways, layer in pesto, halloumi, roasted peppers, roast beetroot, hoummous, cheddar and probably some ham to humour DH. Wrap in foil, bake, cool, wrap it tight and chill, then slice. Hungry?

Ooh ooh Torchwood, bugger, I've left a bath full of hot water waiting, was supposed to have a bath & hairwash.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:03

me too albs I love the look of the Luna and am quite liking the look of the Hauk INfinty, however when ds was born my first double was the First wheels city twin, and the 2 small wheels at the front were awful for walking about streets. I had to turn the pram around to get up the kerb. Great for Meadow Hall shopping centre though.
Had to get rid.
The Hauck has the same wheels.

LoveBuckets · 09/07/2009 21:04

Still don't get prams. Seriously has nobody ever gone down a steep kerb and worried the baby was going to fly out? The kerbs in our street are 6" high! (And our hill is like doing the 5 peaks)

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:05

Oh buckets That sandwhich sounds devine

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:07

Yes I have had that feeling a few times about the fear of falling out. I am sure *sambo8 will agree that the silvercross coachbuilt pram is the best. High up facing us,safe and happy

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:08

sandwich
I do want that...like right now.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:10

I am trying to find somewhere to go on holiday with dsis and all dc's begining of August. Looking at Northumberland. Don't know why, I have never been.
We were supposed to be going to Devon, but I am not sure I wnat to drive 4 and a half hour's with my two.

sambo303 · 09/07/2009 21:16

no1 I went to Northumberland the last holiday before ttc. It was full of old people shuffling around castles wearing macs. Bit depressing. Could not get a decent cup of coffee for love nor money and the chocolate cake was made with camp coffee to turn it brown (no chocolate). Beaches were impressive though in the force 10 gale with added hail.

Highpoint? A pub serving hot bovril and chips fried in lard

dizzydixies · 09/07/2009 21:18

evening all, am managing somehow to jack up the laptop so give me a moment to try to catch up

sambo303 · 09/07/2009 21:20

buckets I've made a note of that sandwich. Did you enjoy the book captain corelli? I loved it til about 2/3rds through when I felt it crashed and burned.

I am impressed with all these speaking babies. Felix doesnt say anything yet - he does this caveman grunt which I think covers most things. Last week he started displaying little fits of temper - most disconcerting. He gets cross with me now

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:31

sambo shall give that one a miss then, sounds dire.
Ds update
Trying to walk more. Says mama, dada, nanan (random word) Boo, Hi,hiya. waves, claps, does the round a garden thing with finger on palm.
Loves music, and dnaces at the first sound, shakes his body, when he hears Dingle,Dangle, Scarecrow.
sambo Marcus has also started with the temper.Dh was yesterday when he saw him. He was sat in the middle of all his toys and started clenching fists, going bright red and doing a yell type shout.

dizzydixies · 09/07/2009 21:33

sambo loving the sound of your style, I love New Look when do you start back?

buckets sarnie sounds divine, am going to try Captain C again soon, when I get a second

No1 I was looking at Northumberland too but the places I was looking were too pricey and I can't justify it, at this rate we'll be going nowhere! glad you got time to go riding

Lentil your mini meet sounds fab and completely agree VG and her boys are delicious

sazz has arrived safe and well in french froggy and has stolen hookie ITNG for the kids

DH away to TITP, woke up this morning to find Dylan and her cot covered in bile [bleurgh] and then she threw up all over my bed after a milk feed she has improved throughout the day though which is reassuring - DH nipped her into the Dr this morning with her only to be told there is something wrong with her ears and they'll need to be fixed when she's about 3

christening was fabulous, Dylan was an absolute doll all day and we'll have the photos tomorrow. DD1's birthday was great too and she now has her much coveted intendo^ DS and some games. PIL have left and fortunately my marriage is not quite in tatters - close run thing though and decision has been made that when they're here I shall be away in future

had a shift in the cafe yesterday and a funding meeting this morning, am taking the girls to see The Tiger Who Came to Tea at the theatre tomorrow and its the local festical starting on Sat which I'll have to smouze during - fingers crossed for no rain please

dizzydixies · 09/07/2009 21:55

ack

my inane drivel has sent you all into a coma

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:58

I am here dizzy just been doing bit of internet shopping for the dc's

Christening sounds fab, hope we get to see some pics.
What did doc say was wrong with her ears, bless her.
Theatre sounds great, and hope dd1 is enjoying her nintendo

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/07/2009 21:59

Are the pil really bad then??? are they horrible to you?

dizzydixies · 09/07/2009 22:03

no they're not horrible at all thats one of the issues, if they were horrible I'd be justified being arsey with them, they're just here for token grandkids and can't be arsed doing anything to help/join in etc

locum Dr took one look at the wee one and told DH that there was something not right with the cartlidge (sp?!) on her ear and it would have to be surgically corrected

phoned my lovely HV who had a good chuckle about it and told me if I was seriously worried I should bring her and DD2 (who has massive ears bless her) in to see the lovely Dr when she's back from her jollies next wk

what were you buying without me
