happy Birthday DD'sDD

CaptainCaveman · 08/07/2009 20:37

And it must be anniversary central - it's our 10th wedding anniversary this friday TEN BLOODY YEARS! (well ten lovely years actually )

CaptainCaveman · 08/07/2009 20:37

DD was it dd's bday yesterday?

CaptainCaveman · 08/07/2009 20:39

Happy anniversary TS was it yesterday? I wonder if dh will remember ours? Or whether he will be going out with his mates like he normally does on a friday?

Oh well, I'm off to Tesco to get some essentials...wine, bread, meat...

TwilightSurfer · 08/07/2009 21:37

captain horses have a keen sense so your fear only attracked him to you. having been around horse since birth i must say a healthy bag of fearful respect should always be carried when around them. i've seen the tamest do crazy things. they are magnificant(sp) creatures though and riding them is so relaxing.

your anniversary is the 10th right?

dizzy please do remind me next year.

funny dh and i have chatted about it many times for the last two months. i even hid his anniversary card in his car months ago. he found it early, of course. the night and lack of sleep got the better of both of us and we just forgot. dinner was nice. i think he wanted a little more than that but af is still here so forget that.

oh and on the drama front...
my db sent me and african elephant on fb. i accepted it and sent him one back and a jaguar. could this be his first attempts at connecting with me in a year OR did he just randomly select folks so he could earn points. (anybody else feel like we are in primary school?)

no1 i had no idea red colored hair would do that. nice to know.

Happy anniversary TS... and happy holidays Sazzles. Have a great time.

Oh and Sambo I always think it is so unfair that there is no nicer word than 'mousy' for hair which is sort of fair but not really blonde, because it is much more attractive than it sounds. It is the equivalent of having hazel eyes which sound as lovely as they are... Perhaps I am biased as I think that's the colour of DD's hair at the moment but tis my honest opinion. FWIW.

dizzydixies · 08/07/2009 22:45

Arghhhhhhhhh, my laptop has given up ghost so off to shop with it tomorrow. Am on dh's iPhone so forgive me.
Was indeed DD1's 6 th birthday yesterday so too much excitement all round. Pil away this morning & I had a cafe shift with banana chop chip muffins in tow. Girls in bed & am heading too as funding meeting in morning before dh heads off.
Sorry all about me. Sazz enjoy hols. No1 horse etc sounds fab. Pertelote can you please remind me when you're up, I'd hate to miss you. Mini meet up sounded fab ladies. Missing you all!

RedLentil · 08/07/2009 23:05

Well, the Bantry meetup was really wonderful.

Yesterday afternoon,VG and I had coffee while the bigger children went to see the Horrid Henry reading.

MiniVG and the smallest legume chased bubbles and pottered about happily. Though miniVG might want to reconsider a cuddling technique which involves pulling girls towards him by their ears. He is a very lovely little boy.

It was a pure pleasure to spend time with VG - trying to explain what it was like to meet her off-thread on a thread is kind of impossible, but she is lovely, witty, warm and thoughtful in real life and gorgeous too. Both of her boys are an absolute credit to her.

Today, we all went to the woods for a long walk, a picnic and (for the boys) some swimming today. The weather was just beautiful.

VG and DD1 played a blinder in the football match against the boys. DD1 was asking about the next match all the way home and had clearly fallen a little bit in love with VG. I think you have been added to her list of people to ring on her pink telephone

DS was full of praise for VG's DS1 on the way home too. The gist of it was that DS had thought his hair would be different and that he might be a bit too grown-up to play with him. Whereas in reality he was delighted to meet a big boy who was kind, imaginative and eager to have fun. DS is now desperate to learn to swim properly now so that he can be cool too (and to find out more about free running).

So smiles all round and an extra bit of marvelling about all the happiness this thread has produced in the last 18 months ...

My sister rang tonight and having blithely, lied to everyone else about how I knew VG, I confessed this time and her one word response was 'nutter'. Better than a hairy trucker I suppose.

Have a wonderful holiday Sazzles.

Jennylee · 08/07/2009 23:05

I wondered where everyone went from the pregnant thread, mine came 29 th july last year. Is good that most people from that thread are still together on here.

SoNotExpectant · 09/07/2009 04:55

Hi Jennylee and welcome back.

CC happy anniversary - what is 10 years - tin or something?!

Red and VG your meet up sounds lovely too.

DS up at 5 again! Left him to chatter away to himself and he must have fallen back to sleep but woke up at 6am crying so I fed him then. We've had quite a lot of rain the last few days so his little hands have actually felt quite cold to me when I go in to his room - maybe that's what is waking him so early? Not sure what I can do about that though as the air-con is not that sophisticated. He usually has one nap in the morning from 9.30 for about 1hr30 then another one in the afternoon about 2.30 for about 1hr to 1hr30 then sleep at 7pm.

Sazzles Bonne Vacances!

sambo303 · 09/07/2009 07:20

morning

cc sonot is right, it's tin (unless you're a modern lass in which case it's diamond jewelry )

sounds like a fab time was had by all vg and lentil sonot ds up around 5 too this morning, chatting away

going to try to find a new pushchair today as we hate our maclaren more and more every day

Miamla · 09/07/2009 08:31

sambo if you're not in a desperate hurry to buy a new one, you're welcome to try my luna. Its fab as i'm sure albs will agree ;)
We're going to need it this weekend because of seeing pil but its yours next week if you fancy a go

redLegume ah, your meetup sounds lovely. I'm so pleased you all enjoyed each other's company so much. my sister's getting a job in Dublin in a few weeks time so I'll be over on leprechaun land to visit soon

soNot you have my sympathies! DS has decided 4.30 is a great time to start the day but this morning i managed to get him back to sleep so we didn't get up til 6.50!!
Having cold hands isn't a sign that he's cold, you need to check the back of his neck. (sure you know this already!)

dizz i hope you get fixed very soon, its rather quiet on here without you

CC not surprised you don't like horses. I had a similar experience with my nanna's german shepherd. she reckoned he was trying to kiss me Felt more like being pinned to the sofa by a big scary dog!

Dsis staying with us at the moment because she had an operation to have her wisdom teeth out yday. its lovely having her here but i suspect she'll chose to go home today due to the number of wakeups. I think the longest stretch of sleep we had was 2hrs BUT he stayed in his cot with no bfs or cuddles from when he went to bed until he got up so not all bad.

TS well any contact with Dbro better than nothing so perhaps this is the start of something. I hope it is

Hello everyone

Glad to hear the Irish meetup went well. (I totally agree with Red's assessment of VG)

I have to confess that I am also scared of horses. I think they are beautiful, but scary. My bad experience was at a birthday party when I was about 6/7. There we all are playing games, and suddenly about 5 horses (belonging to birthday girl's parents) stampeded right through our party. We all scattered and I climbed up a tree as quick as lightning, while the adults stood by pissing themselves laughing I've never been able to be comfortable with horses since.

Rough night here. Seb decided to wake at one and scream inconsolably till two. Nothing would calm him, but I eventualy managed to rock him back to sleep. Unfortunately DP decided to descend into name-calling again despite our bargain, that if I was struggling he wouldn't react like that.

AnnVan · 09/07/2009 13:31

yikes I really killed the thread

alittlebitshy · 09/07/2009 14:01

ann oh no re dp in the ngiht:9 has he apologised?

sambo what do you hate about the maclaren? I was admiring it in my head the other day - looked ideal for tube travle - light but sturdier than some maclarens etc.

AnnVan · 09/07/2009 17:25

ALBS no, no apology. But then, I've never yet had an apology for any of the night-time insults he's thrown my way, so I'm not holding out hope for one this time.

It is seriously quiet on here today.

alittlebitshy · 09/07/2009 17:36

where is everyone? this happened last time sazzles went away .

TwilightSurfer · 09/07/2009 17:47

Jennylee you have been missed. Please stay awhile.

Red & VG ya'll really make me . It sounds like a lovely lovely lovely meetup.

Please explain this 5am feeding requirement. Reese made it through the night but 5am SHE HAD to HAVE food. From the postings it looks like she's not alone. Are they texting each other?

REESE:
Clapping, Standing Up, Walking Well with Assistance, Walking Cautiously without Assistance, Six Teeth, Saying: Uh Oh & Baby & Momma & Dadda & Good Boy, Naps Twice a Day, Sleeping (most nights) from 8pm until 5am, Loves all Foods, Drinking Water from a Sippy Cup, Holds her own Bottle, Unsure of Weight but I'd guess 25lbs.

oopsacoconut · 09/07/2009 18:34

Hi All

Have you all gone and had real lives??

We are well, have taken delivery of a sandpit/paddling pool just in time for the rain

Here is DD's update:

Crawls like a spider, stands alone, walks well holding both hands, 7 teeth, says: Mama, Papa, cat, dog, bird, haddo (hello), wassa (what's that) will eat anything the stands strill long enough, drinks from sippy cup/water bottle, sleeps variably, weighs 17lb 4oz.

TS - DD's starving time is about 4.30 she just can't go any longer.

ANN- the is very off of DP, are you going to remind him about your bargain

Lentil - very of your VG meet up.

alittlebitshy · 09/07/2009 19:59

everyone is all gone!!! waaah.

AnnVan · 09/07/2009 20:12

Ah no I'm here ALBS!
Although I do have a very unhappy baby boy on my hands, which doesn't bode well for tonight really.
Had a lovely lunch with a couple of ladies from bf group today. they made eton mess for afters so that may have set my diet back somewhat.
House is a bombsite but can't do anything about it due to unhappy boy.
