useless lumps would generally cover the need for use of word haddy

I would imagine cake will be just fine, very resiliant cakes you know! Dylan's christening cake spent 5wks in the freezer before being brought out and finally polished off only a few days ago

Hello girls here I am again still feeling ropey but definitely on the mend thank goodness. And the DC seem to have come through unscathed so far, thankfully they have inherited DH's manly immune system rather than my wussy one

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 09:46

not often a man's immune system can beat that of the ladies - you'll be needing some echinacea - glad to hear you're on the mend though

VG - step away from the fork! now has new neice been named or are they needing my expertise

hotterpotter · 17/07/2009 09:49

Oh sense of smell, you double-edged sword, I was so glad to get you back today, until I caught a whiff of DS' nappy better go and change him, this may either kill or cure

Miamla · 17/07/2009 09:55

morning all
awful awful night here, 3 hours of screaming. went into dp to ask for his help at 6am ie after 3hrs of screaming, i woke him up to be told he was tired too and hadn't slept either wtf. i then had meltdown and asked why the helll he hadn't come in to help then. i got sent back to bed. he somehow got ds to sleep but then we were all awake again at 7. blah blah blah
i need a cup of tea

hots glad you're feeling a bit better. what happened about bf and tamiflu?

ah miamla am sorry I'm not closer to be able to help

VG - remind them that my services are free to family of friends

hotterpotter · 17/07/2009 10:12

Oh Miamla poor DS and at your DP again. Will you have any chance for a nap later on? I decided to take the tamiflu and carry on with the little bf that we still do, after all they give it neat to babies who are one and DS is nearly one so...

VG your cake looks spectacular Hope DS is better in time for his surprise party.

Just remembered it is our wedding anniversary today no lurve in the hotter house I'm afraid but DH has been a real star all week and I'm lucky glad to have him

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 10:17

oh lovely, happy anniversery Mr & Mrs Hots

Miamla · 17/07/2009 10:22

agreed vg, cake looks lovely

hots that was my thinking too re their age and my taking it. happy anni

got a horrible headache so i'm off to sit quietly. i'm letting DP have a lie in otherwise no chance of a nap for me later because we'll both be grumpy.

Happy Anniversary hotter
Glad you are on the mend.

miamla sorry for you're poor night. hope you manage to get a rest/nap in today.

vg that cake is fantastic, I am wanting to make ds birthday cake but have not decorated before. I have no clue whta kind of cake or topping tbh.
Sorry he is still feeling poorly, but tomorow sounds lovely.

dizzy how is the painter doing?
My dh id also sleeping off nightshift, and I have just managed to get ds down for a nap. (nightmare tricky with dd following and shouting) can hardly expect 2 yr old to be quite and stay still while I settle ds and don't wake dh.
shift workers eh?

sambo I hope you're dp has calmed down today and apologised to you today. Hope you are ok. How is ds today, has is rash cleared up yet?
ann how is ds today, hope the antibiotics have kicked in.
expectant that is amazing of you're ds, how clever.
Now he can tell you whenever he wants to go out no rest for you now then

oh and forgot vg congratulation son the baby a lovely weight too.

Pissing it down, not stopped at all yet. Put an abrubpt end to my plans today.
Didn't want to take dc's out in this when they have just been ill.
I also dyed my hair again last night, so can't go out in the rain
bit ridiculous really.

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 10:40

No1 he's finally given up and gone thank goodness, after leaving all the doors in the house open and traipsing through with his wet boots and yapping at me for ages (I think he's a bit deaf so can't talk in anything but a dull roar)

now I think I might have time to go to the bathroom (he was wandering in and out the house so I couldn't go ) and get a shower just in time for Dylan to no doubt waken up - so much for me getting tonnes done

I know it sounds ridiclious but if I wasn't here he'd be shouting up the stairs looking for me and banging the doors sorry for the whinging

hotterpotter · 17/07/2009 10:43

No1 what hair dye do you use that comes out in the rain? Doesn't it come out when you wash it then??? Raining here too, grass is about knee-high from lack of cutting, and I must be feeling better because the disgusting state of the house is starting to annoy me...

hotterpotter · 17/07/2009 10:46

Dizzy the vanilla cake was deeeelish but very heavy even though it rose well, so the icing squidged out when I put the top on. Should I just slice nearer to the top, or use extra-thick icing (or both)? Will deffo be having another go at it though.

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 10:48

hots I don't know sorry, mine have always been fine but then I used the bigger cake tin so more icing required for bigger cake, I also iced in the middle over the top and all round the sides, were you doing that?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/07/2009 11:17

Glad he has one dizzy
ooh all this cake sorted is getting me excited.
I have been googling icing tips and ideas.

hotter I have used the schwartzcopf live xxL colour.
Yes every shower I have is red
untill it all wahes out. Can't remeber how many washes that is though.
So I imagine If I went out in the rain then it would run down my face, then onto my clothes. Not a good look really is it.

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 11:21

oh oh friend has just texted to say the girls are in the paper today

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 11:22

my girls!!

disclaimer - not all those children are mine

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 17/07/2009 11:25

Ah bless that is great. Have they seen it yet?
Bet they will love that.

which is easiest to do cake topping wise. That roll out icing or something else?

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 11:28

no they're down at my aunts so I'll have to go and buy a copy today

how do you want to decorate it? any cake I've done I normally use ganache or buttercream icing (it allows for mistakes) and use the candles etc as decoration
