dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 22:08

NO1 sorry I missed you earlier, the phone is here, he'd put his sim card in it and it had stored his numbers!! anyway, I've deleted them all so now all I have to do is get it to be able to go on the internet/receive emails as I can't do that

dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 22:11

feck, have just worked out my CM is going to cost £52 a day and I have to book her two days a week [meep]

sitting doing these shifts is depressing me however I shouldn't feel guilty as at least I have a job to go back to

poppysocks · 16/07/2009 22:22

Happy Birthday ALBS and largermini VG. How's the birthday boy feeling now?

What a bgger sambo*. Had to LOL at your career path being a bit of a long joke. Only today I was chatting to colleagues about my decision not to follow my interest because I thought there were more dynamic things out there... which lead me to my current desk . It would be depressing if it wasn't at least a bit funny. More seriously though, is this a turning point for you to follow your heart into something more 'you'?

Yay for the imminent return of la sazz.

How are you today hp?

It is so expensive isn't it dizzy. If it makes you feel better, that sounds like a pretty good price to me though. We got our first bill for the two of them at nursery today.... may I borrow a [meep] or two?

dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 22:25

[MEEP] away Poppy, am considering dropping DD2's one day a week at nursery to try to claw something back, my sanity can wain for a few more years

welcome home Poppy, you have been missed

poppysocks · 16/07/2009 22:35

Thank you dizzy! Given the size of today's bill, DD1 will def. being going to school next summer.

I told DD1 during tonight's rendition of The Tiger Who Came To Tea that L had been to the theatre to see it. She is torn between all-consuming jealousy and desperation to hear all about it. Probably a good thing she has a week to calm down before hearing all about it!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/07/2009 22:36

Is it cruel to hold out till ds takes a bf???

He usualy wakes around midnight ish and ends up with ff.
He has been crying for last 20 min, I have been in offerd BOOB, cuddled, rocked, pat, shushed, layed down rubbed back etc...

Should I cave in and offer ff or go back in a while and offer bf again??
Maybe he isn't hungry and it's just teeth.
guess guess guess
He isn't sobbin gnow btw just moaning on and off.

dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 22:42

poppy I don't blame you at all, its mind boggling, although on a more personal level DD2 will miss her terribly if she does go I shall watch out for it coming back as it was wonderful and we can all go together to see it again.

No1 what will make it easier for you? I'm all about the easy these days

poppysocks · 16/07/2009 22:44

Sorry no1. No words of wisdom. It is so difficult isn't it. I'm guessing though that if he really is hungry though that he'd take milk of any sort.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/07/2009 22:54

Cheers, yes dizzy I have been all about the easy lately, which as why after he got/gets frustrated with slow let down I have offered ff. yes this results in using more ff.
My only problem is I have now found myself coming downstairs at all hours in night to make a bottle This is really starting to annoy me as one advantage of bf is the convenience of it.iykwim.

I also agree if he was hungry then he would take it.
oh well.im off cos I have just heard dd walk across landing. Due to his wailing moaning.
night

dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 23:06

night No1, hope it goes ok for you

dizzydixies · 16/07/2009 23:20

I need to go to bed as DH on nights, I have a very full day of cleaning planned tomorrow, the painted no doubt turning up at the crack of dawn again AND I'm managing to get myself embroiled in a barney on another thread

so goodnight all

TwilightSurfer · 17/07/2009 01:08

Dizzy I scrolled over the thread of which you speak. WTF! So so silly.

I don't know if any of you have the BRAVO network but if so there is a new reality show called Miami Social. I like it. It's very very Miami. Lots of hotties and drama in a pretty setting.

Reese is WALKING WALKING WALKING. The girl has walked every where today. She's singing too. Very funny. She said WATER for the first time today. I'm working on the signs but she's verbalizing way faster than I expected.

Dreamy Sleepy Wishes to ALL

SoNotExpectant · 17/07/2009 03:38

TS Sam is walking walking walking too. This morning he took his shoes off the shelf put them on the floor next to his feet and stood on them. I put them on and he walked over to the front door and banged on it

Ann how did Seb get on at the doctors?

Sambo I don't really know how I ended up in my current career either. I'm rubbish with numbers - languages was always more my thing but hey ho here I am many years later. But v. about the 4 days being rejected you'd think what with current climate they'd be only too pleased but I suppose you guys are pretty in demand.

Hope all others well and truly on the mend.

sarahnh · 17/07/2009 06:41

oopsacoconut · 17/07/2009 07:41

Morning

Good night here except for bedtime which was a nightmare. I can't do the 'let her cry' it makes us both upset. I ended up cuddling her and she was off in 2 minutes (after 10 mins of cry, go in lie her down, pat, leave every couple of minutes). The bottle at bedtime is taking a nose dive too, she take 2 maybe 3 oz and then yells for boob which she hasn't had at bedtime for nearly 8 weeks

On the brighter side she is obsessed with ducks, I found a webpage with loads of duck toys on it to end the duck nagging to amuse her, now she climbs on my lap and points to the laptop saying duck?? waa waa (quack, quack)

We are off swimming today then baking later for the coffee shop, Dizzy do you have any big fluffy muffin recipes? I have a white choc and raspberry one but have not tried it and I know yours are likely to be fab.

oopsacoconut · 17/07/2009 07:41

Hi Sarah

sambo303 · 17/07/2009 08:08

morning all

thanks for brekker sarah

oops I have come to the conclusion that leaving babies to cry is wrong for me and I will never do it. I can usually tell the difference between an upset cry and whinge and we defintely had the upset cry last night at midnight and 3am. Ds has been eating very little lately so I guessed he really was hungry/thirsty

well seems my impulse pram purchase was the wrong thing to do as dp hit the roof when I told him and I got a tirade of abuse about every little thing that usually arises in arguments mainly about how he hates our house, blah blah blah, it's too small, I dont have any space, I am a caged bird, you never listen to me, there's no way we're having another baby here, ds is not going to school round here etc. I said it will cost £6 to return - apparently this is yet further proof of my profligacy that I do not care about £6. We are not friends.

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 08:20

fucking hell Sambo - who pushed him out the wrong side of the bed do you think its misplaced anxiety re your job? numpty Mr 303

TS - was/is hysterical thread, great fun for a Thurs evening

oops white choc and rasp sound delicious, what are you looking for? for HUGE muffins I normally use the paper wraps rather than cases and just fill them up, if you want them to kind of bulge at the top just sprinkle them with a little baking powder - here endeth the Nigella workshop!

sarah how awful about your accident, that must have been very frightening - are you in pain with your joint damage? Dylan prefers to crawl to btw, mainly up and down stairs which have been an obsession now for a while

VG how is DS1 this morning?
miamla hope you're continuing to improve
hots hugs (from behind a mask) to you too

dizzydixies · 17/07/2009 08:54

the fecking painter is here again, in the sodding rain trying to paint the outside of the house, now he's the uncle of a friend of mine and therefore I feel as if I can't ask him to stop banging the doors/wandering in and out of the bloody house, leaving the doors open and whistling/singing and grunting - DH is trying to sleep off a nightshift and I've just put Dylan down for her nap having been up since 5.30am - I fancied going back to bed myself but now can't as he'll need something at some point (like a wee chat or some reassurance that the shade of white I've given him is the right one)

oh lovely news and congratulations Auntie Gardenia - does she have a name? (not that I'm obsessed or anything )

sorry to hear DS1 still suffering, I hope it passes in time for his lovely picnic - please do take a photo of cake.

I would like to think that I inspired Avoca so if you know differently please don't tell me

we have that Eric Carle book and its much loved here - 5 little ducks went swimming one day also a much repeated favourite here. Reminds me of DD2's duck obsession where bless her she couldn't make a quacking sound and it was as if she was trying to hack up a spit
