sorry to hear of sick babies and mummies, hope you are all resting and drinking lots of tea (my cure-all)... does swine flu pass quickly? just hoping we dont get it as we are carrying on as normal...

hotpot lol at 'just accept it' - I have got to that stage/age too now, bit disconcerting.

ds asleep after we spent 1.5 hours trying (unsuccessfully) to get the poor lad to nap this morning. He finally conked out in the car on the way home from baby signing and did not wake when I carried him to bed (unheard of).

VG glad i've been amusing you but what on earth do you mean by 'Chap going out of tent into the snow'?!

i've spoken to nhs direct, a nurse and a doctor and i'm now officially in quarantine, DP signed off work for a week because he's been in contact with me (we had shreddies for dinner last night ), flu friend aka as my uncle has been notified and tamiflu is on its way. fortunately so far it looks like DS has escaped it but we've got to keep a close eye on him. he's still really wobbly, lethargic, clingy and generally not well.
lol, he's proving me a liar...just had to grab him down off coffee table!

hands in the echinecea for miamla and hots and hands round the hand sanitiser and face masks to all else

miamla VG was telling you who the quote was by from earlier on. Can you do an online tesco/asda etc shop to keep you going?

been to lovely cafe in St Andrews today with DD1 and DD2, DH and Dylan remained here asleep - was glorious day there but pouring down here so washing soaked

PMSL at Dad music - my dad loved Shirley bassey and Kenny Rodgers have loved Fleetwood Mac since I was about 14 and thought I was sooooooooooo retro, Fleetwood Mac, Eric Clapton, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan still hold a special place in my heart tbh - I should've been a hippy lol

dizzydixies · 13/07/2009 15:23

dizzydixies · 13/07/2009 15:32

Steaknife · 13/07/2009 15:34

I'm following along but not finding time to post properly.

miamla oh dear hope the pig flu gets better soon.

I have a very shouty baby at the moment, tis too hot for anything fun but all the dull stuff still needs to be done. Such is life. I think I'm going to sling her up and take her to the supermarket. At least it is cool there.

cool temperature wise, I am not so sad to think the supermarket is a you know cool place to be, nor am I so uncool that I use "cool" I much prefer "ACE!" or even "GEM!!!!!!"

Gah heat has got to my brain, tis like melty stinky french cheese.

Miamla · 13/07/2009 16:01

thanks for explanation 8dizz i'd never have got that in a million years!
apparently its the high termperature we need to look at for, that and the lovebite rash. it would appear our digital theremoter isn't woriing because it resigesters 35.5 for everything and tht i do have a high temp (over 38 is classed as high) which seem s reidiculous because i naturally have a low boyd temp so high for me is normal for normal body temp people
you kow what, i can see al the typos but they're staying, haven't got enough energy to correct hthem all

how you feeling now hots?

AnnVan · 13/07/2009 17:43

hi everyone!! Haven't been able to catch up yet although i have seen about Miamla's piggy flu Hope you feel better soon.

I'm wiped out at the moment. Had a good driving lesson, although it's soooo embarrassing that I have to have a cushion on the seat so I can see when bay parking And then I'm too high up to comfortably reach the pedals. Ho hum. It really makes me feel like a midget.

I've just spent about an hour on the phone to sign on for jobseekers. Figure I might as well, after all that's what NI contributions are for. Not looking any closer to getting work here though. It is dry dry dry round here. Ah well, I'm enjoying the mummy time, just very aware that the money in my bank is steadily diminishing. Right must go wake little man from his nap. The kitchen is a disaster area, so will let him wiggle about while I do some hard-core cleaning.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/07/2009 18:17

hey steaky hope you have cooled down a bit.

DD has just fallen asleep on my knee which is unheard of. She has temp of 39.5.
Bless her.

DS is doing a 'seb' and battering the keyboard, so will be back later.
Enjoy the cleaning ann

For all those planning to get duffed up again quite soon, here's a nifty idea for beautification

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/07/2009 19:48

Just been on the phone to doctor, and he has told me we have to stay indoors.

Due to M having high temp last few days and his nappies are vile too (which is most unusual) DD high temp, cough etc... and I saw no connection to my headache last few days and I had stomache cramps yesterday and a bad bout of Diorrhea (sp) last night. Sorry if tmi.
I thought it was because I ate quite a bit of bread and stuff yesterday after eating very little for last few weeks and had just overfaced myself.
Doctor said to stay at home for a few days at least, as it is hard to identify pig flu due to lots of other viral things, but can't rule it out.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 13/07/2009 19:50

vg I bet he looks so cute, a pianist in the making
cyteen I saw that done on the baby channel on sky. Some look amazing. Not sure I could sit that long, with a bump that big, Oh the fond memories of not being able to comfortable.

sarahnh · 13/07/2009 20:09

Hey everyone,

its been so long since i have been on line.. lost connection at home for months and have only recently got it back...

have been watching the thread for a few days but was a bit shy coming back

So sorry to hear all those who are poorly, we have managed to escape it so far, tho living in the west midlands it seems its all over here.. been feeling very achy today but no temp or sore throat so i'm battling on!!

Tessie is doing really well, has finally started sleeping thru (fingers crossed) and took her first two steps today, tho i was in the kitchen and missed it!! DH shouted at me to come in but i was too late!!!

I cannot believe that our babies are nearly one, seems like yesterday we were complaining how heavy and ucomfortable we all were and desperately looking for signs of their arrival... make me feel a tiny bit broody but 2 is definitely enough for me!!

sambo303 · 13/07/2009 20:52

well, ds slept for over 3 hours - that boy never ceases to surprise me.

no1 poor you and M, I did think when you described your symptoms earlier that you might be another 2 coming down with the lergy du jour

cyteen gah, I cant believe I didnt get that done the first time! Gotta ttc so I can have a henna bump although may be hard as dp had another 'never again I'm too tired' strop today

ann what about setting up your own online nappy shop? I think you have the right amount of passion for the product

steak I am partial to BRILL and FAB

hoping for a repeat performance of last night, ds slept from 8pm til 4.30am without a peep (unheard of), then moaned for 5 mins (I hid under the covers) then back to sleep til 7am. More of this please

sambo303 · 13/07/2009 20:55

hi sarah 'finally started sleeping thru' wonderful news! Makes all the difference doesnt it. It's good to know that on mn babies dont sleep through from 8 weeks cos out here in RL it seems they all do except mine !
