I know I have to go, because I said last time if they ever tour again I am going.

Looks like I will be going on my own though. how sad is that

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:31

I was looking at Dublin but its when I'm on shift so can't do that either andh ave just checked Sheffield dates but I'm sodding working the next morning

think I'm going to have to shell out for Glasgow, they are my all time fav - can I justify it as a once in a lifetime experience? Have already seen Eric Clapton, tried to see Sting but tore the ligaments in my ankle and couldn't go so

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:35

oops could PIL not take P for her lunch to let you and DH have a wee snooze?

I have to go and bath the girls as they're still covered in facepaints - am tempted to chuck them out the backgarden and let the rain get them

No1 if I wasn't short of annual leave due to their sodding mix up I'd be down in a flash - how long would it take me to drive to Sheffield?!?

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 10:35

dizzy I know I will regret big time of I don't go. I was always going to see bands and don't anymore. This band I have always wanted to see. I have just text my dad as he works at the Halam fm arena in sheffield. He can advice me on seats and can sometimes get tickets!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 10:36

where abouts are you again dizzy? oops that would be a good compromise, so you could rest.

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:37

north east fife just across the bridge from Dundee

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 10:46

dizzy I reckon around 5 hours but I am not great at geography.
Quite a treck that isn't it.

dh has just offered to buy me ticket for my birthday, see I told you the hint had been dropped.
Plant the seed and wait for it to grow, as my mum used to say

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:48

clever Mr Corner Mr Dixie has to be dragged, have item pointed at, taken to till and told to hand over credit card

pertelote · 12/07/2009 10:48

Oh Oops what an awful night. Hope you get some rest today one way or another.

Dizzy thanks for saying that about DD. I am so PFBish about her it's ridiculous - thank goodness she is actually ok now - well obviously I am thankful for that but if she weren't I would clearly treat her like bone china and she would grow up a spoilt little princess!

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:51

now now Pertelote, no need to thank me for the soppy moment

am off to bathe the tiger and stinky child as I have taken to calling DD1 and DD2 - am also hoping I might manage a shower at the same time as Dylan is napping but seeing as the older two couldn't be quite if their lives depended on it I doubt it'll happen

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 11:51

My dh has just bought 2 tickets for Fleetwood Mac, after watching me sulk for a while because he said they had all gone when he checked.

He has just walked ou the door, and told me had got them really.
He also walked off muttering about brownie points.

pertelote You are so entitled to be pfb with M.(I am still like that now) which is probably why we have only left ds and dd once in almost a year
After what you have all been through, I would have her wrapped in bubble wrap.
She is certainly one VERY SPECIAL little princess.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 11:52

Hope stinky child and Tiger are nice and clean

I am off to get dressed, before ds wakes up. We are then off to summer gala and Horse riding.
Hope you all have lovely day.

cyteen · 12/07/2009 13:01

no1 going to gigs alone isn't sad, it's brilliant! No one to interrupt your listening pleasure with chat, no one to get in the way of mad dancing, no one to feel self-conscious about if you find yourself getting emotional.

I saw Arcade Fire on my own and it was magical, a really intense experience. I cried all the way through

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 15:05

missed out on billy connolly tickets but have spent a horrific amount of money on Fleetwood Mac tickets

actually its not money its credit

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 15:07

oh and stinky and tiger are now clean, slathered in after sun so smelling divine and off to the cinema to see Ice Age

its one of those very strange days here, glorious sunshine one second and chucking it down the next only in bloody Scotland!!

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 19:16

oh that electric picnic thing looks fab, we have a similar thing here in Fife, will find a link, but I decided against it this year as DH was working and I'm not taking all 3 myself [chicken emoticon]

glad DS1's trip went well, do you think it will become a regular thing? I loved having my gran all to myself when I was his age

poor DP and all that travelling hope he managed to relax and enjoy the wedding

quiche sounds lovely and very of Leonard Cohen - have to break it tonight re price of tickets to DH, am hoping that although his eyes will roll in his head he will realise that this is a necessity and not a frivilance

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 20:24

this is ours here VG - maybe next year we could have an Aug 08 meet up here with a live link for TS?!?!?bigtentfestival

oopsacoconut · 12/07/2009 20:33

Evening all

DD in bed sleeping, she napped for an hour this morning then we went to bed after lunch for a couple of hours. Everyone was in a much better mood after that! Dh enjoyed the nothingness of the day just working out and watching cricket.

Those festival look great I wish we had somewthing like that closer. Might have to work on DH for the Scotland one next year

Very of concert going.

Dinner needs sorting back in a bit....
