Don't worry Dizzy, Hots - I have no intention of doing anything permanent/labour-intensive to DD's room, I've just been looking at art, rugs etc as an excuse for delay (and for shopping )

I have also been remiss with the sun lotion, luckily DD seems to have DH's colouring so hasn't burnt but I have still had enough comments on her tan to make me feel very indeed.

Buckets et al, - if I pogoed I'd have two black eyes.

Spent my lazy day today making huge vat of bolognese sauce - reckon freezer full of food will be just as useful for return to work as it was this time last year. Had a bit for dinner followed by ridiculous sundaes - home made strawberry ice cream with fresh strawberries, brownies, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. That won't help the pogoing will it!

There's a loud party going on somewhere in the street and DD is asleep so far but tossing and turning . Reason no. 3,491 to move DD - she will be at the back of the house instead of the front and I can sleep with the window open again.

11 month update: DD still bum-shuffling not crawling, but stands and walks very steadily holding on with one hand. Just hitting 8kg. Three meals, two snacks and three-ish BFs a day, plus one or two wakings for boob at night. Says dada and buba (= blueberry), signs milk, food, and drink as requests, and change (nappy), sleep and thank you rather randomly. She's gorgeous

pertelote · 11/07/2009 22:38

That was a great long me me me . Sorry everyone. Hullo to you all and kisses to your LOs.

Dizzy I completely understand your desire and knowing deep the only way to achieve it is to make it yourself. Why is it family is less familish now-a-days? I've only recently started to feel a rebonding with my mother's side of the family. We all drifted slightly away from each other but now we all have kids relatively the same age and the forces of nature are pulling us back as we should be. It's also never going to be peaches-n-cream with my brother and his children because of the individual he chose to marry. She's just not a people person. All that said I'm glad I have my friends and my mn family. Life just wouldn't be the same with either.

As for family, I think midi-surfer "thinks" midi-sazzles & mini-sazzles are cousins. She talks about them in the very same way she talks about her other cousins. It's really rather sweet.

VG I sitting her in anticipation waiting for the gender of your newest family member. I just LOVE baby stories.

As for baby stories, LWFH when do you get to find out the gender of your baby?? Three weeks???

DH's cousin finds out Tuesday (she's due in Dec) and I'm POSITIVE it's a girl.

My cousin's wife is due in Nov and she found out the other day it's a girl.

I expect another family member to announce they are going to have a baby soon.

It's all so special this baby making world we've been in. Some of us (like me) are leaving it but many of you will be going on to experience it all over again. Makes me a happy-sad.

Pertelote I am in awe at Mariann's signing. I'll have more time to work with Reese on such things once DD1 is in Kindergarten. Actually I'll have more time to do A LOT OF THINGS that I did with DD1 once DD1 is back in school. Reese has really gotten the short end of the stick lately.

morning all, unashamed bacon butties all round with lashings of tomato ketchup or brown sauce - your choice!

for the hot mamas amongst us its on wheat/seeded bread, bacon is lean and grilled and just a smattering of low fat spread and not butter

DH away to TiTP in the torrential rain at least he won't get sunburn topped up Dylan up at 6am and DD1 now up wrapped in a towel which means she's wet the bed, I thought we'd cracked it DD2 is still sleeping so I'll sort it out once she's up

VG thank you

pertelote can I say, with the fear of sounding like a gushy loon, that I genuinely look forward to hearing all about Marianne's update. I know I am ridicliously nervous when I think about the Dr mentioning that Dylan will need her ears fixed when she's 3 so I cannot begin to imagine what you and Mr Pert (as I like to call him ) went through with M and her operation - she sounds like an absolute delight and I cannot wait to meet her in a few weeks. Now, all that said I'm SO with you on the black eyes- I'd probably take a few people out with me

TS thank you for understanding my ridiclious need for a large family. I'm not sure if this stems from being adopted or not but I know that I have always wanted a lot of kids so they have each other iyswim? I think a very small part of my issues re the PIL stems from the fact that they're biologically related to my girls and my family are not - that and the fact they're just a sheer pain in the t*ts

thank you for the list as well, cannot believe we're at the stage of candle blowing I meant to tell you all I had a lovely chat with the lovelypf on facebook last week, she is doing well but worrying about the same as us all - back to work arrangements/sleeping patterns etc etc have told her we're here when she needs us.

has anyone heard from ataraxis recently?

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:21

did I tell you that I've spent a stupid amount of money on a new mobile phone - got it cheap off ebay but still and I'm blaming you lot - esp TS & Sazz!!! I also think it was a heady thrill of getting paid this month again - I hope!!! should arrive by courier on Tues of I'll be gutted

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:22

and I'm turning off the fecking news, firefighter killed and another injured in Edinburgh. 2 cops assaulted in brechin (my force area) one of whom was stabbed and is in the hospital AND a big review on Afghanistan which is where a very dear friend of mine is

no more current affairs for me today me thinks [heads back in the sand for dizzy]

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:24

aarrgghhhhhhh do I up my bid on the Billy Connolly tickets for DH's birthday or let them go?!? they're so expensive but I fear this will be his last tour, it would be a great birthday present and they are EXCELLENT tickets

decisions decisions

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:37

dd2 still sleeping

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:39

I need to get some RL freinds who are awake this early instead of blethering away on here

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 08:47

dd2 now up & her face is pink too

except from where her black tiger stripes she had face painted on has protected her - tis rather comical [bless her]

cyteen · 12/07/2009 09:08

Get the tickets dizzy, you know it will be money well spent I took my dad, stepmum and DP to see Bill Bailey for my dad's birthday one year, it was absolutely priceless. I thought I was going to pass out, I was laughing so hard.

DS spent all night in with us last night - went down like a charm but was up at 10.30 shouting and inconsolable for no apparent reason, which continued on and off all night [yawn] Most of it he wasn't even awake for although he managed to shunt me to the very edge of the bed most efficiently.

But the payoff is that he seems to have gone through a cuteness growth spurt and is soooo adorable today, I can't take my eyes off him

Not much specific to update with: still going backwards, babbling not talking, no standing/walking/cruising/whatever, he's pretty much the same as last time. Except that I love him twice as much every day

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 09:35

cyteen we've seen him before, I think about 5yrs ago, and we both about hurt ourselves - now DH is a lovely lovely bloke but it is very rare the he gafawws out loud hysterically where as I am prone to common side splitting, eye watering moments of madness - normally brought on by near hysterics mind you the only other thing I've seen him laugh that hard at was Spamalot in London

have put on a cheeky bid hoping to get them but also hoping not to [meep]

inconsolable crying even whilst in sleep sounds like teeth - wee poppet

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 10:08

pmsl dizzy I too am prone to the side split I hope you get the tickets.
I am just looking to buy Eddie Izzard and Fleetwood mac I have droppped some hints to dh about The Mac tickets as it is in November which is my birthday. He won't go though so will either have to go on my own or ask my friend who played guitar with me on my cd as I know he loves them too.

cyteen poor ds hope he is feeling better, I have had that with M too. I had a better night last night and his temp seems to have come down, thangoodness.
I know what you mean about them changing though. Me and dh said the other day, you can really see his cheeky personality coming through. I can't stop smothering kissing him at the moment. (I have to make sure dd is looking)

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:13

OMG where oh where oh WHERE are fleetwood Mac playing ?!??! tell me tell me tell me

oopsacoconut · 12/07/2009 10:17

Evening all or at last that is how it feels - something was up with DD last night and I have had NO sleep she woke at 10 yelling and sounding sore so gave her some calpol but it seemed to hype her up and did nothing for the screaming so at 10.45 I put her in our bed and tried to get her back to sleep but she saw DH and wanted to play so it was 11.45 before she eventually was cradled and coerced to sleep then woke every 20 mins for 5 mins screaming and wriggling then was awake for the day at 3.52. Why o Why is there no kids telly on at that hour. I amanaged to get her to lie and yatter until 5.30 when I found some drivel on channel 5 then The Hoobs at 6 she had a nap at 6.50 for 40 mins so I got 20mins in. I took her to DH who got all arsey as he was tired having stayed up until 1 watchig a film. I brought DD downstairs and left them too it and went back to be for an hour and a half. DD was yelling (again) and so I got up. She was kind to her Papa she poo'd all up her back, down her legs and put her hands in it to show DH when he took her nappy off. Which will teach him for being stroppy

Will catch up when I am slightly more awake.

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:18

they're sold out for Glasgow

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 12/07/2009 10:19

vg hope you enjoyed the alone time last night. I am with you on that one,we love them but the peace and quiet is wonderful.
How is ds1 is he making his wake back on his own too?

dizzy don't feel to bad about the sunburn, it is difficult to monitor all the time. My dsis say's I am obsessed as constantly slather on the cream, and won't let dd out without hat, however it happens occasionaly.

sorry back soon

dizzydixies · 12/07/2009 10:20
