back from a very successful local festival and the girls loved being in the fancy dress parade then all the usual pap associated with local festival - 3.5hrs was long enough even though I can still here it going on from here

my friend has taken DD1 and DD2 to see if they can find a park she used to go to over 20yrs ago and Dylan is asleep so I've got 5minutes reprise

oopsacoconut · 11/07/2009 18:35

Hi All just a quickie as we have friend coming and need to get DD to bed.

We had to go and buy a new sofa today as running in from outside and dive bombing onto the sofa is apparently not designed for it In my defence I was running away from DH with a hosepipe trying to wet me. But it has cost us a fortune to replace it as we thought we may as well have the one we wanted rather than settle for cheapest.

DD and I went to food festival today and we saw loads of animals but it was a bit mean as they were right next to where their relatives were being cooked DD loved the cows and sheep and threw an enormous tantrum when we left. Oh the joys of terrible twos yet to come.

Dizzy - Polelase your day was a success.

Buckets - we don't have a Pizza Hut only Dominos I love cold pizza for breakfast.

Hi everyone else willcatch up later when guests have gone and DD is asleep (rather than pulling on the laptop screen!)

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/07/2009 19:12

mmmm cold pizza.

oops hope you had a good night last night.
That is a good reason as any to get anew sofa

hotter Hope you enjoyed the cake and you're mum had a lovely day.
dizzy glad the girls enjoyed the festival.
I am going to one tomorow in my mum's village, well actually I will be sneaking off riding as the farm is next door. and dsis will watch the dcs.

Rough night last night, after few nights of good ones. Marcus had high temp and was awake almost constantly from midnight to 5 am. I decided I would bring him in bed with me at 5aM.He normaly hates it,but settled in the crook of my arm till 7am. Wish I had tried it at midnight.
It was lovely having a snuggle, eben though my arm went dead.
He has had temp all day, I have been administering Calprofen.

I sneaked off riding again
however I felt so guilty when I arrived home, as dh said they had both moaned condtantly and I was as ds was burning up and dh had not given ds any calprofen.
His excuse was he hadn't had time as dd was a nightmare

He added he could not do this being at home with them all the time. He has had them most of week while I have had some well deserved me time. (about time too)
He also said he would have a nanny if he was on his own with them.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/07/2009 19:15

sorry if any typos I am sat in dd's room and it is dark.
I have quit the rapid return as I was just getting too upset and chest was tightening. So I had few nights laying with her till she fell asleep, then few nights sat at the side of her, then 2 nights sat on floor, I am now on second night sat next to her door, I may venture outside of the door tomorow.
Seems fine no tears so far, and she is asleep now. Took 7 min.
Takes much longer if I am laying next to her.

Right off to watch a film with dh and may even treat myself to a glass of red.

LoveBuckets · 11/07/2009 19:42

Hi No1
Yay for your DH getting a taste of your daily life, tis good for everyone I think. One thing I always meant to do but never got round to it was buy a soothing classical music compilation cd for bedtimes. A friend swore by hers, the kids would fall asleep listening to it. Off to Ebay now while I remember...

Well, I am stuffed. Got our £30worth of pizza, nachos, garlic bread (for dd), chicken bits, jalapeno doodahs and 2 puddings between 4. Yay me.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/07/2009 19:52

buckets I keep meaning to put some on her ipod. I have it in nursery at the moment.
I was thinking last week, maybe she would like it back in her room.

You're tea sounds amazing btw. I have had a salad and I am feeling bit peckish.
I have 750 calories left for today.
Do I eat drink or leave it....

Yes I had to control the smug grin re dh.

I have been talking to my older dbro earlier and he is now relieved they have got dneph diagnosed this week (not sure if that is the right word) He has Aspergers, he is just glad they can now get the help/support they need and move forward.

My dsis, had an appointmet yesterday with my dneph and he has another assesment next week, and think he may have ADHD.
They have all been stuggling and it looks like they are now going to get the help they need.

RedLentil · 11/07/2009 20:19

Glad to hear the boys are getting help No1. It has been wonderful to hear about the progress mini-buckets has made since his diagnosis.

DH is engrossed in a documentary about Robespierre and the French Revolution. Marrying an expert on 18th century culture on Bastille Day was an excellent move. He only forgot the year DD1 was one and we both forgot a la TS ...

Some friends of ours share our anniversary and say that going to Paris for it is wonderful as it feels like everyone is celebrating for you. We might try that when the DC are bigger.

No1 - DH has had the dc quite a bit in the last few weeks and it has had a very positive effect on the way he sees my day. I do think that the effort invovled in juggling is something that isn't visible from the outside, however well-intentioned the man involved.

Buckets - I do the pogoing whenever I am really exhausted just before I collapse. Tis one of DH's favourite things about me. He goes quite swoony when I do it ...

Dizzy - glad your day was fun.

Pertolete - my crappier parenting practices are edited out as I think I've said before

CaptainCaveman · 11/07/2009 20:26

shhh, just popping on quickly on the quiet whilst pils are downstairs and I've just fed O and put him to sleep.
Hope all are ok?

We've had a nice day, apart from the 5.30 start, thanks oliver. Been to a party for ds1's friend this morning, then the pils arrived, had lunch and we spent a lovely afternoon strolling round the gardens at Newstead Abbey. So pretty and the weather was kind to us too.

Lovely big chinese takeaway for tea, and now dh and mil are washing up and putting away!! Tee hee. And here's me, mning

am just going to make the sofa bed up, dh and I have been relegated from our kingsize...well the pils are mid-70s, can't have them sleeping virtually on the floor (although somehow thats ok for my mum, )

CaptainCaveman · 11/07/2009 20:28

buckets not quite classical, but ds1 has a fab mr men cd he listens to ad infinitum - it's got some really cool songs on!

RedLentil · 11/07/2009 20:28

Hi CC - that sounds like a nice day.
Pils are a law unto themselves though ...

Do you remember this time last year when my friend came and made it clear that she was having our bed and at 8.5 months pregnant I was on the airbed?

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 20:30

my arms are pink but I am weirdo scottish blue person and mere mention of summer makes me burn however have just got the girls undressed and they've a hint of pink too am horrified as I'm normally SO anal about covering up/suncream etc - they were both in long sleeved tops and leggings but no hats

wonder if thats why Dylan has been so grouchy this evening, too much sun [horrified and ashamed of self emoticon]

they're jumping about naked in front room watching TITP looking for DH there are 65,000 people there - am pretty sure they'll see him though

CC well done on what sounds like lovely day

buckets tea sounds great

No1 thats great news that they'll get the support/help that they need from now on

evening all else

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 20:32

Red I remember that also think I gave you a few choice words of comment on the subject

the running naked has turned into running naked but WITH balloon hats on head - will all end in tears, mark my words

RedLentil · 11/07/2009 20:32

at finding DH.

The same thing happened to DD1 in the sun last year and I was upset. It is so easy to do, and very hard to gauge the sun accurately all the time.

cyteen · 11/07/2009 20:48

no1 thumbs up for an understanding DH - like Buckets says, it does them good to have a peek into our world Every time DP has had DS for any length of time he's come back full of praise for me and my lackadaisical efforts. You parent about 1000 times more effectively than me so clearly deserve 1000 times the credit

Glad also that you enjoyed a snuggle with your poorly boy. Poor Marcus. Has his temp come down at all today?

Got to agree with the communist Lentil re. diagnosis - I love hearing about how much fun the family Buckets have together, what a world away it seems from the stress of the initial diagnosis.

RedLentil and Buckets I lol'd at the pogoing; it's something I do when I'm really excited and/or happy, DP seems to find it quite endearing. When I'm really excited I also emit a high-pitched squeak

CC hello! I read that as 'the piles are downstairs', was thinking 'where else would they be?' Not much between them I suppose, both an irritating pain in the arse

dizzy rofl at your naked herd

Just got off the phone with my dad - a 78 yes you read that right 78 MINUTE conversation in which I said about 30 words. Bless him, think he's been stuck for someone to rant talk to about his work Roll on end of term, I say.

cyteen · 11/07/2009 20:56

Sorry CC bit of an assumption re. your PIL there...I'm sure they are lovely (sorry CavePil).

oh VG are you going to be an auntie again I know I have a nephew and another one due in Sept but although I like my dbrother his wife is weird and my nephew is alittlegit hard to get on with as he's soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo over indulged

DH just texted to ask if we've aftersun as he's managed to get burned today - he NEVER burns so am hoping he's not hoping for some lotion rubbing action as last night he was stinking when he got home

VG am also blissfully alone, will only be for a short time but tis lovely - living room door open, lovely cool breeze and ignoring all housework

he will be 7 in Sept which is when his little brother/sister is due - it had apparently better not be a wee girl as he is sick of girls (mine) although he has now supposed that if it IS a girl at least it won't play with his toys, charming

I'd love a big family like that - I think thats where my desire for 4 kids comes from

he's been objectionable since he was born but thats a terrible thing to admit about one's own nephew

I have a desire for a big close family and I know its not going to happen through cousins/aunts etc so I think thats why I want 4 kids so they'll have lots of kids etc

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 22:06

right DH home and aftersun has been applied so off to chat for 10minutes before bed

night all
