TS you are a wise lady

All you who are having sibling issues and sad/grumpy/cross babies I hope they buck up and fill your weekend with great joy

Dizzy I knew that was you you look lovely I don't know why you shun the camera. Well that's a total lie because I understand perfectly well. I often wish that there were more pictures of me, but as I am usually in charge of the camera it's quite rare. I never look nice when I am in a picture though maybe when I have lost another 2 stone I will be satisfied.

Speaking of which we have finally used up the old and started a new Hot Mamas thread here so if anyone feels like a bit of support and encouragement come and have a fresh start with us

Sambo The Wire kicks ass, aaight

After a week at work I'm afraid I can't remember any more, except remembering to suck up to No1 like nobody's business so she might let me have a go on her horse when I've lost enough poundage not to crush it

Oh yes,Vanilla Cake iced and ready for scofage tomorrow I made 3/5 of the recipe in a 15cm tin, it's still massive. In fact I split it, iced the middle, and put the top back on but when I started to ice the top it was sooo heavy the middle icing was squishing out so I had to dismantle it while the middle icing set. Looks good now though

There's Swine flu at my work too!

dizzydixies · 10/07/2009 22:09

glad the cake worked out well hots how have you found being back at work?

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:09

Sweet dreams No1.

Yes I forgot to say before, how fab your DS1 sounds VG and what a great mama you are. Glad you and Red had a good meet. I wish I wish I wish I could win the flipping lottery then I would organise a massive meetup for us all somewhere where we could relax and have a lovely time. As TS won't go on a plane I guess it would have to be somewhere in US, although due to a minor indiscretion in my youth I'm not sure I'm allowed in any more

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:13

Hey Dizzy work's not too bad actually, although getting up at 6am with no chance of a nap is shit. Still, only 3 days so no sooner have I got settled then it's Friday again I'm still applying for new jobs with promotion - will tell you all when I've got it this time You still have a month off? When do you find out about the planning?

dizzydixies · 10/07/2009 22:13

brilliant, the more I hear Hots the more I like you

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:24

Yay Dizzy I like you too

If I ever get out on the road again in my job visiting our Pension Centres I will deffo come and see you cos we've got one in Dundee!

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:37

Aw feck, just realised I missed a live web chat with Chris out of off of Doodle Do today I ♥ him

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:38

Whoops that should have said that I heart him

dizzydixies · 10/07/2009 22:46

am off to google this chris bloke

hotterpotter · 10/07/2009 22:58

You really need to watch Doodle Do to get the full impact of his loveliness, as it's not so much looks as attitude he was pretty cool on the webchat too.

Off to bed now as despite being up at 6 the last 3 mornings it's not my turn for a lie-in tomorrow oh well shouldn't really complain cos I get Sunday and Tuesday. Night you guys

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2009 03:06

HP the meet up doesn't have to be IN the US just close enough I can boat over. Anything in the Carribean would be fine.

I've been planning again. I may have our next big road trip sketched out. Seems Jacksonville, Florida has a really nice zoo with flamingos and black panthers. The hotel chain we always crash at has a beach front property close by. I allowed DH to look at some of my notes and he was like that's a long way to drive. It's 8 hours! Our Spring Break Beach Trip was 10 hours!!! If I book it he will go.

It's 10pm here now. DD1 is still away and apparently thinks she's going on a bear hunt. She's pulled out her zebra print winter coat with matching boots and just popped into my room asking for a flashlight. I about feel in the floor from laughing. With a stern stare she said, "SERIOUS MOM!" Unfortunately we don't have a flashlight which works. I would have liked to see her walk outside on this dark dark night holding a flashlight. She'd have been immediately swarmed with bugs. Honestly though....THAT'D BE FUNNY!!

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2009 03:06

NOT AWAY....AWAKE!

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 07:58

morning all, full continental for brekker? am so sleepy DH home (am stinking [yuk]) and up and away again first thing this morning - why do my kids not need to sleep

DD2 parked on my knee as usual, DD1 colouring in and Dylan tackling her favourite stairs! DD1 insisting on watching some bloody jungle/Steve Irwin programme and I hate snakes so having complete heebie jeebies!!

Hots am glad its going ok at work, I'm due to start back on the 20th Aug although technically back now but on annual leave. We've had some exciting news about the planning but I can't confirm until we hear officially. I have another meeting on Mon night with the committee where they will hopefully approve the consultants brief I've done for the business plan/feasibility study and I'm going to be spending this weekend schmoozing at our local festival

my lot, apart from us, are away to a 50th birthday party in Carcassone I'm just hoping it stays dry for DH

pertelote · 11/07/2009 08:21

Morning Dizzy. Sorry, the sleep fairies finally made it to ours last night (10.30 - 5.30 then cuddled and dozed til 7.30 - best we've had for months and months). Your turn next hopefully! Good luck with the schmoozing... will you be offering cake?! The christening photos are gorgeous btw - looks like a really great party

Hots do you find three days is ok then? Good luck with the applications.

TS hope the little bear hunter went to sleep! LOL at her hunting bears dressed in zebra print though

No1 sorry your DD is still finding big-sisterhood difficult. Think Red's idea sounds brilliant (as usual!)

ALBS there's a place people seem to like in Walthamstow too. And this week I discovered Discover (ha) in Stratford - not your typical soft play and really designed for slightly older children who can play imaginatively but there is lots of space for play and DD seemed to enjoy it.

No plans at all for this weekend. Though there is rather a lot of tidying/sorting (not to mention decor shopping, oh yes) that needs to happen before DD moves into her own room - yes I have finally admitted that it might be time, and if she has some more nights like last night my last excuse is gone...

LoveBuckets · 11/07/2009 08:23

No1 When DS1 is cross and 'doing a Columbine' (sorry, tasteless joke but that's what we call it) ie "I want to hurt EVERYBODY!" I give him things from the recycling box to squish and stamp on. 7 times out of 10 he does it and wonders off fulfilled.

There's a massive spider somewhere in Kurt's room - AIMBU to leave Kurt in charge of spider-disposal? I don't care what he does with it as long as it's imobilised.

Hotter Was that Doodledoo webchat on MN??? Oh that thread will be hilarious, he's a stand-up comic irl and has so many fans on MN. I heart him too, he doesn't do that shut-eyes-and-wince-before-singing like the new CBeebies couple do, he just sings like it's conversation.

Well, I still have to watch the Torchwood finale tonight so no spoilers please. Captain Corelli film was ok but nothing like the book. Got my shag but afterwards I realised we'd left the curtains open and the light on and our bed is right in the window. So you can now add exhibitionism to my list of shameful deeds.

Have a lovely weekend all, just in case I don't get back soon.

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 08:36

pertelote they all slept ok it was just they'd waited up to see DH, I eventually them to bed though as he was late again, and they've not had enough sleep - today is the local family fun day and I know they're going to be shattered/stroppy/overtired etc etc and even though Dylan didn't get put down till 8.30pm (two hours later than normal as she'd had a late nap) she was still up before 6

buckets time he learned to toughen up and deal with the spider - steve Irwins daughter had her first crocodile at aged 4yrs so I don't think a spider at 11months is too much

that doodle do bloke is more familiar to me as the welsh bloke that covers the 6 nations - how sad is that

hotterpotter · 11/07/2009 08:43

Has Torchwood been good Buckets? We watched the first episode and very much enjoyed it but haven't had time to watch any more. Got 'em all recorded, will try and watch this weekend. The chat with Chris was very funny, there's a link near the top on the right of the page. Nice to see he's not an arse in real life

Hope you don't find DS2 with just the last leg dangling from his mouth

Pertelote good luck with moving DD, but don't worry too much if the decor isn't perfect . The radiator in DS' room still isn't painted and DD went in there 3 years ago . It's not even like it was a big job to decorate, the room is only 6 by 7 foot.
3 days suits me well from a pesonal perspective; not sure what my employer thinks of it though. Has been quite tricky going into a new job - I don't really have a chance to get settled in before it's weekend again. Going back last time to the same job was absolutely fine though.

Apparently the twat bloke who pipped me to my job is still falling asleep at work Serves them right for picking him.

Dizzy ooh pass some Continental brekker over here please, the pastrier the better Had maybe one glass too many of wine last night and feeling a bit ropey. Not as bad as my sister who stayed over on the sofa though, she stayed up a bit late, then I forgot to turn off DS' baby monitor so he woke her chattering at 5.30am (I didn't even hear him ) and although he went back to sleep she couldn't. Now DD is making her read stories hehehe

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 08:48

pertelote agree completely with Hots, decor not an issue at all, in a few years she'll be demanding it all painted peppa pig pink or want princess paper

hots would a slice of cake not sort you out nicely?!?

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 08:53

oh and no cake for the schmoozing. there is a table about the trust at the festival but I've said I'm not manning it as I'll have all the girls myself [meep]

right have to go and do some work and I suppose feed the kids

have a lovely day everyone, if we don't come back with the fancy dress prize I may end up in the jail otherwise hopefully see you all later

hotterpotter · 11/07/2009 08:54

LOL Dizzy some cake is just what I need, but I have to wait until my mum gets here which won't be for a couple of hours...someone tie my hands or hide the tin please

dizzydixies · 11/07/2009 08:56

ah the temptation would be too much for me, I'd just make another one

hotterpotter · 11/07/2009 08:56

DD's turn on the computer now, so hope you all have a lovely day and might see you later

cyteen · 11/07/2009 10:51

A mixed bag of nights from our babies/partners then Thankfully all was relatively well in the end - magic boob got DS off to sleep, we crashed v early, then he woke me at 12.20am, DP at 3ish, came in with us for a feed at 5am and went off again till 7am It was actually really nice to have him in with us and just sleep, rather than treat it as playtime - hasn't happened much lately - I made the most of snuggling with my baby, albeit on the edge of the bed.

He's much more himself again today - he was so moody yesterday, massively overtired methinks.

Rainy day here, think I might need to make a cake.

Steaknife · 11/07/2009 16:18

Hi all just popping in to say hello. My dad turned up on wednesday morning about a week earlier than expected. He is camping close By but still required entertaining and feeding. It was nice to see him but lots of extra work i hadn planned for this week. Not much else to report and no time to catch up properly. Will just throw 14Th july fireworks around and leave you to it.

LoveBuckets · 11/07/2009 16:29
