llynnnn · 17/07/2009 21:51

i've finally got round to adding pics onto my profile! its only taken 5 weeks!!

mrsmc- very jealous about your pedicure, i could do with some pampering! enjoy your busy weekend, sounds lovely

right must get some sleep...

Naat · 18/07/2009 14:09

Morning Juners!

Mrsmc, glad to hear Aaliyah made a big poo again We also use the dummy for when she's unsettled or too upset, it works so well!

Llynn, as Mila wasn't sleeping in the moses at night and I spend all day in the living room the other day I thought of taking the moses there and make her take her day naps in the moses. I started yesterday and so far it's going OK. She sleeps a max of 30min, that's the only thing, so I guess the "training" is going to be long But well, I won't lose anything by trying There are some babies that take to it very well and sleep like rocks, but over here no such luck Congrats to your sister for her baby girl!!!

Ermin, I'll look into those bags, I've never seen them but they sound very convenient Thanks again for all your advice. I'm reading all this to DH

Bigcar, you're right, woman! I, like Loouise, stay trapped indoors when it rains and you're so right! A good raincoat and out!!

Loouise, as Ermin said, it's absolute Murphy's law you want sex and we don't I envy your hormones, lady! Like the others said, we must venture out no matter the weather I felt exactly the same you described in your post today and also didn't dare tell anyone , not even DH. Glad to know it's "normal"

Daisy, I can't believe what the doc prescribed made the rash even worse But glad you seem to have found the solution. Hope the osteopath helps him and he can get rid of his colic in no time, poor little lamb. So glad his sleep is getting better at the wax incident. I shaved my legs in a hurry the other day as DH had the baby but she was starting to cry because she was hungry and then when I had a look I had done a very poor job

HI to all Juners!!

Lazy day here, Mila training in the moses , DH watching The Open and helping me with some house chores. Very "homey" day I like it

Oh, yesterday we were asked to leave Whetherspoons (sp?) because it was 9.20 and after 9pm there cannot be any under 18s so that's the second pub!
Hope you're having a lovely Saturday, Juners!!

(((waves)))

Naat · 18/07/2009 14:19

Ladies, I've uploaded some more pics in my profile

ermintrude13 · 18/07/2009 17:12

Gosh Naat, she's already looking so much like you! Lovely pics; isn't it nice when they spend so much more time with their eyes open? .

I've been putting Arthur in the moses basket downstairs since very early on and at first he'd last 20 mins at the most but can now do a 1 or even 2 hour afternoon sleep in there, and when he wakes up he's looking at the fabric and feeling quite mellow so I hope Mila gets used to hers soon.

Lynnnn more lovely photos - the pair of them look adoragble together.

Mrsmc your weekend sounds very sociable, hope it's all enjoyable. You'll have the weather which we won't necessarily be able to count on here - bbq for DD's football team and families tomorrow and am not sure about the forecast. Then the last of my sisters who hasn't seen Arthur is visiting with her DS and boyfriend, so he'll have met the whole immediate family

Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 18/07/2009 18:46

Reading and running....

DH broke up from school yesterday so I now have 6 weeks with an extra pair of hands... hooray!

Still in colic madness. Emily's slept all day so that doesn't bode well for later.... she is so exhausted after her hours of screaming that I think it just wipes her out the next day. Plus she's having a growth spurt.

Thanks for the Colief tips. Will go and get some if there's no improvement this weekend.

Emily's in the cot now, and I think that the grobag makes her feel secure as she seems fine.

Hope all are well. Sorry I can't respond individually. When the colic subsides \i might have time!

silkcushion · 18/07/2009 19:08

Had to buy another bloody car today mine has dropped dead now. That's every penny of our savings now gone. I'll need to get back to work to pay for these sodding things. grrrr

Sleeping - Eleri refused her moses basket after day 3! and has been in her proper cot in our room ever since. She sleeps loads in the day though. In fact, I reckon she's only been awake for about 4 hours today (and she's four weeks old now)

Sex - did it after 4 weeks last time and it was fine although I was worried about stitches etc. This time I'm quite up for it but really really really want decent contraception sorted first. Seeing dr on mon - contemplating the coil - any experience?

Getting out and about - I go stir crazy of stuck in the house. Went for a long walk on Thursday and got soaked but my little girls were ok in their plastic raincover. Have to agree that being trapped in the house with a newborn can be very boring.

Maintenance - need a haircut (no time), managing to shower etc but has to be at night (mornings too chaotic), ladygarden - shameful in fact the state of my bush is my method of contraception at the moment - think dh would need a chainsaw to hack his way in there

DorisIsAPinkDragon · 18/07/2009 21:51

Hi all,
Posting and running aswell having a nightmare at the moment with Annabelle and pojectile vomits I don't know how she can be keeping anything down???? Will get her weighed again on wednesday to check everythings ok, oh and with the vomit and burps comes wails of discomfort running out of ideas now....

Another of dd1's friends has come down with the flu and she sounds really poorly with it vomiting shakes temps and generally unwell and she's on tamiflu, we were supposed to go to a birthday party today with a load of her firends but decided against it feel really bad (for her) but just want to keep them as safe as i can.

Contraception wise we have children and are just too bloody knackered to do anything at the moment and no opportunity, and my get up and go (mojo!!) got up and went dh visited the docs on friday for the permenant solution chat, now he just has to wait for the appointment 3dd's is DEFINITELY enough .

Right going for a rest as spent the afternoon buying new bedding (fab sales atm 60% off some in Laura ashley) and duvets for the transition off DD2 from grobag to big girl (cot)bed(-sides). Have taken down 1 and built 2 cot/beds this pm but the smile on her face was worth it.... we can now start putting Annabelle into her cot in our room now

night all

June2009 · 18/07/2009 23:15

silk I want to see the dr next week about contraception too. I think you can go on the mini pill but I'd like to have a period before I start it, just to make sure it works :S It might sound stupid but I'm worried that I could be damaged inside after the cesarian. (will post about it in pregnancy thread actually I think).
For those who have have c-sections, do you remember how long it was until your got your period and how heavy it was?

Do you guys know how much bloog you lost during childbirth? I saw in my notes that I lost about 700ml, I'm still taking iron tablets for another month and look a bit pale. I have started feeling like I am recovering though, I only fel nauseated when I get up in the morning for the early feeds.
The nurse did say "you don't need a blood transfusion but you're borderline". I didn't think she actually meant it but now I've been reading about it and it seems 700 is considered a heamorrage. It's making me dizzy just thinking about it.

naat Love your pics, Mila is adorable :D
Hope you're getting on ok with basket training, colic and bf.
btw I had a question about nipple shields, when you use them, does the baby still latch on most of your breast or just the nipple shield? I couldn't figure it out when I tried them, worried the baby was going to swallow it or something.
Good luck with the nappies, I considered them for about 2 minutes and then thought it would probably be too much hassle. we're usually spot on with recycling and composting...

ineed so sorry emily has colic badly We've been giving Calypso some infacol but she still cries sometimes.
Today she has slept a lot, then wakes up crying/screaming like she is in pain, not sure what to do. The HV is coming on monday so I will ask her about that. Do the lo have nightmares already? She seems otherwise well.
Can I ask you how much the osteopath costs?

lynn your children look very happy :D Congrats on being an auntie!

mrsmc we've got two prams as well (and oonly 1 baby!)Hope you're having a nice weekend, sounds busy!
I can't deal with doing too much, having people round makes me tired, and I don't fancy going round our friends places as they pretty much all have dogs and I'd be worried about them biting or eating my baby!!
very jealous of your pedi too, I need one badly, and a wax. I think it'll be absolutely ages until I have a proper bikini wax because of that c-scar but my legs and underarms really need doing

daisy I hope Fraser's bottom situation improves very soon! C.had a rash and sudocreme took care of it quickly so we were lucky. Hopefully the doctor can prescribe you something else that works this time!
I noticed the HV had a way of talking to the bbaby that got her attention straight away, kinda whispering too. My auntie (who used to look after babies) did it too, I do try but it doesn't come ou the same. and the baby doesn't respond the same either, maybe there's a class we can take??

louise Hope the nice weather comes back for you and you can get out with Ishbel (lovely name by the way, and georgous little girl!). I can understand how you would want to stay up north for a while. It's a lot less fun if we have to think about whether to go out or not. We used to go somewhere every day or every couple of days (supermarket, cafe, shop etc) but now we hardly go anywhere in case someone sneezes on us.
I was looking into this "babe in arms" cinema tickets where you can take your baby with you (they never got back to me though) I'm not bored though cause I started work again :S

erm The neighbours didn't give us much choice. If they go ahead and cut the tree on their side only it will be unbalanced according to the tree surgeon and we would be liable for the damage. There are three fences, other neighbours with kids etc, it's just not worth the risk.
Hope you;re getting on ok

bigcar Calypso is quite tall and it won't be long before she has to sleep in her own cot. We've been putting her in it for half an hour a day so she gets used to it. she likes it thankfully but I will miss her being in our room. (we wouldnt move the cot in our room). I constantly wake up to check if she is still breathing.

Hey Tee how are you doing? thanks for the tips re child benefit forms, still not filled in or posted though, neither is the passport form,

My little bro (not so little, he is 24yo after all) and 3 cousins are visiting next weekend, really looking forward to it (tho not sure where we'll put everybody overnight!).

enjoying my sil coming over has been short lived, getting on my nerves now, pushing all the wrong buttons...I reckon I need more sleep :D (don't we all).
She thinks she knows better, was feeding the baby lying down the other day, when dh told her to keep her upright because of colic she just ignored him, shushed him away saying "nah it's all right", she didn't burp her either (spent the whole time on her phone to her mates) and then we had to deal with the baby screaming down the house. That and other rude behaviour, some ppl always think they know best don't they.

I met up with most of the people from my nct group and it was really lovely, really cheered me up loads.

Wow, quite impressive that I had all this time to catch up with the thread, this is because we finally bought a swing and Calypso loves it. It gives my arms a rest and settles her a treat.
Of course she still wakes up the second I transfer her to her moses basket but we're still wroking on that!

have a lovely sunday, i hope the weather is nice for everyone.

June2009 · 18/07/2009 23:22

hey Doris, cross posted with you, a lot of people round here are not mixing up with kids,s oftplay etc because of the flu so don't feel too bad.
Hello to everybody else I missed!

MrsMcJnr · 18/07/2009 23:45

Aaliyah had her first day (well late afternoon) on the beach today, she seemed to sleep really well amid all the noise, let?s see how she fares this evening ? last night wasn?t good, I only got a snatched 30 mins here and there. No poo today either, let?s hope she has one tomorrow. I have upped my fibre intake so we?ll see if that makes a difference.

Ermintrude ? thanks for the reassurance on the poo front, never had this with DS. Hope you get your Chinese food and that the weather holds out for your BBQ and sister?s visit. Aaliyah also likes studying the pattern on her Moses basket.

Llynnnn ? congratulations on becoming an Auntie did you meet her today? And how is your sis doing? It?s a lovely feeling becoming an Auntie isn?t it? I have 2 nephews gorgeous photos

Naat ? I have the Moses basket around the house for sleeps/quiet time during the day. Apparently babies wake up so often because their periods of REM are more frequent than ours. Love your photos I know Aaliyah would love being in a sling but it is just too hot.

Ineedmore ? sorry to hear you are plagued with colic so glad that DH can help you more now.

Silk ? what a pain about the car I know what you mean about the contraception worry, I want another baby but not yet and for some reason I am more nervous this time round, probably because Aaliyah was conceived the first night we tried and that was a couple of weeks after I stopped BFing DS at 8 months.

Doris ? sorry to hear about Annabelle?s vomits and pain, I am having that with Aaliyah too. I think it is because my flow is so fast, poor thing gets a jet of milk down the back of her throat hope your friend is much better soon. How old are they when we consider going from cot to bed?

June ? hope the cousin?s visit goes well very that Calypso likes her swing; both my babies have hated ours (so far) My nephews apparently have signs of Swine Flu I am quite scared about when the English schools break up and the kids come over here, what are the signs of Swine Flu??

June2009 · 19/07/2009 00:36

mrsmc, I think the first sign of swine flu is getting a very high temperature very quick.
there's a q&a on bbc here.
when dh put her in the swing first she absolutely hated it, but he put it on, swingin, with the music, mosquito net and the light show, as well as the plasticky bit on top of her legs. It was all a bit too much. I stripped it to the bare minimum and only put her in without any swinging first and progressively added the swinging, manuall and then switched it on properly. today we had the ligth show on as well.
Im very glad she likes it, there's only so much rocking my arms can take ;)

Tee2072 · 19/07/2009 06:42

Hi all

june even if you wait to go on the pill, do make sure you use some form of birth control. You can get pregnant while breast feeding (which I think you are, I can't remember who is and who isn't) without ever getting your period! I will be starting the pill ASAP myself.

mrsmcj glad A enjoyed the beach! Sorry you're not sleeping. Hope the poo situation works itself out!! (now there's a sentence I never thought I'd write )

doris sounds like reflux to me, although I am hardly an expert! I would call the GP/NHS direct and not wait until Wednesday. But that's me.

Adam is doing quite well. Little bit of colic, but not too bad. At the moment he and DH are having a bit of a lie in.

OP posts:
Naat · 19/07/2009 11:01

Morning ladies!!!

Tee, hi! Lucky boys having a lie in LOL at poo situation

June, thanks for that link Re. shields, Mila latches on wonderfully if only they did that without them, huh? She takes in the "nipple" of the shield and then opens her mouth reaaaally wide and takes a great part of the shield in. Don't worry, she won't swallow it, as there's a part of it that remains outside, at least in the ones I have Soooo glad your arms are freer now and that Calypso loves her swing

Mrsmc, fingers crossed the moses training goes to plan and she starts "liking" it

Doris, agree, not worth putting DD1 at risk, it's a pity they'll miss the party but her health goes first So sorry to hear about the projectile vomits, maybe Tee is right and it's reflux?

Silk, oh sweetie, so sorry to hear about your car! If I'm not wrong you had to go and buy one recently because your MOT was like 1200, right? Great that Eleri likes her cot and is already sleeping in it! LOL at your current method of contraception Mine is Mila poor DH, bless him. I think I'll go for it soon, though, after what Ermin said the other day.

Ineed, the biggest (((hug))) going your way. So sorry to hear colic is still hell over there, but so glad your DH is now at home for 6 weeks and you have an extra pair of hands

Ermin, yes, Mila really looks like me when I was a tiny baby, but her nose is daddy's I can't stop taking pictures of her!! I'll blind my child Hope you have a great time at the BBQ and that the weather helps

Re. contraception: I was on the pill for 5 years and it worked wonderfully, no complaints. When we came to England we switched to condoms, which almost gave my DH a heart attack as he though we would get PG right then and there given their 97% effectiveness. We were just fine, however, and got PG first time only when we decided to go for it Sooo, I think we'll do the same now

Another calm day here, although at night Mila slept 5hs in a row but then could not go back to a deep sleep and kept waking every hour At 7.20 I gave up and put her in her bouncy chair in the bathroom so that I could have a shower I let DH sleep until 9 and then asked him to help. Now she's been sound asleep since 9.15

Waves to all!!! Have a lovely day, Juners!

MrsMcJnr · 19/07/2009 14:05

Aaliyah had a filthy nappy this morning maybe the Indian meal I had last night helped?! She is very happy today, cooing and smiling and shouting

June ? thanks for that info about swine flu and for the idea of limiting the stimulation on the swing, must try that

Tee ? lovely to have time out when your boys were lying in

Naat ? hope you get some down time soon

Re birth control; I use the FAM (Fertility Awareness Method). I can really recommend Toni Weschler?s book on the subject ?Taking Charge of your Fertility?) I do have to admit that most of the time I have been using it (3 years) I have been trying to get pregnant rather than the reverse but I am confident that I know my body so well now that it will work the other way too. It?s just as well I discovered this method as I can no longer take any form or hormonal contraception.

Yes, you can get pregnant during breastfeeding but it depends how you are breastfeeding. Every time a baby suckles at the breast it indirectly suppresses the hormones that trigger ovulation, in order for breastfeeding to efficiently prevent the release of eggs the baby must suckle at least every four hours during the day and every 6 hours at night. Beware the use of dummies! That said, I was down to 3 feeds a day with DS and he was 7 months old before I started to get signs of fertility. This method is called the LAM method (Lactational Amenorrhea Method) and as long as you fit the criteria (no return of menses, fully or nearly fully breastfeeding & baby less than 6 months old) it has a failure rate of less than 2% per year.

bigcar · 19/07/2009 19:30

evening all

MrsMcJnr, yay for a pooey nappy The beach sounds lovely, not been a good day here, very blowy and drizzly. Going from cot to bed is usually between 2 and 3 depending on when you think he's ready, unless you have an escapologist like ds1 who kept climbing out of his cot at 16 months

llynn, lovely pics and congrats on becoming an auntie

naat, lovely pics too Typical isn't it, get the offer of help and they start sleeping instantly!

silk, I thought it was bad enough having to replace my microwave this weekend (why is it Edward always want feeding as soon as dinner is ready?!) Never tried the coil for contraception but I think there have been many threads about the mirena coil and from what I remember they weren't all good, so check it out first.

june, everytime I wake up I check Edward's still breathing, sometimes I've managed to wake him up I really should learn to let sleeping babies lie After my last cs it took 7 months for my periods to start again, but I was bf and on the mini pill so they came back the same as before. After dd2 I wasn't on the pill, still bf and took 7 months to come back, the first one was really heavy and I mean really heavy, I thought there was something wrong but rang the doctor who said it was perfectly normal. If it's any help I lost 1200ml of blood during my cs, which has just reminded me I was supposed to ask the doctor for a blood test at my postnatal and totally forgot, that'll make a change Sorry to hear your sil is being a pain It'll be lovely to see the rest of your family, Edward still hasn't met all of ours yet.

tee, did you manage any more sleep? Just realised the time of your post I'm back on the mini pill I was on before ttc and that can be taken from 21 days postpartum. It's amazing the things that change when you have kids, there's a whole new vocabulary The new one in our house at the moment is "sick" which apparently means really good

daisy, how's the nappy rash going, hope there's been some improvement.

Edward has been sucking his thumb today, he's been sucking on his fist for a while, but actually managed to get his thumb in on its own. We hit the next sale yesterday, spent too much but between next and asda it'll be a while before Edward needs any clothes! Dd2 still thinks primark is the best shop on earth (sorry laura!) so we still had to go there too, glad we did, got Edward a couple of hoodies for £1 each, my bargain of the day we just won't mention all the crap dd2 got

I'm definitely getting old, just seen some of that t4 music thingy all I could think was that the girl singing (don't ask me who she was, haven't got a scooby!) must have been very cold and needed to put a vest on, shortly followed by how on earth can she walk in those shoes! DD2 just said that's sick!

Hope everyone's had a good weekend, waves to all

ermintrude13 · 20/07/2009 08:20

Someone mentioned blood loss during labour - sorry, can't remember who - and wanted to say that my sister lost a lot during her home birth - was going all faint and woozy whilst passing the placenta - and was transferred to hospital but since her blood count was healthy they didn't transfuse. It took her a good fortnight to stop looking pale/yellowish and she took iron supplements to help 'build her back up'. A transfusion would have been a much quicker pick-me-up but would have meant longer in hospital.

Taking DS1 to school with babe in buggy this morning - we were all up super-early and now Arthur is asleep. Should I wake him to feed him so that he sleeps for the school run or just keep fingers crossed he'll stay asleep? Bit of a dilemma.

Have good days all.

Tee2072 · 20/07/2009 08:51

erm I like to follow the rule of thumb 'never wake a sleeping baby'!!

This rule often bites me in the behind, however.

OP posts:
LittleSarah · 20/07/2009 17:04

Hello all!

Well dd has been at a friend's all afternoon and have I done anything productive?? No. No work on research proposal, nor cleaning the bathroom, nor doing dh's anniversary photobook (which I enjoy!). Nope. Bit of laundry and dish washing then spent the afternoon reading trashy fantasy novel while Alex slept. Was lovely though.

We are beginning to get a bit more sleep here which is grand, Alex managed about midnight to 5.30am last night, was so shocked when I woke I had to jump and check he was still breathing (thou art not alone bigcar)! The triumph of this achievement was slightly marred however by the fact that he did not want to go back to sleep then til about 7.30am. Still, progress is progress.

MrsMcJnr - Glad Aaliyah pooed! Alex is still only going every couple of days but he seems happy enough!

Llynnn - Congrats on becoming an auntie! I shall be auntie in a few weeks and Alexander will be enormous by then! He seems enormous already.

Daisy - I hope Fraser's rash is beginning to improve, poor love! Btw, how long does it take Bob's Books to send you your book once you've finished the design? I am working on one for wedding anniversary (5th Sept) so am beginning to panic about not finishing it early enough!

Silk - I had to guffaw at your comments about the ladygarden! No idea about the coil although my cousin has one and is happy with it. I'm going on the mini pill, sadly I have already had sex - once even inititated by myself - and so I am relying on the bf to have protected me, I have been feeding a hell of a lot tee and MrsMcJnr!

Doris - Good luck with your switch to the big girl bed, very exciting! I don't have any advice about the vomiting I'm afraid, I hope you can get some help.

Right, dd is back and watching some CBBC so I am going to try and do something productive until teatime!

MrsMcJnr · 20/07/2009 21:24

Hey girls very excited as my 3 new breast feeding tops arrived today and I have tried them all on and like them all I got them in an eBay shop ? mamaway.co.uk. Decided today to start jotting down when DS sleeps and when DD feeds and sleeps so that I can try and come up with a routine we hit week 6 on Wednesday and I feel that after that my house should be a whole lot cleaner than it is at the mo and the freezer is bare so I have no meals to rely on so I need to find some time in the day to cook and clean. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?? I can also stop injecting heparin and go swimming after Weds ? yipppeeee!

Bigcar ? thanks for the cot to bed tip, I think I will try and keep DS in his cot as long as I can; he is only 18 months old this week. It will mean buying a 2nd cot but the one we have is an Ikea cheapie and is fine. If I plan to have a 3rd child around November 2010, DS will be nearly 3 (well 33 months) and therefore I might not have to buy a 3rd cot ? best laid plans hey I am guilty of scaring the life out of my sleeping children when checking if they are still breathing normally I am ok checking from afar with Aaliyah as she snorts and snores love the sound of your bargains how sweet Edward sucking his thumb

Ermintrude ? your sister?s blood loss story sounds scary I remember that floating above everything feeling after I had DS but I have no idea how much I lost either time but I know they weren?t happy at the amount I lost this time and therefore insisted on the syntometerine. What did you decide about your dilemma? I try never to wake my babies, hoping they will wake when they need to. That said I do know how it feels to be out and about and praying that I can get home before I have to feed!

Hey Tee

Littlesarah ? sounds like a lovely afternoon and much more rewarding than laundry etc and it probably did you a lot of good too I?ve had a couple of nights like yours last night, it?s great but as you say the bit after the long sleep needs work!

TMI alert ? still no sex here too damn hot ? 30C in here tonight.

Someone noisy has arrived in the apartment below, music is bellowing and they are smokers and the smoke is wafting up - oh the joys of living in a holiday resort!

Naat · 21/07/2009 09:22

Morning ladies,

Mrsmc, it's certainly hot over there... I'd love at least a few days of such temps Ohhh noisy neighbours ! We have a couple upstairs who "kill" each other almost every night, and not in the good way. They scream, slams doors, scream some more, swear like I've seldom heard people swear... the other day Mila woke up after the "lady" slammed the door of their bedroom so hard! My sympathies, sweetie.

LittleS, oh, same here! Mila is giving me a bit more free time every day and do I do anything productive? Noooooo This weekend I'll start with the "finishing touches" of my dissertation, hopefully Glad you're getting a bit more sleep at night

Tee, my rule too after a very nasty incident when I woke her up and she screamed and was moody for the following hour and a half Never again! How's Adam doing? Is the rash gone thanks to the magic mix of creams?

Ermin, how did the school run go? When do your DC finish school? I contacted a lady from a website called nappy wardrobe and she made some suggestions, I think we'll go for a summer offer they have of 20 nappies + 6 covers and liners for 120GBP (totsbots). Does that sound like a good offer?

Bigcar, LOL I´m with you on that one, cannot understand girls/women who wear very little and don't feel cold! I feel cold only looking at them Great shopping day you had!

Not such a good night here. Mila woke up at 3.30 to feed but after that didn't seem to settle and kept waking up. A tired mummy managed to get her to sleep at 4.30 but then she was up at 6 and wide awake Aaaanyway... I'm seeing my translator friend this evening... they're still waiting for a surgery date for the baby but she's handling things really well, fortunately. We're also going to get a date to baptise Mila. We want to do it the second wkend of August as DH's dad and his wife will be here visiting us and that way we won't be so alone

Hope you all have a nice day, lovely Juners!

(((waves to all)))

ermintrude13 · 21/07/2009 11:39

Tee and MrsMc I DID wake him a little, just for a quick drowsy top-up feed and it worked - he slept all the way to school and to the shops and back again. As a general rule I think never wake a sleeping baby is a good one though

mrsMc I'll check out mamaway as I need an outfit for my sister's wedding in Sept that will allow for b/feeding!

Naay today is the last day of school for both DC and they were v excited this morning. DD will go to comp in Sept so there is a leavers' assembly this afternoon at which all the mums will cry when the children sing, and an evening do arranged by one of the parents, so 2 outings in one day for me and Arthur, unheard of!

Terribly wet and windy here, boo!

ps Naat I think that offer sounds good - certainly enough nappies - I inherited all my nappies from my sister, happily, but will need to buy some larger sized one soon. Maybe Bumgenius because as well as doing a 1-size version they are also all in one.

I found the website I used for the lavender and tea tree oils to make the nappy bucket smell nice: hope this link works. I bought 50ml of each plus a 100ml bottle to mix them in and it still looks full, you only need a couple of drops each day.

holding A and my arm is about to drop off ttfn!

Hello everyone Sorry haven't been on in ages. Time is flying now I have 3 dc's to look after I have been running them everywhere but sometimes do too much and then feel wrecked afterwards.

Elina is now 9lbs 15ozs and such a contented and calm baby.

She projectile vomited her feed yesterday morning just as I was getting kids into the car. She did it again this morning but manages to keep all her other feeds down. I mentioned the vomiting to the health nurse this morning and she started talking about ",aybe her stomach is too tight" and "it needs a small operation" etc etc. I couldn't believe the nonsense she was talking. Elina has only projectiled twice for goodness sake!!!! Why do these people put the fear of god in us?

I am quite down today. My poor sister and her 2 daughters were supposed to be coming over today to visit for 2 days and meet Elina. Its been ages sine I have seen them. Unfortunately her eldest daughter has got Swine Flu (she is ok) so they had to cancel and lose their flights Mum and Dad organise a family reunion every summer and its this weekend. I am supposed to be bringing Elina over this Thursday and I am begining to think I shouldn't be taking the risk with a newborn baby on a flight.Anyone have any thoughts on this? It is all very confusing as some are saying its all scaremongering and others are saying its serious.

Sorry for the me post. I am all over the place......

Morning ladies

Well, all a bit odd here. The past two nights have been hideous with Fraser - last night he started grumbling around 4.00 and built up steam and screaming from 7.30 onwards - until about 12:00. After feeding he would howl and howl, so I was worried that my non dairy diet wasn't working.

Then my 3yr old woke up this morning crying with a sore throat and cough like a seal and has a slight temperature, so I'm keeping an eye on her and taking her temperature every half hour, although she seems ok.

Fraser back to crying again and won't sleep.....

...and dh in foul mood - even though I am being fantastic considering, so am fed up with him.

All in all - fairly stressful....and we are supposed to be going to Simple Minds tonight - how likely is that!!!!
